>>97592952Gentlemen, does anyone have high quality scans of the Liber Astartes or Heretics? I want to have the heraldry sections for the Dark Angels and Emperor's Children. I found the Liber Astartes in French but I can't translate the page or edit it.

>buy mk vi assault squad>comes with 4 shields>neat>studded pauldrons are in 2 piecesThat’s wild. The old 40k Tactical Squad has them in one piece, I’m scratching my head here.
>>97592952Siege of Cthonia when Raven Guard deliverers pretended to be Justerian so they could waltz into the traitors' territory and sabotage a couple of titan repair cradles specifically to piss off the Alpha Legion.
Also, second best moment from Siege of Cthonia, though hardly unusual.
>>97593065Due to limitations in two-piece injection mould technology, the studs at the edge have to have their backs filled, resulting in smeared studs. Cutting the pads into two halves enabled you to reposition the pieces to remove this effect. Or invest in a mould that comes with multiple parts (like the baneblade kit), but that'd be even more expensive.

>>97593657If only someone would do a faithful recreation of the 2e Mars pattern bolter for modern marines. I love that dumb thing, but all the bolters got something funky going on with them. The new SoB bolters would be the closest, but they had to go and add a front grip to them, plus some of them have pieces missing to make them fit the bodies.

I'm having a time understanding some small details about HH as a setting. If it's Traitors against Loyalists, and Chaos was quite heavily a thing already, what's the problem with using CSM bits in your miniatures? Too easy and obvious, or am I missing something?
>>97593797Elitist hobbylet paypigs will scream at you for not buying overpriced gw crap made SPECIFICALLY for THIS game and not the other one because buying THIS one means shareholders are more than happy to milk it to death.
>>97593797Traitors didn't spend 10.000 years in the warp getting mutated and the vast majority of them don't even worship chaos or even know of its existance. 30k traitors when they are not wearing basic pa they have their own legion specific version of things like helmets or torsos which look different when compared to their 40k versions. Some of the 40k have mk7 which is a huge no. Also csm just look like shit but that's subjective.
>>97593812Depends on the legion. TS aesthetics just got more elaborate over the years but you can absolutely use 40k aspiring sorcerers as psykers in 30k.Same with WB. 40k legionnaires make acceptable WB Vets since they were drinking chaos koolaid on Calth.
>>97593829That's because 40k TS were made exactly to be mixed with the 30k mk4 plastic kit for 30k which is an exception that I forgot to mention but generic csm for WB is a bit pushing it because the legion specific stuff doesn't have that look. Like I could see their helmets as an artificer armour one but the legion specific helmets that we got were pretty tame compared to the 40k ones. The trim also only appears on the nu-resin praetors so far.

>>97594172If you've ever built the kit, you'll notice the sponson sprue is missing a piece of the sprue around the sponson gun muzzles. And that all the guns have "drilled" barrels without being in multiple parts or anything.
>>97594195according to instructions it truly does appear that sponson bits are "pre drilled". fascinating, thanks! I hope recasters have it the same...
>>97594195Why am I suddenly angry?
>>97593797>what's the problem with using CSM bits in your miniaturesLegion depending there really isn't an issue with it, though you wouldn't see too many "demonified" models outside of the WBDG had full on 40k era plague marines from the second mortarion fell, WE were always buttfuck retarded murderhobos, EC were always tights wearing faggots, and thousand sons were always wannabe Egyptians covered in filigree
>>97594153I will not add lightning on all models, only on elites such as terror squads, raptors, terminators and veterans. Line troops are mostly "normal" in my army
>>97594176well you say that but that's how heraldry worksin general your heraldry inherits from the body or individual that grants you the right to even have heraldry, so while you can sometimes select from a choice of heraldic devices that all represent them, you can't really make stuff up from nothing, so this guy can't just paint sonic the hedgehog on his knee because it's not part of the scheme; maybe if he was somebody important he'd get away with it, but it's unusual unless, in this example, he'd personally killed sonic the hedgehogbut the detail of how you interpret heraldry to be unique is what matters; so the number and order (black-white-black or white-black-white) matters even for checkers and for marines it appears to matter where on the armour they're located, the colours matter (one guy below him has red and white checkers; the other tactical marine has the same marking on his right leg, but in white instead of red), and the more senior figures have more complex heraldry as a result (the blue/yellow knee on the right guy, the blue/red shield on the terminator)in heraldic terms all of this matters and ultimately is just some individual's tedious personal backstory, but the broad strokes stay the same both for ally recognition on the battlefield and for ease of understanding, so if you know the lineage's general history you don't have to sit and listen to it from everyone who bears some of that heraldic tradition
There was an anon earlier this week asking who it was that lead the battalions and/or platoons in "standard" legion layouts, and the answer is centurions and optae respectively. The designations of Praetor, Centurion, and Optae are actually just catch-all terms used to describe individuals of note>Praetors"In their ranks can be found chapter masters and lord commanders, first captains, khans and tribunes">Centurions"The centurion represents such leaders, champions, and line officers...""...Whether a company captain in charge of a thousand legionaries, or a field lieutenant in charge of a boarding party">Optae"Optae had a number of different titles among the varied Legiones Astartes, from Adjutant to Lieutenant to Dominar"

