>>97533017UnQs, who is your character's best counter pick? Tell me what kind of character you struggle fighting against, and what build fits that role the best.
>>97533522I guess Hold probably does the worst against Octocampus? He's a midrange mixup character who likes to lay traps around his opponent, so a zoner gives him the most trouble. I think Octocampus is the closest thing to a pure zoner we have.
>>97533017>Feldspar quotes>Kasumi quote chartThese should just be changed to rentry links.
>>97533522The Leif counter would have to be someone that is both able to see him when he goes into the other world and has some way to capitalize on it and keep up with the speed, also probably being able to fly like him. I don't think any of the current cast fits that. Comet gets close, being an esper means she may have a way to follow him, but she doesn't seem to have the second part, and reading minds may be a disadvantage against him instead because of the mess that's in there. It's not exactly a counter but against robots he would not be able to target souls, barring special cases, so he would be forced to fight lethally instead. That's not really worse for him, and robots can be repaired so in the end it's not a big deal I guess?
>>97534005Really? I would've thought a pure rushdown would that archetype's main weakness since they'd give no time for him to set up, especially if they're super high mobility that can approach without triggering the trap.I've been wondering if I should answer this in-universe, or if this is more fighting game related since I'm struggling to envision how my character's fighting style would translate.
>>97534143Nta but I have no idea of the techical terms nad how they would translate into a game character so I answered more like a hero than a fighting game character. If it was translated into a game I can only imagine how much of a nightmare it would be to control him, 5d movements are not made for the human brain.
>>97534168For Leif? There are a few ways to translate that in a way that's playable. The easiest I can think of is something like Seth from UNIB or a good beginner character like Hibiki from BBCF make use of teleports, either relative to the screen or relative to the opponent.
>>97534143>I've been wondering if I should answer this in-universe, or if this is more fighting game relatedJust go with the more in universe acceptable answer. It'll actually be usable information if someone writes a fight eventually
>>97534143Well I imagine him playing like Kokonoe in Blazblue, and her worst matchup there is probably Nine (and Izanami but everyone's worst matchup is Izanami). I thought Nine was a zoner but upon closer inspection she's actually also a midrange mixup character like Kokonoe. But I'll still stick to defensive zoners; it's his RPS - and I personally feel like Nine's closer to that than a trapper.I really don't remember any cases of characters like that being weak to rushdown; rushdown doesn't always mean "strong early lead" which is the real momentum builder against them. Maybe Alois because he has snowball in that case lmao.
>>97534229>Seth from UNIBI had no idea who that is, and when I searched it I discovered that: 1 I have that game but never played it, and 2 I have him in my potential faceclaims folder with a couple other characters from that game too.I never played either of those but I just watched a couple totorial/overview videos on them and they are protty similar to how I was imagining Lief fighting. Of course, neither of them has a giant scythe and Leif doesn't even touch the ground so he would be in constant air move but it's pretty similar.
>>97534345>prottyAnd this is what happens when you switch word as you type. I went from probably to pretty.
>>97534108easy on the wank blud
>>97534379It's a superhero setting not a fighting game setting.
>>97534394>my build has no counters and no one can keep up with him and holds back against half the cast but when he doesn't he'll destroy them, good thing the robots can be rebuilt
>>97534412>and this is a bad thing apparentlyvgh... he's so fucking cool...
>>97534412Fighting to kill and holding back are different, unless you think all our heroes are willing to murder at the slightest inconvenience
>>97534412This applies to my build btw
>>97534412good old lorus anon
>>97534426>unless you think all our heroes are willing to murder at the slightest inconvenienceYou mean they're not?
>>97533522Leo’s a shoto so by virtue of being an all-rounder he might not struggle with too many fighting styles unless they’re super specialists in one thing, but Octocampus does have that Pokémon type advantage.
>>97534379I don't think I wrote him to be any stronger than the rest of the cast so what's the problem? All that stuff was written in the rentry and nobody complained.>>97534412I didn't write that? He has no perfect counter that invalidates his whole existence, I never said that he can't get hurt or that he can kill everyone else and is holding back against everyone because he's too strong. Just because something has no direct counter it doesn't mean it's invincible, you can win a pokemon fight with neutral moves and no STAB bonus, or even not very effective ones, counters aren't everything. And I didn't pick the RPS drawback that gives him a counter either.
>>97534464>And I didn't pick the RPS drawback that gives him a counter either.NTA but anyone with a positive RPS against Rushing Waves or Flashing Spear would still have an advantage against him
>>97534497That's not really a counter, and they can't have both which leaves the other one.
>>97534518It's the same "counter" as having negative RPS, it'd still only apply as much as the RPS goes percentage wiseso a 60% or 40% advantage against him, just as he'd have a 20% disadvantage if someone just had 20% of his weakness
>>97534251Makes sense, I'll admit that I read the situation wrong. I guess it depends on on how defensively or offensively a trap is used. If it's more like a way to cover space then someone who's good at covering even more space beats you out. If it's more offensive, especially if the mixup with said traps involve okizeme, someone with either a way to get out of that situation or good defensive option can counter their specialty, the former of which tends to depend from zoner to zoner.>>97534345I also had one of the characters as a potential faceclaim for something a long time ago, but in this case I did play the game from UNIST all the way to UNI2Scythes are a bit rare due to how big they generally are and how much space they cover. Using UNIB again, Gordeau covers a lot of space and would be a pain with Seth's teleports, yet wouldn't synergize with his plan that much.Full aerial characters are harder to think about since being in the air versus being on the ground is a trade off of offense and defense that makes their hyper air mobility unique. I think freely floating would be the nightmare part compared to the teleports.

