Relentless Assault was the first mutliple combat cards. Including this in a set that is supposed to take place two years earlier is VERY anachronistic, but alas, I wanted to include one, but one that is clearly strictly worse.
A combination of Disintegrate and Earthquake.
This is the website that is used to transfer proxies made like yours to print out. https://mpcfill.com/editorNot sure if there is a database or something to upload them. You have some great things that players could appreciate.
>>97494709Instead of posting them one by one, you should use photojoiner, the old version, just like in the custom card generals.
I wanted a banding combat trick, and well, this is the best I came up with that wasn't 'Formation'. Some would say its useless, but I don't think so.>>97494986Nah that's gay. This lets me reread them one last time and get feedback on individual cards,Each card is an art piece I worked on, I want them to be appreciated individually.>>97494928Actually I'm working on that now. I'll end this with a file dump that will have a full folder of .jpg as well as the MSE file involved with them.
Almost a Red Dark Rit.
The reason there are so few goblins and elves is primarily because finding good public domain art for them (in color) was difficult. Thus the heavier leaning into humans. I mean, we definitely still got some, so there is that.
Is this a playable Balduvian Horde?
Reading through some of these cards, and I love the style and vibe you are going forGotta say though, im not sure if I get what identity each colour has in this setAlso>>97494806>Enchanted creature has gets>has gets
>>97495645None at all it seems. He's really going for the Legends style of "just do whatever lol"
Another Graveyard order matters card. >>97495645I mean, none in the modern sense. There are certains themes each color represents, but no mechanical identity.>>97495723and 4th, and Ice Age, and Mirage...
>>97495741>Another Graveyard order matters card.this set is going to be such a chore to play.
>>97495761Do you not stack your graveyard in order?
>>97495765not really and I'm quite glad I don't have to do it anymore. it's a pointless chore. it's like if they made cards requiring you to check the exact number of cards in your deck constantly to see if it's even or odd. it doesn't actually add anything fun to the game.
>>97495782noob
Kondak here is a big story character in the setting. Destined by prophecy to destroy civilization.
>>97495842The card downside does not work. It's an attack trigger. He attacks and then he forces creatures to attack. Attackers have already been declared. It's just a red guy with a permanent lure. Which is not red.
>>97495859Bro your new is showing.
>>97495821Yeah we all sure love being at the mercy of RNG as to whether or not my cards will work today because I didn't mill them in the exactly right order. I guess you're a pokémon TCG fan too.
>>97495869You're using modern wording for your cards such as having Walls have defender instead of not attacking being an intrinsic property. So presumably this is not running on the original rules. Decide what you're going to do, use the new actually functional rules or not. You can't both have your cake and eat it.
>>97495878>The ability is not a triggered ability. It is a constraint on declaring an attack.(2004-10-04)That is currently on how it works, and its not the only card that does that.
>>97495887Literally read the website you're using. It received an errata to make it functional. As it is currently written, it does not work.>If this creature attacks, all creatures you control attack if ableIF. Not WHEN. When is a TRIGGER it creates when attacking. IF is a property of the card.
>>97495870Graveyard manipulation is not RNG. Its a skill. Ask anyone who's ever abused Death Spark.
>>97495892Fair enough, I'll fix it. Thanks anon, and my apologies.
>>97495896Oh yeah there's so much skill involved in ordering your library just right so you mill just the right cards and mind controlling your opponent so they remove your stuff just the way you like.
>>97495912mill? Self mill is a modern concept. These were designed as skill based cards (like Krovikan Horror, Shallow Grave, Death Spark), or as long game attrition engines (Nether Shadow, Ashen Ghoul).
A color pair to Ocean Elemental in blue.
>>97495986And they wouldn't really lose anything if they just cared about cards being put into graveyards. If Death Spark said "if a creature card was put into your graveyard..." It would not actually be any less interesting. It would not be a worse card. In fact it would be more interesting because there would be less chance you're arbitrarily cucked out of plays for something beyond your control.