I didn't realise until after I cut them off the sprue but legions imp tactical marines have a lot of idk the word but the projections of extra structural plastic that makes the mini more robust i.e connecting the inside of the bolter arm to the chest. How do I paint that? most of it isn't that bad but the little decurion due has some at the top of his head supporting the crest. it if I painted it all in the crest colour that nigga would look like he's wearing a striped slouch hat. >>97598020alcohol is not that great at removing paint. Biostrip 20 is genuinely the best paint stripper I've found. I've not tried it on enamel tho. The last time I had to remove enamel on a metal mini it took hours of scrubbing and several baths in solvents like white spirit, turps and acetone (don't use those they will melt your plastic shit up). Generally that's why I hold that anyone who uses humbrol paint on plastic minis should be shot.

Did they literally scale up the gorget in CAD?It's an adaptation of a Skitarii that needed to cook a little longer, while >>97600414 is its own thing and just doesn't give a fuck, and looks 100x better for it.
>>97600945>is its own thing and just doesn't give a fuckI just realized why that's so much better, Admech has all these canon (in universe) designs and resists heretek, right? Logically, they shouldn't be altering designs, so it looks weird to have modified variants of specific types of armor. Meanwhile, they clearly have no compunction about slapping together different types of tech (see: any tech priest ever) so the Myrmidon Destructors being super riced up tech priests looks more Admech.
>>97599835Dark Furies are up there with the best melee units in the game right now, they will almost never fail a charge, they have 5A each and autowound at AP2 with you selecting the target of the Wounds 1/6; their first-turn move (including a set up) is a minimum of 19" so you can set them up far enough away that they won't lose much if anything to shooting, then charge and kill something valuable put a Praetor or Champion in there with twin talons and you can be making 7A at WS6 with the Decapitation Strike Gambit; the Champion can have Paragon of Battle and hit at WS7, 7 times, and simple eviscerate Line units off objectives single-handed"bad at melee"

>>97602960No, it was a fringe headcanon from like 20 years ago based on a schizo interpretation of "Death to The False Emperor" not referring to Emprah being le bad but that it was Horus on the throne and the CSM were butthurt about this for reasons. TEaTD dredged up some old speculation as people really thought there would be all sorts of shocking twists like Sanguinus killing The Emperor, and the r-introduction of things like The Star Child didn't help.