>>97533017what are your guys' ideas for a villain/monster group we can have as an overarching antagonist
>>97534984Octocampus works just fine for an arc 1 villain, he has super genius and is mostly a lex luthor type with weird inventions and monsters. It can end with Meg eating him or him being arrested and sent to a high security aquarium.
>>97534984bro thinks anyone cares lmao
>>97534984Octocampus would be a rad one to fight/focus on, we could also use The Family, Heroes going after Vigilante's or just making generic giant monsters would be peak.
>>97534984I want a villain that can make a variety of really weak yet varied mooks but the build that goes that route would basically take genius with either robots or mutants as their specialty which is what Octocampus kinda does like what >>97535034 covered. I guess the robot version could be a Benkeico employee that is using their latest discovery on Afty to create prototype bots that hopefully surpass her. This can then lead to an arc that discovers that she was actually stollen and that they were the cause of the robot attack that hopefully gets the company closed down.

>>97535300I kinda want modern if there was one, it'd feel a bit more diverse and have not only nations but organization to ally with or against. Old gun school had that metal gear tone I'm looking for but too bad it's dead and different now.
>>97535355>Old gun school had that metal gear tone I'm looking forSo you want low/no power then? Can't think of anything really. There are a lot of cyoas that have some form of spy as a class choice but it's just one class and all of them are pretty high power.
>>97533522kasumi's just an extremely fast rushdown so idk, I feel like she could overwhelm a defensive character or get walled by themdoes anyone have rushing waves advantage? I guess it'd be them>>97534984I like the idea of dealing with Octocampus first, and then pivoting into saving Afty from BENKEICO
>>97534984You mean other than the monster association and the monster king that were already described? We can just keep making monsters for that.>>97535091>Heroes going after Vigilante'sThe current cast doesn't really work with that as much. But I did have a vague idea for a plot of fake vigilantes that try to emulate the more popular ones to ruing the reputation of the originals. Motives could vary, we could have the usual villain plot doing it, maybe even a secret organization, or we could have a bit of a twist and make it so it's a different branch of the hero associaccion itself doing it to have an excuse to crack down on annoying vigilantes.
>>97535784>plot of fake vigilantes that try to emulate the more popular ones to ruing the reputation of the originalsI do like the idea of a corrupt hero(es) trying to shift public opinion further against vigilantes and get stricter laws made against them
>>97535784>>97535798A little bit pro-vigilante here are we? They still need to be cracked down upon.

