One of the larger independent hobby stores in the world ( accounting for up to 2% of all GW global sales ) did an interview. Actually kind of worrying news out of Spain, although that was traditionally Fantasy country I guess but still.
>>97447862oh well, guess age of sigmar is over. you can leave the thread now faggot
>>97447862I wouldn't look too deep into it. Spain, to my knowledge, was one of the only places pre-End Times where WHFB 8th edition was actually thriving, so it's to be expected that the game will do well over there, especially with the boost in fans of the setting after stuff like Vermintide, TW:WH, and the launch of TOW.As for "AOS has a bad time since TOW released," I don't really buy that. AOS is still a top 10 contender in sales for gaming miniatures worldwide, while TOW has dropped off the list since release (though admittedly the list is skewed by the inclusion of TTRPG minis like D&D Frameworks and Nolzur's). I'd argue gaming activity is also a good metric for a game's health and, at least anecdotally, I tend to see more AOS games at my FLGS than I do TOW.I don't think TOW is doomed to die again like some people think, but I do think that it's not going to surpass AOS if only by virtue that rank-and-flank games are a niche in an already niche hobby, so even with updated models instead of being the AOS retirement home, the game will always lag behind in sales.
>>97447862
>>97447752>>97447720Why are you posting Morathi's friends?
>>97447927>gaming miniatures worldwide, while TOW has dropped off the list>>97447930A lot of people here seem to confuse this list as being a global list. When this is a third party distributor survey that gathers data from an unknown number of third party FLGS in the USA that choose to opt in. It really isn't as definitive or valuable as many people seem to think it is.
>>97447930>>97447927You can use tournament attendance which is a better indicator than anecdotal FLGS attendance. If that was the case, Warcry would be the third biggest GW game as we have a thriving Warcry scene
>>97447942even a limited amount of north america is more valuable sales data than all of europe combinedsorry budand curious that you're saying that in regards to actual hard data and not to some guy going "well I heard from somebody who knows somebody that one LGS in spain said they sold cathay like hotcakes"
>>97447862Fake.Know how I can tell? It implies TWW faggots and ratclick yiffs buy minis.
>>97447953No it’s more like, here’s a store that accounts for 1/50 of all sales of Warhammer in the world did an interview and I am posting what they said as fact. That’s the key difference. You can quantify how significant their numbers are. You can’t for the survey because they don’t provide their methodology (probably because it would be called out as worthless and would no longer be seen as a value add for their sub).
>>97447965skaven have always been one of the top 5 most popular armies tourist-kun
>>97447862Well I guess now we know why Cathay is about to get their second wave like 6 months after their first. Now they will have a bigger range than some AoS and 40k factions with 6 months of releases.
>>97447976And the ones buying the Skaven minis are not the same ones as the secondaries glazing TOW because they played Vermintide 2 on their pee sea, projection-kun. It's pretty obvious you felt called out judging by the response lmao
>>97447992>u-umadgo back lmao
>>97447995>doesn't deny itGG no re secondary-kun
>>97447972Yes I'm sure somebody posting something like "they made the maths" is a really reliable sourceProvide actual statistics like the ivc2 charts (yes they still count even though they debunk your statements and hurt your feelings) and not some interview with some nobody cares sp*niard shop that SWEARS they're selling 2% of all GW sales globally
>>97448003Uh yeah, some store is lying about being one of GW’s biggest customers in public, in order to spread false rumours about sales of age of sigmar. Right…meds
>>97448025>The well known and widely distributed ICV2 survey is all lies though, trust me bro
>>97448025>my guy would never lie>but this organization is TOTALLY all lies and even if it wasn't this spanish store matters more
>>97448047I’m not saying it’s lies. I am saying without knowing the methodology a survey is effectively worthless yes. It fails at the very first step of academic verification. It’s a quantitative survey that doesn’t provide numerical context.
>>97448047AoS, game wise is definitely in a slump, but Nurgle preorders doing numbers means people still love the models. It's just pathetic someone wastes their time posting a concern troll in hopes of stirring shit up.
