>>97615500TQ: looks like new "factions" are the implication. First Order and Resistance? Hutts and Mandalorians?
>>97615509Should have another batch of corpos/security troopers sealed and photographed tomorrow.
So, we still have a few shatterpoint events on this year. I don't mind playing a game with limited to no releases (partly selfish as I feel most of the characters I care about got released) but I think Amg/Asmodee are absolute dogshit at communication, and the last years limited releases had alot of our players fall off. If this was handled better I would think we could still get more new players, right now I can see the scene lasting a while, and even today we heard from some new people but I doubt it will last. Good thing the game is fun casually I guess, keyops was unironically fun.
>>97615518I could see it. They have already announced:>a geonosian battleforce>mad max battleforce for Bike GrievousThese were sort of "soft annouced":>hutt cartels>pirate battleforce>gungan battleforceI would personally really like yo get more /your dudes/ kits, the customisable commanders were great. They hinted at customizable bounty hunters in interviews too.
Chewie was my first furry experience.
>>97615518>First OrderOne can hope.
>>97615518>>97615820they are putting out sequel shit for shatterpoint, is it could be likely
>>97615518>MandaloriansIf we get a Mando army, I will painting them up as Neo-Crusaders, with leaders and heavies and grunts and everyone being the current colour, as GOD intended!
>>97615909>Neo-CrusadersKino king shit. I like you.
>>97615909>Neo-CrusadersBasedLove their overall design. I would have liked it if each suit had a little more personalization. If I remember the case it was that way in the various comics while still having a generally uniformed appearance.
>>97615949The uniforms were meant to look the same and standardised because Mandalore wanted to bring the various peoples under his command closer together, this + old game makes me accept the "attack of the clones" situation lolThe comics do have more variance though, with things like cloaks and armour designs being present >>97615909If they released a Neo-Crusader box I'd be all over that lol
>>97615667>>a geonosian battleforceHow? There's one unit and a hero box.
>>97615518Yeah, they will release Hutt and Mando stuff to go with the Mando movie. I think it's pretty noteworthy that there no excitement due to the shitty marketing.I'm still not hopeful about the movie itself, after Mando S3 and BoBF that character was finished and forgotten for years. And let's not forget the utter shitshow Disney started with the New Republic Rangers that then ended in a woke apocalypse. They just kneecapped their oen streaming universe, and now stand there asking 'Why do the evil fans hate us? They were supposed to eat the slop!'
>>97617129You also carry water for Disney when you use empty buzzwords. Just evaporates any room for more substantial critiques of their fuckups to gain traction.
>Not a single "Tales of" episode involves the First Order, the Resistance or is even set in the Sequel etaLolLmao, even
>big company announcement was mcp board gamejesus christ, hey speaking of bossfights amg where is that early 2025 Luke/Vader galactic legends rules drop
>>97617487tales rankingDooku>Ventress>Cad Bane>Ahsoka>Morgan>Barrisstales of the empire was shit but at least the morgan episodes didnt piss you off
>>97618262>BarrissEpisodes had gender language shit and therefore all involved in the creation of them must burn alive.
>>97618262Tales with Dooku is my new episode 1 and 2. (And I like TPM)
>>97618322Go paint minis. You'll feel better.
>>97617175The only empty buzzwords here are in teh AMGF statement, and whatever Disney shits out. But feel free to continue your defense of the billion dollar company, they sure need it.
>>97618602"Hey can you have a better takedown of what Disney is doing so we're not just repeating the tenth year of Nu Ghostbusters bullshit?"Yeah anon, I really went to bat for the mouse there.
>>97618595YWNBAW
>>97618622>a better takedown of what Disney is doingI don't want a le epic takedown, I want them to stop smearing shit over the franchise and calling it chocolate coating.>the tenth year of Nu Ghostbusters bullshitThey've been doing that exact same thing for a decade, and they wil not stop until WE stop giving them money. They don't care about our opinions, our outrage, their 'allies' outrage, their virtue signalling, or anything. They used to not care about money, either, but that apparently changed after Acolyte bombed.
>>97619122You don't want to see where we agree, you just want to be angry.
>>97619183I just find you calling the word 'woke' a buzzword ridiculous, and willfully ignorant of what Disney has been doing.

>>97615509my friend printed me my heroforge mini that I made for my character in our FFG FaD campaign. I've never painted a mini (or anything for that matter) in my entire life
>>97619507>my characterThat's just Savage
>>97619507Practice makes practice. You'll always have a soft spot for your first mini.
>>97615500Curious to hear thoughts. Asked this in a previous thread.I'm running an Edge/AoR campaign here and playing with two different alternate history set ups. I'm interested to hear which one seems more interesting to play in.Scenario 1: Post Endor. The Emperor has survived. Vader, Luke, and the second Death Star have not. The vast majority of the Rebel Fleet have been destroyed. Many rebel heroes are dead/missing. For how closely it was that his life was taken, Palpatine has now decided that superweapons are not the best method to rule by fear. Instead, he will accelerate the machines of control, of force. He will tighten his grip on the freedom of all galactic people. He will have the kind of control that will preclude a rebellion from happening in the first place. Theme: overwhelming oppression, desperation, fighting against tyranny, trying to find hope out of despairScenario 2: Post Endor. Palpatine is dead. Unfortunately, so to are Luke, Vader, Leia, and most of the Rebel alliance. While they succeeded in destroying the Death Star, much of the Rebel leadership has been lost in the battle. The Empire has now balkanized into warring factions, Moffs, Warlords, and sector authorities. Many of these are vying for ultimate control. The leading powers are directly from the Imperial Ruling Council who still hold firm to the ISB and maintain control of Galactic Center (Coruscant). Warlords consolidating their power to key systems have allowed for vacuums in imperial law enforcement and both piracy as well as more organized crime now runs rampant in the outer and mid rim sectors. Rumors are that there is a particularly talented Imperial commander who seeks to re-unite the Empire. Will they serve as a more benevolent autocrat? Will re-establishing the Empire bring order to the galaxy? Or will it rob it of newfound freedom. Theme: wild west, uncertain futures, much more crime heavy
>>97619752Kill Palpatine. It'll give you more room to take the story.
are crit builds as degenerate in practice as they are on paper? How does the GM balance around it without completely negating the other players' ability to interact with critical injuries?