>>97535784>>97535798I like the idea but I think it's kinda funny that one of the few things said about the Hero Association in the cyoa is that it generally isn't corrupt yet Belfry was made and anons are already toying with an evil heroes against my hecking just vigilantes
>>97535838To be fair I never said that the heroes involved are evil or the whole Hero Associacion is involved. It could be a small section that genuinely believes they are doing the right thing, or the higher up could have that belief. There could even be some incident that kickstarts the process, one vigilante that crosses the line too much and the Associacion decides to crack down on all of them as retailation, but they can't publicly pursue all of them in the same way so they have to resurt to underhanded methods.
>>97535854>but they can't publicly pursue all of them in the same wayAssuming vigilantism is illegal, why couldn't they? Judging by the cyoa it seems like the only thing actually stopping them is that some vigilantes do more good than harm and are ignored rather than endorsed.
>>97535859Public opinion. Exactly because some vigilantes do more good than harm they have a good standing in the eye of the people. Those vigilantes can't just be pursued without the Association looking like tyrants and losing any public support they may have. In the end they can't risk the citiziens not wanting to be protected, they could even start helping vigilantes more actively instead.
>>97535854>>97535872Our current Vigilantes are Leo who's an asshole and probably causes a fuckton of property damage in his fightism and Leif who's a good guy but kills corrupt people who were innocent in the eyes of the law so they're both probably on the shitlist.
>>97535838The way Belfry's character is described is despite his roots, he's there to be part of the Hero Organization square. Law and Order isn't always the same as Good I suppose. But it'd also be a good hook to have him either commit to being a Hero or reveal himself as a secret 'Villain'.>>97535859This too. If it's illegal, there's fuel for any Hero to beef with any Vigilante. I can even see it be so simple as "You're obstructing our processes with your showboating. Stop or be arrested."Since it's purely ambivalence that lets vigilante's off the hook there's nothing saying that there can't be an over-enforcement of law.>>97535875Plus, in the CYOA itself:> you still do hero-work in the sense of combating threats to the public, but heroes themselves may attempt to stop you, as you are officially considered a lawbreaker. This obviously does depend on the scale of your crimes; [sic]...LEO? LIEF? You are NOT off the hook.
>>97535881>The way Belfry's character is described is despite his roots,It's actually not Belfry himself, it's that his mafia family has hooks in the military and police that work with the HA. Technically sidestepping the "HA itself isn't corrupt" and really isn't a big issue, I just thought it was funny.
>>97535875But they are both good in the eye of the people. Leo may be an asshole buthe's a charismatic asshole, and he genuinely helps people outside vigilanism too. Leif is more urban legend than vigilante at this point, but I can assure you that when your corrupt boss nobody could do anything about winds up dead the average employee is going to be grateful to the guy that did it. Also Alois is technically a vigilante too but it's unclear if he does any actual vigilante work.
>>97535917>But they are both good in the eye of the peopleAre they though?>Leo may be an asshole buthe's a charismatic asshole, and he genuinely helps people outside vigilanism tooI assume you're Leo anon because I don't remember this being said anywhere and I really don't think he's the type to worry about how much property damage he inflicts, and that'll turn things against him fast. He also probably picks fights with heroes, and likely delayed them on more than one occasion.>Leif is more urban legend than vigilante at this point, but I can assure you that when your corrupt boss nobody could do anything about winds up dead the average employee is going to be grateful to the guy that did itI think it depends. He doesn't seem the type to actually publish the crimes of whoever he kills; I imagine there's plenty of people who present themselves as good that Leif killed and then he worry about that.
>>97535935>I assume you're Leo anonNot him, I just remember seeing something similar in his profile. Maybe I'm just assuming too much because of the source material, he did say that Leo is based on classic fighting game protagonists and I'm pretty sure Ken and Ryu help grandmas cross the street and stuff like that. Nothing to say on the property damage tho, he probably doesn't care. I do remember the little image where he complains about laws getting in the way of saving people, that at least proves he cares.>He doesn't seem the type to actually publish the crimes of whoever he killsMy point was that no matter what everyone else says there will be at least someone that is glad that person is gone, the victims of that person. And in time those people start adding up, and the legend spreads.I think they are both liked enough for the general public to have a generally positive opinion of them. At least in Leo's case the public would be taken aback, also because he doesn't really kill and people may even see him as just a dumb kid that likes helping since he's young.Leif is a different story, the general public probably wouldn't care right now, mostly because they may not even believe he exists, but also because he actually does kill people. But there would be a small dedicated group of people that were directly saved by his actions that would see the Hero Association as trying to cover up his deeds and possibly being corrupt themselves. That or incompetent because he succeeded where they failed, and that would also need to be covered up.
>>97535935>>97536045>he cares.Cares more about safety than laws. It ate a piece.
>>97535248>>97535266I suggested tactical meguca a lot but only because it made them unreasonably mad every time.
>>97536045Maybe you two should consider the other side, which heroes would stop the vigilantes rather than which vigilantes deserve stopping?
>>97536426>Smokemaybe she would, for the fightfagging aspect? proving yourself after allI could also see her just not giving a shit unless they were dangerous>Holdunsure, on one hand he bends the rules if needed, on the other he's a literal lawyer so...>Cometprobably would unless doing so would cause serious controversey>Belfryprobably would>Vprobably would>Lightprobably would, or at least lecture them on why they should become a hero>Feldsparprobably would inform HA where they were and not get involved I'm guessing>Jawsunsure on where she lies honestkyfunny that Hold and Smoke seem the most 50/50 to me while the rest veer to no except FeldsparAfty and Deadend probably frown om them as well and are on the legaler side of mercenaries so I see them apprehending a vigilante if they got in the way
