No, since ygo is an Eastern tcg and Eastern tcgs depend upon powercreep exclusively to move new product. Think about normal monsters. For a while, La Jinn was hot shit. He was shortly after replaced by MechanicalChaser, which was soon replaced by Gemini Elf. For all cards to have a purpose, the overall pool of cards would need to be considerably smaller and the power levels would need to be very carefully balanced. Instead, ygo just squeezes more into the text box, ups the numbers, or creates a new way to get big guys out faster which entirely outclasses the older guys.

Yes and it would be very easy. You print a single spell card, and no others, called "kill the opponent" and it does 1k damage to the opponent, it's HOPT, and you can play as many copies of it as you want as per the card text or core rules.
It's the only card so everyone plays it and it always remains viable.

Serious answer, no. If every card was playable it implies every card is balanced, thus there is no reason play anything except for some sort of subjective external factor like the art. First, go to ebay and search for "synthetic rope" because that's going to be infinitely cheaper than what they're asking for real ones you get as tournament prizes (often close to $1000) and fake/custom ones are still overpriced (~$200-300).

Go to a site like Staples that offers foam board printing. Trust me, you'll appreciate the rigidness at it's size if you don't want to frame it as even cardstock will go limp on itself. If you plan to frame it then why bother with the type of stock, just get it on cheaper poster paper. You'll often see it offered for events like weddings.
People have already upscaled a ton of cards and uploaded them to deviantart. You'll need to log into the site to download full res because the people who run the site are fags. This is the best you'll get in res if you don't know how to upscale yourself. Learn some photoediting to scrub any watermarks or run it through an AI tool.
Jam that into the printing website and fill as best as possible to the size you want. NOTE: you cant always go to exactly the edge and the site will often ask you if you have bleed accounted for. You don't so slightly oversize the stretching than the regular print area to act as bleed and accept a bit of it will be cropped. Often times a super thin sliver is enough or accept the white edges and cut that off yourself via a straightedge and knife. Some print services will even offer to cut it to size.
BONUS
Once you get the card you could look online for someone who will cut vinyl decals, have them cut out the name in a foil vinyl of your color choice like gold and give them a benchmark for a one of the characters in the name so they can scale it correctly. MAKE SURE YOU SPECIFY YOU WANT IT TO BE A TRANSFER DECAL to make application easier.
Total cost is gonna be like $100.

If this sounds like too much work, you can always solve your problem with money and go with the $300 custom giant card makers.

Yes, absolutely you can. The key is to nail down your core gameplay and build interesting side grade mechanics for it. If you somehow find that you have run out of design space, which realistically is incredibly difficult to do, and feel that your next step would require introducing significant power creep, you just close that game project and start a new one with all of your power creep steps you would have taken and balance those around each other. Anybody telling you that the only viable game design is profiteering booster pack design is narrow minded and doesn’t even enjoy games.

Aesthetically, many people enjoy the art. Sadly this is where the positives end.
Mechanically, they're shit and there's no actual reason to play them except as a pet deck. Everything they can do is outclassed by various other archetypes even as they were released because they are building from a bad foundation and have no direction.
Something that also reflects poorly on the archetype is that the majority of it's players (read: not the people who exclusively engage with the art) are extremely annoying.

If you're thinking about playing them, maybe don't. Buy the few cards you like as display pieces and be happy with that though.

Here's something to consider about Toons. Their last wave of support was in 2020. Their best monster is an inferior version of a card that came out in 2005. It doesn't have a lot of the weaknesses of Toon monsters, but it also lacks the double-attack and has the exact same restrictions as the original when you use his spot removal effect.

Their Spell/Traps? Actually fairly decent for what they are, and also considering that they are all extremely easy to search thanks to Toon Table of Contents. Not the greatest, but they'd be passable in other decks.
Their monsters? They suck really, really bad.

No, I don't think I will, in the second part of the series, writers basically pushed him into the trio with Yusei and Jack at the expense of Rua and Ruka and especially Aki which was a great character but was made a mere cheerleader because of his interference, for which I will never forgive. And why is that? Because the archetype he had, Blackwings were pretty popular back then. Another thing is that his signer dragon was literally never even foreshadowed, there was never anything linking to the Dark Signer battle, nothing, it was a fucking ass-pull, which is why I'm not surprised they didn't put Black-Winged Dragon in the new Crimson Dragon Quetzalcoatl, because he simply doesn't belong there. Any character which is made """great""" at the cost of other characters is garbage and shouldn't exist in the first place, I'm happy to see karma finally getting Blackwings and justice winning.

Assuming you mean the meta today and they're some sort of full-power, probably a decent number of decks could go at least rogue that are about 10 years old. Shaddoll (2015), Zoodiac (2017), Windup (2012), Nekroz (2015), Spyral (2017), Shockmaster turbo (2013), and you could technically count a bunch of FTKs but I'll leave those alone.
The easiest way to figure out such a question is to look at the ban list and see what cards are on there and think about what got them banned in the first place.

Are you talking about those decks in the state they were in a decade ago, or decks in general that have gotten support throughout the years that were formerly meta? Because depending on how broadly you widen the scope, Lunalight got 4th in worlds recently and Ancient Gear infamously went 6-0 at a WCQ in the middle of Fiendsmith Snake-Eye format.

If you're unfreezing decks in the states they were at in their height (implicitly meaning pre-errata cards and banlists from their times), then Nekroz and Yata Locks could pretty easily survive in the current meta-- the former due to Djinn and the latter because in addition to the lock. Any Rank 4 deck that could make Utopic Zexal (a 2016 card in Japan) or Rhongomyniad with at least 4 materials would also just be able to win on-the-spot. It's also convenient that you are asking about a cutoff date that's 2 years prior to 2018, the year of floodgates and FTKs.

