>>97482876>what's your favorite things about the blue bastard?I'm a fag and the Kairics make my willy happy. Pretty simple.>With Tzeentch getting expandedYes, so long as the new units look like Kairics.
my favorite thing about tzeentch is YOU FOOL. YOU MORON. YOU UTTER IMBECILE. GET TRICKED. GET TROLLED. GET BAMBOOZLED. FUCK YOU.

>>97482946Bas....ed? I'm not sure.
>>97482876>With Tzeentch getting expandedThey're getting a pity hero and some pretty cool terrain, wouldn't really call it expansion just yet.Either way, I like tzeentch in theory but in practice the army doesn't appeal to me that much. I do like tzaangors but they don't really evoke "god of sorcerers" that much to me. I think tzeentch is probably the most difficult army for sculptors though, it's just tough conceptually to translate change into a static miniature. Also I think kairics are alright and their idea is funny but as the baseline Infantry of a sorcerer faction they're kind of odd. They're more like a warcry warband type of unit, y'know. Like their whole concept feels more like a one-off gimmick than the backbone of your army.

How is my man nagash doing these days?
>>97482998Fuck you, my liege.pmf9v3.pdf
>>97483001Not in Epstein files. All clear
>>97483016nagash was too autistic to get into womenbut his novels did have him get a boner on a little girl>She was very young, Nagash noted at once, still a long way off the full flowering of her beauty. Her lithe body was clad in glorious yellow silk, brought all the way from the strange land that lay across the seas east of Lahmia. Bracelets of delicate, honey-coloured amber decorated her brown wrists, and a necklace of gold and fiery rubies encircled her slender neck. She had a small mouth and a pointed nose that accentuated her high, fine cheekbones and large, almond-shaped eyes that were the colour of polished emeralds. Despite her youth, she stood beside the empty throne with great poise and dignity. She was serene and utterly radiant. In time, Thutep’s betrothed might become the greatest queen Nehekhara had ever known.>Nagash had never felt beguiled by a woman at any point in his life. The thought of emotional attachment or dependency was repellent to him, and could only be a hindrance to his ambitions, and yet, the moment he saw the queen, Nagash found himself gripped with a terrible, burning desire. His hands, hidden within the depths of his voluminous sleeves, clenched into grasping claws. The thought of the horrors he could inflict on such sanctified flesh nearly swept every other ambition out of the Grand Hierophant’s mind. Only the thunderous cheer of the assembled throng brought Nagash out of his cruel reverie and focused him once more on the matter at hand
>>97483065Fake news, nagash is into older women, like me!

Rumor going around that new CoS stuff will get previewed at Adepticon next month. How we feeling about that? As a CoS player I'd like it, but I feel like they'd probably preview Ogors or something else first.
>>97483065>Supreme necro autist>Can't even appreciate the brown loli queen properlyGod damn Nagash is a fag
>>97483279Damn those are some big fucking wings>>97483334Makes sense for CoS to be first imo, rumourmongers have leaked the whole damn range update already, while for ogres it's still a bit more vague. I expect them to come in the post 40k early autumn, and then dorfs as a christmas/early jan release like nurgle was now. With obr out of the way every other release should just be tomes and pity herors right? That cleans things up nicely for the end of edition releases in the first half of 2027 like they're doing now for 40k.
>>97483334Maybe they do both at the same time, a return to vs boxes?
>>97483334Depends, if we get cogforts that's more hype than anything they could show for ogors. Ideally we get cogforts and a regiment of renown for them, depending on the final design I'd love to do a steampunk conversion with my KO dudes
Do we think any of the remaining death models left over from Fantasy are due for a refresh any time soon? The Corpse Cart and necromancer look old but neither look bad. Vargeists and Hexwraiths are pretty shit though. The Mortarchs must be due for something too.
>>97483395Vs boxes are just existing models plus usually a single new hero or unit to help sell things, with the exception of edition launch boxes of course. They wouldn't release two massive waves in a single box randomly in the middle of an edition like that. Now on that note there are rumours floating around that CoS will star in a sort of spearhead starter box opposite eshin skaven, so like a medium vs box. I think that's a bit more likely as spearhead means around ~3 new units and a hero each, which seems more doable.
>>97483334Not surprising at all, according to all rumors the schedule for big releases is CoS this summer, Ogres in the Fall, Fyreslayers last.
>>97483445New necro would be fun, but there's also lots of options for alt models between all the underworlds stuff and the cursed city guy. They should make sure the updated necro gets a big wizard hat though
>>97483105At the end of that book Nagash seizes the queen, and then violates/tortures her so bad she goes insane, and then uses her to literally violate the covenant between the people and the gods, making the gods abandon the people.
