Why are grown adults spending their finite lives litigating a label for dice games?
>>
>>97473968
I should probably be more specific. I don't play OSR games but I'm only now noticing most of the OSR generals discussion is focused on what is and isn't OSR. It seems autistic.
>>
you're a dumb faggot retard. never post a thread, or in a thread, again.
>>
>>97473968
Its gotten a lot worse recently. There's been a few years of persistent trolling where a very vocal nogames has been trying to change the general's OP and samefags about it a lot. They tried to present character sheets but they were obviously incorrect, have no play reports or game notes, stuff like that.
Its persistent trolling and many others in the general are tired of it.

The general has had a schizo troll for years, and he will just not fuck off, and the mods won't ban him. Imagine a guy running into the 40k thread for literally years, samefagging conversations with himself about how Call of Duty or World in Flames or 5th ed D&D is 40k, and never, ever fucking off.

I mean, yeah, it would be pretty funny, now that I write that out. But in any case, that's what's happening.

Once in a while he catches a ban or gets a new lobotomy or whatever, and the thread settles down to boring nerds talking about their actual hobby. But here, on the most well-moderated troll-free forums on the internet, that doesn't happen very often.

Wait until you realize religion is just people claiming that their wizard is the strongest.

As opposed to what? Making more money for your boss?

They really shouldn't.

OSR has always been a vague concept with different people having different opinions on what "Old School" really means. The only way you can have a civil discussion about OSR is to accept that different people will come to a discussion with different ideas, and to not be so weirdly autistic about it.

Instead, there's people who are so psychotically close-minded, they've tried every single underhanded method to try and push a singular idea of what OSR means, despite there being countless contradictions with their narrow definition. We end up with a lot of fallacies like the classic No True Scotsman, where a game widely considered OSR suddenly become "Not TRUE OSR" because it contradicts their definition.

This isn't a new problem. Even as far back as 20 years ago, there were schisms and infighting within the OSR community as different factions tried to establish (or oppose) a single definition. At the end of the day, it should be just people discussing older editions of D&D and trying to preserve material that might otherwise be forgotten, and instead we've got the most disgusting examples of grognards desperate to cling to some sacred cows while creating a mythology about a single style that people played and of course it is the style they personally prefer.

lol

because they are like mmorpg addicts they only know how to talk about games they hate

There's (at least) two different schizos that have dedicated their lives to derailing the thread, and for some reason people keep replying to them.

Wait until you realize religion is 90% poor desperate people clinging to hope

You never talk to real fans about their hobbies before have you tourist?

I can guarantee you that at least half the posts you think is your bogeyman isn't him. It's shit-stirrers from the NuSR reddit-discord. They've been actively trolling /osrg/ for at least six years now.
>>
>>97473973
This is obvious bait, there's almost no discussion about that ever happening. There's one guy screeching and trying to force his own definition, and the general's population correcting him and telling him to fuck off. You almost never see any actual discussion, because everyone who isn't a schizo agrees on the definition, just like how you don't see /3eg/ discussing what counts as 3e because it's obvious.

>bogeyman
So, you finally learned to spell it, huh.
>>

Why do you spend your finite life doing anything that is not 100% to my liking?
>>
>the BrOSR have arrived on 4chan
It was kind of inevitable. See, the BrOSR are these retard purists who believe there is a ONE TRVE WAY to play, a way that their lord and savior St. Gary E. Gygax (praise be upon him) ordained.
They're just obnoxious trolls, and if you go to Dragonsfoot, RPG.net, EnWorld, Twitter/Reddit/etc., basically anywhere OSR is discussed, people have identified them and despised them, and here the BrOSR will do anything they can to avoid that label.
The funny thing about BrOSR is despite each one having a ONE TRVE WAY to play, they don't actually agree on what that way is, with varying levels of MUH TRADITION and other bizarre justifications for why fun should be secondary and obeying some dogma should instead be the main focus of playing.
Basically, you know all the great things about arguing about religion on the internet with strangers? The BrOSR have taken all those great flavors and injected them into RPGs.
It's like a donut with a dumpster-juice filling.

There are, at minimum, at least two guys.

In that case you should probably kill yourself before it's too late. Or reform, I mean, either way.

Also, you're not supposed to use greentext when you mean the signature is yourself, as opposed to the person you're replying to.

Oh yeah? And yet you sound totally indistinguishable from the long-term assravaged schizo and have the same bizarre minority opinions? Wow, what are the odds!