>>97448058>It's not lies, it's just obviously false and unbelievableBro, the ICV2 survey is older than you are, stop coping.
>>97448072You are legit double digit IQ if you can’t comprehend what I am saying
>>97448076No, I understand exactly how retarded your argument is, especially in the context that you are simultaneously defending to the hilt some random forum post proclaiming the immense data reliability of an informal interview with a singular hobby store in Spain.
can you spergs go discuss sales numbers on reset era or somewhere people give a shit about this?
>>97448175The TWW thread isn't on /tg/ though :(
>>974480612/3s of the nurgle range is out of stock, helsmiths went out of stock, aos sells just fine, they're selling through everything they're shipping. doomposting is pure low effort gaslighting when you can just click over to the GW webstore and everything is out of stock
Would I ever really want the models in the Maggotkin Spearhead? It has no Rotswords which is a big draw for the army to me, but it does have Nurglings and those seem fun too.
What army does she play?

I will force all slop posters to wander the Earth, forced to watch their souls succumb to my will, such is the power of Nagash.
>>97447936They are great eye catchers for disscusion on the future dark elves .
>>97448460If you don't already have nurglings and are looking to play nurgle, then you'll want nurglings for sure. Apparenlty the beast of nurgle is really buff in the new book so if your interested in that and don't hate rotmire creed, it might be worth a pick up. This box is unfortunately one of those "we need to get all these extra models off the warehouse shelves" boxes and not one that's particularly thematic or logically built.
>>97448597Which is Morathi
>grok_image_1769339584982Slop
>>97447862Ah yes, Spain. The events and opinions of Spain truly shape the world and we should 100% care.
>>97448722I see. I’m thinking on holding out for a Spearhead or even Battleforce with the Rotswords or Blightkings then, I can find discounted Nurglings relatively easy.
>>97448921>>97448943I find the 2% figure dubious. The US and UK are about 80% of the world's GW sales, so of the remaining 20%, this LGS, in Spain, makes up more sales than any Warhammer store?
>>97448992All of Europe is 23%.A single Spanish store, makes up 10% of it. Against all the Warhammer stores, all the other LGS.I find this incredibly hard to believe
>>97447976Not really, seems like a fairly recent thing.
>TQ: nah, still loyal to my OBR overlords.
>>97447986Yes, because GW can simply plan and design a new wave within few months.
>>97448921>>97448992Spain does seem to have a relatively outsized wargaming community, I remember their killteam tournament numbers being higher than the us at some point which is crazy. Also very much grog country, lots of historicals, like 3rd/4th edition 40k, that sort of shit. Tow too is probably doing better there, relatively speaking, then in the usa or the rest of western yurop. But yeah 2% of warhammer sales seems a bit ridiculous, keeping in mind that they probably only distribute in continental europe, they'd have to be responsible for like 10% of yuropean sales which seems hard to believe.>>97449134In fairness cathay already went through the first few stages of the design process years ago for total war, the designs we see now are basically the exact same. Keep in mind that cathay wave 1 was rather small; 1 infantry kit, 1 cavalry kit, 1 artillery kit, 2 hero kits and 3 centrepieces. That's smaller than idoneth was. This second wave is two more infantry kits, two characters, and a specialist gunner unit. That brings them somewhere between launch kharadron and lumineth. Hopefully gw learns from this that if you have a small fledgling faction you'll go further by adding a small Infantry kit or two instead of a shitty hero every edition, even if the immediate value of a character is better for them.
>all these people treating TGA posted source as hostileLmaoing at you newfriends, that's from an AoS forum.
Planning start AoS thinking Cities of Sig for humanity fuck yeah , Seraphon for ancient alien memes and dinosaurs with lasers or should I wait to see what the rumoured dwarf hold faction is like?
