I really like the Dungeon Crawler Carl books. Some of the most entertaining fiction I've ever read. Whoever is calling it slop can't be serious in the 'low-effort' sense, there is a staggering number of details and parts that the author had to keep track of. I have no enthusiasm for the RPG whatsoever, but we might get some good art out of it. Too much of what is interesting in the books just won't work at the table, like the infinite inventory, detailed crafting, the overly detailed spell interactions and exploitable loopholes in the way the system works.