>>97620104Yes and no. In a purely white room, lots of exp, superior weapon for the symbols, yes, absolutely, even Darth Vader only reduces crit rolls against him by 30. In practice actually getting piles of them is hard, anyone you can actually hurt regularly is probably a mook because adversary or whatever the name of that upgrade talent (Sorry, been a while) for difficulty that important npcs have tends to eat your symbols, and if you can do that much to someone you're probably already mutilating them in normal combat. I think Assassin has the most at 3 talents in the tree, and it won't really help with anything that isn't an actual assassination - you need to burn rounds to reduce defence from the enemy, etc. At that level of play everyone is killing one mook/round, so even if you combine across.. I don't know, bounty hunter and assassin, everyone else has their own One Weird Trick. The T7 is a pretty good weapon for that sort of thing, though.
>>97619752I'd go with 2, partly because I like the whole Imperial warlords thing in general, but mostly because chaos is a PC's natural habitat. If they decide they feel like liberating the oppressed in between smuggling/pillaging/murderhoboing they have the option of picking a fight with one of the moffs.
>>97615509do people print these from scratch?
>>97619769>>97620511I agree completely. It also opens up a lot of room for any sort of play they desire. You can also introduce a threat in a dangerously competent Warlord. Thoughts on non-Canon Thrawn as a main force in re-establishing the Empire? (Not enjoying the direction the Ashoka series is taking him)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9jiQBFp7Ik

the different eras of Star wars Writing styles>>>OT era (1977-1999) writing>campy sci-fi adventures with hints of eastern philosophy, largely lighthearted fun>Examples: Most tie-in books of the 80s >>>Prequel Era (2000-2013) writing>Greek tragedies with an almost obnoxious level of philosophy discussion, following the age of grim and edginess of the mid-late 00s with occasional lighthearted comic relief>Prime examples: Dark Lord Trilogy, Marvel Republic comics, Darth Bane, KOTOR>>>Filoni/Disney (2008-2013, 2014-now) writing>full blown cash-grabs extremely reliant on nostalgia-baiting, Retcons, and nothing else, trying hardest to be both campy adventure and Greek Tragedy but largely lacking the actual imagination required for it to work. very few actually good works while most are, at best, okay, and at worst, garbage.>Prime Examples (the few that are actually good): the Cal Kestis games, the spinoff movies (Rogue one and Solo), Rebels, Andor, Mandalorian (first 2 seasons)
Most Star Wars fans are evil retards and deserve death.
>>97623595>Greek tragediesI mean, maybe they tried to be, but the execution was godawful
>>97623784That would be a mercy kill at this point.

>>97623595>few that are actually good>Andorlol
>>97624640Andor was pretty good
>>97624649Not really.
>>97624652Yuh huh, my only gripe is the first arc of each season is kind of weak.
>>97624664Every arc is pretty weak.Mainly because most of the characters are non-entities except when they need to give an I’M ACTIIIIIIIIING speech directly to the camera but also plenty of other reasons.
>>97624691Ah, a retarded /tv/ refugee, should've guessed

I heard they sundowning Shatterpoint and putting it on life support like they did with x-wing, shame.
>>97625561So popular they made a second season. Unlike Kenobi, BoBF, Acolyte and whatever cloneslop cartoons tehy made.Only Filoni's waifu gets a 2nd season. And Andor.Andor was the best Star Wars since R1, and R1 was better than the prequels.
>>97623784Why don't you start us off, then?
Who's gonna tell him Bad Bitches got three seasons?
>>97626128I'm not a Star Wars fan anymore :)Fuck Star Wars and fuck its stupid evil retard fans!
>>97625852I will fucking well use whatever Disney made if it's cool.Like TIE Strikers and TIE Reapers.
>>97626144proves it's the best show
>>97625561>>97626031The Neilsen ratings are quite interesting. Book of Boba Fett actually did rather well, Obi Wan was slightly worse.Acolyte's debut and it's finale did "Just ok" numbers, but the rest of it flopped hard. Andor did much the same as Bad Batch, where it started ok, went down to middling, then shot up to Book of Boba Fett numbers at the finale (I suspect people waited for it to be out before binging)Ahsoka did the opposite of Bad Batch and Book, where it started very strong and went down to just ok.
>>97626184Ok you STUR WOZ faggot. Just don't ask any star wars fans ro participate in your AU.
>>97626005Asmodee is in serious debt, Legion probably going in the next couple of years. Hopefully a new company will make a new, better game.
>>97626603>Book of Boba Fett actually did rather wellCoasting on Mando successes, plus boba Fett was one of the most popular minor OT chars. Completely wasted the chance to do something cool, burned the cahracter.>Obi Wan was slightly worse.Shift into writing-room freefall and dumbass messaging instead of good storytelling. Wasting the characters of Obi-Wan and Anakin in this way was horrendous.>AcolyteI have no clue how high they were when they greenlit this. Three good scenes in the whole show, episodes barely longer than a tiktok video, utterly disjointed writing, scene-to-scene changes to wqhat motivates characters, plot varies from absent to retarded, etc. etc.>release scheduleYeah, they kneecap themselves on that front for some stupid reason.
>>97626633
>>97626304Second-best, if we're going by number of seasons, and only counting the shows produced since the advent of Disney+. Or is it third now? Can we lump all the Tales Of miniseries into one thing?
>>97615500I don't understand corpspeak, what does the OP pic actually say?
>>97628240"A subsidiary corporate organisation decided to make release almost exclusively on a few thing, and we changed some people around in upper management.""We're going to make more popular stuff, or stuff we think is popular.""Legion and crisis protocol are getting more stuff. Best of luck everything else. Shatterpoint might get a bit every now and again.""Seriously, all the money and jobs are going toward legion and marvelslop, we're also going to go the 40k route/mtg route and start releasing a lot of garbage.""Expect more socjus stuff as we try to reach beyond the people who are currently buying our product to people we think will do it, but definitely won't.""We want more money, but we haven't figured out that crowdfunding isn't really a great idea as a sole method of funding. So we're going to shuffle stuff and hope for the best."Seriously, 'challenging for the community' isn't a good sign.