What model are you proudest of anons? Mine is my House Devine Seneschal, he's the old resin Castigator and gets little upgrades occasionally.
>>97604056I can't believe a slot on the decal sheet was wasted on these literal whos and house krastMust have been someone's pet project.
>>97603356I mean, if you count immortals as breachers then definitely the IH. They're used quite extensively for both frontline duty and boarding actions IIRC>>97604056The way that knee bends disturbs me by imagining how it would walk forward
>>97604056>>97604065Although I should add your model looks good.I like the sonic shriekers you gave him. And the flag under the bolt cannon is great.
>>97604065I must have misunderstood you anon, it seems as if you called House Devine, one of the largest and most prolific houses to align with the Warmaster, who are the villains in the best AT campaign book, who have a pedigree dating back to the original Epic when they were creepy Slaanesi horrors, who give us a glimpse of good intra house politics in both the Devine Adoratrice and Vengeful Spirit, literal whos? Surely I just didn't understand what you meant and you didn't embarrass yourself?
>>97604083If it's not in the black books I don't care.

>>97604009Despoilers and assault marines weapon options should be identical.
>>97604009>>97604110The whole point is sword and pistol marines. If people had the option of course they'd always replace the useless pistol with a shield but then what would be the point?
>>97604086Book 6 retribution
>>97603378They also use the shields in the scene where kharn tries to steady his men and have them hold position instead of charging a 13th legion shield wall only to fail when the nails make them all charge. I only remember because I was skimming the book looking for descriptions of Kharn's helmet crest which it turns out is white so the crests for my little world eaters in my mind will be>White for captains of great company rank and senior legion officers>Red for company centurions >provisionally white and red stripes for the legate of a cohort/battlegroup (I'd prefer something more striking)>blue for decurions>simple undyed horsehair veteran sgts and whatever kind of sub-decurion leads a company support element. >>97602883Leave them to soak overnight. denatured alcohol is the THIN WRISTED femboy of solvents but the reason its the first thing people recommend is because you don't have to worry about it damaging the plastic. I wouldn't use a knife, get a toothpick or some similar small pointy object made of wood or plastic to remove paint from crevices. Also consider a nylon nailbrush the bristles are stiffer and won't bend like a toothbrush allowing for more aggressive scrubbing. I stand by biostrip 20 but its pricey so I understand not getting it.
I have a question. I build 8 veteran breachers, gave them 2 axes, 3 maces and then I took 2 lascutters and sgt with twin claws. I shouldn't build units, because of YT video hype , in the future. But right now the dudes are build and painted. Now am I reading it wrong that a sgt in the veteran breacher squad can only have 1 claw (just like regular dudes in the unit) and to have 2 lascutters I need to have full 2x5 dudes?
Is there an army in Warhammer with this kind of a big guy/asian samurai feel to it?
>>97604274yes, need 10 dudes, no, sgt can't have twin claws
>>97604290I was worried that it would be the case. I guess I have a 6 men strong veteran breacher squad with 1 lascutter and a centurion with twin claws and a boarding shield.
>>97604274Veteran breacher sergeant can't have twin claws, correct. Veteran breachers can however have 2 lascutters per 5 models in the unit. >Build because of YT videoNever, and I mean NEVER, trust warhammer YT videos. There's always some huge rules mistakes in them. Always check the rules yourself. Veteran breacher rules are in the free legacies rules PDF, so there's no excuse not to have read it yourself.
>>97604298yeah. First squad I build. Do you think I could run them as pretorian command squad. Their sgt can have twin claws, I am just not sure how different in size are combat shields and breacher ones. But then again I would be left with two dudes with lascutters, as I think only breachers and veteran breachers can have them, Guess I need to buy another box to build the unit lol. When I think how much I had to pay for a set of two claws for each hand. May as well have bought a regular pretor/centurion to be a sgt. Costly, but needed lesson I guess.
>>97604298Wait there are free rules for Warhammer? I thought you needed to buy those big expensive books to play. I kind of a postponed buying those, with the idea (wrong it seems) to buy them after I finsh building my army.
>>97603581Despoilers did get their own separate store listing on FW's old site at the time though.
>>97604315legacy unit rules are free, you can't do much without actual rule book + liber
>>97604309Maybe just replace the sergeant model? If you're also going to build a despoiler squad for example use the twin claw sergeant for that, and build a new veteran breacher sergeant.>>97604315HH has quite some free rules, check the warhammer community site's downloads tab. The core rules aren't free however, but if you ask nicely the anons of /hhg/ will usually hook you up with scans of the rulebooks.
>>97604315Why the fuck would you buy the most expensive part of the hobby (The models) before you had the rules on hand so you might know what you are doing? Are you genuinely retarded?Decide your army. Get the rule books, learn what you are doing. Design a list, get models to fulfill that list.
>>97604322>>97604325Thanks that is good to know. Again another thing learned. >>97604325I have not thought about a despoiler squad. I guess I could buy chainswords from somewhere and have a unit of 10. This would leave with me troop section completed with two tacticals and despoiler squad. Guess I wanted a melee elite squad too much. I don't want to entice people to break the law. I had an older cousin who downloaded like 100 books for his masters (didn't want to buy them and we live in a rural area far away from big libraries), and they went after his ass for using telegram etc Police, relegation from school, had to do his masters in another country. And he could do that only because both of our uncles is a Vice Dean at a university in France. And our uncle had to translate his paper from russian in to french. I want to keep my head down, and not make too much trouble for others. >>97604327You are right that I was wrong. I guess it is because it is not me buying the stuff. Just every month, if I do good, I get a box of models. I don't think I am retarded, if I was I wouldn't have to worry about potential draft. I do agree with you that building the unit based on a YT was not a smart thing to do. Right now I have 20 tacticals, 5 seekers, 5 recon marines, 10 tactical support guys with rocket launchers, 10 tactical support guys with heavy bolters, 2 centurions in cataphract armour, 1 apothecary and Champion/3ed centurion in power armour. Plus the bad build squad, this is as far as build and painted stuff goes. And then I have an unassembled leviathan (scared to try to build him without destroying the model with plastic glue), 12 catphract terminators. 6 with fists, 6 with maces.
>>97604340What kind of surveillance country do you live in, that people get arrested for using Telegram and downloading books? What the actual fuck man.
After getting my hands on the Red Warden STL's to fix them, I can't believe GW redesigned Mk3 the way they did, its such dog shit. Nice baseball cap on your siege armor, faggot
>>97604424my marines support the mets though
>>97604393> And he could do that only because both of our uncles is a Vice Dean at a university in France. And our uncle had to translate his paper from russian in to french.I would say Poland
Guys this might be controversial... But I like 2.0 more.
Is it possible to assemble the Dreadclaw with the drop pod's engine assembly up top (provided you cut the cables running from the claws so the engine)? I feel like having a fully plastic assembly up top would help to secure the parts together better than resin on plastic, but I don't know if the resin piece that replaces the drop pod's plastic top affects the way the doors and wings come together at the bottom to interface with the new bottom.
>>97604446People can have different opinions yes. There's even some that genuinely enjoying eating actual shit, or playing AoS.

>>97604446Same, 3.0 has been a failure.
>>97604424How do they look?
I was told why it was okay for Despoilers to lose Spite of the Legion while Tacticals kept Fury in an edition where they also got full shots at long range and Line 2. But I forgot why that was.>>97604110I think Despoilers should get access to heavier options than Assault marines.>>97604120Not necessarily. You could have only a few.
>>97604653Heavier options like?
>>97604653They don't really need it. Despoilers charging out of a Rhino will beat tacticals in close combat 9.7 times out of 10, sending the tacticals running and securing the point they stood on. Don't really need to invest heavily into power weapons to do so, a pair of lighning claws on the sergeant already provides 4 attacks with AP 3.Despoilers being able to get 3 attacks also would put them on par with elite units like veterans, which is a bit weird. Despoilers also have Line 2 which almost nobody seems to know for some weird reason. Most games I've had to show the unit entry to my opponent because they were utterly convinced my despoilers only could have line 1 or vanguard 1 for some reason.
>>97604699NTA but despoilers already can take heavier options than assault marines, like nuncio vox and vexillas :^)
Oh look, 40k got its own Cerastus knights now. Who's taking bets the HH cerastus will become HH exclusive with the launch of 40k's next edition, lol

>>97604942It even needs a rocket booster to enhance its thrusting power.
>>97604937I mean I like the model, looks cool, but God is it painfully obvious that they're chomping at the bit to remove rules for the cerastus chassis in 40k lol. >>97604937looks 10x worse. I’m so glad that HH kept the good one.
>>97604937What's even the purpose of this, other than giving Admech a separate Knight kit that cannot be proxied with any of the existing kits?
>>97605026Not an admech kit.>"This incredible new Imperial Knights kit will be joining the battle at the same time as their Adeptus Mechanicus allies"It's a Imp Knights kit
>>97604937>old thing good>new thing badit's half the mass of the Cerastus so either half the price point or doubled up in a box, it looks good, it's fitting with both settings, it's not derpy like the Misterboombastic or whatever the fuck the big 40k knight is calledalso I don't see anybody proonting armorcast-style knights or updating the og Epic knights and would it kill you to make a tracked Warden out of half an Acastus and a couple of Spartans?
>>97604446I went back and played a game of 2.0 recently, it was painful. I can’t go back.
>>97605040So it has even less of a reason to exist? How about we get something other than the same fucking Knight in different sized for a change?
>>97605054even rereading the rules of old editions is like living with dementia, it's heartbreaking how easy the flaws are to see once a major change has fixed them
>>97605058Brother, it doesn't take the benefit of hindsight to realize brutal, deep strike charging, or every non marine army's balancing was a mistake, that was apparent from the first time reading the books
>>97605056these guys all had the same rules thoand they got done away with for the Epic Titan Legions box so that the plastic equivalent of these lads could take over; the later Epic Knights were extremely unified and spectacularly ugly, boring models, from which the Acastus (Castellan), Questoris (Paladin) and Cerastus Lancer (Baron) all ultimately derive, rather than these Goodwin 1990-ish versions
>>97605074Brutal was fine, Damage is fine (and even harder to survive than Brutal was)Instant Death+Brutal was the problem, getting rid of ID is magical

That they should be, because James got lazy and will never not be lazy?
>>97605056Knights are one-note and samey?Say it ain't so!But honestly, you can only do so much with the imperial knight design brief.
>>97605056>So it has even less of a reason to exist?Does that still surprise you about GW?
>>97605173It's almost as if theyvsjpuld never have been an army and just a one off super heavy...

>>97605185They should have been super heavies for admech and millita/auxilia.
>>97605202That doesn't make it not a temu Cerastus Lancer, James.
Do regular breachers have any real use in modern Horus Heresy, or do all line troop units boil down to taking four tactical units, maybe despoilers if you are a WE player.
>>97605206>Being a completely different size and unit entry doesn't make it a different unitIf it doesn't, I don't know what does, anon
>>97605213>One-bangs your spartan with a mere troops choice of 10 breachers with lascutters and melta bomb sergeantContrary to popular belief, tactical marines are the least useful line troops unit of them all. Despoilers have Line 2 as well and can remove tacticals from objectives without assistance, and breachers can do actual damage and survive more than a stiff breeze coming their way. All tacticals do is score VP once, then die. Or die before even scoring once.
>>97605243Not being a top player and with a limited expiriance. With 4 turns of game, and the 4th turn often not being played, a tactical scoring only for 1-2 turn is not that bad.
>>97604937I wish you could still take dominus knights in 30k, plus those new questoris weapons
>>97605202>>97604937Can't wait for the titanicus models
>>97605448Would have been great to have a knight with conversion beamer and big plasma cannon, but as long as it's restricted to 40k it might as well not exist. That game is so trash...

>>97604699Like Heavy Chainaxes. Currently only Assault marines can have them. It's the opposite of making sense.Let each despoiler be able to take a heavy chainsword if you wish, so they don't compete with power weapons on the same slot.
>>97605471Knights as a standalone army don't work period. At least not in their current form. Knights need to have some form of infantry and other support allied to them to be a believable combat force.

