Seriously, who is this made for? The minis look atrocious, and are giving gw a run for their money in terms of pricing. Are the rules decent at least?

The models are good I dont know what you are talking about. The rules are decent but Ive only played two games. I do agree on the prices though they want crazy money for these kits that are easily kitbashed or 3d printed.

I like the minis personally. System is basically an expansion of Bolt Action so it's far better than anything GW but it's not the best one on the market.

>who is this made for
People who wanna play a sci-fi WW2 game by a bigger publisher.
>>
>>97470401
The models are kind of mixed. Also in about 50% of cases its considerably prefer the older sculpts.
>>
>>97470401
You could convince me those are human Tau troopers, so yeah I suppose it is a rather dogshit aesthetic
>>
>>97470401
its bolt action with added rules so I imagine it’s actually fun rules wise. as for who its for? I guess people who wanna try something new with their bolt action toys or people that say shit like “history is so boring dude” and can’t stomach anything adjacent to reality without it being spiced by a heavy layer of pulp.

I feel like the weird settings always go a little too weird. Like I want WWII with some zombies and the occasionally mech or armored frankenstein with a chaingun, not K47. I want a Weird West with some shamans, ghosts, etc and not shooting at the wendigo from a flying train.

>“history is so boring dude” and can’t stomach anything adjacent to reality without it being spiced by a heavy layer of pulp.

It's this. Warlord realized their historical system where one side was playing le evil Nazis was offputting to the reddit basedjak crowd.

So they repurposed a side game to create a setting where the villains were some Indiana Jones villian occult guys. And the redditors/trannies ate it up. Because they can paint a StuG pink and put Redskull in the cupola and now it's no longer a "Nazi Tank" or whatever mental acrobatics they want to do. But they're still buying a WW2 model kit...

They're Bolt Action rules, which has a great activation system. I have never seen an army get alpha struck so hard on turn one that they can't recover; partly because units can actually react to being fired on (40k used to have this, "go to ground") and partly because the activation system makes it very difficult for one player to do everything they want while their opponent rolls saves and puts models back in the case. It's still 1940k, just look at the names on the book, but it's very 4th-5th pre-Primarus 40k. Vehicles stay on the battlefield as terrain after they're destroyed for example, instead of blinking and disappearing like a videogame.
>who is this made for?
Not me, personally. It's a very pulpy alt-history sort of thing and I'd rather just play Bolt Action. As far as I'm concerned WWII power armor is a tankette.

The prices are kind of crazy relative to the quality of the sculpts and that they are resin. Also I only like about half the sculpts.
Unlike Bolt Action where I find even the old janky sculpts charming (mostly). That’s the biggest stumbling block for me, I don’t like the aesthetics of K47 from what’s been shown so far.

That's why I prefer 1st to 2nd edition of K47(that and the retarded politically correct retcons) - yeah there was loads of genuinely whacky shit in it, but most armies were still largely WW2 stuff in practice.

Of course the real answer to OP's question is
>To be the basis for fanmade Star Wars total conversions because Legion is a gay game for fags who like penis in their bumholes
>>
>>97470401
It's made so Warlord games can continue to sell new product with something where they control the IP.
You can't just sell new versions of the same historical vehicles, even your stupidest pay pig will eventually realize they don't need ten tiger tanks (especially if the game only supports like one or two on the table). This way they can a release new shit forever

Yeah like what is this shit lmao

It's not going to please the historical players
It's not going to please the few weird war type people any more than something like Dust or Wild West Exodus ever did

>(that and the retarded politically correct retcons)
What got retconned with 3rd?
>>
>>97472571
Personally, I don't care for it because it makes no sense regarding military doctrine and economic capacity.

>>97476423
I recall that the Nazis had always been a front for a secret society, which decided to take the reins directly and eradicated the NSDAP at some point during the ongoing war, which is why Berlin's still being bombed in '47 and why the North Italian Fascist state was not overrun.
>>
>>97470401
>GERMAN heavy armor
>alternate world where the 3rd reich uses wonder weapons to hold off the USSR and keep the war going into 1947
>one of them is black
Lmao
>>
>>97470785
oh that does make sense. A gue'vesa squad would be cool.
>>
>>97470401
It WAS for people who want to add a squad of power troopers or Nazi zombies to their normal WW2 army, they're moving away from WW2 now for some idiotic reason.
>>
>>97470401
It is for people who want temu 40k