>hostileno, we're laughing at it for the unsourced bullshit that it is
>>97449245https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2qTXBuEoJQ&t=1sWhich when cross referenced with >>97449037adds up to about 10% of european revenue, which is about 2% of global revenue. >>97447729Kek
>>97449258>multiple shots of people playing in their store>all TOWwhat the fuck
>>97449258>corroboratedno, it's one store making a claim
>>97449282https://youtu.be/d2qTXBuEoJQ?t=850 a store that sells AoS and has no interest in seeing AoS sell less so TOW can sell more. It's the largest store in Spain (started as an online warehouse now with a storefront). You can watch the part I linked, it's like 30 seconds and you can see there's no animosity to AoS and he even chuckles at how old some TOW models are.
>>97449291>no look here's the same guy saying this with zero evidence that proves it's corroboratedso you just didn't know what that word meant when you tried to act so high and mighty
>>97449282>>97449291They have 10 storefronts all over the country, it's an independent chain not a single store.
>>97449258That's not corroborated at all. Most GW revenue comes from their own stores. Even if we assume half, it still doesn't add up
>>97449291Do you know what corroborated means?
>>97449291>so this aisle is all warhammer?>yeah warhammer 40k, the classic>wait but this aisle is also warhammer??>oh yeah that's age of sigmar, essentially they changed fantasy into that. They've got some great models see. Anyway it's not at its best because a couple years back they released this [old world] which is basically the same thing, look they found a way to sell these old miniatures haha [...]The whole thing is legit like a 15 second side exchange, pretty funny. That being said it's not exactly hard to believe that aos is -relatively speaking- not as in demand as in pre-tow days, they are very similar products at the end of the day, as much as both sides like to shitfling.I'm curious about the 9 million = 2 percent of gw revenue thing because the math does work out, but don't they clearly sell a bunch of non-gw shit too? I checked out their front page and it's a fuckton of boardgames and whatnot, took a bit of scrolling to see warhammer.
>>97449364Every now and then some people need to be reminded that the greatest competition any of GW's wargames have to contend with are the other wargames also produced by GW.
Why are you mad that TOW could possibly sell more than AoS in a few areas?
>>97449496That's not even what they're saying, just that aos is not selling *as* much as before. Though if there's one place I can see tow doing exceptionally well it's spain. Also places like poland or russia always seemed more fantasy focused.
>>97449237you may be waiting on the dwarfs for a while, that could still be a year or two off, and they may also delete some of the exisitng fyreslayer units if you decide to get a jump start on them right now with fyreslayers. that said, its very easy to just proxy one fyreslayers model as another, and some of those models may be out of production soon, so if you want to grab the models for painting your window may be closing. cities have really wonderful new models, probably one of the most characterful armies in age of sigmar. they can be a bit of a bear to play on the table though. any individual units stats are quite mediocre, so its a combined arms army that requires melee working in concert with ranged, units recieving multiple overlapping buffs, combos, its one of the more thought and reading intensive armies in the game to squeeze performance out of. not impossible, but your units dont tend to with 1v1 against most other comparable units from other armies, and require that teamwork to pull ahead. seraphon on the other hand got a rework in this most recent edition that took them from being a complicated synergy driven combo army to a very straightforward beatstick army, where its units all stand quite well on their own and require very few buffs or synergies to work together, rather overcoming the opponent through raw speed, bulk, and damage. sarus warriors pack a very high health count for a very low cost and have a competent combat profile attached to that. kroxigor each have as much health and damage as most infantry heroes for other armies, and seraphons cavalry can be blindingly fast, with the aggradons a brawler combat cavalry and the skink cavalry being more of a fragile hypersonic missile capable of making 30 inch charges in a turn. however, the army can lack some of that combo driven A+B+C gameplay and nuanced technical specialists units that make armies like cities of sigmar more dynamic.
>>97449511>just that aos is not selling *as* much as before.if there was better cross compatibility it could only sell more than before, gw is shooting themselves in the feet
>>97449511So, nothing to get mad about. If there were true competition between AoS and TOW inside of GW, it could have to positive side effect that the AoS team finally gets their asses up and produce proper new waves for existing armies and such.
