The point of kill team is kill team, not all kill teams have 40k rules and that works fine. Even then you could add them to a variety of armies depending on their role- human cultists for Necrons (unknowingly so) like the GSC, renegades aligned with Chaos, or even a radical unsanctioned unit for a non-standard 'agents of the imperium' army.

Side note: Captain Titus and Plenipotentiary Vestha, seen holding a big ass scroll in pic related, have adopted a modus operandi of identifying and stoking points of social tension, up to and including backing uprisings against local authorities, on those planets where a speedy accession to the expanding Ultramar was not agreed to.

Of course that couldn't have anything to do with this Garronax situation since purportedly it submitted to Ultramar's terms.

The Spireguard didn't, but the TS did.
Iirc, they were working on their own Webway project (running unknowningly parallel to the Emperor's project).
Besides, as the fluff stands, they would have served alongside the TS (much like any Auxlilia regiment) and some would have escaped the Burning of Prospero; either on the Legion's fleet or engaged at another field of war, as the Burning was occuring.
I think it's a good alteration.

They fight in the 30k Siege of Fenris so some did survive. That said, implying they survive in 40k is kind of retarded. If any army would be organized and act even somewhat like a non chaos cultist horde though it would be tsons. They like to cope with the sortiartus project that they can actually build things instead of just chaotically devolving into infinite torture.

It would be cool to get an update on the status of Tizca, maybe see the glass pyramids restored and covered in tzeentchian demons, pirate ships in orbit manned by psyker captains repairing in anchorage before hunting more black ships to "rescue" psykers.

nta but I agree with you. The characters are very forgettable, even compared to SM1 (I can only remember Titus and Leandros). Fun to shoot nids, but hits a wall when the TSons show up imo. Mid game.
>>
>>97433729
one of them was a civilian on 30k calth and survived the word bearers genocide before becoming a marine

the other distrusts titus because he refuses to be honest with him about their past.

I'm not trying to pretend they are great literature, but they are well above average for side characters in an action game. you aren't impressing anyone with pointless contrarianism. The gameplay of SM2 sucks as but its short campaign is better than most BL slop or codex blurbs. This does not mean I endorse the endless Titus wank that we've gotten or its subpar gameplay, I'm talking purely in the context of the games story.

I mean I know you are playing noobs mostly but sometimes I play 40k players so bad I genuinely feel the need to yeet entire units into the abyss to give my opponent something to feel good about killing... and even then they will completely yeet 3x its amount of points out of cover to instantly die to achieve this so I win anyway. There are matches that feel genuinely impossible to lose because these people aren't even trying to play the game. I love 500/750/1000 point small games because I can use my side army projects but yea some of these people can play 50 games of 40k in a year and learn absolutely nothing.

the issue isn't super oath, the issue is that gladius is so busted that there's little reason to not run gladius
and ifyou are running gladius, best to just run ultramarines

I played against oops all termies Space Wolves and Dark Angels today
What the fuck? Innate -1 damage for DA. Wolves get innate transhuman

Can you point to the part where it says that? My friend insists they can arrive in the 1st as they're not bound by the reserves rules, as it states that Deep Strike rule is a different way of setting them up on the battlefield

>>
>>97434413
nta, Deep Strike units are still counted as reserves so when it says Reserve units cannot be placed on turn 1 (Unless Drop Pod, Special Ability Ect..) They mean deep strike units as well.
>>
>>97434415
So what's the difference between reserve and deep strike then?
>>
>>97434342
I can't believe they actually kept the Diddy Kong jetpacks at all

>>
>>97434416
Deep strike units can be set up anyware on the map outside of enemy units restriction zones, Reserves depending on the turn can only be set up in your home area, the middle area(Turn 2) or the enemies home area (Turn 3). I am fairly sure I am correct unless another anon wants to chime in.

>>
>>97434053
The anon I was replying to was complaining about how OP double oath is and how OP gladius is and therefore how OP ultramarines are. The post YOU are replying too is explaining that plenty of non super oath chapters are doing just fine, winning major tournaments. For casual fun players that is doubly true.
>>
>>97434349
Reserves rules aren't included in the core rules for some reason, but in the mission decks so you need to check Leviathan/Pariah/2025-26 for them. But you need to bring models that didn't start the game on the by the end of the 3rd round, so if you go first you can still bring them via Rapid Ingress during your opponent's movement phase. Likewise, if a model has started the game on the table but then went to reserves later, you're not forced to bring them by the end of round 3 anymore.

But what's the difference, in practice, between what an unit with deep strike does, and a unit that is just in reserve? Is it just that deep strike units can land in the enemy's zone on turn 2 instead of turn 3? Or is there more to it?

>>
>>97434349
>>97434449
You can't also bring models that started the game in reserves in round one. One exception to that is say your opponent went first, and you have models that can go to reserves at the end of your opponent's fight phase. You can pick them up and send them to the reserves, then when it's your turn you can actually bring them from reserves via deepstrike. This is valid because they didn't start the game on reserves, but went later.
>>
>>97434458
all units in reserves can deploy with reserve rules with 6" of the board edge, no closer than 9" from an enemy model, with additional restrictions based on the turn.

units with deep strike in reserves can alternatively choose to use the deep strike deployment ability and deploy anywhere on the board no closer than 9" from an enemy model.

