>>97445354TQ: signed up for a Legion tournament but backed out. Pic related
>>97445357I like the concept of the Starhawk, but I have to say that I personally don't like how it looks. Which sounds stupid, because I don't have anything against Hammerhead-looking starships generally, there's just something about the Starhawk I can't quite reduce into words that makes it ugly to me.
>>97445215Were the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games not arcadey? Were they closer to Ace Combat-style simucade? They're before my time.
>>97445406X-Wing and TIE Fighter were a lot more like actual space sims. A joystick was 100% needed and you were still using the keyboard for a shitload of commands and settings while flying. If you were really lucky you could take a missile to your TIE fighter but you would be severely crippled and need to return to base. Usually being in a crippled TIE meant you had another missile or an X-wing jockey coming in to finish you off before you got to the carrier. You learned to fly erratic, speedmatch your target and keep an eye on your front and rear radar screens at all times.
need me a girl like Danni Quee frfr
>>97445369>thought about getting back into legion>realized I have to rebuy all the fucking cards and tokens and shitNo thanks
>>97445783I'll be damned. I sometimes forget that proper flight sims were once a powerful genre, just like RTS.
>>97445944X-Wing, TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance are pretty cheap on GOG and there are good mods out there to upgrade the graphics. Not really to modern 4KHD but at least to be palatable for modern audiences
>>97445944There are more flight sim enjoyers now than there ever were. Problem is normgroids polluted the gaming space and multi-billion dollar companies killed all the AA ones that made fun niche games
Pantorans in Empire service, yay or nay? She's part of a TIE interceptor garrison on a biomedical research station on a outer rim ice world. The base is researching the Emperor's Plague anti-human virus under Evir Derricote
>>97446314No real opinion on pantorans but damn that is that one sexy TIE Interceptor camo scheme.
>>97445215>Most of us expected a X-Wing/TIE Fighter/X-Wing Alliance style gameplay and instead we got World of Tanks arcade in space.I really think that a co-op oriented version of this would have been more successful.
>>97446314Interesting idea could work if this is some imperial remnant who desperate for anyone to join their ranks maybe? Also made me wonder why the Empire didn't allow more near-human species into their ranks like Thrawn but then again he was allowed in because of palps and he was a skilled tactician. Back on topic, most are near-humans are human enough either with a different skin color or tiny features like ear shape, different facial features or cover in spots for all we know but can still wear a imperial uniform without having to make costly tailored made uniforms and armor to fit different alien physiologies
>>97446314Near-Humans should serve in the Imperial forces.
>>97445354No. Next time pick a TQ that doesn't make me sad.
>>97446314Pantoran's i'd say would be a maybe. Mostly because the Pantorans seem like the kind who would be like Alderaan in the "We are not Rebels, but we still oppose the Emperor's constant attempts to crack down on planets for having the gaul to "Exist without their citizens being brutally murdered"" Then again, there's always outliers.>>97447432Partially agree. I'd say Twi-Leks are probably a no, due to them not being Near-Humans. Near-Humans are those who, with the right make-up could pass for human. Pantorans being a prime example. No way to really cover up the head-tentacles.
>>97446314Isn't there an option in Star Wars Squadrons to make the player (Titian 3/Flight Baron/Case Kassandora) a Pantoran?
The Pantoran was a multiplayer skin onlyBut Lost Stars had a human with green hair, Bertroff Hissa (barely canon, apparently a hybrid) and the green-haired sharp-toothed Imperial from Lop & Ocho. They probally take any near-human who can fit in a suit, and that probably slants towards very few and hybrids.
>>97447450>I'd say Twi-Leks are probably a noThey serve a crucial role as morale boosters.
>>97445369Why?
During the time of the reign of the Galactic Empire, what thing or things could go wrong in an imperial officer’s career that, rather than fire them, or kill them, or just pretend they don’t exist and let their career rot. They are made a Moff; a Moff of an “armpit of the galaxy, populated by filthy, inbred dirt farmers too stupid to know the difference between Ham Radio and fairy magic”. The idea is that the guy’s own ambitions are turned into a monkey’s paw. His job has become a dead-end because theirs just no position higher to climb to (without risking a charge of treason) but it’s without any of the perks that come with it, he’s still seen as a nobody by his peers, gets few if any accolades by the Empire, and the larger galaxy has never heard of him. Just shoved in the box with the barest of resources and put in the basement, nobody honestly even interested to see if he fails or succeeds.
>>97448782Retarded nepobaby that did a bunch of petty crimes when he was a teen, but his military parent (or parents) is too politically connected for him to get thrown into the woodchipper that is the imperial army.Like, if Tarkin had another son whose hobby was going out clubbing, then raping and killing alien chicks he brings home. He's not done anything bad enough to be killed off (without pissing Tarkin off), but he's enough of a stain on the family honour that he needs to be sent away to (hopefully) die or fail badly enough that there's a good excuse to kill him.
>>97448643Need to brush up more
>>97448782It could be by choice. Either fatigued or actively avoids politicking and conflict. Get in, get my pension, get out.
>>97445924Just use tabletop admiral
>>97448989no better way than playing tbqh
>>97448782NTA, but do you watch Feral Historian?
>>97449087That's the plan. Been getting more casual games in.
How much cortosis metal would it take to shut down a lightsaber? I assume a single wire's worth wouldn't do the job, but obviously the energy to mass ratio it can disrupt isn't exactly one of those details any writers laid out.Similar question for beskar, how little metal would it require to safely block a lightsaber strike or two?
>>97445354So... what's the deal with Shatterpoint nowadays? Is the game as dead as the retailers make us think it is, or AMG has something up their sleeve? What's next for the game?Also... they haven't released a Luke Skywalker mini for that illustration, have they? Nor Yoda, nor the Emperor, although it would be the slowest mini there should be in the entire game.