>>97449555why do that when new armies sell more?
>>97449237>>97449514What's this about a rumoured dwarf hold faction? Got any more info on that? I built the new dwarf king with shieldbearers for old world recently and it was awesome so any new traditional dwarfs would be great.
>>97449562I doubt that hashut sold better than the new waves for SBGL and Nurgle.
>>97449582it sold out, which means helsmiths sold at least as well as they expected, they werent sitting on unsold boxes during launch week. hell half of their range is STILL out of stock 3 months later
>>97449569not much, rumored to be a combo of fyreslayers and dispossessed, the exisiting fyreslayers range will lose its most basic vulkite berserker unit as well as a handful of its redundant foot heroes, and will get joined to a new dwarven element that represents the broader dwarven society within AoS. if you are expecting copy and paste old world dwarfs i would maybe temper that expectation, the only teaser we've seen so far is a front tabard which still very much has fyreslayer design themes. that said, if the units end up being similar enough there's no reason you couldnt run the old dwarf kits as new units as well.
>>97449598>sold at least as well as they expected,Which doesn't mean it sold more than new waves for existing armies, which was the original claim.
>>97446755You could have added a bit of yellow or orange to the red to highlight the cape more
>>97449569Like >>97449621 said the basic gist is that fyreslayers are getting souped with essentially a new (sub)faction of more "normal" dwarfs. Fyreslayers themselves are also rumoured to get some new stuff, like a new magmadroth. They're apparently losing their basic berzerkers and like 2 or 3 foot heroes, though if they'll get a replacement for those berserkers is unclear as of now. There's a whole recap of the rumours over on TGA, here : https://www.tga.community/blogs/entry/2487-rumours-update-16-january-2026/Just search for the fyreslayer section. Keep in mind not all rumours are created equal, you can count on this Whitefang guy to be pretty on the money, Boole is usually pretty close but can get some details wrong (e.g. he thought the cankerborn were some form of troggoth), and the Reformation guy is yet to be proven.Picrel is supposedly a blurred pic of the new magmadroth posted by the last guy.
>Spain gives citizenship to million undocumented Africans>suddnely ToW spikes thereI'm noticing a pattern
>>97449632it doesnt mean it sold less either, and we cant know since GW doesnt release sales numbers for individual factions. so you cant know that it didnt sell better. your claim is just as baseless as any other

>>97447862>2021GW will go into bankruptcy soon for sure! By 2023 there won't be a GW! They're a hobby store that focuses on railway kits and such, which is an entirely different community. 72mm tank kits, terrain, etc. They sell Warhammer at RRP so everyone knows better and if they don't they'd just buy it from GW itself? GW will eventually bottleneck onboarding but it's currently a microcosm of the global economic situation where the ultra wealthy accommodate for over half of commerce so the common man is practically irrelevant. GW obviously isn't in luxury territory but they don't need the cautious consumer.

Both could be true (even if we know the no updates is bullshit). For some armies, IE Skaven, Brets, GW WASNT releasing many models. For others (the elves), they started getting new models every edition. Empire got a big re release in 7th, Dwarfs kept get getting new stuff (7th and 8th), Ogres got a bunch of new stuff in 8th, fucking Beastmen got a big update, TK and VC got a lot of new stuff.....So that 'they never got updates' is a fucking lie. As for the 'outsold by paint and tacticals marines,' I have never seen the figures. Tactical marines probably did outsell a lot, fuck they probably outsold most of 40k as well
>>97450501>second most important character of the setting>character whose claim to fame is being the face of aos' shittiest box set and edition (not her fault but still)>literally who character most notable for being the base of tow waac dragon conversionsGee I sure wonder who will win this one
>>97450570>>literally who character most notable for being the base of tow waac dragon conversionsto be fair, being derivative is a good reason to be put on a covernormal fantasy people might pick up the book because they see something closer to what they find conventionally cool, 40k people might also do the same because the dude is practically a chaplain to their eyesand at the same time he's also a stormcast, so quintessentially representative of aos as a whole, has a cool dragon, again, representing monsters by which the fantasy side of things distinguishes itself from 40k, and this character alone can spark a conversation regarding the whole iter, both in terms of fluff and development out of the setting, that aos has gone through, since we see him in the first boxset ever, the dragons are part of the 2nd/3rd edition narratives, and the ruination chamber he's basically heralded is at the center of the current edition's presentation.he's not the best model, but he's a good model, and I argue the best choice out of the ones presented.fuck archaon and his refuse of a mount.