Their whole 5th edition range was made in the perfect in-between time when GW finally had modern injection molding techniques for plastic but hadn't yet shifted their design paradigm away from fully interchangeable kits and parts. Lots of unit had weapon options that don't come in the kit with them because every infantry model was designed to be able to share parts with every other infantry model.

Adopt a simplified version of the HH system. Characters unlock Battleline units and Battleline units would unlock everything else. Could use a variables on the keywords so that certain units could unlock more. For example a chapter master might be Character (3) while an apothecary might be Character (1). Same could be done for Battleline stuff so armies like IG would unlock units at a rate that fits their army composition.

Do 500 point games even like...work? Why not just play Combat Patrol at that scale? Me and a buddy play the shit out of 4th ed Combat Patrol and it's great fun.
400 Point Limit.
No 2 Plus Saves.
No high armour on vehicles (no more than 33 or something I believe)
No more than 2 wounds on an Independent character etc
So I'm curious about how it works in 10th at such low points.

It's basically a never-ending maze of orgies, fleshpits, breweries, feasting halls, slave pits, breeding farms and chemlabs that all stretch out from the cavernous Hall of Cacophony that forms the core of the vessel.
The warbands Noise Marines dwell here, ever refining their music and practicing their art with an obsession bordering on mania, for these Noise Marines believe that if they find the right note, and play it loud enough at the right time in the right place, they can open a path into the heart of Slaanesh's palace and kneel at the feet of the Prince himself.

>Inhabited world: Oracleus Minor, Knight world/death world, former hive world.

>Oracleus was the site of a 3 way battle between various renegade forces during the scouring. Most of the world was destroyed by orbital bombardment from one of the involved parties. The perpetrator’s identities have since been lost to time. However the scars of that bombardment, massive canyons, abandoned hive cities, and ancient derelict warmachines still remain in the deep desertified wastelands of the world.

>The planet was recolonized after The Scouring but devolved into a Feudal World of hardscrabble scavenger nomads and feudal farmer communities. Limited terraforming was performed by Forge World Tejana as part of a pet project of the fabricator general of the forgeworld at that time. The local feudal lords were cultivated into Imperial Knight houses, Ostensibly loyal to the Forge World. In return for periodic delivery of new knight mechs Oracleus Minor exports archaeotech scavenged from the abandoned hive sprawls that dot its wastelands as well as agricultural goods grown on its plateaus.

>House Dylgado is the ruling knight house, with several smaller houses scattered across the planet’s twenty seven inhabited plateaus. There are an additional fifty four mesas, poorer than the plateaus but settled and cultivated.
>>
>>97435447
>The house’s head is also the planetary governor: His Majesty Gustav Herman Karl von Dylgado. Though the Coal Hearts do have a representative on the planetary council they don’t interfere with local affairs and are primarily observers, the chapter shares the rights and privileges of a Knight House legally. Disputes between the chapter and Knight Houses are kept internal and overstepping one’s bounds are severely punished.

>Oracleus Minor’s terrain consists of huge plateaus in the mountain ranges and lowland mesas made habitable by mechanicus servitor terraforming millennia ago. The lowland regions consist of vast desert wastelands split into a jigsaw by miles long and deep canyons called Glass Trenches. The Glass Trenches get their name from the mirror finish shine on their sides, the soil having been fused into glass during the long ago bombardment that carved them out. These canyons extend deep into the planet’s crust. Periodically earthquakes tear through the network of canyons revealing fallen cities swallowed up when the world was bombarded, as well as considerable mineral wealth. A thin band of temperate forest exists near the edge of the Sea of O’mehs close to the planet’s equator but it is inhospitable due to the heavy metals found in most Oraclean native life. The Sea of O’mehs is one of the last large bodies of water on Oracleus, all that remains of a once vast ocean.

Imperial Navy is the coolest part of 40k.
That is all.
>>
>>97435453
>The habitable plateaus and mesas are controlled by the Knight houses and their feudal kingdoms. Huge abandoned hive cities are found in the wastelands, remnants of the past civilization that once covered Oracleus Minor, long abandoned due to damage. Small tribes of nomadic freedmen, mutants, and Orks inhabit the lowlands and deep deserts. These groups often prey on would-be treasure hunters as they try to eke out a living away from the boot of the Knight houses. Despite the danger of raiders, a thriving salvage industry exists. Managed by knight house guilds funding Yeoman scavengers to mine the ruins and coordinated by agents of Forge World Tejana. Such workers are unimaginatively referred to on the world as Diggers and also serve as a lowborn militia for their Knight overlords. These expeditions often encounter hostile or downright malevolent forces in the deep trenches, requiring them to be very clever and careful when exploring. Sufficient finds from long sealed facilities have seen some men elevated to Knighthood. However, corrupted or demented tech horrors also lurk in the abandoned and forgotten cities. The dangerous nature of their work has bred a well armed and well disciplined subculture and their children are often selected for recruitment by the Coal Hearts. A disproportionate number of the diggers are descended from the Bondforged of the chapter who have left its service for one reason or another and settled on Oracleus Minor as Yeomen.