>>97496004Magic is a game of random variance. Feel bad plays, exist, and should, ultimately, be embraced. We wouldn't have the problems we have now with Magic if that happened.
>thumbs down
I like forcing things at times.>>97495870Is this a real pokemon card? My Misty didn't do this? What the hell is an energy zone?
This will tie into another card in the set, I promise.
Good blue hate. Much needed at times.
Red needs land destruction. It needs tempo. There are some powerful nonbasics in the set as well, so a good answer is important too.
When I started this, I asked the old school community what were some things they wish were in old school. More efficient cheap creatures was one. I set out to make some with believable drawbacks and this was one.
>>97496029>Magic is a game of random varianceIt has enough random variance inerently by being a card game. It has no need to tacking on even more. There is already the random element of drawing or putting the right cards in the grave because they're randomly ordered, there is no need to implement additional randomness and start caring about the precise order each card was drawn or discarded.
>>97496083Pokémon implemented the retarded change that people keep proposing to MtG where you have a separate deck for lands
>>97496217Yet they do. I still run Phyrexian Furnace to force my opponent to keep his graveyard in order anymore. Since you're complaining about random variance lol. Here is the only dexterity card in the set, and yes, it could be replaced with a coin flip, but that's not the point.
>>97496238>I still run Phyrexian Furnace to force my opponent to keep his graveyard in order anymore.why?that's no different then intentionally running day night cards to force everyone to keep tracking that shit forever.
>>97496249It sometimes gets me wins. People not use to keeping track of things in their heads make mistakes, and it works. >>97496229absurdly tarded. Must be recent.
>>97496229>separate energy deckNo fucking way, really?
>>97496258A deck that deliberately aims to waste the opponent's time with obscure mechanics so they make mistakes and get a judge called on them sounds like the shit that would get you booted from my LGS ngl
Yes, I know this card is power 9 tier.>>97496295Something an EDH player would say. Its not a deck (the deck is either Pox or Burn), its a single card that.
>>97496322how is this a remotely red effect
>>97496327I mean, Stars are definitely red. I just thought it was a cool card from Alpha playtest, and I increased its cost by one.
>>97496322I don't really know what to say if you think putting a card in your deck hoping you'll get to go "hhmm akcshually judge he broke the rules" is really anything but the most faggoty behaviour imaginable
In the original designs, colors could get off colored effects, but at increased rarities. The most cited of this, is Timber Wolves being a rare, while Benalish Hero was a common.I probably should have removed this from the set. I never found art I loved with the card. However, its here, and I enjoy it.
>>97496348Look I mainly only due it in legacy (which I don't really play anymore) or when I'm forced into EDH. Proplayers angleshoot all the time.
This card was originally Anarchist, but when I decided to not use any actual cards (besides lands), it was changed to this.
>>97496249if they don't order their graveyard properly I call a judge and get them disqualified
>>97496367And they're collossal faggots for doing it. You're covering for your lack of skill with technicalities and hoping being annoying will make your opponents misplay or forget something so you can scream for a judge to save you. Deliberately trying to waste time or make the game worse in hopes that they'll play poorly is illegal in most card games and will get you booted from a table, for a good reason.
>>97496465>>97496465When players play the game as it's supposed to be played, I win with my skill. Keeping yard order entact doesn't waste time. People rearranging their yards do. How do I get 'booted from a table?' Is that EDH terminology?
>>97496490>How do I get 'booted from a table?' Is that EDH terminology? In poker and most other card games, you can literally can expelled from a table or from a whole casino because you are unpleasant to play with. You literally said it- it earned you wins in EDH. You are literally just hoping your opponent's inexperience will cause them to violate a technicality they didn't know about so you can go and whine about it to a judge.
>>97494709Crimson Knight should be RR to put it on par with white and black knight
>>97496506I did debate on that, do you think it historically is justified?