>>97626855technically speaking, each tales is a "season", so yeswonder what ut's gonna be about this year
>>97619408A cancer. An insidious branch of humanity that spreads through the destruction of ideals and creativity. It thrives and lingers through passivity because it doesn't engage with criticism, it angles instead to starve its opponents by absorbing good will and understanding into its culture of hate and deceit.
>>97615500I feel like mercenaries never get any love in Star Wars. You've got bounty hunters, criminals, bodyguards, Mandalorians, but basically no PMCs
>>97628534Bounty hunters are basically mercenaries. The new Mandalorian movie is about him being a mercenary for the Republic, SWTOR was about the BH being a mercenary for the Empire. I don't remember armies of mercenaries, though. KOTOR has some on Manaan, but they don't get any focus.
>>97628534We do need straight up mercenary companies that deploy as troops for hire. Played something like that in the old D20 SW once
>>97625115>Go to a world to find Jedi>Kill people in order to find said Jedi>Kill said Jedi>Still respect Jedi's woke pronouns (?)It was dumb
>>97628573Also, woke gender language involving an infant in Ep3. Series was a mess for more than just the woke shite but it didn't help matters
>>97628573>>97628630who the fuck notices this shit
>>97628661Anyone that isn't a brainwashed leftist.
>>97628661If no one noticed, they wouldn't do it.
>>97628661NTA, but I am an ESL, and I don't know all the intricacies of American xe/xhe/them mental illness pronouns game. When I watched those episodes they said something like "They are hiding in the mountains", I thought they were saying that there are multiple Jedi hiding. Then they get there and it's just one dude, lmao. "They are alive, they need help!" It was so confusing and cringe. But then again, they also removed Barriss' tits and ass in these shorts. They do this with all the female characters now. They make them ugly and androgynous because the very depiction of female physical characteristics is sexist, apparently.
>>97628746>>97628702I mean, I call people they in real life. 'My friend? They are over there'. I did that before all this trans shit, its normal here. The only time I've ever been called out on it, was some weirdo with trans friends saying I was calling someone the wrong thing.
>>97628746For me "they" is fine when the person(s) that the speaker is refering to is unknown to them:>They killed my dog!But it's jarring when used for a known person:>Luke is a jedi, like their father before them.
>>97628805I've noticed it become more and more normalized. I've been referred to by friends of mine as "they". Like, are there doubts about my gender identity? Am I being fruity?
>>97628889People just say 'they' and always have, it predates the trans thing and had nothing to do with trying to be gender friendly or whatever
>>97628554SWTOR has some storylines that involve mercenary forces, most notably the Makeb one, where Hutts have hired mercenary armies to invade the planet in order to mine a valuable isotope only found there.
>>97628889>Like, are there doubts about my gender identity? Am I being fruity?Stop caring about how people see you, that's gay.
>>97628397Okay Sephiroth
>>97629053Am I wrong?
>>97628573>>97628630Noted, will not watch. Ty anon.
I think this scene gets too much hate. It is the least pressing of the movie's lore-damaging issues, and most criticisms flunk when you point out how kamikaze was just as impractical or how there were never coherent hyperspace rules to begin with.
This thread has nothing to do with traditional games. Fuck you all, fake ass hoe ass not-nerds.
>>97629434I personally try to enourage people to post minis and play tabletop games. But alas, the /tv/faggotry is too powerful.
>>97620574Yes, there is a gorillion STLs for x-wing minis as well as an active 3d printing scene.Picrel is my paintjob of a Scum N1 with a fanmade dial+cardboard that I got from a local tournament win.
>>97629434Several times over the past couple of years I've tried to get conversations about Shatterpoint going, and posted pictures of my games. Most of the time I'm just ignored. Whilst I sometimes see good chats going (and about Legion as well), it's clear that most people here are just interested in the lore and sporadically play RPGs - or just share campaign/character ideas. I have come to believe that Star Wars can no longer have long-term success in miniatures games. My reasoning is that, firstly, Star Wars is not as prominent in the cultural zeitgeist due to Disney's handling of the franchise. Secondly, regarding miniature games specifically, Star Wars has had a torrid past and proven not to have staying power. West End, WotC, X-Wing and Armada (the latter two being very popular) have all been discontinued. Meanwhile, you have games like Warhammer, BattleTech and Infinity running for decades. I think the longevity and reach of a miniatures game has much more influence over its success than many other entertainment medias, such as pen-and-paper RPGs or video games. My evidence to this is solely based on conversations with friends, most of whom have decided to pick up games that already have a community, and have been warded off games where our local club does not have any players. Especially now, why would you buy into a licence whose games have barely lasted a decade? When miniatures take time and effort to get into, it's logical that would be a barrier.I also think that paying for the licence makes margins even more razor-thin and might impede creative expression or changing certain rules (also see the Palpatine scandal in Legion). But this is a smaller problem compared to player enthusiasm in the franchise and confidence in the product.
>>97629706>(also see the Palpatine scandal in Legion).Said "scandal" being them ceasing production of a unit no one bought?
>>97629838More removing the rules for him and the Royal Guard. Even 40k still occasionally updates rules with sunset models, or allows them to be used instead of their new version.
>>97629287Yes.
>>97629384The implication that it is possible creates a question as to why haven't had hyperspace missiles manned by droid brains for centuries. Even the "1 in a million" handwave in the following movie doesn't negate the sheer value a hyperspace torpedo offers. It isn't bad because it retcons anything, it's bad because it creates a hole in the setting itself.
>listen to Rise of Darth Vader Audiobook to finish off Dark Lord Trilogy>Three Random Jedi battle it out on a random world surrounded by clones>on the day of Order 66>one of them gets into a brief Spit-spat with a Commando Captain before heading to a largely abandoned hospital>while dueling with some mercs, the Jedi's Commander gets THE Order from the Captain>the Commander is strangely confused, thinking this to be a Separatist plot and tells the jedi about it>they flee, spend hours in hiding, witnessing both the Obi-wans distress message and the deactivating of the droids...>before eventually getting caught by thousands of clones, thinking they will be imprisonedWhat a start.