What's even the future of classic daemonic units in 40k? I mean all the kits besides Vashtorr (technically a CSM codex unit) are packaged as AoS releases. Chaos Daemons seems to have run its course as a codex army. The marine armies limit the number and types of daemonic units that can be included. I'm not sure what to expect here.

>ACTUS POST MORTEM

>It is the solemn duty of the Mortisanctus to strike the heads off of those who walk in darkness, just as Saint Alicia Dominica severed the head of the tyrant Vandire. Decapitation alone, however, may not ensure the destruction of a witch. For such an unholy life to be wholly expunged, the sisters of the Order of the Argent Shroud hold that the body must be immolated in holy fire, its ashes cast into the lightless void. The head must be gathered, its eyes and tongue cut out and its mouth filled with rose wafers before being buried in consecrated ground. Only then shall the spirit of the heretic be condemned to the eternal damnation it has earned. Celestian Insidiants of the Bloody Rose, meanwhile, believe that the actual annihilation of a corrupt soul can only be achieved through the quartering of the live subject and the burning of their heart. These are but two of the scores of methods by which the witch may be denied rest and condemned thereafter to a fiery oblivion of their own making.

It's actually rare that a chapter planet is also a knight world. However you solved it, I don't know, but knight worlds are right next to Mars in sovereignty, and Marines are the planetary governors of their worlds, which are tax free themselves (so long the chapter itself pays the geneseed)

So the idea was that the knight houses gave the marines equal rights to a knight household in planetary governance afte the marines rescued them from an ork invasion early in their history. The chapter technically doesn’t have a legal homeworld. Both they and the knight houses have long been beholden to the local forge world. The Knights are outright vassals, while the chapter are technically freer.

There have been a few petitions made to have the world declared their chapter homeworld but they’ve all been denied so far. The marines mostly stay off world aside from occasional visits. The knights use the chapter as an outlet for spare heirs and bastards to remove from succession while still bringing them honour.

The planet pays its tithe to the forgeworld and local sector government but that basically just consists of occasional knight deployments and agricultural goods and the like.

The chapter keeps bastions on a lot of the mesas and plateaus, but they’re staffed by chapter servants and the like.

Very well.
It was an old, once prosperous, port and warehouse district o Commoragh that had been let to rot and ruin for centuries as the powers shifted and Vect rose to power leaving the local and accessible webway portals less plied. An area wracked with poverty and gangs all squabbling over their own little feuds, just an insignificant has-been speck of post-industrial abandonment.
That is until the Obsidian Rose took an interest and reached out to a few of the major players, inviting them to tag along on raids on the condition they play nice together, making them work together, plying them, using the forgotten geography an new friends for moving things in and out of the city.
Few centuries later, it's still a wrecked shithole, but things are ordered and the Briar and Thorn rule completely (under Obsiian Rose patronage who ae tooootaaaaallllly not pulling strings) keeping most of the bloodshed off of the steets (unless you'e not local) and in the arenas.

I based it loosely off of a local spot, pic related.

Question involving Precision
So my Emp Children Tormenters shot at Logan Grimnar and his Termie crick. A single bolter shot managed to go through all the saves and damage Logan 1.
Since Logan is now damaged does that mean all my Noisemarines shots who will shoot afterwards is going to land on him directly?

Hey guys, Collage anon here. It's time for the collage anchor posts.
This month's theme was bikers/cavalry
I'll try to make an anchor post each thread until the deadline but I'll check the archive too if you miss my posts.
Before I start the poll I have a suggestion. The last few themes have been a little too niche for many. I was thinking we could do an open theme next month. Anything goes. Does that sound good or do you prefer doing the poll like usual? Give me your input.

Assuming you work 9-5, 5/7, start off by designating one day a zero-internet day. A day off of the net opens up so much free time that it's depressing to look back upon how much is wasted.
Like take your Sunday, no 4chan, no Twitter, no whatever-the-fucks, eat a good breakfast, knock out a chore or two, it probably won't even be noon by then, spend two-three hours on your hobbying.
Time management is a skill, learn what you do that wastes your time and learn to remove it.
And rom personal experience, the net at large is the worst waste of time.
>>
>>97436534
Unless they errata’d it that seems like a correct reading of the rules on allocating attacks and precision. Remember the Tormentors that make the shot do have to actually see Logan and you can’t just say you’re shooting into him when the guys shooting are behind a wall still.
>>
>>97436534
According to page 39 of the rules, even if the leader has taken damage you still don't allocate wounds to them.

"Each time an attack sucessfully wounds an Attached
unit, that attack cannot be allocated to a Character
model in that unit, even if that Character model
has lost one or more wounds or has already had
attacks allocated to it this phase."
