I've never played a PF2E game that used golarion because everyone in my friend circle thinks it's kinda boring as fuck

On the note of the errata, it's been said that there will be another Paizo Live later this month to go over the actual products, since the Daredevil and Slayer playtest was more a treat for the fans. They will likely discuss the errata and PC2 changes in that event.
>>
the fact even Reddit is pissed off at them really shows how much they have fucked up with the latest content
>>
>TQ
IMO the only piece of lore worth a damn is the idea of the “Fey” plane being called the First World and having it be the beta version of the actual world.

I think that’s a neat, clean way to do Fairy and Fey stuff. Unlike DnD “feywild” which is just sorta there and feels tacked on
>>
>>97560978
Shame that paizo did fuckall with that idea though
>>
I feel like a lot of the reason why Golarion is kind of boring is because you need to work really hard to make the campaign plot and main threat yourself. The setting feels very stable.
>>
>>97561104
It's like LANCER, but LANCER is still somehow worse

>>97561104
Pretty much a reason why I have long said that Paizo should have done century or so time jump between the editions, and let the new threats and problems to build and develop.

A friend is positing a gestalt game based in a sort of post disaster/apocalypse fantasy world with a lot of untamed wilderness. It's first party prodcuts only.
I was thinking wither a two handed fighter or TWF ranger as one of my gestalts but trying to think of what would work as the other half, I'd like something with some decent versatility and while I could just go fighter or maybe slayer to huntmax it feels like I should be picking something else. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm working on a bad guy for PF2e and I want to give him an ability that would let him take a human shield, any suggestions?

I'm thinking so far a fist/unarmed attack with an automatic Grab, and while he has the creature grabbed, he gains a +2 circumstance bonus to AC or something like that. Maybe he gains a special reaction where he can force the grabbed creature to take something that would've hit him (unless it was a critical hit). I'm open to ideas.

>>
>>97561531
How complex do you want it? In general you want to avoid doubling up on the strength of your two classes, which is why martial/martial combos usually aren't worth it. Like, if you choose Warpriest to your Ranger then you've now got full BAB, 6 skill ranks, all good saves, 6th lv spellcasting of self buffs, and even more feats.
A gestalt concept I've been dying to try myself is a Voice of the Void Medium, which would definitely give you enough versatility, but may have too many moving parts for you.
>>
>>97562071
I mostly want to shore up the weaknesses of Ranger (Bad will saves), maybe get some extra spells, and versatility. Inquisitor and Warpriest are both options I was looking at.
>>
>>97561974
I'm playing three games right now.
First guy has a more down-to-earth medieval setting with a lot of cultures inspired by earlier than medieval stuff like arabic and eastern european stuff. Our current continent is mostly plagued by racial tensions and local warlords tormenting the populace, with local revolutions and resistance groups attempting to fight them.

Another guy has a darkest dungeon black reliquary mod inspired setting on a desert where we play as criminals trying to take down a major mercenary group. The desert is cursed and the dead re-rise into monsters that turn into armies. There are tons of cities that use the desert strange phenomena to their advantage and create warring dead armies

I personally GM a PF2E Hack that turns it into a mecha action game inspired by armored core, with mecha building and a firearm/movement focused combat system. It takes place on a post-war setting in a fantasy world, but set in the modern/current era populated exclusively by anime furries, where a war broke out years ago against planar alien monsters that nearly wiped out the whole planet. The largest remaining governmental body set up a clause to let non-military civilians to legally build combat mecha, that they then use to fight back against monsters that now plague the entire world (and also use them in a variety of other fields). The mechs mostly use conventional technology we also have access too, with some magitech here and there, but their control system (which foregoes the need for exotic energy supplies you'd expect for mechs) are based on a colossal supermech that fought in the war. The players are civilian militia that take a variety of odd jobs that usually lead to monster hunting and they become better pilots and build better, stronger mechs with their mission money.

Everyone I play with mostly never really cared or even looked at Golarion stuff because, it just feels like Forgotten Realms 2 - Now with more stuff!!!
>>
>>97562195
either you're high off your farts or you haven't actually read golarion for you to think any of that abysmal dogshit is anywhere near being a better setting
>>
>>97562176
Both are good choices with plenty of self-buffing to counteract what I'm guessing is gonna be a shortage of magic items/gold (post-apoc, so most likely). Warpriest will be a bit more versatile in their spell availability day to day since they're prepared casters, which may be relevant depending on what your party members are playing. If you absolutely need to cover a lot of bases by yourself like free access to any wizard/cleric spell during downtime then I'd look at Medium.
>>
no offense but golarion sucks

I like it. The only other way I can think to do it would be to make it passive instead of a reaction, depending on whether you want this to be an "always-on" thing or not. Stealing wording from Champion's Sacrifice and the Shae's Counterattack ability, it might look like this:

>Human Shield (Passive): While [NAME] has a creature grabbed, [NAME] gains standard cover and can Take Cover behind the grabbed creature. If a Strike misses [NAME] due to the bonus provided by this cover, all the effects of the hit are applied to the grabbed creature instead.

This keeps the permanent +2 AC, but instead of a reaction, it turns the "human shield" part of the ability into a passive chance, which the creature can increase by using the Take Cover action. Just a different way to do the same thing if you had something else you wanted them to do with their reaction each turn.