>>97483508I don't like thinking about these things in patterns, because almost every time, when they got to the armies I actualkly care about, the pattern was dropped. Both for the VS boxes, and warcry. Still waiting on that Slaanesh warband...
>>97483361 >>97483556Yeah, that in mind it does make a bit more sense. I'm expecting OBR sometime this month or in March, then Cities preview at Adepticon with a release in May or June. Supposedly summer is supposed to be a new edition for 40K, but I suppose we'll learn more next month.>>97483395There's a sort of VS box rumored with opposing Spearhead releases, but it's CoS vs Skaven, with the rats getting a new named Deathlord and some Eshin themed units (i.e. new Gutter Runners)>>97483407I'm actually not entirely sure cogforts will be this early. Talk of the Freeguild gargant model has me thinking we might be getting that first, then cogforts as an EoE release towards the end of the year/beginning of next year. Though I guess it wouldn't be impossible for them to just blast everything at us all at once.
I dont wanna start a power level discussion but is a blood knight champion on par or stronger than a chaos knight?
>>97483793Used to be stronger in lore. Not sure about rules or current lore. Knights used to be one hair away from being a vampire lord.
>>97483793>let me preface by saying I don’t want to do what I am about to do (under no duress of any kind) Hey there cutie. Post bobs and vagine
>>97483793Stronger than chaos knight, probably at least equal to a chosen chaos knight, a bit stronger than a grail knight.
>>97483679Does he do it sexually or just regular torture? What sort of violation we talking?
>>97483826Vampire lords used to be insanely powerful. It's a shame that non named characters have lost that.A foot vampire should be 250 points and be able to decimate any other foot hero in a duel

>>97485671>>97485672>>97485675This is gallagher right? Already feels a lot more tzeentchy. I like the faces in the armour, it's something that chaos has kind of moved away from so would be nice to bring back for tzeentch. Also like the weird weapon shapes and the sorcerer cape. Also the first image reminds me a lot of kairics. Warrior equivalents (like rotsword of blood warriors) in that style could be a good way to bridge the gap between kairics and potential new armoured tzeentch mortals.

>>97485714Very odd kit. Only around for a couple years too, I don't think they were ever released for aos.>>97485740These are the rumours I remember:-arch knight unit-axe + gun unit-some sort of refreshed battlemage kit-named character who hates elves-named character ... who also hates elves but on a chimera or something this time-new priest hero idk this one is vague-two gate gargants-cogfort (RoR for everyone like mega gargants)I wonder if all of this will be shown off during adepticon though, it's quite a lot. We'll see.
>>97485754>cogfort (RoR for everyoneWe won
>>97485723>>97485746easily fixable by fluff>tzeentch mutates the warriors of other gods to fight as his footsoldiersthere, done
>>97485740>>97485754Followup, you guys think all the leftover whfb stuff is surviving this edition's battletome? With nucities becoming an actually decent range there will be even less reason to keep them around. I figure gw can probably squeeze more money out of the old dark elf stuff if they "officially" released them for tow rather than keeping them around in cos where nobody gives a fuck about them.
>>97485754>arch knight unitI think people will be disappointed by this one because they are expecting ARCH knights with the same bulk or weirdness as the ones we've seen so far, but they're not actually arch knights, they're "freeguild gallants" or some shit, with weapon and shieldso basically closer to a step in-between steelhelms and the darkwater guy than the cooler guys
>>97485769They're confirmed to be staying in the tome for 4th.
>>97485769Rumors say that dark elves and normal dwarfs are still in this book. Probably because the decision to cut aos and fantasy is still relatively fresh and the proper new dwarfs and new shade elves are going to be released at the end of the edition if not next edition. In any case I wouldn't invest in them.
>>97485780Imo the unit will have an Arch as a 1-off champion like the horse kit. Rest will be normie knights
>>97485648Honestly these designs looked better in my memory. Only motif I'd like to see transferred to plastic would be the bunny helmets and the eye orbs. >>97485671I dont like seeing skinny people in armor. It elicits the same response as seeing someone in those bdsm outfits, its just uncanny. >>97485672Ideal.Well not the weapons, weapons are kinda too much. >>97485675halberds are cool. Should be THE tzeentch weapon imo. >>97485676This is whatever. Some stuff out of cartoon network. >>97485684The vore motif is honestly really easy to become numb too and see it as the authors fetish or something>>97485689twig arms are lame. They dont elicit horror or anything really. Maybe they're okay on spawn but beyond that I dont ever want to see that, and if I do its best left as a conversion for me to achieve. >>97485694Im pretty sure tzaangor have some of these banners, I think at least.>>97485704I cant remember the last time GW made cool weapons for a unit. Or rather something that stood out. I guess there was the embargard knight for darkwater but thats a hero. >>97485707My issue with these and the magister design is that at some point they feel more like cockroaches than whatever warped sheanigan they are supposed to be that isnt avian.