>>97628534Mercenaries are usually portrayed as solitary and analogous to bounty hunters, sadly. The Empire of all things had a handful, Sabaoth Squadron during the clone wars, the Mistral Shadow Guard, uh, the Thyrsus Sun Guard? But that's it. Merc operations tend to be criminal swarms operated by local hutts or (((toydarian))) groups with no loyalty, or pre-Naboo, trade federation style groups as corporate subsidiaries that hired out. Even Mandalorians only came in small bunches.Purely to spitball, I'd peg mercenaries as a mostly outer rim thing. Where the Republic is a punchline and more hindrance than help. Your planet is being raided monthly, but you can't actually buy ships because you were designated as a pirate hub two hundred years ago and the republic will send an investigatory commission in six to eight decades? Okay, mercenaries on retainer, a loose group of maybe 350 people with a single low end cruiser, some cloakshapes and midrange blaster rifles. Big Dave's Sith Lords, local mercenary organisation. They'd rise and fall in a constant churn, with named groups being rare and respected as they've lasted that long. Groups that support their world are stupidly expensive for one person, let alone a group of them hired, so that is why they don't get hired by crime lords or individuals. At the risk of JUST LIKE MUH MARVEL, it'd be similar to the way mercenary groups are portrayed in ASOIAF'S Essos. A dangerous business where nobody actually wants to resolve anything, everyone knows each other and the difference between bandit and mercenary depends on the day. We could do worse than raiding Battletech for ideas, too.Professional groups, beyond those named groups, would be so rare. Probably stick to a single sector and have long term procurement contracts and land holds. They're there for money, not glory, not held together by a single personality or opportunity like smaller groups, not bount to a single culture like planetary groups.
It'd make more sense if TPM was set 42 BBY instead of 32 BBY. That would make Anakin and Obi Wan 55 and 67 when they died, which fits pic related a lot more than them being 45 and 57.
>>97630619Sounds dumb tbhon
>>97631029It would also make Luke more understandable as a character, if Anakin was in his late 30's when he fathered him then Luke's autism makes much more sense
>>97631156You could have Luke be 25 (like in the original ANH script) if ROTS was set in 25 BBY. This would also align more with Han not believing in the Jedi if he was 4 when they disappeared, rather than being 10.
>>97631373Does Han Solo actually ever express disbelief in the Force? I've always taken his skepticism as him thinking that the jedi just aren't all they're cracked up to be, and the Force is a bunch of parlor tricks.Just like Motti - he never denies that Vader is a sorcerer, he just smugly points out to everyone that while he may be a sorcerer, the power of the Force has failed to conjure the stolen datatapes, or divine the location of the Rebel base, so maybe Vader should sit down and shut up, when the grown ups are talking. Those are completely reasonable beliefs to hold, when the great jedi order was exterminated by a bunch of ordinary guys with guns after they've tried to play politics and lost. Yes, they've had some mild superpowers, they didn't help them.
>>97631463>Does Han Solo actually ever express disbelief in the Force?Hokey fuckery, if I recall correctly
>>97631029>It'd make more sense if TPM was set 42 BBY62BBY, 30 years Clone Wars, then 32 years rule of the Empire.
Do you think we'll get Old Republic armies to tie in with the KOTOR sequel or am I completely delusionnal?
>>97632178It's not impossible, but I wouldn't exactly call it likely.
>>97630863You'd peg mercenaries? Lewd.
>>97631156good thing you can just ignore the prequels as they came after the OT>>97630619people screech at me when I say rise of darth vader is shit but they may only be remembering the vader parts which are less than half of the book
>>97631463>"You don't believe in the Force, do you?"said by the kid who learned about the force yesterday.>Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. Does Legion have a future? I can't decide whether I want to try it or not. Got burned on Armada. although I don't regret it, the minis are nice.
>>97632876Yeah, AMG has just said that they want to focus on it and that the new edition has been a success. I think I recall their studio head mentioning that they have at least a 10 year plan to develop the game last year. Which faction are you thinking? I can give you tips for getting into the game.
>>97632876Yeah, it's something they're going to keep supporting for at least a few more years.
>>97632855its a scene that establishes the difference between their respective characters, Luke's optimism and faith vs Han's cynicism, a conflict that continues through the film until Han comes around and saves Luke letting Luke save the day. Pretty good, basic, stuff.
>>97632855You've left out where he says that no energy fields controls his destiny. It's possible to believe in superpowers and not believe in the ridiculous jedi religion at the same time.

>>97624640Andor is INSANELY overratedThe story is boring as fuck, the characters are dull, the artstyle is bleak and completely destroys the classic SW look (it fucking ruined Coruscant), it lacks any fun adventures, it adds forced shock content like muh rape which contributes zero to the story beyond "oh the Empire is heckin' evilerino", etcBeing a Half Life fan, I can pretty easily tie Andor cocksuckers to a similar equivalent: HL2 beta cocksuckers, retards who think that just because the game was muh dark and griddy and had child slavery it was better even though it was objectively a shit experience. Andor fans are the exact same, they don't even like the Star Wars OT and PT, they like generic cyberpunk slop with forced callbacks.
Showerthought for the day: If Courtship of Princess Leia was released today it would split the SW community in two: > muh hekkin witcherinos yaas slay GRRL!and> misandrist woke bullshit by low-T beta faggotsWith both camps missing the point of the story entirely and no possibility of seeing any nuance or comprehending the underlying themes and tropes.
>>97633623Anon are you seriously trying to defend Ack-olyte by comparing it to Courtship
>>97633626I'm not defending Acolyte as I haven't even watched it, so I shan't have an opinion on it until i do watch it. I'm just pointing out the rift and unwillingness to see grey areas instead of black and white that exists in not just the star wars fandom but most of popular media at the moment. People tend to get hung up on details or one specific concept and miss the broader picture entirely when it comes to new series and movies.

the nightsisters couldnt be made today
>>97634286Why do people keep saying shit like "You couldn't make this today" when you clearly fucking could. I know that everyone with a slight understanding of politics immediately assumes that they are the oppressed ones who there's an evil boogie-man looking to take away everything that you like.Nobody cares if you want to make a story involving a cult of evil lesbian necromancer's who oppress a tribe of buff barbarians that they take, mate with and then sacrifice on a pagan altar. And if someone complains, tell them to get fucked.
>>97634286>Says that while the Acolyte existsI understand the sentiment, but "couldn't" is not it.

>>97634286I would like to make more Nighsisters.