>>97533522Due to her style, fighters that are incredibly quick or incredibly tricky are the hardest for Feldspar to tackle. Most of her moves will usually be slow and predictable, with the only saving grace being that it would cover a large enough area to be difficult to dodge. Because of this, she basically has to predict her enemy's movements in order to land an attack, but when it does land that's usually all she needs. A typical fight with someone she's never fought before would probably start out with her trying her best to block attacks and letting the opponent expose their tool set, then once enough information has been gathered, to try and end the battle as quickly as possible. Leif is an easy answer, but someone like Comet, despite having a weakness to a fighting style she specializes in, would counter her really well. Not only could she read minds, she has an improved version of her powers and could throw back whatever she tried to throw at her.>>97536451For Feldspar, it depends on how much she's observed at the moment. If it's no big danger, she'd rather let things play out until she really needs to intervene. She's more of the type to not bring things up unless the other party does. Her leaving the vigilante be or reporting the vigilante is a pretty safe bet, especially if she doesn't have the time to tail them or if she really needs to improve her standing with the Association. It's similar to her opinion on extrajudicial killings where she'd rather find another way as much as she can which can can cause her to clash with the other, more impulsive characters like Leo. You could say she has a much gentler touch when human lives are involved even if her powers and fighting style make it look like the opposite.
>>97532745If you wont stop posting MHA can you atleast agree to not make it the OP anymore?OP is for getting new people in to our cyoas afterall. Its effectively our advertising space.
>>97536451I believe Smoke was implied to teach Vigilantes in her defense classes as long as they could pretend to be normal. She mostly cares about wiping out the monsters and stuff, more of a Disaster hero than a Crime hero.
>>97535838This is just how it goes in capeshit Anons dont want to make a government bootlicker unless its overt to the point of being a funny caricatureSo you end up with narratives like thisI'm starting to agree with that one guy who said supers are at their best when there isn't one big sponsored org for them
>>97536719At this point they'll see the thread vanish before their sunk cost fallacy and egos yield. Death before admitting you or I are right.
>>97537013Its a obvious fact that our thread has been in decline because of it, we need new blood and mha isnt letting it happen
>>97537018I can't wait to hear the cope which supposedly justifies having to scroll past 30 legacy posts for things that aren't happening.
>>97537087Thread did fine for a year with new blood all the time since we had new MPs as the OP every now and thenThen they kept MHA after it died and it kept dragging us down and keeping new people from joining...without providing anything to the thread. And now only the hardcore posters are still here.
It be 2 dumb bitches telling each other "exactly"
>>97537209And there's the attempted deflection. Thread's still dead chief, but I can't wait for the usual stragglers to rush in and spam some shit for damage control attempts.
>>97537209they ain't wrongthe current threadslaves are less useful than the HP backup guy
>>97536719>OP is for getting new people in to our cyoas afterall. Its effectively our advertising space.I don't think that's how it works.
>>97537344OK, so even if it isn't then we should make it so. It can be more productive that way rather than projecting the appearance of a static, unchanging thread where every anon has already staked out their space in the story. 4channers as we all know have short attention spans. You need something fresh in the produce stand out front to bring in a new anon. They just gloss over being presented with the same rotting oranges every day.
>>97537460>rather than projecting the appearance of a static, unchanging thread where every anon has already staked out their space in the story. That would only happen if MHA was the only MP, which isn't the case. How would you even do that? Plastering "Looking For Players" in the OP?>4channers as we all know have short attention spans.Do we really want to attract that kind of player? Do you want to be stuck in the eternal ADHD cycle of MPs being dead after the making builds phase? Because that's what would happen by appealing to those anons, what is happening now but a whole lot worse. Staring 4 MPs every thread and none surviving to the next one. Is that really what you want?
>>97537525I'd rather have good threads, but if we cant have that then better ADHD threads than nothing at all. You let 99 shitters pass through and keep going, but the one decent nugget in the dirt actually sticks around and builds a community. That's the best you can do on 4chan.
>>97537525>he thinks there are other kinds of players to attract in the first placekek
>>97537525Making builds isn't such a bad thing, it's my favorite part of most adventures at least. Is it such a bad thing to let people have some good vibes and freeball making builds for a while until the energy for a real run naturally accumulates? That's where people get their excitement from half the time, you can't force it by demanding every build has a full run laid out already IMO. Just my 2 cents.
>>97537605Might as well go back to cyoag thenPost a cyoa, dump a few builds, discuss and compile then for a while then drop everything when it becomes a bother and start something else
>>97537605>You let 99 shitters pass through and keep going, but the one decent nugget in the dirt actually sticks around and builds a community. That's the best you can do on 4chan.Then why would that decent nugget be discouraged by simply having to learn how something works? Not having MHA as OP will change nothing at best and only attract the 99 shitters at worst. I prefer a dead thread rather than having to comb through the shit to find the posts that have any real meaning.>>97537615We already have anons that can put in the effort without being ADHD and constantly wanting to start new MPs. They exist.
>>97537633That's not MP, that's just playing cyoas by yourself. It's the definition of being ADHD and moving on the moment something requires actual effort. There is a difference between dumping a build with no plans in advance and making things up as you go, and just dumping a build without any intention to engage in the MP. The first one is fine, I've done it a couple times too, the second one isn't, that's not what MPs are for.
>>97537643>We already have anons that can put in the effort without being ADHD and constantly wanting to start new MPs. They exist.Name 5
>>97537677Most of the anons with a thread identity count, and we definitely have more than 5 of those. The 3/4 artfags alone almost get there by themselves. Then we have our 2/3 authors and semi authors that put in effort into making stuff as well as playing it. And a couple anons that have been given a name, that's already way more than 5.
>>97537643>I prefer a dead thread rather than having to comb through the shit to find the posts that have any real meaning.Same. Those threads are a nuisance.
>>97537209they're literally exactly right, and it's just one of the reasons to chop the corpse if it just being unsightly doesn't do it for you>>97537525>Plastering "Looking For Players" in the OP?maybe we should try this but cutting a dead MP should be tried first>do we really wantwho the fuck do you think we have right nowI can't tell if you're shitposting disingenuously or generally believe that follows at allyeah I'm sure we currently have ALL the good players on the site, and none are left, and all the other possible ones will start 4 MPs every thread somehow