>>97485780Mhyea, I'm curious as well. I hope we'll get some like the steel rook or bear/fishlizard knight, something that really evokes the animal they're claiming as an arch knight. But they'll probably look closer to edmark, who is ...fine but is also just a dude with a manticore on his helm y'know. Although rotswords shows they can do knights really well if they want to. Just please make sure they don't look anything like bretonnian foot knights please please please.>>97485789I like the over the top weird halberds. Feels like they're changing shape all the time, like some sort of daemonic mercury. I agree that the second image has the best looking design, the evil sorcerer cloak design is so stupid and amazing I love it.
tzeentch and lumineth prices for anyone curious, seems like the battleforce have the standard pricing
That was quick, OBR could be this month too given 40k is on end of edition life support and Warcry is dead
>>97485884I will be ordering 3 boxes worth of the tzeentch terrain
Did BoC summon daemons in the fluff
>>97485932Don't recall any instance
>>97485932not really. they'd spread chaos corruption, which would then lead to demons manifesting. But i dont think they directly summon them.
>>97485932Daemons more appeared because of the innately corruption nature of Beastmen. They didn't really directly summon them.
>>97485932The most recent example of it is Foulhoof summoning the Cankerborn.
>>97485973This is wrong actually. Gelgus learned the methods of corrupting the land from him but he is responsible for the Cankerborn not Foulhoof so there's probably more to it. Maybe when BoC were souped in WHFB they could through universal spells or something, though? I've only read of them corrupting with mutations like in Beastslayer which is chaos magic but not demon summoning. I don't think there's ever been a Beastmen demon prince either?
>>97485973Very cool mini
>>97485990>Beastmen demon princeThat would be fucking awesome.
WHY THE FUCK GW decided not to release designers notes in new White Dwarf for new Maggotkin (for all non-Darkwater Nurgle stuff such as Festus, Blight Kings, Rotswords, Sloven Knights, Pestigors).Such a amazing aesthethic and they choose not to include designer notes like they did for Helsmiths of Hashut for example in White Dwarf. It is over.
>>97486109Designer's notes and shit like that is one of the few good things about white dwarf anyway. What a shame. Oh well.
>>97486048It wouldn't really make any sense since their souls belong to chaos at birth
>>97486109There's no designers commentary because the designs are straightforward instead of having been eaten and regurgitated and eaten again behind the scenes for who knows how many years. They don't need someone to tell you why you should like them or awkwardly justify why they don't look the way people wanted them to look.
>>97486218New nurgle is quite a departure from old nurgle though. They're ironically a lot more realistic than the whfb mortal wave. There's also the folk horror angle to consider. Idk would've been nice too get some behind the scenes looks at the process.
>>97486214So do skaven souls, but they still have a patron entity with its own demons, some of them ascended or reincarnated mortals.Beastmen could be the same with morghur, but gw cares about beastmen even less than the chaos gods.
>>97486225>Beastmen could be the same with morghur, but gw cares about beastmen even less than the chaos godsTo be fair it looked like they were planning to do some shit with beasts during the season of war stuff. But 3e being a mess + the tow divorce kind of fucked that up.Also it's funny that beasts notoriously get treated like shit by gw as a product but whoever's in charge of rules for them consistently gives them powerful and fun stuff.
>>97486218NTA but given the whole folk rural horror plus Celtic element, it would have been fascinating to read designer commentary.>>97486223Precisely. Designer commentary also often adds pieces of additional lore not found even in battletome.
I do wish Nurgle would take more cues from 40k Nurgle and having big ass armored behemoths and not just fatboys.
>>97486270Your big ass armored behemoths sir
>>97486218I adore the new Maggotkin, but a in-depth desinger notes in WD really explores how they came with new aestethics, they explore various details and so on. Very cool stuff.>>97486270They all are pretty fucking armored? Blight Kings could use more armor though.
>>97486295Better but>>97486302Yeah Blight Kings aren't my bag.I could have sworn there used to be just like...shirtless raiders, but maybe those were older models? Hm.