People often like to site powercreep as some kind of deathblow that's going to kill a game but does it actually? I'm almost inclined to call the argument a sort of fallacy. Powercreep is constantly sited in all the big TCGs but somehow none of them have actually died, doesn't this disprove the theory? Sure it will turn away some number of people but it hasn't become substantial enough number yet to matter for any of these games.

Then you'd need to extend that to their exact banlists of the times, because in the case of CED Yata Locks for instance, there's a lot of hindsight in regards to cards that didn't see play in those times. Solemn Judgement is one of the easiest examples to point at. You don't really need that kind of things for Nekroz though because Djinn turned any one of their monsters into floodgates on legs that you couldn't shut off with negation. That card is ultra-banned for a reason.

Also, like mentioned before, a lot of generic shit that went into meta decks from back in the day are also still ultra-banned for a reason. Nothing to date has powercrept Shockmaster, Utopic ZEXAL, or Rhongomyniad. And one would be forgiven for thinking that pre-errata CED Yata locks wouldn't work very well in this day and age due to floating effects, but it is still pretty trivially able to just shut an entire game down on its own since not everything floats.

That's very insightful from a high level competitive play point of view. I think for me, powercreep comes down to whether or not an average player will need an entirely new deck to hold their own if they've stopped playing for a few years. My primary tcg is mtg, so if you're out for a few years it's usually a case of there being new stuff to explore, new ways to build, but average player vs average player there isn't going to be any real gap in mechanics that makes a tangible difference in game advantage. An example for ygo would be if you played before Synchro, you're majorly disadvantaged in monster speed and will need a major rebuild. Magic introduces new mechanics, but they aren't so game-warpingly relevant that an old deck is entirely outclassed. It comes down to grabbing a few new single cards versus needing an entirely new deck minus 2 or 3 cards that are still relevant or receiving support. I guess part of that comes down to design principles too though, with ygo being an Eastern designed tcg it does the whole hyper-specific sub-theme that's only relevant for a set or two and then gets dropped until it's time to entirely retrain and replace most of your old cards for that sub-theme. Magic is less of a restrictive build, so old elves are just as useful as new elves and can be mixed as you see fit without being disadvantaged mechanically.

If you mean meta theory crafting. Private competitive team group chats hosted on whatever platform. Anything public is subject to having randoms jump in and shit everything up. Downside is that you don't get to decide when you get to join one. You get scouted or "know a guy" to get in. If you don't have at least a regional top to your name or you're an expert at ass kissing then forget it.
If you mean for a specific deck. Archetype discords are your best bet but also have the issue of randoms. It sounds like you've already been through that though so you're SOL.

If you’ve been gone for years, of course you’re not just buying 2–3 singles. The whole model of any TCGs is built on selling new cards. If returning players could update with pocket change, the company wouldn’t make money and the game wouldn’t evolve. Yes, it’s expensive and profit-driven but that same cycle is what keeps the meta fresh and interesting for the people who actually kept playing. You can’t expect a competitive card game to both stay frozen for a decade and keep growing at the same time.

That depends on whether or not you're talking about seeing play in general or competitive play. The answer if the latter is No, because a meta will naturally form no matter what and the only way to keep every card seeing play is if there's so little deviation between the cards that they might as well just be exactly the same.

If the answer to the latter is Yes, then Yugioh already does that to an extent, though they have to content with years of outright incompetent card design that pervaded the game pretty much up until the Link era of the game (incompetent cards still get printed after that point, but they're not nearly as bad as the old ones). A lot of shit released approximately around and after HAT's time was pretty well off, but you still have to live with the reality that outright fucking stinkers like most Elemental HERO cards, the entirety of the Flamvell archetype, and most Pendulum-era cards that had overly-harsh restrictions and bad scales just exist in the game.

Yeah there isn't really a lot or any other people here that are actually good at the game in a competitive sense. Speaking as someone who tried to see if anyone else went to US Nats/WCQ last year and had a freebie to give away for this thread and got 1 response only after the event.
I'm not saying the people here don't know the game, just that most would fall into the casual category. Though I should cover my ass and say there's a decently number of non-players ITT who exist only to shitpost and talk out of their asses. Just ask them to post their decks with timestamp and they get defensive.

TLDR Sure if you like at least 1 of the decks, just go in with the willingness to learn.
It will help you get your hands on a bunch of staples if you want to break apart the decks but 2/3 of the decks in it are perfectly serviceable to play out of the box. The rose dragon/akiza deck is there most likely to shill the black rose cards that came out in the core set released next to it. In theory that one could be brought up to par but if you're going to spend a bit of money on one of the decks you're best off upgrading one you actually want rather than try and balance the box.
The Junk/Yusei deck also has a bunch of cards in sets coming out now that give it a lot of consistency but it's decent out of the box.
The blackwing/crow deck is the most "viable" in terms of play and included cards for your purpose. Consider this one over the others but as I said it's your call which you decide to take further.

In that case you'll really want to also get the support cards from DOOD if you want to give it an edge for locals. Thankfully it's all pretty cheap besides bramble rose dragon which is still only $7 per and you only want maybe 2 of them.
Since you're completely new, ygoprodeck is the largest decklist repository where you can get an idea of what people are playing and at what ratios. You can even export lists to test in free clients like EDOpro or YGOomega (see OP)