>>97538057>>97537643>I prefer a dead threadWell that's a little mask off but okay I guess. We'll continue on with nothing ever happening then, grasping at increasingly thinner straws while people desperately attempt to force runs to start.
>>97538266no because all the players are coming back! and it would stop me from sapping out the life of the general!
>>97538266I still agree with the person last thread who suggested cutting the old builds, but not the cyoa itself. I see nothing wrong with running MHA fresh again, thus entirely justifying its continued presence in the threadslaving. But the old builds had their time in the sun already and it's time to move on.
i don't think the cyoa should be posted either but this entire argument is retarded you guys are writing self insert fanfiction about the newfags in your head"i dont like mha so the reason newfags aren't coming is because mha is the OP image"you cannot know or prove that in any measurable way
>>97538321shouldn't we test it instead of just posting MHA for literally zero reason? I doubt that would prevent the MHAbros who are totally coming back from coming back
>>97538321so take off the mha shit for a few threads and test it. it isnt hard Einstein and then when you do your level best to shit up those threads to put your thumb on the scale and pretend youve proven your point you can claim victory and enjoy your narcissistic staring at dead builds
It's the fact that they want to post MHA and then come up with some nonsense like>if we stop posting MHA, we will be flooded with shitposters!to justify themselves.Literally what the fuck is the point? Stop being an obnoxious asshole and just stop posting MHA.