>>97496504I never earned a win in EDH because of that directly. The only time I ever got a win doing it was legacy, and even then, it was only when they did it repeatedly.
>>97496521ok i guess you were lying then thanks
>>97496541Play mistakes caused by players are their own fault. I got no sympathy when I get into the game for play mistakes. That's how you learn. Embarrassment and cruelty are great teachers.
>>97496549They're not really learning anything here since there aren't any graveyard order cards anymore and most of the ones that are playable are demanding you to keep track of your own. They're just learning you're annoying to play with and will go bitch to a judge to win.
>>97496549You sound like a fag and have, in turn, guaranteed I wont click on these faux card threads
>>97495842>Regenerate in redI hate it
>>97496549And people wonder why people don't want to play old magic when these are the guys shilling it.
>>97496258So your a rule shark. Someone that cannot win with their own skills.
>>97496573Uthden Troll, Eron the Relentless, The Brute. It was part of red for a while. >>97496568That's too bad. I mean, you clicked on it this time. >>97496582You're mixing up Old School with premodern. Old School doesn't generally shill and is pretty open about light gatekeeping. Premodern is the format that is being shilled.>>97496594Eh? They should have never changed the ruling about graveyard order mattering? It was like that until 2014.
>>97496618Trying to win by deliberately engineering scenarios where the opponent will mistakenly break the rules is rule sharking, yes. It's no different from trying to say "resolves, skip to end step?" in a player's main phase in response to a spell and then screaming for the judge when they absentmindedly say yes. you are playing in bad faith and are a bad player who needs to cover his ass with technicalities. it's even more embarrassing because you're doing this to newbies. can't even imagine calling yourself old school and having to resort to this shit in edh lmao
>>97496637No its usually experienced players that fall into that trap. I simply create the state. It's not my fault they miss a card with flashback in their yard, or a dredge trigger under a land.
>>97496669Yes, and you're a huge faggot for doing it.
Some how we never got a traditional Bridge Troll.
The 'saboteur' mechanic slightly existed before hand, but was formalized in Fallen Empires, and continued to be a mechanic used through Ice Age and Mirage block, before being retired for effects that just cared about dealing combat damage.
>Elves in the setting are mostly extinct. The ones that aren't are usually so isolated, they might as well be.
>>97496515>>97494709>>97496506It's already a real card.
>>97496229>>97496083>>97496258>>97496268The separate deck is only for the fake digital only Mobile Slop version of the game. The real game hasn't changed.

This bro looks so fucking awesome[s]He should probably be a gnome[/s]
>>97498669Do I need to type out spoiler now? I haven't used spoiler in over a decade.
I worry I put to much mana dorks in the set. In total there are three, Machine Elf, Lake Pixie (pictured), and Wall of Plants.
>>97495086You’re awesome can’t wait to add to my cube. Your efforts will not go unnoticed
>Rival to Dara Dreamscaper (>>97489113), Lana believes beauty in revealing nature itself, and not the artifical.>>97499587Thanks anon! It means alot!
Green somehow didn't end up with any hate cards in the set, so I was filling it out, I decided to make one that effected both colors.
>>97499719Wow this is a shit rare.
>>97499735You make it cost too cheap and its broken.
>>97499756And as it stands it's simply useless.
>>97499770I mean, Nature's Wrath is good when it hits. What would you recommend friend?
>>97499813Nature's Wrath has an actual impact on the board. This will hit when you have 6 mana and make the opponent's spells slightly costlier, in the exact point of the game where they don't care all that much about that anymore. Just throw the entire thing out in the garbage.
>>97499862God Pharoah's Statue suggests otherwise. Run some land destruction with it.
>>97499880>God Pharoah's Statue suggests otherwiseColorless, not restricted, and 2 matters a whole fucking lot compared to 1.
>>97499901One colored, and if you haven't noticed, the color word can be changed.Naturally Statue will be stronger, it was in theory printed almost 3 decades later.
