I've finished the first page of my Isekai WIP, or the rough draft, at least, and am enjoying the workflow. Here's a pixelated version to avoid spoilers but prove that I'm making progress and not attentionwhoring. Unfortunately I'm busy with my coursework and IRL obligations for the rest of the week so I won't be able to do much but I'm still hunting for pics and sketching down notes for later work. The gist of it is that you have six versatile, conceptual powers on offer, each of which has three aspects that fit together to form the power's greater whole.I like the customization inherent to some power systems, where the user can lessen or remove one part of their power to improve or alter another, so I'll be including a section of augments. You could remove one aspect to strengthen the remaining aspects, specialize on one aspect, swap an aspect with another power, and so on. There'll be a fair amount of straight upgrades to power, control, efficiency, etc. with no strings attached but those aren't as flashy. Changing the aesthetic, fuel source, mutating yourself for a boost are all possible. A few retarded ones are planned, such as 'All-or-nothing' where you burn your entire energy reserve for every effect that you do, for overwhelming strength and zero efficiency, and the inverse, 'Hundredfold' where you can't use any more than 1/100th of your energy for each effect for sublime control and almost no strength.What are some additional ways you would like to customize your power? Agelessness is already included in the baseline because you'll need it to avoid dying before you can change the world's status quo. Don't hesitate to give me every idea you have or would like to see. I estimate there will be around 40 choices for the augment section, possibly more. It will most likely be two pages.

You won't start off in a Dark Souls asylum or anything like that, it isn't fully grimdark. There are just several mutually hostile factions that wouldn't want a free agent with godlike potential on the loose. They won't know about your arrival at first and laying low won't be difficult, but the world's structure is on a decline and if nothing changes, it will fall apart in a few more centuries, and dissolve entirely in a couple of millennia. A diplomatic or scheming route is possible, as is starting your own faction, or assassinating a few big players so that one faction can dominate. I plan to have plenty of comfy elements and the situation's not pressingly urgent. I do personally like difficult CYOAs, and they aren't as common as they used to be. I'm slightly unsure of quests that aren't baked into the premise since they put expectations on anons, but an events section is brilliant- it allows anon to make his own quests while keeping up the sense of urgency. I think the CYOA will have the cheat section for determining initial power, the augments section for customizing it, a location section for lore, and an NPC section where you choose your allies, rivals, and nemesii. Allies can be ignored entirely to gain more augments but this will make life harder. I liked how Spirit Conscript did its NPCs so each character will have a bit on their personality, powers, and fighting style and then a little blurb on what their goals will be depending on their relation to the player, including neutral default ambitions. After this, there will be a threat section, describing what else you're up against, which you can worsen for more allies/augments, and an events section, for additional lore and things to do. So far I'm unsure if I need to have a separate faction section going over each one's specific forces and lore, or if it would be better to keep them more as part of the background. Breaking the stalemate in their centuries-spanning war will be your default goal, but betraying the world will also be possible.
