It's less actively changing someone's mind and more changing their role in the narrative. If you place them on the role of the hero then their actions will take a more heroic nature but their personality will still be the same.

So you are asking if the 11th outsider, with the skills taught by lelziaseh, can undo a possession by pretending really really hard to be someone else?
Or by assigning the role of themself to the person who is possessing them, to try to circumvent their will?

That's all true, but the scenario you laid out is still a trap that ends with you dead and/or with your dick chopped off and the stump cauterised

Azula is insecure, crazy and prone to overreaction. Even if she at some point decides to use her friends to please her partner - whether genuinely or as a game for her own amusement - its not a scenario her partner will be able to participate in without triggering her insecurities and jealousy, something lethally fierce.

It's bad that page count is the only convenient measure we have. Tankista's Worm is 4 pages, but if someone else made it, it could be 14 pages. Perhaps one day AI tools will become so cheap & integrated that we'll just rightclick on images to count their words, and then compare cyoas by wordcount.

Yeah, I hate when in the most important choice of the cyoa, one is clearly the one closest to the heart of the cyoa. In a waifupicker, if the narrator is one of the pickable waifus, this often happens to her. Like the ex-angel in this one.

Or like the interviewer in Branching Heart. After seeing the epilogue once it's just strange to pick someone else, it feels like a false ending.

Still find this hilarious, after everything else going on building her up, her being a viable Overlord choice on her own, Tagus explicitly failing to bring down Sidith and needing you to do it, yet the chad Athanas can just show up at any time, kill Yazata and destroy Sidith by himself.

Anon shes crazy. "I had a dream you cheated on me"" crazy. There is no "just make her feel appreciated" here, no "just gotta have her rationally know shes your #1"

Shes a borderline BPD girl with murderous tendencies and deep-seated insecurities/narcissism, shes going to have a waitress murdered because she thinks you were too friendly with her, and then shes going to try murder YOU because she thinks you were being too friendly with the waitress.

She does not trust people. Especially by the end of the series. Thats literally her complex, she has no faith in anyone, which is why she tries to always rule through fear or manipulation. She doesent have that bit that most people have where they go "well, im not sure I understand the situation but its X so its probably fine, I know them and they wouldn't do something bad to me". She has the exact opposite impulse.

Azula would get her boyfriend with her friends (read: blackmail/threaten mai and tai-lee into getting fucked by her boyfriend) to feed her ego and sense of power and control, to validate just how good a partner she is and how subservient her friends are to her, and then crash out because she imagined that any of the people she got to have sex were just a little bit too into it, that her boyfriend is actually using her to get to what he really wants and that her friends are secretly man-stealing whores out to exploit her.

There is no "just safely take advantage of her neuroses".

Of course all of this depends on the events and characters you pick. If you purposely set up the hero party wrong as a joke then they will probably fall against the common slimes in the starting village without you there to be a crutch for them.

And yet you can. You are entirely capable of ignoring it if you want to do so.

The "meta plot" as you call it is the fucking premise of the cyoa. You are in the chosen heroes party and you will betray them. Your issue is that you think that is the only stuff that matters and convince yourself you are being forced to play it a certain way.

Which line? I only found that he hates the gods of Pegana and the Auspices (which are the humans' gods). Exactly. As a man met Mung for the first and last time, the god comforted him without entertaining the concept of an afterlife, but by saying that there will come a time when Mana-Yood-Sushai will sleep again and dream that he will live a different life where he does not take this path to Mung, and then Mung made his sign, and he was not. The idea I have is for beastmen to be basically feudal vassals they have communally granted lands in exchange for service.
Each kind of beastmen belongs to a clan that are led by women and at the same time being separated between which caste(human looking with cat ears and tails) and low caste(looking like furries) beastmen.
It is seen as an honor to personally serve one of the magical elite both from a practical and religious sense and it's not rare for whole families to swear personal loyalty to someone of great influence.
High caste beastmen are nobility in their society highly educated and trained for a variety of roles while low castes are used as manual laborers in their lands.
High castes often serve the mages directly while having their own low caste servants in turn.

What cosmic balance?
The old gods don't care, they just threw you for a laugh and you can have them rolling their eyes in disappointment if you pick Fate Unraveled, the Auspices can be fixed or destroyed or be kept working, they are simple tools. MANA will still sleep and the world will turn no matter your choices, unless you actively go full genocide route.
You are the one trying to give them relevance than required.
>>
basically, jrpg traitor is similar to outer reincarnation - it's designed to be loreslop and metaslop first and cyoa second. it tries to appear deep by having absurd amounts of lore and characters and metanarrative properties of the world that you need to read to understand what's going on. this way people who don't actually make builds but like to argue about things what sauron ate for breakfast a thousand years before the beginning of lord of the rings can gobble it all up and feel accomplished.
people aren't supposed to discuss the cyoa and the choices they'd make, they're supposed to discuss the oh so epic lore that doesn't matter.

Is it probable? Wavering in the face of a traitor? And there protector*s*, so if his son is there, then the protectors must all be traitors, right? Wavering in the face of a bunch of traitor, really? It's more likely that they are other people.