>>97632993Appreciate it.I like both the republic and the separatists. The rebels and the empire not as much.Previous experience with mini gaming is a bit of Armada, Warhammer (FB-TOW, HH).
>>97635204>republic and separatistsBoth of them have a great starter. I would generally suggest starting with the starter set and aiming to buy a second one eventually. They are basically free money, as you get all the dice, components, 4 units, a commander for the price of 2 units. And there is no redundancy beyond the commanders here. Here is a more faction based buying guide:>separatistsSuper tactical droid commandersSuper tactical command droidsDSD spider droid (ideally 2) Aqua droids (ideally 2)Geonosian warriors (just 1 is fine)Beyond that, buy what looks cool. Aside from Cad Bane, there are no bad units in the separatists.>republicHeroes of the republic is a pretty good buy.Clone trooper marksmen 2xThe Bad batchClone commandos 2xAT-RT 2xBeyond that, you can season to taste. >>97635406Thanks anon, one lgs close by is holding an swl event in a few weeks, 600pts. Maybe I'll even manage to get everything done by then. How is the game itself? I've read some opinions that it's on a competitive side, kinda like 40k which I came to hate since I came back to it during 9th ed. Soulless tourneyturd of a game.
>Force & DestinyI'm thinking of focusing on mundane skills instead of force powers, at least at first. Can this be viable thwhile or would it basically be just trolling?
>>97635432>How is the game itself? As a former 40k player myself, the game is VERY dynamic. It is constant planning, acting, reacting, rolling with very little downtime. If you have any opinion about stratagems, you basically get to play 1 at the start of each round with command cards. It has fully standarised keywords, so there are very few gotchas once you get into the game.>competitive sideIt kinda depends. Yes, there is a pretty sweaty tournament scene. But there are also more casual modes like Tours of Duty, Special Operations. Ask around your LGS. In my experience, the best place to regularly play more casual games is leagues, people tend to test fun lists in these.
If they really do plan to keep Legion for another decade, they need to add the First Order.
>>97635709They'll add them in due time, I just don't care.
>>97634961>you know the EXACT types that'd make daily videos on how it's "woke" or whateverYou know, i'm reminded of that cowboy film that The Daily Wire made staring Carano, the one that was specifically designed to "Stick it to the Wokey's!" and all of the other networks that didn't realize TDW made it immediately started screaming about how "CARANO HAS JOINED THE WOKE MINDVIRUS! ONCE AGAIN, THE WOKE INFECTS EVERYTHING!!!"At this point, they don't even know what they're complaining about...
>>97634286You are right. No one in the current year would make a tribe of scantily clad sensual pale goth chicks. Star Wars under Disney has become completely bland, sterile and asexual. Enjoy a bunch of diverse lesbian uggos like in Acolyte, or creepy hags like in Ahsoka.

Are there any versions of saberforge left anywhere on the internet?
>>97615500>TQ:Honestly I run my own LGS, in my area, Shatterpoint always sells out anytime they release an update. While Legion was DOA that we only managed to get rid of the stuff we bought from the first wave of about a year ago when we discounted it down to practically nothing. And even then, we still had to give away some as stocking-stuffer for a Shatterpoint tournament we ran.It blows my mind that Shatterpoint is the one getting sidelined. At the same time, i suppose Shatterpoint has the weakness that it's a Living game. You'll never really buy multiple copies of the same expansion. That being said, my area isn't terribly wealthy, so i suppose Shatterpoint being relatively cheaper is much better. for my clientel.
>>97642121FWIW, around here it's pretty much the opposite. People looked at Shatterpoint, said 'cool large minis', bought a few for display and that was that.
>>97634961>you know the EXACT types that'd make daily videos on how it's "woke" or whateverUhuh, yeah sure, yuperino, absotivelyposolutely. The REAL problem here are the heckin' antiwokes, right my fellow Star Wars appreciators? The reason nobody would care if you made that version of the Nightsisters today is because that's the cucked out faggoty TCW retcon of the Nightsisters which was already reworked specifically to avoid the ire of the people who wouldn't let you make the REAL Nightsisters - ie sexy Amazonian snu-snu tribes - today.
>>97642121From what I can tell it depends entirely what a store/area's customer base was previously. If they were actual wargamers, Legion tended to do well if either did and Shitterpoint was an afterthought. If the community were degenerate stinking CCG butterballs, Shitterpoint was beloved while Legion struggled.
Less /tv/More minis and games, please
>>97643187oh pretty
>>97643064All shatterpoint players here I meet came from previous war games, not CCGs, but cool trying to validate one group of star wars toys while shitting on the other
>>97643064Look anon, I am a Legionfag myself, but I think your hatred for shatterpoint is overblown. Does it have a shitty business model, questionable rules and a general capeshit vibe? For sure. However, I don't think it's good enough of a reason to shit on it endlessly.
>>97615500the other day i was looking at homeworld stuff again after playing hardspace shipbreakers and i was thinking that the salvage corvette in homeworld was really cool then something inside me broke and an idea formed does it fit the design of the YT 1300 for a custom top of the line one to have a close range grip module that when attaching to a larger ship it releases a close range ion blast that paralyses the ship and punches through sheilds you would have to be almost in melee or ramming distance to use it which makes it probably require a really good pilot to use it effectively as it's risky as fuck and has a good chance of breaking the ship if not timed and pulled off correctly? compared with the falcon ship might also have it's thrusters semi constantly stall instead of it's hyperdrive as it has an experimental high power engine to power it's weird weapon might have better handling than your average YT 1300 but have worse stalls
>>97643541You're definitely on crack, but I think we can work with it. As far as I know there isn't a way to get higher silhouette weapons on smaller craft. So I turned to the nubian collective's design manual, which attempts to unscrew the engineering rules for building ships. It isn't *great* but it's definitely *okay* and it has this. Make it a project to install it on a YT-1300 and then install a heavy tractor beam which have tractor 6, range medium - nothing is getting out of that. Light ion cannons kind of suck, but they're still close range, damage 5. The T9 Stinger Assault Boarding Tube requires 3 hard points, so you're not going to be good for much else. If you swapped out one of the turrets for the tractor beam you'd have room for an engine ring stabiliser or an ion turbine for handling/speed. 3 for the tube, 2 for the weapons mount, 1 for the tractor beam - or a mod. But if you take a mod, you only have one ion cannon and those are awful. This ship would scream straight at someone, engage tractor beams and start spamming ion blasts while the boarding tube starts drilling in. It's not going to really grab frigates but it'll ruin someone's day. Great pirate ship, actually.