>>97499908>the color word can be changed. Why would I ever do this? Am I spending 2 cards and at minimum like 8 mana to... make a bad color hoser hose my opponent very slightly? Nobody actually brings the wrong kind of color hoser to a match hoping they'll get to change the color word because that is spectacularly retarded. You have absolutely no idea of what makes a card good. This thing is completely unplayable.
This was inspired by Imprison, during the whole Salty 7 nonsense. It's the same concept, but in green, and artifacts.>>97499925Because its entertaining. Have you never locked someone from the game with their own Celestial Dawn, or with Drought?
A bigger Pale Bear, or a renamed River Bear
>>97499953If I'm aiming to hose someone I bring my own goddamn hosers, aimed at that deck. That is what a sideboard is for. I don't pray to god he's going to play a color hoser so you can play a card to change it and otherwise have that card be a complete brick.
>>97499974Oh you're the anon who hates color hosers. Glad to see you're back again. Enjoying the cards?
>>97499997I don't have any problem with color hosers, I just think you're retarded by thinking a card can be good because MAYBE you can draw another card to fix it and this other card will basically do nothing otherwise. Who the fuck is going to play a 6 mana CONDITIONAL Sphere of Resistance with an upkeep cost on top of it?
The green and final 0 drop.
>>97500018I mean, there is no maybe about it. I never had any problem pulling that off before. Of course, my deck was designed to do that. You hate upkeep costs too? Do you just hate old school mtg design?
>>97500026I'm saying that the card is bad because it's Sphere of Resistance BUT twice the cost, colored mana, conditional, and you also have to pay for another 2/3 of a sphere every single turn you want to keep it around. >I mean, there is no maybe about it. I never had any problem pulling that off beforeI highly doubt that you actually did anything in any games with the brilliant gameplan of "play cards that don't work against my opponent in hopes that I will draw a xard that makes them do so."
>>97500043Maybe your right, maybe it should cost 4. I'll do some play testing later.Yes, yes I did. It was a control deck like Stasis, work on tempo, some solid removal, then boom, lock. Bro, I think I asked this yesterday, are you an EDH player?
>>97500063>Yes, yes I did. It was a control deck like Stasis, work on tempo, some solid removal, then boom, lock.Well I think you're just fucking lying, because that's not solid removal. Playing Terror against a black deck because you can maybe use a color changer is retarded. You are making your removals into active disadvantages for you because you have to spend an extra card for them to fucking work in the first place.
>>97500080There's a big difference between doing something that literally doesn't work anymore, and locking a mono-colored deck out of the game with two cards. You're comparing apples to bananas.
>>97500124And those two cards will do basically nothing otherwise of this one specific ocurrence, and even when they work they only work against one specific kind of deck and it's not even all decks in this subsect. Against black and blue (the INTENDED TARGETS) it is, like I said, Sphere of Resistance but twice the cost, with an upkeep.
This card came as a thought experiment with a friend. How much could you tack onto an Ancestral Recall before people might hesitate to play it. Sorcery Speed? Nah people will still play it. So I thought 'well add ante to it'. His response was 'people ran Contract, and that added a card to the ante. A recall would be better'.Anyway, proper ante is done with the top card of your library after all hands are finalized. It's random, its chaotic, it can be fun. Do you give away a card you ante'd up to draw 3. If it's a basic, or even a common, sure, but if it's not, that's a more interesting question.
>>97500175I give a basic land and draw three. Wow, what a change.
>>97500175>Anyway, proper ante is done with the top card of your library after all hands are finalized. It's random, its chaotic, it can be fun.It rarely actually is any of these. People just play a normal game and play all the ante cards that are busted to win and try to fleece their opponent.
>>97500213Sometimes sure. Ante should only be played with friends and acquittances anyway. Just as Garfield intended. >>97500193Yeah if your ante was a basic, sure. I would too.
>>97500231>Yeah if your ante was a basic, sure. I would too.The chances aren't bad and there's plenty of ways of controlling the ante. You're just going to run four of these and just give your opponent your cheap cards all the time. It's a minimal, irrelevant cost.