>>97538286If the alternative is trying to dig out those same increasingly thinner straws among a massive pile of human waste, then yes, that is actually preferable. Believe it or not, but you can make a bad situation even worse and some people shockingly prefer it when that doesn't happen.
>>97538319MHA can never have a new fresh run until we let the old one die for long enough for us to build up interest again.By keeping it and parading its corpse they ruin any hope of a revival

>>97538654I don't personally mind rolling in thread, but I know a lot of other people do. >>97538678I'm up for SW but given the temperamental nature of the thread we're gonna want like 5 people minimum before we consider committing yes. Above all I feel like we need a more specific scenario, whatever we try, but that might not actually be the cure to the malaise. In the meanwhile I'll start writing stuff up for UQ. I owe it to try.
>>97538595>which will get banned for being questing.quest is the saddest board on the site, no way the jannies would exile us there because it barely even makes sense for the threads and how we operate
>>97538691Yep. UQ seemed ok but I definitely don't click with it. Last Man Standing got pretty bad reviews from the crowd lol. And to be fair I don't think the comments were necessarily wrong. I did build him as a "supersoldier, but now kind of outdated" all rounder, and it didn't make a great build even if it felt logical that mad science pushing the envelope of the 1940s probably wouldn't stand out so much decades later.
>>97538691The thing about UQ is that it's such a barebones setting that there's not much to talk about beyond the builds. What are the Territories like?
>>97538705You mean like a specific battle, or specific year, or a shared mission, or what?
>>97538726I like him. I think it's mostly that the implications of Germany and Russia existing weren't something anons expected, or at least definitely wasn't something I expected.
>>97538738We should do Clone Wars kino since the prequels are the best the setting's ever been kinowise.
>>97538748Maybe that's a side product of what >>97538727mentioned, the setting being very minimal. You have the chance of accidentally adding things that aren't there necessarily. I just assumed it was like a near future Earth or something, which might not be accurate.
>>97538738>or a shared missionSomething close to that. Not to say that everyone is here for the same reason, rather an event is happening like a war in a single system or whathaveyou and everyone needs to have a stake in it. It sometimes drives a few players away, which is why it might not actually be the solution, but gives everyone present a reason to interact and something to build towards, making efforting later easier and more cohesive imo. This is just personal anecdote though, I've done better in writing when everyone's in a similar position because there's an anchor to talk about.
>>97538758Not gonna lie, every single time I look at the warlord cyoa the Byzantine urge to revive both deceased clone and Droid armies into the combined juggernaut they should have been gives me a little chub.

>>97538845>2 runs>overdone>worm had 6really now?
We try so hard to make weird scenarios but to be honest how often do we roll with the basics and stick with them? Republic VS CIS on some custom multi-world system is an absurdly strong foundation, maybe somewhere in the Unknown Territories with some Dark Side schizos if people want to play Darksiders without there suddenly being a hundred Sith.
>>97538854Yeah I don't think anyone in this thread likes nation building as much as I do. As far as being a force user goes though I got no problem with the be a jedi one either. Always thought it would be cool to use that skill where you turn your saber on and off to fuck with people in duels.
>>97538864What's the point of Star Wars without the force and lightsabers?

>>97538881you try too hard to be funny and fail
>>97538934I only really know of like one "be a force user" cyoa, if that's what you're asking. Its old, classic, fairly large. I assume you all are as familiar with it as I am, if not more so.
>>97538938If it's X vs Y then they just act as player antagonists.