>>97605710I actually like them too but the stubby guns are a bit silly, though an easy fix.I like armigers too I think it's good to have an intermediate unit rather than just keep getting bigger. As cool as they are acastus are still so out of place.
>>97605779I think the medium knight is fine i jsut think argimers are retarded. If you want a small unit give us house milita like they did in HH.
>>97605810They're little squires who stop terminators from climbing up your knights and titans. it's a vital role.
>>97605471I really like the way that Titans work in 30k. They can’t score points so you need to field at least half an army’s worth of secutarii just to score objectives defend their legs from assault. It’s been fun(tm)
>>97605822They really should have a big flamer instead of a melta weapon. Why give the retard squire a loadout that will steal glory from the noble? Use them to clear the ignoble mooks. They should have more weapon options.

No one is going to run a despoiler squad with out power weapons. Both are good, both have a role but pretending that in any actual situation that a despoiler squad would not be mopping the floors with tactical is living in a fantasy world. Like lets not even consider how bad it would be if we did them at max sizes or if we are doing things like inderdiction squads.
>>97607003>sergeant with claws>4 attacks>likely 2 will hit>likely 1 will woundtruly ripping apart the tactical squad. maybe we should make him a master sergeant, and then he will truly annihilate it. nearly primarch tier.
>>97606683>there simply weren't enough unique units to even form a discount box.I disagree with this. Want a great battle force box? >10 man tactical>Rhino >Single set of melee upgrade sprue >Some random generic HQ modelSell it for 70 bucksBoom killer box right there.
>>97607013Oh i see we are just being pedantic got it.
>>97606820power claw not fist so i apologize but this guys power claw/lightning claw praetor is one of my favorite silly loadouts
>>97607022what's pedantic about this? was I supposed to assume all 4 attacks would always hit and wound and the sergeant would single-handedly be killing 4 tacticals a round?
>>97607017they're literally selling these(disregarding points per marine, plastic costs the same) in 40k for upwards of 180 us at this point, great as it would be just does not exist in this timeline
>>97607017Another idea>Land Raider>6 man(Really GW? 6 to a fucking box of a unit that starts at 5 and caps at 10?) cata box.Sell it for 120 boom great box deal.>>97607043Muh math hammer. Power weapons will mog on a MEQ unit, all you need to do is win comabt and force them to fall back and they have just been mogged on, problem solved stop pretending that fights go until the last man, fights go only until you lose combat and if as a result you get pushed off of an objective, thats as good as dead.In short, stop being a faggot.
>>97607069cata cap at 12 now anonand its good still because for example you could make a command slot out of the 6th guy
>>97607069>a fight happening on an objectivewhat do you think i'm doing, spending reactions to return fire? intercept? come on, anon, play a single fucking game and stop theoryhammering how much your power weapons will mog tacticals on objectives
>>97607069they cap at 12 now
>>97606697it was always plastic, they never made a pewter model that mass except maybe some of the dragons, which were notorious for falling apart even when pinned and just bending under their own weight over time; the Epic Titan Legions-standard Imperator is about 80% taller than the old Marauder Giant, which was the most successful large model in pewter (and didn't have lots of thin joins like the Imperator, and still needed pinning in multiple points)>>97606741Warhounds are one of the heavier classes of scout titan, and they're something like four times faster than infantry, twice as fast as land raidersRAW a Warhound is faster than a xiphon; on a 6x4 board in a 4 turn game a Warhound can get anywhere from any starting point and is only really hindered by its slow turning, but even then it can still stamp over little guys and absolutely fuck them
>>97607141No, you're probably one of those people wasting all their reaction points on moving tactical squads off objectives, who then gets their army completely neutralised in one turn because they have no reactions left to save any of their units or return fire any more.
>>97604464>There's even some that genuinely enjoy eating actual shitBut enough about people who think 3.0 is good.
>>97606973The reason that spears are good is because they can precision the nuncio-vox model so that when you win and they run away they have to keep running instead of getting back in the fight. You need four spears in the squad to make it work half the time for a legion that doesnt buff melee attacks though.
>>97606983>if wishes were nickels we would all be richI wish protons had half their mass
>>97606368>>Two tactical squads is quite a bit more points than one despoiler squad with one or two power weapons in a Rhino200 vs 180 is too different? Okay>And they will die to the first thing that shoots themSo would Despoilers. Hence all comparisons must be done in a vacuum, otherwise all comparisons end with "and then a Double Gravis Plasma Dread kills them all".>>97606368>>Tacticals only get to shoot their bolters at despoilers charging out of a Rhino if the opponent had a spare reaction pointNo, it would be the Tacticals' own turn. They dismount their Rhino and shoot, then they charge if it's convenient. Despoilers can't choose. They will make it convenient, or they'll die. No in betweens.
>>97607069I heard someone say MEQ die to guns and VEQ due to thunder hammers and bigger guns. And TEQ were harder still, so it seemed there was no place for actual power weapons: just guns, antitank guns and TH.I pray they are wrong...but MEQ do die to regular guns, so idk how to counter their sayings?
>>97607439The tacticals still lose the combat idiot, even if they are the ones charging and shooting bolters beforehand. Meaning despoilers leave your own double gravis plasma dreadnought free to rape the enemy terminators at range, but still forcing the enemy dreadnought with double gravis plasma to shoot are a fucking troops choice.
>>97607465Fast units with power weapons will send MEQ running way more reliably than guns do. Melee can easily result in such high modifiers that only a double 1 will stop a unit from running Unless they're DA Meanwhile the highest modifier a ranged weapon can inflict is like what, panic 3 with phosphex?
>>97606074> Dominius knightsHow about no faggot.>Plastic weaponsSure> PunisherI don't even know what that is> Mid size titan What's the niche. >>97607027This is sick. I like every little detail of this guy from the raven guard pack to the servo legs. He's got character oozing out of every bit.
>>97607607>What's the niche.Looking cool
>>97607627Meltaguns
>>97607614Units with jump packs or on bikes are the most common example. Units in a rhino are only fast until they disembark, though that can often be enough. Something like a five man veteran assault squad with power weapons is relatively cheap, will still absolutely shit on MEQ in melee, and is very obnoxious to get rid off before they jump over some terrain and charge anything that dared venture out of its deployment zone. >>97607627Same weapons that kill medium and heavy tanks. Just might need a few more shots depending on their luck with invulnerable saves.
>>97607649Hope you brought several meltaguns, because the melta rule does not work on dreadnoughts.
>>97607667Doesn't need to, 2 wounds kill them
>>97607198anon are you done projecting? other people, for the most part, don't have severe learning disabilities. if they were losing because they didn't waste reaction points on return fire, they would simply start using reaction points on return fire.if their actions lead to victories, they would obviously continue doing the same things.