>>97500249How do you control the ante? Do tell. Besides, Jeweled Bird of course.
>>97500265This lets you choose a card in the ante. Any card that adds to the ante like Rebirth or Demonic Attorney will let you control the cards, and you can simply build a monocolor deck to have an around 1/3 chance of a basic land by default, or even more if you have a lot of cheap cards in your deck. This is just a negligible cost.
>>97500300No, the ante was always the top card of the library, as par the revised rulebook.
>>97500365>choose one card of the ante to give>put extra cards in the ante>therefore have control over what card you givewhat is not clicking? ancestral recall (and out of pie even) is an advantage so powerful giving up a basic land per game or two doesn't matter. in fact because you have ancestral recall you're probably going to make off with the rest of the ante meaning you don't even lose all that many cards.
>>97500428You know, I double checked what you're saying, and you're right. However, Demonic Attorney literally says Ante the top card of the library. As does Rebirth. Yes, deck manipulation is common now, sure. I'm not designing these with cards printed after Ice Age in mind however.I will add 'off the top of the library' to the card however. Thanks anon.
>>97500449It doesn't matter if it's from the top of the library, dumbass. expanding your ante means you have more choices on what cards to give to the opponent for the Recall, and thus more chances to give an irrelevant or cheap card like a basic land. playing demonic attorney has no actual downside here, even, because ancestral recall is a downside so egregious you're probably going to win and get the ante.
Green Crusade, so every color has a crusade.>>97500466If you design your deck around that, more power to you. I respect it.
The final World Enchantment. Means 'Land of the Youth'. Another Graveyard order matters card.
>>97500476>Green Crusade, so every color has a crusade. Why do you even play this game if you don't want to have a color pie
>>97500476You don't really understand what incentives are, do you? If you reward players for engaging in degenerate shit to win you create a game full of degenerate shit. Because people like to win, you retard. The result of your card is a game where the only decks are green or green/black decks (because not running ancestral recall is suicidal against a deck that has it) and players hand over a few basic lands to each other every now and then.
>>97500535I mean in old school, every other color has a crusade. If you stretch it to 96, then Green has a crusade too. It's just the nature of the beast of the time. >>97500544By this logic every old school deck should be running Recall, but not every old school deck does.
>>97500983Any deck running blue is running Recall, even when it's restricted to 1. If it wasn't there would be no reason to play anything but blue.
>>97501091Not every deck is running blue?
>>97501123If Recall wasn't restricted, they probably would just to play it. 4x Ancestral Recall is worth the fucking world, as pic related amply demonstrated.
>>97501141Holy shit. That's fucking insane. Shame its in a slop set.

>>97501215lol nice mechanic you have there. anyway.>chumpblocks
>>97501184I wish there was more old border dinosaurs. What an awesome creature type that fits damn near anywhere.
>>97501245When they did Great Creature Type Update, they removed Dinosaurs and made Pygmy Allosaurus a lizard, we all said they would bring back dinosaur and its removal was dumb.Less than a decade later they did, with earnest.
I end this with Woden. It's been a while, and I'm tired, so I'm taking a break. Everyone, thanks for the conversations, and the feedback, I appreciate it.
Late Night bump
Multicolor is my least favorite aspect of the set, because it feel disjointed, and is totally uneven. I've debated on removing it entirely (or at least making it only legends).
Each of the seasons has a dance, a two drop sorcery, and a Queen, a legendary Avatar.
Inspired by Takeno, Samurai General. I surprisingly did very little with Rampage in this set. There isn't room to explore with it like there is with other mechanics. >As his flavor text suggests, Erik is responsible for turning the various nomadic barbarian tribes into a cohesive fighting force. Being the 'adopted' father of Kondek, the Adamantium, he would be a catalyst for destabilizing the continent.
This guy was originally a vanilla. I gave him Rampage after designing Erik
Enchantment removal is important
G/W represents Spring, a time of renewal and optimism.