>>97450613If these are are only three options, I will have to go with arachaon.I don't like it.But the winged dyke is horrible, and spooky face on dragon looks like garbage (dragon is... Ok, the Stormcast is shit).I honestly think that new hero with the axe (the axe is planted at his feet, it's some Stormcast hero I can't be bothered to remember the name) would look better than all these slop.
>>97450565>Your ends of the spectrum dont correspond to either/or conditions.I meant it in the way that both refer to the state of fantasy sales at the end of its lifespan, the first one being more apologetic towards the setting, the latter more scathing (though I've heard the outsold by marines thing from even the most diehard of fantasy grogs to be fair).Anyway, I'm sure tactical marines were a bestseller, but come on, more than the ENTIRE fantasy range? Closest we get to salea figures is picrel from iirc the chapterhouse lawsuit, which shows that at least the rulesbook for what was I think 7th edition whfb was competitive at the very least with the new marine codex released a couple of years before that (though good lord it actually is close that's quite grim).>>97450613Ionus is meant to be the relictor in mighty battles? Didn't know that. But are we really going to argue that Ionus is more recognizable to fantasy fans than archaon even on his dumb new mount? Come on. My choice would've been ushoran like said before.
>>97450657>forgot the actual picThat's what I get for phoneposting.
>>97450657>Ionus is meant to be the relictor in mighty battles?yep, for all we can say about the failings of aos, a few people working on the fluff are surely trying their best to keep the setting internally interconnected, in the good way.and I'm not saying that the guy is more recognisable than archaon, I'm saying an armored dude on a normal dragon is a conventionally cool fantasy design, archaon by contrast is a bit much.
>>97450664Dear God Space Yiffs are popular.
>>97450657>Ionus is meant to be the relictor in mighty battles? What do you mean, "meant to be?". Even in the oldest AoS novels Ionus was one of the most prominent named characters. Did you just not read the books/lore at all?
>>97450715Barely anyone reads BL slop, and an even smaller proportion read AoS slop.I would guess that more people have listened to 2++ Tough's 'lore' summaries than purchased the fucking books, and those video recaps don't even include all the information, as he deliberately says 'i dont want to spoil it go purchase the novel!!!' so the game of telephone that is BL slop to a SINGLE loreTuber to lazy, idiot slop listener can't even claim to have known the entire situation
Archy had some cool art back in 1e but I wouldn’t use his current model as a cover. It’s really more of an issue with the posing of dorghar itself rather than the design philosophy of it (although I would do some minor alterations).
>>97450737this is some self hating shit now
>>97450689>saying an armored dude on a normal dragon is a conventionally cool fantasy design, archaon by contrast is a bit much.Mhm, fair enough. As for ionus, I guess it makes sense yeah. He's the lord relictor of vandus' chamber. Never connected the dots because unlike vandus, the lord relictor in the box is just that, a lord relictor. Sidenote but wow is the stormcast naming scheme ass. Knight-something-or /ant Latinus Thunder-Hammer.>>97450715I got roped in by malign portents so never bothered with mighty battles, I don't read BL, and only the tomes of factions I play.Though y'know what's funny, I actually think I have the old lord-relictor from that box lying around somewhere, was gifted that one, so I guess I've got an Ionus.
>>97450751Man I'm sorry this is the way it is, but it's the way it is
>>97450918>vandusI've heard khul is supposed to get a new model "soon" but do we know anything about vandy? Hasn't he gone full schizo recently?I really like his model, probably one of the better fatcast. His dracoth looks kind of ass though, it's the weird car-plate armour design they have.
