What would a good allies detachment be for Auxillia? Want to run marines along side mechanized/Veletari focused Auxillia but don't really know what to squeeze in there. Thinking black shields, maybe WE, WS, or DA, and I really like the veteran breachers.
>>97412174Alpha legion then you can take any of them :^)
>>97412174How do you feel about melee? You don't have so much, and Space Marines have so many. AntiAV14 and antiTEQ are the two main questions to answer before building the rest of the list
hi anons, super newfag here getting more and more into the setting, mostly reading the Horus Heresy BLslop voraciously but as a result I'm wanting to dip my toes in the tabletop hobby. I'd surely like to play but at the very least I'd just like to have/paint some models. Is the saturnine box remotely worth it as a starting point? If not, what should I start with otherwise? I like pretty much all the legions but am particularly drawn to Death Guard fwiw.
>>97412485The saturnine box is a good start since it also has almost everything you need to play, like the rulebook, templates, a scatter dice, tokens etc. So if you like the models it's a convenient way to get into HH.It is somewhat of a large investment if you aren't entirely sure if you will enjoy the hobby though. If you can find a local group that plays HH it can be a bit safer to start with just a box of one infantry squad, and get the saturnine box after finding out if you like building and painting the models.
>>97412485get a twenty man tactical squad of whatever flavor of plate you like the most my dude and maybe the melee upgrade kit if you prefer bois with chainswords and hand cannonsthe 2.0 and 3.0 starter boxes are enormous investments of time to fully assemble and paint with any care and you can't go too wrong with some (potentially more if you go further) basal line infantry and even twenty marines should well and give you an idea of what's entailed
>>97412067>TQyes, it would take unnecessary amounts of time to react to warzones that needed to construct additional Legionnaires if they had to ask Terra and Terra had to send out some troops

With 3 centurions and 1 moritat after the delegatus I can take 7 auxillary detachments and the apothecary/techmarine detachments have a prime slot each for a logistical selection each. I just need to double check the rules to make sure I can stuff all the on-foot infantry into one squad and dump them in the rhino. We're gonna be playing my buddy's custom scenario so I'm not terribly worried about claiming objectives. Also I have to read what the techmarine rules actually do.
>>97412666>Logistical retinueWhat?
>>97412799A retinue taken by logistical benefits, duh >>97412666Looks legal to me, and yes characters can form a unit together and hop in a rhino.
>>97412799From the logistical support prime benefit on the apothecary
>>97412067which book is the op image from?
Was there ever a mention anywhere of that 10,000 year old rhino the 40k salamanders have in any of the books?
>>97412089Recruit women, of course.
>>97412920Doubt the current writers at GW/BL even know it exists.
>>97412920Yes, on the same page as Lion's beloved mk7 helmet and Dorn's iconic Soulspear