>>97562560
>dark archive remaster drops and the only changes are a nerf to IW, a complete gutting of Psychic archetype into possibly the worst casting archetype in the game, and minor cleanup to psychic itself that doesn't buff it in any way
>The errata we were waiting ages for sneaks halfway out with no announcement, and the biggest change is a "clarification" to instances of damage that allow a single strike with stacked effects to trigger a single weakness multiple times, which throws a lot of assumptions about "careful damage calculations" out a window and are bizarre with the rest of the system's design
>the newest two playtest classes, Slayer and Daredevil, are just Ranger 2 and Swasbuckler/Monk 2, when people wanted those classes to get more/better stuff
>>
>>97562195
All of these sounded cool up until the mecha furries.

if Paizo wasn't stupid they'd hire Ryoko Kui from Dungeon Meshi to make some official PF art

I stand with the "Pathfinder should go full anime" crowd.

So I'm working on my next Vtuber sheet and the streamer in question has me a bit stumped, caught between two paths. The tl;dr of her lore is that she's basically a "fallen angel", not in the Enriyes sense but more in the "we've stripped you of your powers and banishing you to the mortal realm until you Shape Up" sort of sense.

Just from her design (pic related) I feel like a Balisse Angel would be a good benchmark for what her original form would have been, but from there I've basically got one of two options available to me, one is basically that I just take the baseline creature and then strip it of all of its spells, aura, special abilities, etc., and just leave the basic stuff you'd find from the HD, or I could take a page from the Owlcat games and (spoiler) copy what Tristian's deal was in Kingmaker where if you follow his story you find out that he basically used to be an Angel as well before getting tossed down into Golarion, and statwise was represented as a basic Human.

Either of these options come with their own benefits and downsides, but I figured I'd pick your guy's brains on which option you think works best, or even if there's a third option I'm not considering.

Golarion is lame and gay. It only got lamer and gayer with PF2e. I'm able to get over that because I'm not beholden to running shit in the setting, but once in a while it's funny to bring up the unrelenting faggotry. What would you like to talk about instead? What part of Golarion do you like? I think the Jistka Imperium was pretty cool, some sort of techno-magical bullshit.

Build-autism time: Monk with Knockback Strike into Brutish Shove. That's a Strike, a potential full-bonus Shove (that doesn't contribute to your MAP), then a MAP -5 Strike with a second Shove as a rider effect. As far as I know, this is the only way in the game to get two of the same athletics maneuver into a round without screwing up your MAP or giving up a Strike. That's great news, because now you can stack every feat that grants damage on Shoves and benefit from them up to twice per round.

>Punishing Shove (Guardian): +STR, plus up to 12 more. Doubles on crit.
>Brutal Bully (Barbarian): +STR again.
>Powerful Shove (Fighter): +STR a third time if you Shove them into an object.
>Improved Knockback (Monk): +up to 4d6 damage if you Shove them into a creature or obstacle. NOTE: this also deals damage to the thing you're smashing them into, so you might skip it to avoid pummeling your flanking allies. On the other hand, it effectively doubles the damage if you smash enemies into each-other.

Grab Twisting Petal stance for a passive +1 circumstance bonus to Shoves. Or go nuts and be a centaur to turn successful Shoves into crits with Practiced Brawn, though I think that might be overkill. Combat for you consists of picking a target, bullying them into a wall (or creature), then pic-related. The wall isn't strictly necessary since most of your damage comes from your Strikes and Punishing Shove, but it'll be nice when it happens and--considering you're making up to two Shove attempts every round--it shouldn't be that uncommon.

The build's only really possible in a Free Archetype game since it requires multiclassing into basically every martial class, but you can get everything except Improved Knockback and Brutal Bully by level 10, just in time for 11-20 APs. You could do a 1-20 AP too, and you do get Brutish Shove pretty early at level 4, but your full combat round doesn't come online until you get Knockback Strike at 10, so a 1-10 AP would be a waste.

>1e game
>Rolled stats, actually bretty good rolled stats (at current level 22,18,16,16,14,10) but playing dex monk so you don't really see them that great
>been playing for almost 2 years
>GM: "I've been noticing more and more that your character is the first one to fall unconscious, you're the only meleer and your AC, HPs, to hit and damage aren't really that great for someone taking all the hits"
>My brain: Yess, he finally noticed, I didn't want to be an ass and complain to much
>Game goes on a 1 year hiatus
>GM: "Ok I want go back to the game, but I'll add some changes to improve everybody's experience..."
>My brain: Fucking A!
>GM: "So you'll now all get 20 point buy instead of your stats and automatic bonus progression instead of your magic items"
>Me: "Ok what the fuck? literally everything you said my character wasn't that great before gets even worse"
>GM: "Don't worry, I'll add 2 npcs that will do your job"

Am I being soft banned from the game or something? I thought not complaining was the good move but now it seems it wasn't. I lose at least 30 HPs, my saves, AC, to hit and damage are 2-3 points down, I lose like 3 maxed skills and 3-4 feats...and now there will be 2 DMPCs that will humiliate me even more. GM keeps saying "trust the plan" but everywhere I see I'm the one being punished the most
>>
>>97564866
>...and now there will be 2 DMPCs that will humiliate me even more.
Tell him those exact words. Maybe he simply doesn't realise such "help" will have the opposite result.
If he insists, just quit. Don't be an ass, but playing a bad game is worse than not playing a game.
>>
>>97564866
Pf1e is unique in that PC sucking is usually the GMs fault. Unless PCs are allowed to use the Equipment Guide like an Amazon shopping cart, you are completely at the mercy of the GM for having a viable character past like level 3. Since it sounds like your GM is retarded, the PCs will also be retarded. If the GM was going to reward you the items necessary to make your character viable, you should have been trying to craft them, even if it grinds the game to a halt, so maybe he gets the picture.