We could do X vs Y vs Z with Republic, CIS and Local Darkside Schizos if people want more freedom one way or another while still keeping it relatively tight, or fold the CIS and Darksiders together but it'd personally feel fun to have Cultists and Capitalist-Technocrats as separate factions.
>>97538947>>97538954That one is pretty big, I would have to read it agin because it's been a very long time since I last read it. Any rules I should keep in mind as I go? Because if this starts I would rather not have to redo my whole build.
>>97539024I don't think we need to input any rules other than try and keep it grounded enough for a specific scenario rather than making Starkiller or Literally The Chancellor or something. Ideally we'd try to have a good mix of masters, knights and padawans, especially since the extra two enemies masters have to take gives them an absolute FUCKLOAD of extra points in the end, but if everyone wants to be masters then I don't mind. Custom ships are very easy to have in the plot. Custom armies are a little more clunky I think, but I'm not too concerned. At the end of the day "theres always a bigger fish", so naked powerfagging just means an equivalent opposite build can probably be made to keep things sane.
>>97539060Me
>>97539060Nobody but I don't think most anons want Starkillers to be running around because then nobody gets to be Starkiller and everyone just gets flustered.
>>97539076This. You can make very, very powerful force users in the CYOA without much difficulty, even compared to canon characters. There's no need to really optimize, and it's unimpressive if you do.
>>97539005If you're dealing with more Sith than in the original timeline, which seems likely, then it stands to reason that the CIS and the Republic will be much more... schizo, for lack of a better word. Palpatine will have more people grabbing at his oars behind the scenes, and the senators will be receiving a lot more confusing and contradictory reports. I wouldn't expect either faction to balkanize or anything, but I would anticipate a lot more blue on blue friendly fire incidents from both sides.
>>97539199Also, a slower overall war as a whole. Both sides are going to struggle significantly keeping coherent plans together long term. Palpatine won't be able to focus only on his own actions, the clone army is going to be running down fake trails and getting sidetracked, all that fun chaotic stuff that gives players more room to roam.
>>97539209>canon charactersbleh
>>97539209And technically, if we bother to actually have canon characters around (I imagine not, but we could), that means that Anakin gets neither as much influence from Palpatine or from Obi-Wan, since both will have a lot more distractions on their plate. Anakin would have X more years of growing up before hitting his crisis point/points.
What would you do if you got isekai’d into a truly awful setting? Like danmachiWould any amount of freebies make your stay more bearable?
>>97539221That's kinda what I figured, but you get what I'm saying about how the setting as a whole might be altered by our presence. Especially if extra sith show up, they have bigger ripple effects than others would.
>>97539247Danmachi isn't that bad a setting, it's the cyoa itself that sucks ass
>>97539221nta but the office of the chancellor is a pickable ally/enemy in the DLC so we know that the emperor at least must exist even if hes not doing anything openly in the adventure obi and annie are completely optional though aside from a small bit of fluff from one of the missions where I think it says people will think of you as a hero like skywalker if you complete it
>>97539247I mean 90% of cyoas you can become the strongest person in the setting, or atleast enogh to live peacefully.Shouldnt be much of a problem unless you get stuck in a nsfw one.
>>97539257The cyoa is perfectly fine. The setting is what’s awful.
>>97539247I'd fuck whatever girls I could with the points but even godhood gets boring if you're stuck in an isekai of any kind. Never really enjoyed that genre, felt too much like getting to have three cakes and eat all of them. Too much sugar, no challenge. Cheap and passing thrill without substance. Titties tho. Can't forget them.
>>97539247I imagine one's perspective would shift massively from media analysis if we were actually transported to another world. It stops having that level of disconnect and suddenly everyone and everything become real and have consequences. Unless you're a psychopath, your first instinct is going to be finding people you like and being the social animal you are, anyone who thinks they'd become some sort of gigachad sigma detached take-the-setting-objectively isekaiman is going to get a very rude awakening when their lack of attachments speedruns their mental health collapse.
>>97539257The only reason why it “sucks” (and only for multiplayer) is because it doesn’t have enough variety. Everyone is taking the same shit. No one is unique.