>>97486337>It's a hidden dragon behind the mountain! It's totally Umbraneth/Malerion!
>>97485769if the rumors are true, dispossesed and fyre slayers are getting souped, so it makes sense that they haven't gotten rid of them yet. I'm a little suprised they haven't shunted the dark elf stuff back to the old world like they did with BoC. Maybe they have plans for them, but I dont' know what that would be.
>>97486350needs more cows.
>>97486350You can see it was this terrain piece that created the silhouette people mistook for a noodle dragon
>>97486321>shirtless raiders,Like as nurgle units? Maybe you're just thinking of old chaos marauders that someone ran in a nurgle army or something?>>97486337Damn this rune stuff looks pretty intricate. That's all new right? Glad they're at least experimenting with battletomes now. >>97486355Iirc it's not so much that the existing dispossessed models get souped with fyreslayers, it's that fyreslayers are getting renamed and expanded with normal-ish dwarfs. As for dark elves we'll see, I'm not too knowledgeable on the tow timeline but I'm pretty sure they're supposed to do a big invasion of ulthuan around the time of the great war right? Their return seems the easiest out of all the legacy factions, as again it's not like many CoS players care about them. I'm sure there's some, but still.
>>97486385>Like as nurgle units? Maybe you're just thinking of old chaos marauders that someone ran in a nurgle army or something?Yeah maybe I'm just mistaken. I know the Lord Of units do nothing for me though. The Sloven Knights however are great and would like more of that aesthetic.
>>97486365no, it wasn't
>>97486350>>97486365>>97486418I'm so confused I have no idea what the fuck you guys are talking about.>>97486407Sloven knights are great, though them being mega monopose like that really sucks. >>97486337IM LOOMING ALL OVER THE PLACE
>>97486440>Sloven knights are great, though them being mega monopose like that really sucks.Thats a shame. It sounds like the rest of the refresh isn't that as much? I've been off the wagon for a while so I just assume most things are Monopose latetly.
>>97486214One of the beastmen chaos mutations in TOW makes it clear it's a possibility:>Rune of the Beast Ascendant: The Beastman's horns have twisted into the semblance of a potent daemonic rune. This promise of ascendency to the ranks of Daemonhood fills its followers with courage.
>>97486440There's something behind this rockwe don't know what, but it's clear enough that the rocks were shopped over
MOO MOTHERFUCKER
>>97486445Maybe monopose doesn't reallly cover what I was trying to say, I just mean it comes with virtually no options. Those 3 weapons are all you're getting, and a whopping 2 extra heads or something. Same story for blightkings, just a single extra weapon (and that's just for when you want to build the bannerbearer without his bamner), no extra heads. Rotswords do seem to have a good amount of extra weapons and stuff at least. No clue for pestigors. But yeah your sloven knights and blight kings are going to look EXACTLY like everyone else's l, which is a real shame when compared to the previous kit y'know. even if I thought that one was kind of fugly ngl >>97486447Oh that little black "tail"? >>97486337Maybe I'm going crazy but this rune stuff actually... looks cool?>>97486515>>97486529I get why they do it but I really hope they move on from this "one character in front of nondescript coloured background" battletome cover style. It's so soulless.

It is surreal how much love Nurgle gets in WHFB and then AoS and 40k compared to other Chaos gods. Death Guard range is far larger then TS, WE or EC. And it still looks like GW has basically no plans on actually doing a proper large second wave for TS or WE. EC range is going to follow the same pattern as WE or TS.In AoS, Bok and HoS did get a release wave and then still fucking nothing. 4ed Khorne got a pity hero and Slaanesh will get the same (Boole confirmed). Slaanesh also did not get a proper Wacry warband? Why? Meanwhile, Nurgle had stuff from WHFB. He got a few pity heros (although brilliant such as Harbinger) plus amazing Rotmire Creed and then they get a ultra massive magnificient release. Meanwhile, Tzeench in AoS is basically forgotten. And in 3ed Tzeentch tome, there is quite cool lore. Still fucking nothing.
>>97487256Blame 40ks thousand sons.

>>97486515Moo yourself, faggot.
>>97487411that's not particularly different, or better, now it's just in a different style compared to the rest of the sculpts of this game
>>97487315>flamers refreshYou faggot should he beaten to death with a sock full of metal pink horrors.
>>97487455>beaten to death with a sock full of metal pink horrors.Slaanesh gains a new fetish.