>>97450930I imagin they will come together
>>97450186>Arkhan squatted lmao based
>>97451046Well duh, they wouldn't make him a new model without removing the old one
>>97451046What's really scary is that the ancient carnosaur model is still there instead of the new kroak or slann.I thought they would finally remake that fucker and send the old model back to TOW... If it's in this book I'd assume it is here to stay
>>97451061Can't wait, I fucking hate the dread abyssal kit. Wobbly piece of shit.
>>97451068Why would Kroak be on a page theamed around Suarus???
>>97450930We are all hoping for it, they set it up for the end of 3rd edition but they blueballed us, so it must happen at the end of 4th ed.I think it's one of those moments that could be used to draw a line in the sand and say "we fixed all the mistakes and compromises of aos' launch".
>>97451068>>97451046why are you mongoloids drawing conclusions as if 2 pages are meant to contain everything about a faction?

>>97447862I believe it 3d printing is so good now it is better than anything GW release
>>97451148I'm building an army of them, and as things currently stands I think the only mortal I'll be using the intended model for will be the ritualist and skullcrushers.
>>97451439I know it's a great unclean one and everything but you gotta clean that guy up a little anon
>>97451439Clearly you can't 3D print a tast if you think that pose looks good. And it's looks like more work than the iconic FW guo pose
>>974496991st ed is better. 2nd ed is shit and people stopped playing because of how slop it looks.>>97451439Lots of printing lines. Next time use a lighter or small flame to smooth the surface a bit (sand it for larger areas without much details)
>>97450186Gotta be Ionus for me. Wholly original AoS character that's been around since the beginning and evolved with the setting. Fucking gorgeous model. The bonus for him is that he's an SCE so GW would love to have him on there because they likely still have hopes that SCE will somehow ever be 10% as popular as Space Marines.
>>97451439But that looks bad. Also is it like a meme that anything 3d print MUST be horribly painted with contrast slop?
>>97451439Grim.
>>97446562>TQMaggotkin was one of my first AoS armies getting into 4th! Their new battletome and rules look exceptionally fun (especially seeing the army of renown based around my favorite model, Horticulous Slimux)I've taken a LONG ass break from AoS though, and I want to get back into gamin' once I paint some more models in my Gloomspite Gitz. Way I figure, I'll earn my way to the new Nurgle models once I get these loonies done.
>>97449982It looks kinda like the hoof for a Death Rider horse, but it has fur, while the Death Rider horses are completely hairless. IMHO it kinda looks like a gnashtoof leg, maybe kruleboy kavalry?
>>97450186I kinda want to go with Yndrasta cause I like her but I gotta vote for Ionus, his model is just too fucking cool to not be the cover.
>>97450088My condolences. Hope you don't ever get stuck in a cherry blossom sylvaneth mirror match, but it's about 50% of all the painted sylvaneth army's so I think it'll happen eventually
>>97446746Certainly look like first models
>>97451587No, but anyone who thinks layer lines like in that pic are acceptable clearly doesn't give a rat's ass about how their minis look, and anyone who doesn't give a rat's ass about how their minis look isn't going to put any effort into the paintjob.
>>97449675I didn't make any claim about sales in the first place. That was you.

>>97451756You should be hobbled that's for sure.
>>97451630mhm, good shout, though I think the pose would be a bit weird for gnashtoofs. They have full on claws, while the pic is held very hoof-like
>>97450251This
>>97451804Yeah, that's what throws me off. I've taken a close look at both my death riders and my killaboss on gnashtoof and this rumor image looks like a cross between both. It's got the sort of semi-claw, semi-hoof look of the death rider horses, but the hair on the leg is very gnashtoof like, though gnashtoofs have a more dog-like paw. Weird little model. Interested to see what it ends up being. Maybe it's some sort of hunting beast for the new ogors. They're supposedly getting a new hunter-themed ranged unit to replace leadbelchers.
