The army works well and hasn't been fundamentally changed like space marines or imperial guard and they aren't stuck with the knowledge that their army both works and looks better in 30k than in 40k. The only criticism I could have about the current Eldar line is that Karandras is missing and base sizes of models updated before 2019 are all over the place but both are pretty easy to fix.

The situations where it's total aids are when you're boxing them into their deployment zone before they've even had a chance to move forward, but this depends on the distance between deployment zones of the mission you're playing, whether you get to go first, and whether your army has units that can cover that much distance in a single turn. So things like Scout movement (pregame movement before you even get to your move phase) or buffs to advance rolls, buffs to movement stats, etc are what you want to look out for for that purpose.

Some of them are human, some of them are alien, but they're ultimately all just differently shaped guys with guns and/or swords, Tyranids are the only non-humanoid critter army in 40k. There's an inherent machismo associated with army solders and guys with guns, and if that's something that doesn't mean anything to you or is even a slight negative, then when you're checking out the model sets and all of the armies are basically differently shaped and colored army soldiers with guns. Because of this, 'Nids stand out as an army of something other than soldiers with guns, and it helps that they've been the adversary forces in a couple of edition launch sets.
speaking of nids, I dunno if im in the minority here but I personally think a good portion of the range could do with another refresh. The big monsters, you know the actual draw of the army, all look horrible and dont even have the benefits of being super good kits with build options.