Can you run chaos armies together in sigmar? I've only painted warhammer 40k minis but sigmar is making it really tempting to create a slaanesh-tzeentch mix army. I'm only asking because 40k is gutting demons hard.
>>97487495Not anymore. In Fourth Edition alliances were thrown from the window.
>>97487495you could ally in a regiment of reknown, but other than that souping isnt a thing anymore for the most part.
>>97487501>>97487514What the fuck, does GW just hate fun? Why are they even in an army together?
>>97487570they arent in an army together?
>>97487581I mean alliance.
>>97487599regiments of reknown for the most part.
>>97487256From my understanding, there’s apparently a senoir sculptor that really likes Nurgle on the team and I imagine he’s simply pumping out more sculpts than everyone else for his favorite Chaos faction.
How good are the Darkwater models in Maggotkin? Is it worth my money to just pick up the whole box or are there a particular model or two I should get separate.
>>97485754I like how GW is slowly giving up and turning AoS into WHFB2 In 4 years all the gods are gonna be dead and memes in the setting
>>97487714Yeh when i think wfb i think giant spider robot in every faction
>>97487714How many times do you have to be reminded that the garbage bin for leftovers was just that? it was never meant to be a fundamental or important element of this setting and it isn't outside of your wishes
I don’t empire of man had giants, but I could be wrong.
>>97487741giants were available to everyone at one point
>>97487747So was your mother. Doesn’t mean she’s part of their identity.
>>97487714>I like how GW is slowly giving up and turning AoS into WHFB2I mean, it was always the direct sequel to WHFB. That was explicitly stated on the tin, and a major selling point. It's also the main reason TWW kiddies seethe so much about it.
>>97487758weird projection, but alright
>>97487411I like the concept I just don't see the point in updating it
>>97487758kek gottem
>>97487702The two spellcasters are actually quite good.Gelgus is okay, not bad but maybe a bit expensive to auto include in most listsThe fat hand + axe hero guy makes a fantastic WYSIWYG Lord of Plagues, which is great because that guy is really good.Pestigors are surprisingly good meatshields, more points efficient for the wound count than blight kingsThe mortal guys with kelpies are decent at spreading disease tokens before dying, which is fine since disease does a lot of your army's damageBlight templars can be blight kings if you can source two more fat guys for themCankerborn aren't terribleI think the whole set is awesome to build and paint, but was pleasantly surprised at how much of it is pretty usable in a normal list
>>97487758Kek
>>97487828>I think the whole set is awesome to build and paint, but was pleasantly surprised at how much of it is pretty usable in a normal listIm shocked they made kelpies and tokens actually real game models
>>97487599The grand alliance thing is kind of a relic of how early aos worked. These days it only really matters for regiments of renown and grouping armies together in the webstore.
>>97485246Which battletome is this from?
>>97487920It's from the Realmgate Wars. One of the first two books, can't recall which.
>>97487877Me too, my only wish is that templars were their own unit. Everything else worked out PRETTY damn well.
>>97487926its from RGW Balance of Power
>>97487942Yeah that's a shame. Is their sprue shared with some of the heroes or something? Or is that they thought they had enough big fat guy units in the army already?
>>97488095Yeah, the hero with the fat arm and axe (Could easily be a 4 man unit)
>>97488100Oh just mulgoth? Not any of the good guys? That's odd, would've been a very easy "mulgoth plus blight templars" box to sell.
>>97487256IF AoS has a longer future (say for next 20 years), I can tell you right now that Nurgle, Slaanesh, Khorne, Hashut and Great Horned Rat will be explored with numerous release waves. Maybe they even bring back Beasts of Chaos. But as a Tzeentch fan, I also tell you that we will always be the neglected child. Tzeentch could have the most amazing range but it is too abstract god to properly capture. Look at Underworlds team, it is excellent yet Tzeentch in AoS is always going to appeal to a smaller crowd.
>>97485780They're most likely going to be just CoSified bretonnian knights of the realm on foot.