>>97451756Not either of those anons, but there's a difference between shitting on someone for their creative choices(gay retards do this) and shitting on someone for their mistakes. Pointing out mistake is grounded in constructive feedback whether it's delivered in a constructive manner is a different story, but it comes from a well meaning place. If they were shitting on his colour choices, or his style then I'd agree, that would be bad and gay, and I'd be right there with you. But pointing out layer lines is no different than pointing out mouldlines. It's not a stylistic choice, it's laziness. I'm not making fun of the style of jeans you are wearing, I am making fun of the fact that they are filthy and unwashed.
>>97450757>sidenote but wow is the stormcast naming scheme ass. Knight-something-or /antfun party game : try to connect the stormcast hero to their name!
So for how long Beastmen will remain playable? I have a small army of Bullgors, Cygors and Ghorgons and I want to give them a ride before their rules are gone for good.
>>97452108also worth mentioning that half of these have refreshed versions, or are themselves refreshes. There's also a couple mounted/unmounted versions left out. The true list is like twice as big (and even that is without weird limited edition stuff like the knight-zephyros or errant questor)
>>97452108Lord-Castellant, my beloved...
>>97452128Until the next edition at least, it seems like Beastmen are getting transferred over to the 4 deities.

Can Skaven/Hellsmiths become daemon princes to their respective Gods?
>>97452308I think Ionus would be better from the sole reason that the dragon riding is a true break away from just being Fantasy Marines and a better representation of AoS as a result.

>>97452898>Sidenote but how's the actual game? I feel like /gwsg/ is going to be a bit biased if I ask there. It's incredible but mostly because the community is incredible. Let’s say 5 years down the line the worst case scenario happens and AoS is squatted into a Spearhead type side game. What would you play as your new main game in that case?
>>97454421probably an earlier version of AoS i like
>>97454421I would keep playing whatever version of AoS I like if I'm still playing then. I've spent a good amount of time playing much more obscure games with no dev support and had a great time.
>>97454519>>97454558That’s fair. Which editions of AoS would you guys play? I assume not 4th? I have heard 2nd is the one people most reminisce about but I never tried 2nd.

I started painting the greatest best rat
>>97454597>more durablethey can build that way if you lean into skullcrushers and blood warriors, but you're not talking maggotkin levels of durability. on a scale of 1-10 they're like a 6.5 or 7 on durability with the right units, or a 4 or 5 with more daemon oriented builds...but ogres are like a 2/10 so it will feel much more durable than ogres thats for sure. as far as tech goes, they have a fair amount of it. chain fights, 3d6 charges, flying, prayers, and a flowchart of upgrades, there's more to grab onto than ogres. maybe a bit less than they had in the past but definitely still some room for combos and tricks. they have historically leaned on bloodthirsters though, and that does look to still be the case, so if you are a person who would not want any bloodthirsters, i would reconsider. they make the army function
>>97454872probably the best skaven model, maybe a tossup between vizzik skour and thanquol. if vizzik had a more interesting staff he might win but with that staff as it is i give it to thanquol, particularly 4 brazier thanquol. the motion on the flames is sick
>>97454886i enjoy painting rats, but thanquol is my favorite character so im happy i finally picked him up, i might pick up vizzik for my birthdaythe flames are the part im the most excited to paint, im glad he has all the weapons regardless of what you model
>>97454421Probably 40k or try bolt action I guess. IDK. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
>>97454421I'd probably go back to 40k, I've collect 2 long-neglected factions that are once again in the rumors for a refresh next edition. I'm not expecting shit until it leaks. Hopefully the Starcraft game does well enough to spark a Warcraft game with similar quality minis. Worst comes to worst I can just fall back on painting, but I'd be a lot less enthused about it without a purpose for my projects.