I think the only real evidence that points to the gods of Pegana being involved is that his burial place is in their land, but they might have just given permission to the buriers to do that, or maybe they just didn't care that their land was used for that.

Because that wouldn't fufill the fetish
>>
>>97411606
Well there are several reasons they are basically middle class lower or higher depending on caste, they have a right to their lands, their religion compels them to serve the magical humans, the magical humans have brainwashing powers and of course the top magical humans are extremely powerful in general.
Basically they benefit from the current status quo, of course not all equally but as a group they are well off.
If you manage to become a favored servant of one of the rulers you can go very far including becoming a matriarch of your own family with great influence in your clan or an honored warrior with likely many children.

You know put of curiosity I checked a few posts from when it was released that Malgold is playing god with Truths and Drusilla is attempting to overturn dead, both things that can have apocalyptic consequences so they are just as dangerous as the others.

>So she's about to die right?
Worse, she's not the first princess to do this, he's holding the corpse of the last princess he had to kill. The first and second image are a repeating cycle.
>>
Are any of the cyoa discords worth checking out? Do they just talk about boring off-topic stuff?
>>
>>97411774
The reddit one has an active channel where min-maxxers minmax.
>>
>>97411774
Only the off-topic channels are truly active; the ones dedicated to CYOA discussion are slow as hell. The discussion that happens isn't worth it; the bulk of it happens ITT.
>>
>>97411606
Also a reason I changed them from purely a slave race to more like government outsider enforcers is because I asked this same question.
Why would they allow themselves to be enslaved to mere humans when they are physically superior at least to normies?
Makes little sense but if they have a decent deal and investment in the system then it makes much more sense for them to support said system.

llama's is practically dead. SDA's is mostly dead. They have WIP posts once in a blue moon. The /r/makeyourchoice/ is alive; aro, hus, rake, sylen, and a bunch of others who are in cyoag are active there. It has frequent cyoa talk and WIP posting. Ironically, for a supposedly reddit server, most people active there are also in cyoag.

Correct the beastmen are also convenient scapegoats for the rulers when something needs covering up.

It's because most authors are cowards who're tremble at the idea of actually crippling drawbacks instead of poorly disguised fetishes.

This is an eye melting combo of artifact, text, and background. The worst part is that I dug the archives and found the original to be exactly the same.
>>
>>97410184
This is one of the best classic one-pagers, in my opinion. It gets straight to the point, leaves plenty to the imagination while upholding brevity, and annoys a big part of its possible audience. You're actually more of a slave here than in Radiant, since you can bail on being a paladin at any time but here you must be outrageously evil, and if you ever die for any reason you're getting the personalised time-dilated diddycaust special. Very fun cyoa. I'll make a build for it sometime later.

The female beastmen will clearly be stronger and bigger than the male beastmen and the same applies to the more human ones. So the cat girl would be a 3 meters tall Amazon while the werewolf is some tiny short femboy.
>>
>>97412836
I was sure this was italics but this kind of retardation sounds a lot more like hyenanon or that retard that made a cyoa series based on cucking yourself across dimentions on trash.
>>
Why does it always circle back to femboys.
>>
>>97412849
Hey, there would be no cucking involved, these beastwomen would be highly monogamous and territorial. You know what let's add some mystical pair bonding bullshit for shits and giggles.

Pretty typical 'Warrior, Thief & Mage' party. The Orc follows me after I found her wounded in the forest and nursed her back to health. Shortly afterwards the small town I had lived near was overrun by the same Beastmen horde that destroyed the Orc's tribe was overun. The survivors and I made our way to the nearest large city where we met the Elf who hired us to play bodyguard.

Part of a planet wide conspiracy to defect to the Tau in their next expansion sphere. The Friendly Official is an old friend and the one that recruited me. The Waifu is our covert handler to make sure certain objectives are achieved in the Underhive.

Nice little cyoa but I wish each race had twice as many options to spend points on.

>>
>>97410538
>finally get to the overlord section and hurr durr it turns out there's some false gods / rebelling against the gods bullshit going on that makes every other overlord choice irrelevant
Gods being computers is a JRPG trope. Clapping god's cheeks as the end goal of a JRPG is practically a meme. So this checks out.
Do I personally care for the whole "heh nothing matters it's all just a dream of a true god"? Not particularly. But it's not important to me, not really, nor is the whole cultivation and ascension deal. For example you can make perfectly engaging and interesting stories about normal-ish people and even gods in Discworld despite the fact that Azazel WILL turn off the lights when the time comes. You can write a cool and intricate stories set in The Elder Scrolls universe despite the fact that it's a dream inside a dream. You can spin a nice story in The Chtulhu Mythos despite the fact that ultimately reality WILL break when Azathoth wakes up. And so on.
I've spent thinking about the characters and reading/playing that cyoa for like three hours while I was fixing my kitchen sink and lights and then planning the build for two more while installing and cleaning new fish tank. It entertained me for hours while I was doing something else, and allowed me to imagine a specific story. That, to me, is what makes it neat. I've had fun daydreaming.