>>97487926>>97487962Thanks anons. On a related note, are old battletomes worth reading for the lore? I saw a bunch of pretty cheap 1e/2e books on ebay and Vinted and I was wondering if they were any good
My evening WIP, post yours
>>97485460Rumor I've heard is:-Named character Marshal on foot (Apparently has a grudge with DoK, not much else known)-Named Battlemage on Chimera-Heavy infantry foot knights (Freeguild Gallants, some people saying a full unit of arch-knights, but it's probably closer to something like Cavaliers where an arch-knight leads the unit)-Specialized heavy ranged (Freeguild Grenadiers is a name that's been tossed around)-New Battlemage character kit (Bright, Amethyst, and Light mentioned directly)-New Warpriest-Freeguild Gargant (Possibly mega-gargant sized, multiple build options)-Cogforts (Huge kit with multiple build options, will include RoR bits to run with other Grand Alliances)-Faction terrainAnd a few discussed but not really elaborated on:-Monstrous infantry (Ogor warhulks with either clubs & tower shields or greatmauls, supposedly)-Light ranged skirmishers (Halflings, apparently some may appear with the new cogfort)-New flagellants (OGs getting legended and kit moved over to TOW, new models & rules potentially slated for 5th edition)
>>97487256So, before I even speak on this I'll acknowledge that my familiarity with 40K lore is rudimentary at best; there's a reason I chose Votann, the faction that just wants to diggy diggy hole and maximize profits while keeping the insanity around it at bay. Anyway, the lore reason for why DG get so much love is that, as I understand it, their primarch is a bit of an innovator, and for example I believe he designed the plaguecrawlers. 1KSons doesn't get much love (seriously, anything that isn't in power armor is literally sloppy seconds from AoS) because most of them are tortured souls and dust trapped in their armor, not even sentient in the traditional sense, and the few who do have sentience are all scheming bastard sorcerers. Still, it would be nice if some sorcerer's autism manifested in a need to design a tank that had a gun that tore holes in reality or something. World Eaters are, by their nature, kind of one note, and are mostly scattered war bands. Slaanesh damn near got squatted, so ignoring the fact that I'm just happy it's still around, I'd say they're the most likely to get cool vehicles and esoteric units in their next wave; most people just write off Slaanesh as the god of sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, and that's part of it, but at it's core Slaanesh is a god of excess, of obsession; I imagine a Tech-Marine who falls under the influence of she-who-thirsts could design some truly diabolical warmachines, and then of course he and his friends start trying to one up each other...In AoS yeah the Maggotkin are eating the best, but Hedonites are still eating well. Khorne hasn't gotten much since first edition, but at least it has some variety, the problem with Khorne is collecting the army is way more convoluted than it needs to be. Tzeentch is definitely in dire need of something more than the obligatory irrelevant foot hero. Across all flavors of Chaos to me the most glaring need is for daemons (aside from GD) that don't look like straight ass.
>>97488266>include RoR bits to run with other Grand Alliances That was never part of the leak and would obviously never happen
>>97488233Please, anything but that. If it weren't for kamendora's blades those might just be the ugliest sculpts gw has released in the past 5 years. Even darkoaf marauders are better.
>>97488255Nice anon, are you using contrast paints?
>>97488317Mostly yes. I have non-contrast armies as well, but I’ve really grown to use 70/30 contrast/regular paints in my hobby. I’d like to think I’ve become pretty ok at using them too.
>>97486515>Loving all that bussyDo you think Tzeentch has breedable cuntboys or is mpreg stuff more Slaanesh?
>>97487920Realmgate Wars: Balance of Power. The Realmgate Wars campaign books are worth a ready imo. >>974882442nd edition is when the lore peaked so anything from that time is worth reading tbhon.
>>97488266>mega gargant sized.I doubt the gate gargants will be mega-sized, especially since they're apparently a double kit thing like for example stormdrakes.>halflingsWould be very cool but CoS will never ever lose the fantasy imperial guard allegations in that case.>>97488346Good stuff anon, you use it well. The bone coloured one is probably the best contrast paint, it's very good.
>>97488266This is just your schizo wishlist version of the leaks
>>97488366
>>97488266So Shitties of Smegmar is literally just being turned into fantasy imperial guard, with the exact same limits are the Empire in WHFB. Thats lame as fuck.
>>97488266Big Yellerz are the only non-CoS thing that could theoretically justify an upgrade sprue for a cogfort and even that is never happening
>>97488399Skaven?
>>97488404Skaven don't need it and definitely wouldn't be getting a sprue for it if they were even allowed to take the ror in the first place
>>97488266>Faction terrainI dont think thats real.
>>97486515>>97488366So if Tzeentch is a god of CHANGE, that means all those sexy transbabes are its domain (pic very much related).
>>97488397Yeah all those giants, foot knights, grenadiers and mechanical spider leg forts in the Imperial Guard.
>>97488382>halflings? IN A FANTASY SETTING?!>It's 40k!The absolute state of zoomers
>>97488515Going from an army of equal amounts of humans/elves/dwarfs to 99% humans with a token unit of ogres and halflings (as scouts no less) is very much the imperial guardisation of CoS.