>>97454915>Starcraft game does well enough to spark a Warcraft game with similar quality minisare you talking about an actual starcraft game or the total war 40k game? the total war game is going to be a consolized rts, it's dead on arrival. I woudn't expect anything from that. I'm honestly kind of happy that 40k was the one getting a total war game, we already have enough bad rts games.
>>97454880I'd rather go mortal-heavy with my lists desu. A monster or two is practically a tax to play outside of Spearhead/1k games so it's not the worst thing. The rest is from the perspective of a CoS leader of a region who's just kind of a dick. Not bad enough that you hate him and want to see him lose to ushoran, just kind of cowardly and in denial the whole time. It's pretty boring and the MC's perspective is almost excusable until it gets to the point that FEC are literally at the city gates and the MC says "nuh uh" and just hides in in his castle. It's supremely unsatisfying. A good author would have set up a competent "antagonist" for Ushoran to overcome but instead it's an idiot.
>>97452527Just finished reading the whole thing. Thanks for the Dorfkino, anon. It got me kind of hype for nuDisposessed.Funny little bits of lore inconsistency like the wife being described as having a beard and IDK having hair. Still a really good read, nonetheless.>>97455518Someone did the math and it's actually 15% Ushoran. I really wish GW would stop with these X character novels that barely feature that character. I get that they're incapable of writing a non-human POV, but at least keep the antagonist a surprise in that case. Ushoran's parts were nice, at least, but the book also felt like it had to keep reminding you it's an AoS book with random bits of terminology thrown in.
>>97455315That pic doesn't have them but he has a really good set of old horde orcs with blademasters n shitand a gilnean force as wellI need to trawl more tele groups to find those ones and the scarlet crusade force
>>97455575I mean... If you're willing to pay money you can just go to my mini factory and BUY the bundle.
>>97454028>lava snowmanCute
>>97454872What should I use on skin to give it a bit more shading or detail, instead of just pure flesh color, or should I use a specific color of wash, I usually just use brown or black wash on everything but it usually looks weird on skin, or I accidently let it poolBut since it's skaven skin I want it to look kinda nasty
>>97455884reikland flesh is a nice classic. If you wanna make it greenish you could try poxwalker.
>>97455283the point is getting some cash from 40k players that fall out of gw
>>97455912seconding this, reikland fleshshade works incredibly well on light and tan skin and i use it on my skaven to pretty good effectafter applying the wash and it dries you can also add the same skin color paint to the raised areas to bring the lighter colors to those bits too
>>97455884I really like darkoath flesh for medium brown flesh
I claim this thread for fat bastards
>>97456220Beat it chubby. This is a boner thread.
>>97456059Oh yeah. Also it is quite ironic that gw did the female custodes right now before the Starcraft release, it is like they are asking for 40k tards to abandon ship.
>>97456220Which contrast did you use on the brass, it's a nice tone
>>97456338You really think the people who actually play and paint 40k are the ones claiming theyre quitting due to a lore retcon? Are you new?
>>97456338>it is like they are asking for 40k tards to abandon ship. They talk a big game but these types will never leave. At absolute best a select few will start proonting instead of buying straight from gw but they will never leave the gw 'ecosphere'
>>97456220Could at least slapchop if you wanna sloppa.
>>97455283Funilly enough, Tyranids didn't start looking like the modern iteration until after the first starcraft game came out, its the other way around than you'd think. Obviously sc2's zerg then pulled some influence from the more modern tyranids, though
>>974510794 winged dragons are kino but idk if gw would commit to it over lame pixar dragons. The khorne scorpion is great, I'd be very happy if khul ends up looking like that. By the way his original model is a mighty lord of khorne now right? Like how vandus can also just be used as a lord celestant on dracoth officially.
>>97456783>By the way his original model is a mighty lord of khorne now right?it has always been the same model. khul as of yet never had his own model.
>>97456571I think people severely overstimate the amount of influence starcraft has hadit boils down to raveners, tyranid warriors and tyrants having the larger cresta crest that comes from the xenomorph queen in the first place
NEW THREAD>>97457052>>97457052>>97457052GOOD MORNING I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY
