Can someone elaborate Sympathetic Casting in Mage 2E?Does having Space 2 and a Sensory Range/1 Mana/Sympathetic Yantra enough to target the subject?
>>97406964Technically RAW sympathetic casting in 2e always uses the connection from caster to target, so you have to cast Borrow Threads first to borrow the connection from the Sympathetic Yantra, then you can do the spell as long as you have all the prerequisites you just listed.I personally ignore it in my games for the sake of simplicity.
>>97406932Any advice on how to play a BSD?
>>97407255>Hate Ga*ans and their ilk>Roundhouse kick a Gaian baby>Corrupt the Gaians into thinking critically for once>Seethe and Mald when they refuse>Kill Garou for sport>Depending on the group you want, be degenerate gooners into a lot of weird fucked up kinksNumber 1 priority is to fuck up the Garou unless you're trying to play one of those saner BSDs, in which case you're looking out mainly for your own interest and goals for now
>>97407302>>97407296Red flags GM/DM thread?>Somewhat new to ttprgs. Played a few solos to get the basics down pat.>Find a group on r/rollplayerslove >apply online, they accept me after a minimum of vetting to make sure I’m not a psycho rapist>it’s actually in the next town over so I’m able to make it on the weekend, told we’ll make characters and do a session 0>30min drive, plus I stop off and buy some snacks to be polite Side note, we’re playing DND 5E so maybe that’s where the trouble started>Find the place, respectable but average middle class place, GM’s wife answers door and let’s me in, she’s not playing just door greeter.>about 4 other people roughly my age, GM welcomes me and gives a quick kiss on the cheeks, we’re off to a good start.>GM hands out blank character sheets, says “ok guys we’re doing a points buy system”>Everyone starts to pull out their wallets and hand over cash.$1=1 point apparently.Fuck, it’s going to be one of those games. Now I know I’m just a noob but points buy is fucking retarded, I already put in money for gas and snacks so why do I need to shell out just to not be some weak ass level 1 character?I’d consider dropping this game but it’s the only one anywhere close to my home and I’m almost at the next level. Are there any other red flags I could look for to not get tricked again?>Starting a new campaign, D&D 5E.>Friends and I at GM house, tells us “ok guys for our new characters we’ll be doing a point buy system”> Everyone cracks open their wallets and starts handing over $50s and $100s to the collection plates>Fuck, only brought $10>Stuck with a shitty underpowered gremlin of a character with everything dumped into stamina just to survive>Don’t know how close to levelling up I am so I need to bring nearly $300 every time we go to play>This is on top of gas and snacks mind youIt’s going to be one of those campaigns isn’t it?
>Taking advantage of Pander women with self-esteem issuesI love being a part of the Sabbat!
>>97406932>Have you ever played, or played alongside, a special snowflake PC in any of your Chronicles?wait you guys don't let them be special?
>>97407296Thanks for the ideas. I'm thinking about playing a dirty cop to at least give him shit to do between supernatural events.
>>97407306Wrong thread?
>>97407483Dirty Law Enforcement and Judge Holden looking guys would be great inspiration for BSDs. They're surprisingly varied, but the main thing is you want to try to get down is they're all mostly bad people and probably a little bit insane at minimum. The Spiral tends to get you during your worst moments after all. Though, that shouldn't stop you from making someone that actually functions in the setting. Sometimes you shouldn't be an insane rapist even if you could be
