Can someone elaborate Sympathetic Casting in Mage 2E?

Does having Space 2 and a Sensory Range/1 Mana/Sympathetic Yantra enough to target the subject?

Technically RAW sympathetic casting in 2e always uses the connection from caster to target, so you have to cast Borrow Threads first to borrow the connection from the Sympathetic Yantra, then you can do the spell as long as you have all the prerequisites you just listed.

I personally ignore it in my games for the sake of simplicity.

Red flags GM/DM thread?

>Somewhat new to ttprgs. Played a few solos to get the basics down pat.

>it’s actually in the next town over so I’m able to make it on the weekend, told we’ll make characters and do a session 0

Side note, we’re playing DND 5E so maybe that’s where the trouble started

Now I know I’m just a noob but points buy is fucking retarded, I already put in money for gas and snacks so why do I need to shell out just to not be some weak ass level 1 character?
I’d consider dropping this game but it’s the only one anywhere close to my home and I’m almost at the next level. Are there any other red flags I could look for to not get tricked again?

Dirty Law Enforcement and Judge Holden looking guys would be great inspiration for BSDs. They're surprisingly varied, but the main thing is you want to try to get down is they're all mostly bad people and probably a little bit insane at minimum. The Spiral tends to get you during your worst moments after all. Though, that shouldn't stop you from making someone that actually functions in the setting. Sometimes you shouldn't be an insane rapist even if you could be