>>97449502>they haven't released a Luke mini for that gameThe illustration is the same as the Vader and Luke models when they are posed together. There is no Yoda or Sheev though.>Is the game deadI think it just depends where you are, its fine where I am, slowed down a bit because of SP being put on the back burner for Legion/MCP but still get new people now and then. Wish we got more, another core set based on OT would be nice, I think alot of people skip if they dont care about TCW anakin/ahsoka/maul/ventress
>>97449561>>97449502>what's nextQui-gon squad which people are excited for, and sequelshit and ahsokashit
>>97449561>another core set based on OT would be niceI feel you man. The game is so TCW centric that it even introduced me to the series, too bad the underwater world arc killed my momentum watching it. I'm looking forward the new trilogy models, I guess we're months away to be able to reenact Qui Gon and Obi vs Maul, I don't get why it took so long.
>>97448827Interesting >>97449040Could’ve been, but for what I have in mind no. No absolutely needs to be a curse.>>97449088Never heard of him
>>97445354>Batman vs Robin while Joker watching, only with lightsaberzfuck all is recycled crap
>>97449890meds?
>>97449890>Batman vs Robin while Joker watching, only with lightsaberzThe fuck are you talking about? That's Mufasa vs the Joker, while King Pellenor watches.
>>97449890It is CLEARLY Darth Luke battling his rebel clone Luuuke while Emperor Snoke watches
Which starfighters are canonically the fastest, but limiting the selection to just the ship's in X-Wing?These are the ones I think are the fastest, does anyone know what order they should be in and if there are others to add?RZ-2 A-Wing, RZ-1 A-Wing, TIE Interceptor, TIE Silencer, E-Wing, Fang Fighter, TIE Defender, TIE Advanced V1, TIE Advanced X1, Naboo N1, TIE Whisper, Droid Tri Fighter, TIE/ba Interceptor, Eta-2
>>97448081Has there been a “twi’leks are not lewd” meme variant of the “elves are not lewd” meme yet?Would love me a qt twilek gf to start a family with.
>/swco/ is backWell fellas thank you for hosting me in these turbulent yearsventressfag you stay, i go, no following
>>97452994I was already there
>>97447758>>97447792Multi-player let you make a Zeltron TIE pilot, too
>>97452954that would be a good drawfag request, anondon't let your memes be dreams
>>97455553>imagekek
>>97445354What did the human condition mean by this?
>>97453786Nucanon Zeltron are the opposite of how they were.Instead of being horny hedonists, they all have enormous self-control from being able to turn their pheremones on/off and know when someone else is doing it.
>>97456374I like to play the bad guy so others can be the hero they want to be. That’s probably the case with many people who chose empire. Unless I’m missing some context.I will admit that I’d trade a comfy powerful empire position for consistent twilek and other hot aylmao sexy times though.
>>97445354I kinda like the idea of doing an RPG where each member of the party is the captain of their own ship, focusing more on fleet engagements and blockade running than just the usual "You're 5 guys in the Not-Milennium Falcon."I like the idea of each member of the group managing their ship, as well as sending their own crew on missions between sessions. Spending money on upgrading their crew, buying mission specialists, mercenaries, replacing fighters and repairing the ship rather than just new weapons and personal gear. Every so often, the captains need to come together to lead a ground assault mission and stuff, but the real meat and potatoes is managing your ships, cooperating with each other in fleet actions, managing equipment and trying to stay 1 step ahead of The Empire or Separatists or New Republic, depending on the faction you're playing as.Has anyone ever tried this? How well does it actually work?
What are the best EU books? Ignoring the Thrawn trilogy and Revenge of the Sith Novelization.
>>97457222Shatterpoint, Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, Bane Trilogy
>>97457297I should've said excluding Shatterpoint and Bane trilogy as well, but Shadows of Mindor is good? I vaguely recall reading it years ago but I don't remember.
>>97456374Empire has cooler uniforms. There's a reason why stormtroopers are iconic but the rebel stupid hat brigade aren't.
>>97457563Why do the bad guys always have the cooler looks anyways?
>>97457586Good guy mooks are meant to be jobbers so the cool heros can save the day.
>>97457586They're supposed to look intimidating, which also tends to look cool. The stormtrooper armor is designed to make you see them as faceless, impersonal instruments of the Imperial war machine, rather than individual people that you might feel bad for when they inevitably get killed by the heroes, but that stark monochrome colorscheme and face-concealing helmet design are also really memorable and iconic. Meanwhile the good guys are supposed to look relatable and not too scary, and should have their faces exposed so you can see their expressions and view them as people instead of faceless mooks, but that also means they tend to be stuck with some variety of generic soldier uniform, possibly with a silly hat.The clone troopers are kind of an exception, but that's because they were supposed to literally be disposable interchangeable mooks, who ended up developing more personality both in- and out of universe.
>>97457608I agree.>>97457737That’s actually a good explanation. Thank you.>clone troops being disposable mooks developed amazing personalitiesI always found that strange that characters intended to be relatable with personalities end up being flatter than wooden planks and yet the ones intended to be disposable mooks ended up having amazing character in writing. It is kind of like how writers accidentally make the heroes assholes and the characters readers are supposed to dislike likeable. What causes this and what is the name for this phenomenon if one exists? The big Star Wars example is that purple haired lady in the last Jedi.I wonder if Ryan Johnson deliberately wrote her to be a bad example of a leader to see how many idiots would defend her online for him to laugh at.
>>97457480>Shadows of Mindor is good?yeah, it has characters from shatterpoint in it as well
