Games Workshop actually does make the best miniatures in the world, but they overcharge by a wide margin, and have been eliminating variation and posability in the process. Gay Dwarves and Orxicans are a gaudy and out of place addition to a fantasy adventure game like D&D, but they don't really harm the game in ways that its own rules don't already do.The true problem is the ripple effect that comes from publications, organizations, conventions, and communities rushing to heap praise and accolades on otherwise mediocre or outright terrible games. Instead of the industry/community being rewarded with success and growth and so on because of their natural understanding of the market and what their customers want, they are being told through backwards culture warring astroturf, that greater success and growth await them if they change course and pursue the things that are being glorified for their symbolic social value, but not actual quality.