>>97488266It's always funny seeing retarded people bastardize leaks
>>97487658Makes you wonder how much hate was in the heart of the sculptor for these
>>97488399>upgrade sprue for a cogfortshouldn't be a thingyour proxies should be labours of love
>>97487758Giants were featured as a semi regular thing in the empire for fantasy. Such as having a giant to load the gargantuan cannon of the city of middenheim.
>>97488710"Oh man I just played mortla kombat 1 and baraka is totally khorne coded! Let me make a unit of Barakas."
>>97488710Sometimes it's not hate but incompetenceGW repurposes a number of the test sculpts they ask from potential hires, and the further down we go the least likely that new blood is truly talented people, who could strike out as sculptors on their own without attaching to gw, rather than desperate fans of gw and diversity hires
>>97488824Test sculptors do individual sculpts not squads. A lot of those commemorative characters/pity heroes are free projects done by people trying out for working at GW. From a business pov it’s quite genius.
>>97488830>Test sculptors do individual sculpts not squadsYou're a fool if you think they aren't asked for simple squads as well from time to time.
>>97487731You don’t need to have garbage bin leftovers without discarding the foundational lore of the setting. It’d kill GW to have duardin engineers? Aelf scouts and mages? How the fuck did we get Ogors before either? and I say this as a nigga that thinks the concept of second generation Ogors fucking rules.
>>97488767I think the anon meant in the sense of a dedicated giant model specific to that faction, rather than background art or random mercenary models anyone can take >>97488830Asking your potential hire to make a random underworlds warband seems like the perfect way to test if they can actually make a coherent unit rather than a single model though.
>>97488861Sorry we can’t give you cosmopolitan cities but we can give you a dead Aelf capital city and genocide cults
>>97488861>It’d kill GW to have duardin engineers? Aelf scouts and mages?why? elves and dwarfs are already getting their aos ranges, no elf or dwarf fan wants elves and dwarfs in the human army, and if someone gets into a human army then it's for humans.
>>97488896>why would we give you the army we promised to you in the core books and battletome Oh shit yeah you’re right I have no reason to be confused. I’m confused again, why did you bring up other armies that are not cities of sigmar and are not expected to look like cities of sigmar? Do you think those armies are solely defined by being short? Or tall and very pointy?
>>97488896Nta but who gives a fuck about what dwarf or elf players want for a CoS release? Cosmopolitanism was a huge part of the faction's identity up until 3 years ago it's not unreasonable to assume that the existing playerbase would like to see more of that instead of halflings or whatever (although personally I would never complain about the latter).
>>97488896How do you feel about hobgrots being in helsmiths
>>97488710The bulldog deserves better than to be in this kitFree my dawg
>>97488939>the army we promised to you in the core books and battletome>>97487731
>>97488830>A lot of those commemorative characters/pity heroes are free projects done by people trying out for working at GWI find that hard to believe purely because I can't believe that some of the most interesting and cool looking models might have been done as a fucking try out.
>>97489077I think it was always foolish to expect a refreshed cos to retain anything even close to the same ratio of humans, elfs and dorfs but like that anon said not even a single elf/dorf character or simple unit does kind of suck. Like they clearly still exist in the fluff as of now.Makes me wonder if they'll write them out actually. Dorfs you can justify as joining the new khazalid soup but elfs will be a bit more difficult. Which would be fucking lame anyway give me my jolly cooperation cities they're like the one interesting thing about them.
i wish there was a full collective of underworlds card art.
I fully expect the new duaradin to be shared between cos and slayers.
>>97489037I think they are a waste of a kit for a unit whose role would have already been covered by the warcry kit and by the other hobgrot kit, if gw wasn't retarded, allowing them to use that release slot for something that would have fleshed out this new and miniscule range more than a redundant kit whose only reason to exist is to have a few hats that wink at an old concept, when the entire faction is trying to reinvent itself.
>>97489126...why? This goes against everything they've been doing for the past however many years. With the exception of RoR's I guess the only time I can remember them making crossover kits in recent memory was the sbgl/nh terrain. Like they made entirely new hobgrots and everything.
>>97489126I fully expect you to be disappointed.
>>97489124Same
>>97489082Some of them might have been made by veterans simply testing out multiple ideas they had.
>>97489082Have you considered that you think they're cool because they're limited?Or that people get hired as already perfectly formed sculptors instead of having to learn the job once hired?