>>97643364>>97643412Not a Legionfag, actually a WEGchad, I just says it as I sees it.
We got some new info on Thrawn and Mace
>>97646195Oops
>>97643064I dunno. Most of our Shatterpoint players are also part of the larger community that play skirmish games such as Bloodbowl, Warhammer, Warmahordes, Malifaux, Infinity, Frostgrave, Bolt-Action, Team Yankee and X-Wing. I suppose it's because it's something a bit different. Legion just seems a little too "It's yet another large scale war game, but with Star Wars" Whereas there's no real Killteam scene around here, so Shatterpoint is filling that "Small scale, each body counts" kind of war game to compliment X-Wing and MalifauxI think it's mostly just the price point.
>>97646195>>97646204>110pts for ThrawnMakes sense. One Step Ahead is amazing while the rest of his kit is close to Kalani+Kraken on the far side. His free once per game standby card is also really good, and he generates a ton of aims while still being mobile.Getting a training slot for Seize the Opportunity is another point in his favor over Krennic and Veers.>WinduI didn't expect him to get spoiled so early, but I guess the Jedi council will release in June-July?He looks pretty damn good, though compel is not that great on clones. It's hard to judge him without knowing what Vapaad does.
Bit /tv/, but I've been on a star wars kick and wanted to know: Is it just me, or have they started throwing 'family' into everything, including stuff where it's inappropriate or irrelevant?
>>97647290So many shows have. It's a trope. It'll age out, get stale, and stop.
>>97647290I didn't really notice, where did they do it?
>>97629384This scene ruined the entire presumed paradigm of warfare the setting had been previously based around and singlehandedly invalidates the existence of any superweapon or capital ship if hyperspace torpedos could just be pumped out en masse. The entire struggle of the rebellion in the OT is undermined in this single scene and the Imperial Tarkin Doctrine is retconned into being utterly nonsensical.
>>97649209You're right, but he was just trolling.
>>97646685Yeah, Thrawn is basically the ultimate support commander. He basically does everything. And you can still get compel i to your list by taking DT-F16. Windu seems a lot like Dooku, except with Charge always on.
There any good modules for a group just starting out in eote?
Any good sourcebooks for the late republic era? Not necessarily FFG, but definitely pre-imperial, pre-clone wars. 40-33bby. Rise of the Separatists/Collapse of the Republic doesn't really have much nitty gritty on it.>>97650816Oof. Jewel of Yavin is unironically fantastic but it's a little more difficult than most - you might want to give it a read and see if it's suitable. It introduces your players to some stuff they'll be familiar with without being too on the nose about it.Suns of Fortune is also alright, but expect to be fleshing out a lot of it yourself. It's only got Modular Encounters and you could turn most of them into a bit of an adventure.

I can probably just convert the SIFRPG holding system without too many serious issues but I'd rather not do the work if I can avoid it.Second, more lore-ish than anything: Are all synth crystals mute entities that exist purely for lightsabers? Even legends crystals would sometimes nudge someone's awareness, let alone the deliberate oddities of the new ones. But I'm unsure if there's ever been anything suggesting a synth crystal, one made by a sith or a jedi, that's ever made any indication it has any sort of presence of consciousness. His 1-pip looks cool on paper but imo any time sensitive unit wants to go last or first anyway, but it'll force some hard choices. His 3-pip is great. Aims for shooting units before they activate? That's what you want to do 9 times out of 10 anyway.>TarkinMight be a touch overpriced. His suppression play is a cool way to reinforce Empire's faction identity. Pull the Strings is cool but unless you're using it on Vader or a kitted out ATST you'll be better off taking another 95pts activation instead.>TaggeHe'll be a headache to play since you'll need to plan all your token use 1-2 turns ahead of time and activate him first most of the time. I'm not sure the surges are worth it. Sure his 3-pip sounds incredible against Remnant, Shadow Collective, GAR and some CIS lists, but you'll only be able to use these tokens starting next turn.>Generic Command Card and Death Trooper upgradeI like the command card, but I wish it was usable by any Empire Commander. It would fit Moff Gideon and Vader well lorewise and would be nice in Stormtrooper Battalion. If Windu"s subtitle is any indication, I expect the Jedi Council to also get a generic command card like that. The Death Trooper upgrade is cool, especially with someone like Vader or Iden to stay with them when they get close to range 2. The Guardian part probably won't be that useful but Retinue for 5pts is a better deal than Offensive Push or Strike Team Leader.Overall that's a cool box, though Thrawn is the clear winner.

His command card is very good, especially since most 2-pip are usually kind of ass, 2 speed-1 moves and 8 observe tokens is really good. I'm not sure it will make Tauntaun spam viable as it's meant to though.>Han on Tauntaun>Unstoppablelol. lmao even. Another episode of Upgrade Cassian, X-34 Landspeeder with Unstable Astro or Sleeper Cell: Here for a good time, not a long time.I'm some people will cook up some really degenerate stuff with Chewie and 2 Medic buses.I like that it helps establish Rebels as the glass cannon faction, but it seems overkill.>Shared command cardIt looks cool, in that it shows another cool aspect of Rebels' faction identity: the gotta-go-fast faction. It can also lead to some interestion combinations with all these Luke and Han variants.3 different Luke and 3 different Han feels a bit obnoxious imo.>>97666468I love these 3D-printed minis helmet. >>97662989>>97669685I have great news for you, Anon
>>97668368One of my biggest pet hates about Shitsney Wars is the way they're rushing the Republic/Empire transition so fast. Republic gear in Imperial colours, gradually declining into surplus that gets sold off to local defence forces or dumped on some backwater Army unit. Clones and humans both serving for a while in all-white Phase 2 gear(with the non-clones bitching that it doesn't fit anyone else) before all being switched en masse to Stormtrooper armour(with the clones bitching about it being inferior quality). They have 20 years between the Clone Wars and the GCW going hot, but they seem determined to jump from Prequel to OT aesthetics within mere months with no consideration of the practicalities(and the potential for storytelling those practicalities entail).I suppose that's what happens when you go from having your setting made by people who liked pulp serials and war movies to people who did gender studies at uni and thinks war movies are icky toxic masculinity or whatever.