>>97607836I thought we all agreed to bring that because it’s awesome
>>97607836Its the best thing to bring because its the coolest thing you can bring and its eaay on the wallet taking up like a 1/3 of your points
Are there scans of the skitarii journal floating around or has that not happened yet?
>>97607627Tanks. Two S7 blasts are going to do nothing to an actual tank.
I think the named space marines in HH somehow look better than the plastic generic character options. The two pack Cataphracti Praetor and Chaplain like nice as well, even with squatty proportions. I’d blame the details, it feels like they did too much with the generic options, while the named characters retained the iconic look of the power armor, even more Legion specific iconography.
>>97607866oh my yes
>>97604056Oh god there are so many...So rather unironically this was one of the few conversions that I've done that's actually unique. Usually I'm just ripping off of someone but I always thought the EC praetor would make a great heavy weapons guy with the extended reactor and the model came out just how I envisioned.

>>97609323god damn that's smooth. Is that simply the endless spells burning head and guillotine swapped onto khytan or did it require something more to do?
>>97609325Back in October iirc. Pretty ridiculous you can’t even get a basic infantry kit for under 70 bucks anymore, at least at msrp prices.
>>97609408Yeah it sucks that's why I panic bought two mkiv boxes a few years ago.
>>97604937Cool, but supposedly confirmed they're not getting 30k rules.
>>97609483not surprising, considering even the basic Knight Valliant / Tyrant / Castellan in plastic were intentionally kept from 30k.
>>97606272The lucius pattern warlord is cool but I prefer the mars pattern warhound. It needs to be be a sleek hunter and cute, CUTE! Anyway aside from my previously stated overwelming wish for a new version of the OG emperor class titan (which I now know is plastic not metal) the titans I'd like to see return would be traitor stuff that is unique in gameplay and aesthetic like the Subjugator/Questor (warhound sized scout titans but faster and more lightly armoured) or the Banelord but I'm not sure how you'd appease loyalist players (more psi-titans?)I'd also like to see the return of Ordinatus engines and the comparable mega-arty daemon engine like that khorne one that looked like something Mehmet IV would roll out but I guess that's more for Legions than Titanicus since I don't think Titanicus players would want anything that isn't stompy even if its in the same ballpark.
Why did FW slack so much when it comes to Forgeworld colors chemes and picture plates even when they otherwise had big roles and importance in the books?See also: Mezoa
>>97609641There isn't much point in making a lot of them when even the same forgeworld has different taghmata with different schemes like the Xana ones for example. Not that I don't want more of them but I see where FW was coming from when compared to marines which are the focus and SA, knights or titans which have a unified scheme for each cohort, house or legio.
>>97609657Still they could have given the important ones a single plate at least. instead of making a dozen marine thallax or random unaffiliated ones.
>>97609726What are we missing? Off the top of my head we've got some Xana, Sarum, Cyclothrathe, some of the ones in the UM zone, a lot of martian ones now, a couple of Zhao-arkhad and more that I don't remember. Mezoa didn't get one because the book it gets expanded on was meant to be about something else so they had to juggle stuff in to fill it up. It's also why Sarum has one in that book.
>>97609498That is true. If there's anything I want ported for knights, it's the conversion beamer and plasma executor the Defender introduced.

>>97609641Don't fucking get me started on this. I wanted to play Mezoa but they've got no fucking colours listed anywhere despite being such an important part of the resistance against Horus in the Dark Empire.
>>97610050>That's green and red, anon.We can agree to disagree.
>>97610053>>97609641This dude on (P)reddit totally met Alan Bligh and definitely actually asked him this and 100% got a real answer to the question he clearly asked.
>>97610053>>97609641This dude on WarCom also painted his guys up as Mezoa but I doubt this is the canon colours.
>>97609641>>97610053Finally, Mezoa helps train the 133rd Lambdan Lions and they are often seconded to AdMech control. The Forge World was founded by Lucius and both Lucius and the 133rd Lambdan Lions have a fairly similar colour scheme, so paint Mezoa up as a mix of the two and you'd likely have a fairly lore-accurate colour scheme.

>>97609374yes sir that is 100% correct
>>97610053It's weird. And technically we only know about Xana because it happens to be the same as Malinax and because FW did a Vulturax in their colors once. Though at least they had this line in the books which is more than others got.

>>97607478Tacticals lose the combat if Despoilers use power mauls, not spears. If Despoilers bring 3 power weapons, then the Tacs can afford bringing a power weapon on the sarge (yawn), a combi-flamer (O.O) and most importantly a vexilla (:O), which makes Despoilers still win combat...by 0.08 wounds. That is, less than 0.1 wounds.Use mauls instead to win combat by a comfortable 0.95 wounds. That way they kill 4 tacticals (they kill only 3 with spears), and the surviving 5 despoilers can snapfire 5 bolt pistols to the fleeing Tacticals - I assume they won't Pursuit since staying on the Obj for Line 2 is better than slay a Tac squad across 2-3 of the 4 game turns?
What's the most pathetic knight House?
>>97611148Bleh, this reads nothing like 30k fluff and just the 40k team taking a crack at the models.
>>97606741They are scouting for weapon platforms capable of hurting titans. They dont care about the leman russes or infantry formations. But are looking for shadowswords or stuff like that. So it (used to be) the smallest thing carrying around void shields. It's also fast and maneuverable (compared to a warlord) running around ahead of other titans looking for trouble for their bigger brothers, screams scouting to me.