Another Stream of Life variant.

At a young age, she survived a ransom attempt through wit and guile, and got herself home.>She would then spend her time learning of war, and of history.>She is currently in the capital, as a representative of her father. >>97511715Even if it isn't it permanently restricts design. Blue/Black (Dimir) is the smallest and least fleshed out of the ally colors.

>>97515962It's a good rule to have. MtG generally makes sure all information is verifiable; All tutors that specifically tutor for one specific kind of card need to reveal the card so you know that your opponent did, in fact, tutor for that kind of card. All handrips reveal the hand even if they just specify the opponent discards a creature card or so. And that's exactly why the fail to find rule exists, because the library isn't a public zone and there isn't a way to verify that, in fact, your library isn't a 50/50 split between Unburial Rites and Archon of Cruelty when you reveal only two cards with Gifts Ungiven.Without that rule, you end up like Yugioh, where you can in fact just say "I don't have any of these cards in my hand :)" and claim you drew them later when a card tells you to discard.
>>97515093would suck to be the black player with no knights in hand or deck and this 2 drop 4/4 protect against black comes out
>>97515093are you going to proxy and play with these cards on paper? draft?
This is kino.gj OP.
>>97515230this is a nasty uncommon, could be a rare
>>97515236text error>defending play
>>97515427lol this would have been banned with crusade by the people that gave us black aragorn
>>97515991Man this card has always been fucked. Honestly, it should be a punishable effect, but I guess a high honor society doesn't have that problem. >>97516099There are inherit risks to being a mono-colored deck. >>97516133Cube maybe?
>>97516143Yeah maybe, or maybe make it cost more. It is symmetrical however.>>97516134Thanks anon!
>>97511782A 90s mtg design set?! Based on classic European mythology?! In the middle of this bloated release cycle?! Completely localized in /tg/?! Well you’re an odd fellow tripfag. But you steam a good block.
>>97495548yaaaay
>>97516680>Honestly, it should be a punishable effectNah. You're just a scrub. Handrips are based.
>>97517297I never said they weren't?Im saying players should be forced to be honest. >>97516834YES
>>97517309There is no way to force them to be honest without making the game require a judge to check. Better to just not run the game in any sort of honor system in the first place.
>>97517325DQ use to work really well, and then being shunned.Alas I'll have to design something else.
>>97517337The problem is that a judge must give a DQ, numbnuts. Instead of having a game where you're constantly calling a third party to verify the results of your cards, they just made a game where the cards work in a verifiable manner.
>>97517386Warnings exist anon
>>97517453If the other guy says "no I didn't have any of the named cards in my hand" and the card doesn't force him to prove it, he can just say he drew them later and all you can do is call a judge. This is exactly what happens in Yugioh since there is no way to verify without a third party. It doesn't matter the punishment, you still need to call a judge. Instead of having the game become a three player 1v1 because you need a judge to make sure your cards work, it's best to just make them reveal the hand so they ALWAYS work and there is NO NEED to call a judge. Because calling a judge is a bother.By the way I looked up the rules and you can make >>97515423 work. Just use The End's wording.>Exile target creature card from a graveyard. Search each player's graveyard, hand, and library for any number of cards with the same name as that permanent and exile them. Each player that had their library searched this way shuffles."search each player's library" lets you search the cards yourself; note that then you will be able to fail to find yourself and not exile any from yours.
>>97517477I'm aware but Lobotomy effects isn't how I wanted this to work. I wanted this to worknlike Nobleman of Extermination or Crossout
>>97517477Sorry I was drunk last night. Thanks anon
The final Queen.
>>97495107That's really fucking cool. I love it.
>>97523054Thanks. I'll post a new thread tomorrow
are you going to make this available as a download? My buds have recently dragged me back into magic from a 20 year hiatus and I'd love to have this printed on demand for a draft cube
>>97525533Yes, yes I will.