>>97670694The reason is really simple: they want to cash in on the more profitable parts of the IP (the OT). Stormtroopers and Vader sells more than clone troopers and Vader.
>>97670694I agree with you anon. However, I have heard a reasonable defense of this from others ITT, who believe the rapid transition makes sense since the Empire wants nothing to do with the Republic, and thus would try to scrub anything that might remind people of it as fast as they can.>but that's wasteful and stupidly expensive!Yeah, and when has that ever stopped a totalitarian dictatorship before?
>>97671210Nevermind wasteful and expensive, it shouldn't really be possible. Remember the Empire isn't just replacing the Republic's military 1:1, they're also *massively* increasing the size of their military at the same time. They also don't have anywhere close to the same dominance of galactic industry that they would have later on in the Dark Times after they start appointing regime representatives to corporate boards and outright nationalising anyone who gets uppity. I actually *like* the "we must shed ourselves of the image of the weak and ineffectual republic blah blah" angle, but to try and push it on the timetable Disney are is simply fantasy, and not the good kind with laser swords and princesses, the merely delusional kind. 2 or 3 years, sure, but mere *months* like The Omeeeeeega Show and other retcons are trying to claim? Nah. And even if they're fully dumping the most obvious symbols of the old regime like the main ships and the clone armour, they're not just going to chuck perfectly functional ground speeders or trucks on the scrapheap when they could weld a couple of angular plates on them, paint them grey, and the average civvy would have no clue they were "degenerate republic garbage". I suppose what makes me annoyed is that it's yet another example of the Empire being dumb for the sake of being dumb. Whether the people writing them just don't have the knowledge and interest to understand what they're writing actually entails or if it's another example of Disney depicting the Empire as retarded because if they were even vaguely competent people might think they were cool and that's nonobadwrongungood, I hate it because I'm actually a huge Rebfag and if the Empire aren't cool or badass then guess what, neither are the guys who beat them.
To anyone who's tried out the FFG line of games, how is crafting in them? Are crafter characters viable?
>>97672494tl;dr Yes, kind of, but it's not going to give you ULTIMATE COSMIC POWER or anything and you'll still need to know how to use a blaster.less tl;drSpaceship crafting is garbage. The fan stuff is better but still not fabulous - go find the nubian shipbuilder's manual or whatever it is. There's something strange about droid crafting but I don't recall what it is.Gear wise is actually pretty solid. You will lose a fair bit of game time unless your GM lets you build during downtime, but the system is designed to be done during play. The tl;dr is you pick a template, roll and choose some changes to the item or template from a table depending on what symbols you got from the roll. Some of them diminish crafting time, some add extra hard points, etc. If you're the 'crafter', you're going to spend most of your time customising other players stuff, or the ship. Mods are done in such a way as that it has a 'base' mod, then you roll a slightly more difficult check to use 'optional' mods - say, a mod might have +1 damage once installed, and then you can go up to +2, +3, +4, +5 with ascending difficulty each time - but if you fail the roll, you can't try and do the roll again without buying another mod.
>>97670694100% agree. The inter-war period between the PT and OT seem so interesting. Would have loved to see Clone War equipment transitioning into Inperial. I'm talking about Imperial LAAT and Imperial Snowspeeders. The ARC-170 and V-wings in Imperial colors looked so cool>>97671031>cash inRetarded thinking cause they could have cashed in cool toys like this. Imperial LAAT
>>97672172It should be a slower rollout but it isn't just what's shown in the Bad Batch. The Imperialization is already happening during the Clone Wars--because the Republic was an empire before it was the Empire.
>>97672943>RetardedYeah, Disney's. They only push OT rehearsals. And those Snowspeeders look sexy in Imperial grey.
Just for the sake of argument, do you personally think "Jedi Battlemaster" is a unique title belonging to one person in the Order, or do you think there can there be multiple Jedi Battlemasters in the Jedi Order at one time? According to the wook, it's a one person deal, like Grandmaster.
>>97672943>I'm talking about Imperial LAAT and Imperial Snowspeeders. The ARC-170 and V-wings in Imperial colors looked so coolThese realistically would still exist by the OT. The "mass recall" plot point is idiotic and originates because people for some reason are retarded enough to believe that since we don't see AT-TEs on Hoth that means they don't exist during the OT or something
>>97674826In SWOTR it's mentioned to be a title granted to a specific individual (the player character Jedi knight gets granted the title after the story Shadow of Revan expansion). One of the Jedi who gets killed by Palpatine in RotS is also described as the battlemaster of the order, which implies that was a specific title at that point as well.
>>97675142>One of the Jedi who gets killed by Palpatine in RotS You're thinking of Cin Drallig, who was killed by Anakin.
>>97673775Yeah but I'm not talking about cultural stuff which is what we see in later TCW. According to Shitsney the Clones are literally all out on the dole within a year or so, all the Clone Wars era military stuff from Jedi Cruisers all the way down to speeders and fliers and fighters are on "scrap planets" being recycled, and the OT Empire from TIEs to Stormtroopers to ISDs are just right there within months. The OT implied it had taken the Empire until the very opening act of ANH to finally, fully, completely consolidate their control of the galaxy with the abolition of the last vestiges of the old senate. The EU - written by people who were fans of the same source material George drew from when making the OT - painted the Dark Times as a long transition, with the Empire accruing control and expanding its power gradually over years, fomenting ever more wars and crises to justify extending and expanding emergency powers etc, carefully manipulating the corporations to gather more and more industrial power under the direct authority of the regime, and depicted a military that didn't just throw away useful materiel because the whole point of Palpatine's coalition was that it included basically all the ruthless pragmatists of the old Republic military. Then when the Empire was defeated the EU correctly depicted what was reasonable and likely; balkanisation, warlordism, a New Republic using whatever resources they could lay their hands on even if that just meant slapping a big Rebel Phoenix on the side of an SSD.Shitsney just do everything by fiat. Empire takes over? Total and instant victory, chuck all the Republic stuff in the bin. Rebels win? Complete annihilation of the baddies, smash up all the ISDs to make Starhawks 'cos we control all the money now. They're using the same fantasy logic that works in the narrative in the worldbuilding, where it's just dumb, then say "meh who cares just don't think about it too hard, buy this Baby Yoda FUNKO!".