>>97486337>ramp mechanic in a game that's over by turn 3, time to join khorne, idk and chorfs in the dumpster.> +/- X to hit/wound/charge/run rulesoof
Hey anons, back again trying to keep sane. With the ogres, I've wound up with an excess of Mournfangs thanks to some odd lots I got. Is there enough leftover from a gnoblar scrap launcher/ cannon to make the other thing if I have a base and an extra mournfang?
>>97489100>but elfs will be a bit more difficult. They're been playing up CoS Xenophobia against elves since Broken Realms. And the newest wave includes no less than two elf-hating special characters. Writing is on the wall on that one.
>>97489280Iirc both variations use the same "chassis" with the giant tusks and a platform on wheels and just exchange the weapons. You'd have to do a good amount of greenstuffing I'm afraid. That being said the thing is pretty rickety you could probably scratch-build the platform easily enough.
>>97489313Diggity dang but I figure thanks to the other Ogor anon I still have plans for some heavy kitbashing with these dudes. Thanks to those cheap boxes I got and a couple of ebay lots I have like 12 mournfangs, a couple of the giant guys (missing some limbs but a friend is helping me fix that) and all the other stuff (also the weird... naked baby looking crossbow guy) Hoping I can bullshit out a neat catapult since i love artilery spam.
>>97489082Ah yes, the very cool and creative generic chaos warrior but with a name
>>97489082Or perhaps this very cool and unique and definitely not a generic test sorcerer HoH model!
>>97489326He's a cooler alt of the foot hero guy
>>97489082Perhaps this very cool and unique generic homeless man showing his feet off flanked by two skeletons. Definitely not a test diorama.
>>97489082Maybe some very unique stormcast woman who is unlike anything else seen before and definitely not a generic test model!
>>97489346Look look, I see what you're saying. But hear me out.
>>97489351The Warhammer event models are usually of a higher caliber, as are the model of the year ( usually ). The generic “ Commemorative Series “ wide releases are just them banking off intern sculpts they didn’t pay for. I could show you their 40k minis and you’d see. They are all so generic for the wider commemorative series.
>>97488710did poeple try different paint schemes for these? With a better paint scheme, it might worksomething like Soulblighter
>>97489401
>>97489346Jesus I forgot about this and the Warhammer heroes run
>>97489469This could have been 3 other brand new and perfectly fleshed out factions.
>>97489574Jokes aside this is something my dumb ass doesn't understand about commemorative models. I thought making the mould was the most expensive part of the whole process, so why do they "waste" tens of thousands of dollars on shitting out these random one off liberator-primes or a differently posed primaris lieutenant?
Some commentary on the Maggotkin crunch. I always think it's interesting to hear from the writers themselves, it always feels more worthwhile than spending the same amount of time reading a review or listening to a streamer's hot takes. He even got me thinking maybe Blightkings aren't as much of a dud as their warscroll made them appear at a glance.https://litter.catbox.moe/fj448j.mkv
>>97489944Because they make more money than the moulds and labor cost all in. You see in this thread that calling something limited edition or “ commemorative “ is enough to get a certain subset of your customer base to buy in, no matter how low effort it is.
>>97489944these smaller moulds are lower quality, not meant to last as long as a normal one, and 80% of all the sales a kit will have in its lifetime will happen in like the first month or so.plus if they released the kit normally it wouldn't sell as much and this way they keep fomo up.
>>97489469How many of those are gone forever?
>>97488459Normal troons = SlaaneshPassing troons = TzeentchIs that right?
>>97490111My gf (trans) = Sigmar because I love her and she isn't Chaos at all
>>97490091Stormcast Eternals have lost more units than IDK has ever had. There's some great irony in GW making Stormcast the designated starter faction but someone who is just getting in will buy some starter boxes or earlier combo boxes and realize most of the models don't have rules anymore.
>>97486447wait what da hell surely this is some kind of hint at something? because why would they not photoshop over the entire thing if its a cancelled project or just brush it out
>>97490091The Great SCE Squat was more models than a majority of the armies had at the time. It probably still is, honestly. I think they chopped like 30-40 models?
>>97490111it's more like this
>>97490027That makes sense, thanks.
>>97490275>>97490282And some armies are still using models from two decades ago.
>>97490464I play Ogors, and one of my LGS regs is often reminded that my Gluttons are older than him.
>>97490464whatever could you mean, anon
>>97488572That's retarded when humans + a smattering of dwarves/halfings/ogres/giants was the standard procedure for the Empire up until 6th
>>97488382>>97488572It's moreso them returning to their roots seeing as Imperial Guard were just 40K's version of WHFB's Empire and the Empire for a long time was a combination of humans, ogres, and halflings.
