My decks are engines through and through, outside of draw and removal, but even then sometimes I can find synergy there. As far as I' conserned, if you're running gravehate that otherwise does nothing for your deck as a whole, it's the same as it you're running tribal hate, or planewalker hate, or any other archetype hate. It's just a dead card unless you happen to be against a deck that uses it, in which case you completely pan their deck and it's no fun.

A while back I came to this thread to just share that I started playing magic (After not playing it since the mid 00s,) and found that the most popular format at the moment is commander. So I just googled Legendary creatures until I found osmething I thought looked interesting. I came to this thread and y'all gave me some really good words of encouragement and I appreciate it. I figured I'd give you an update.I decided to make a frog deck. I didn't think it would be very powerful, but it turns out frogs are quite good in the casual game. I think that they're most unassuming and simple, and most people don't take them as a serious threat... But I've not been playing very long, and I've won many games by just kind of sitting back, letting others do their thing, and then suddenly breaking out a big combo.I won two games using Twenty-Toed Toad. Once from card draw because someone had a card that let everyone draw an additional card each turn... And then the other from cramming +1/+1 tokens on him. I'm also proud of a quiet victory where I let the other players tear each other apart before I used Rampant Frogantua and Overwhelming stampede to give all my creatures +23/+23 and trample.But I've also managed to score a big win by locking down a deck that relied on the graveyard with Froghemoth.So, I just wanted to say thank you and that your all's advice and encouragement has led me to having a good time.