>>97675209Because that way they can separate eras into merch. Even though an Imperial LAAT would absolutely sell but it's a bigger risk than just having more TIEs and Stormies the second the Empire comesIrony being the new TK troopers and Bad Batch stealth clones look fucking horrid and the designers should be ashamed
>>97672943>>97675366Can you stop posting this ugly dogshit ship that looks like it was AI-generated, thanks. It's ugly and retarded just like you.
>>97675439>Assumes only one person likes EC Henry's ships>Bitches about posting cool ships in a Star Wars threadKill yourself nigger, go back to your Slave IIs and Resistance Bombers
>>97675444No one knows or cares about some braindead e-celeb and their garbage OC ship, you dumb faggot. Stop posting ugly garbage every single thread. Are you trying to beat the Pellaeonfag in his relentless faggotry? Saying nigger also won't make you fit in, you pathetic tourist. I can clearly tell you are upset that this ugly garbage designed was called out for what it is - garbage.
>>97675209You're just as insufferable and bankrupt as Disney because all you are is just a reaction to them. I have no idea what you like and what you enjoy.
>>97675444And yeah, you are the same person. What a pathetic denial attempt.>>97672943>>97675366You have to be retarded to not see that these posts were written by the same mongoloid. >>97667611>bruuuh hyperdrives literally grow on trees it makes sense to constantly waste them and escalate every single conflict please don't ask why nuclear drones are never used IRL
>>97665218>Strap hyperdrive to asteroids>Plenty of time to chart a course to target planet>Hundreds of asteroids slamming into planet at supra-relativistic speedsThat being said, in one of my Edge of the Empire games my party came up with something just as insidious but didn't break continuity or in-universe rules:>Player lead syndicate>Blackmail planets into protection racket>If they fail to pay, park a shitload of asteroids outside of their gravity well>Suddenly coming out of hyperspace near the planet is prohibitively dangerousRock blockade was pretty wild, honestly. Expensive as hell, though and didn't really pay for itself, but I appreciated the ingenuity.
>>97675928>every X-Wing is equiped with an hyperdrive but trust me they are expensive and rareMagnificient way to humiliate yourself online retard
>>97675439Sure ;)
>>97675439>>97675471>getting this mad at someone posting OC fan artWhy?
>>97675459Triggered Fractalfag detected. Sorry chum your autistic turretdaddy will never be popular.
>>97675928What are you on about you demented fuckwit, hyperdrives are utterly commonplace, they're on every rusty old space Jalopy in the galaxy. Even buttfuck-nowhere hicks can afford a hyperdrive equipped vessel. Fucksake there are ships with functional hyperdrives literally *lying around like garbage* in scrapyards.I genuinely cannot fathom how someone can be as stupid as you are and yet still manage to remember to breathe in and out.
>>97677264NTA, but that very fact means that they literally CAN NOT be used as weapons. If that was possible, the galaxy would be full of asteroid belts insttead of habitable planets after 25k years of hyperspace warfare.
>>97677264>>97679886Didn't hyperdrives have built-in failsafes that explicitly stopped hyperspeed ramming shenanigans back in Legends?
>>97679886Except that episode 8 showed it could be weaponized, even using a ship not designed to be a projectile.
>>97680450Yes. In fact, hyperdrives just plop the shit they'RE driving out of hyperspace when tehy approach a gravity well.>>97680496Which is why that movie is fucking retarded, and the people who made it should be thrown into a volcano tto appease tthe gods.
>>97680644I don't think ships dropping out of hyperspace near a gravity well is a safety mechanism, as much as an inherent property of how hyperdrives work. The presence of large enough gravity wells interferes with hyperdrives working, which is why in the films you always see ships flying off into space before activating their hyperdrives. Also, when ships activate their hyperdrives they don't really accelerate much, but shift to a different plane of existence (hyperspace) where speed and distances work differently. Technically from the point of reference of the crew the ship is not moving faster than light, but traveling through hyperspace lets you cover a distance much after than even light can in normal space. Fun fact: a lot of the details on how hyperdrives work were created by Timothy Zahn for the Thrawn trilogy, since the films never went into details. Aside from matching what we see and hear in the films (ships must go at least some distance away from the planet before entering hyperspace, travel in hyperspace isn't instantaneous, and going too close to a star or planet while in hyperspace is bad news), he wanted to write the mechanics specifically to avoid the question of "why build the Death Star if you could ram planets at hyper-speed?"
I thought the hyperspace ram was solved by Rogue 1. Where a ship jumps to hyperspace and smacks right into a Star Destroyer. But instead of slamming into it at relativistic speed, just crumples and the ISD keeps going.
>>97681488Had to look up what you were talking about—the ship seems to not have started the hyperspace at all.
>>97681532 (me)I mean, it started (look at the engine lighting) but it was at subluminal speeds still.
>>97681532Looks like it automatically stopped going into hyperspace thanks to the ship being blocked.
>>97677240Why is Fractalsponge unable to design vehicles that look like Star Wars?>>97677264This is just fucking false. If hyperdrives were cheap and commonplace Luke would have long been outside Tatooine before ANH, the TPM crew wouldn't have struggled so much to acquire a single hyperdrive and Han would have been able to replace the one in the Falcon without going to his good pal at Cloud City. Literally nowhere in the films is it implied hyperdrives are a common-ass technology, the opposite is implied where most of the galactic populace barely goes out of their planet if ever>>976804961. TLJ is retarded and Ruin Johnson can suck my anus2. It was explained that it was a "one in a million move" in TRoS so it's more Holdo being a fucking pussy coward who tried running away and got seriously lucky than a real attempt at anything.
>>97681880>This is just fucking false.Just admit you don't know much about the Star Wars lore and stop being a retard, an AT-ST cost more than a good hyperdrive-equiped ship.
>>97682926Idgaf what the D6 writers came up with, it goes against the fucking movies and it's a game which is meant to let people go on adventuresNot everything in D6 should be taken literally retard