>>97539276>but even godhood gets boring if you're stuck in an isekai of any kindI unironically believe at least half of us here would eventually use our god powers to try and figure out how the hell the multiverse works and how to escape isekailand. >>97539284>It stops having that level of disconnect and suddenly everyone and everything become real and have consequences.I’m a realist. The story was still invented by a Japanese salaryman. >>97540091In fairness the gods of Bloodborne aren't necessarily all that powerful, they're more just extremely weird. Moon Presence is the filter because unless you're a nascent god you instantly lose. That being said, Bloodborne is technically high power mudcore in the sense that there's a lot of earlygame vibes of counting bullets and using opiods to not get your brain fried. It's more than powerful enough but mudcore posters don't care, they're just stirring shit.

>>97540121You need literally just 1 perk to be completely immune to normal weapons.
>>97540071Depends how shit the run is. Heroes have conflicted with Batman and his methods before it should be no different here. To be a vigilante is to be a criminal doing good, which means heroes wont just stand completely by if they dont want to.
>>97540083As you can see from the rest of the replies it doesn't change the fact they get treated as villains anyway. If there is no difference between villains and vigilantes then why the fuck even make a distinction? The fact they are a different category means they should be tretaed differently.
>>97540134Must we bring up the hillbilly tier robots? Hax doesn't mean your setting isn't mudcore.
>>97540148They are treated differently and given far more leeway dingus, doesn't mean they aren't criminals. You're not going to be allowed to go be a law breaking hero with a thumbs up and a pat on the back.
>>97540144>To be a vigilante is to be a criminal doing good, which means heroes wont just stand completely by if they dont want to.And that's fine. What is not fine is that the thread is acting as if every single vigilante is no different from a villain and will be hunted down on sight and executed. They are supposed to be an in between, a moral grey zone, but are treated as if they are to be exterminated. They get treated worse than criminals.

Villains are the real heroes. They represent the best of man, free from the chains imposed on him by the weak.
>>97539951Villains and Dracula are also excluded. The nazi guy unironically made the best vigilante. Leif and Leo come off as lazy bums for not just registering as heroes. If Leif was a former hero who went rogue because/vigilante who understands he wasn't authorized to kill bad guys without proof then sure. Leo just remains mentally deficient.

>>97540335I just missed that, he's fine in my book then.>>97540326Based on what I saw from the builds. Naziman is trying to find a leader and taking care of monsters along the way apparently, I missed that part with Leif, and Leo seems to be a Vigilante for his anarchy autism and hatred of paperwork.
The talk about heroes being the equivalent to cops made me remember a mp proposal about being cops in the same precincts and the heroes wearing suits instead of coloreds spandex make it easy enough to squint past the whole central organization and treat it like any other detective agency with the same paper work and red tape. I'd make a detective build if the cyoa was a bit better at making someone like that.
>>97540346That's pretty much right for Naziman yeah. The only detail is that he's sort of broken mentally and no longer fighting for evil specifically. He's basically the eternal regent, seeking whoever the next Great Leader will be, without regard for their moral standing. Power is the only thing he feels has value anymore, having been smacked around and rebuilt by so many people over the years. I think it's a weird catch 22 where there isn't much point making either in the absence of the other one, so they're getting less and less popular to make.I'm sure eventually they'll have a resurgence and anons will start building into the rising niche in typical anon fashion.

>>97541493>How does his power/skill spread look? I think it makes sense as a whole, but I'm not sure.I really like it. Pleasant to look at and seems good for a Rushdown character, only thing is maybe he'd have Fast Strikes but honestly the skillset doesn't really matter that much. His Impossible Skill is a little hard to parse from a quick skim so maybe you should put that under it for writefag purposes? One other thing is that>South Bend, IndianaMaybe Indiana existed before hand when he was 25 and that was a while ago but we're mostly running with the idea that real world countries don't exist (or at least no longer exist) so you may wanna change that.

>>97541523Ok, I can do that. I was going for a little Dark Superman vibe with the anytown, nowhere vibe, but that doesn't have to have an actual place name tagged to it. I took Heavy Strikes to represent him having some actual muscle, since most of his other skills are a lot more Dex-based and I didn't want to lose his faceclaim's beef entirely. Impossible skill is just all of his under the hood bioborg enhancements, so there's not as much specificity there, but I'll try to add something there.
