Inaugural speech transcript, Metropolitan Museum of Art (1/3)MC AURELIA ‘ASSOLUTA’: “Ladies and gentlemen, from Clan Ventrue, attorney, jurist, politician, the former Chancellor of New York, and a Founding! Father! Of the United! States! Of America! Please welcome your new Prince of New York City! John! Ten Eyck! Lansing! Jr.!”PRINCE LANSING: “Good evening! Thank you, thank you. We have a lot to talk about, haven’t we?First: why do I look so pale? Exactly.Second: why did I disappear on 12/12/1829? The historians say I drowned. What, you don’t trust the opinion of the experts? Come on, this is not a laughing matter, folks, it’s my first day on the job and I’m 200 years late-”SENESCHAL MORENA: “Point of order, Prince Lansing, you’re only 196 years late.”PRINCE LANSING: “You heard the lady, only 196! Meaning I’m not getting fired! Whew! This woman’s job is to save my life every night.Third: where the hell have I been? Well the truth of the matter is, learning to run a city is a lot like sorcery, even if you’re genetic freak you have to go to school. So I did. Many schools, years, teachers, countries. My views changed a lot, like those I had on the marriage I’ll officiate later, a happy marriage, a gay one even. Here are some views that didn’t change: I don’t like dictatorships, democracy, our federal Constitution, paying taxes.Fourth: why did I come back? All these years I helped the city from behind the scenes, like I never really left it. One night in a dirty bar in Asia I met a young man, not a local, he asked me: ‘What’s an old kindred doing here?’ So I said: ‘A journey of self-discovery.’ He added: ‘Involving a bad woman.’ I said: ‘It’s the journey that counts. When the shit hits the fan, here’s how you can find me.’ I’d like to be the kind of Prince you can look in the eye like and not immediately think of mind control, like that man. Then the shit hit the fan. Here we are.Fifth: what happens next? I’ll tell you what happens now: we’re all screwed!”
>>97621961(2/3)SENESCHAL MORENA: “Excuse me?”PRINCE LANSING: “Yeah yeah, let me finish. Look around you. What a fine gathering of ladies and gentlemen from the Old and the New World, right? This isn’t the greatest game of kingmaker of the new millennium, it’s called PROMOVEATUR UT AMOVEATUR. All of you were too young to be allowed in the control room where the real decisions are made, and at the same time, too old and cumbersome to be ignored. Your sires, superiors, Elders’ Elders sent you here to rid themselves of you, your influence, your growing independence, and the threat of Diablerie. And our mission is to clean up a monumental mess we did not make, and that the people in charge don’t want to deal with directly. This city hasn’t even recovered yet from 9/11, the pandemic and now a goddamned dragon and Caine knows what’s in store for us next. Did any of you ask yourselves why did nobody older than the previous administration wanted to bother with running this place? We’ve been betrayed, backstabbed and quite possibly, bamboozled. You’re welcome.Sixth: why did I bother showing up if I think we’re screwed? Because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Newest Carthage’s delusional cult and ensuing war ended up thinning the thinblood and Anarch populations. The Archbishop fucked off. Yes, we’re still screwed, but look at the carnage around you. How many of our enemies ancient and new were screwed even worse than us? A wise man once said: ‘Buy when there’s blood on the streets. Even if it’s on your own.’ I say: ‘We buy.’ It’s now, or never. Let’s rebuild this city into our impregnable fortress and finish the job, starting with some executions. Who’s first?”SCOURGE HYUN-AH ‘BLUE FAIRY’: “Quit struggling.”[REDACTED]: “MY FUCKING LEG!”PRINCE LANSING: “Good evening. What’s your name, son?”[REDACTED]: “AARGH!”PRINCE LANSING: “Mr. Aargh, did you develop a way to simplify the creation of abominations with your expertise in Thinblood Alchemy? ANSWER.”
>>97621965(3/3)[REDACTED]: “Yes! Please have- GYAAAA!”SCOURGE HYUN-AH ‘BLUE FAIRY’: “His name is [REDACTED].”PRINCE LANSING: “Mr. Aargh, does anyone else besides you know how to do it? ANSWER.”[REDACTED]: “NOOOOOO!”PRINCE LANSING: “Sweet! My good Miss Scourge, please take out this trash, then the rest of the trash over there, and clean yourself up for your wedding ceremony. I’m kind of in a hurry, I’m 196 years late after all.”SCOURGE HYUN-AH ‘BLUE FAIRY’: “At once, Prince Lansing.”[REDACTED]: “AAAAAAAA!”PRINCE LANSING: “And where’s your bride? Ah, there she is. Come here. Good evening, welcome!”PRISCILLA ‘PRINCESS CHARMING’: “Good evening. It’s an honor, Prince Lansing.”SCOURGE HYUN-AH ‘BLUE FAIRY’: “Thank you again, Prince Lansing.”PRINCE LANSING: “Priscilla of Clan Ventrue, Hyun-ah of Clan Toreador, you stand here today to give yourselves to each other in Blood Marriage. If anyone knows of any legal reason why these two may not be married tonight, please speak now. Thank you. Priscilla, do you take this kindred to be your lawfully wedded wife?"PRISCILLA ‘PRINCESS CHARMING’: “I do.”PRINCE LANSING: “Hyun-ah, do you take this kindred to be your lawfully wedded wife?"SCOURGE HYUN-AH ‘BLUE FAIRY’: “I do.”PRISCILLA ‘PRINCESS CHARMING’: “I give you this ring and this ARTERIA RADIALIS as tokens of our love and devotion.”SCOURGE HYUN-AH ‘BLUE FAIRY’: “I give you this ring and this ARTERIA RADIALIS as tokens of our love and devotion.”PRINCE LANSING: “By the authority of the Traditions of the Camarilla, I pronounce you women and wives! Priscilla, you may kiss Hyun-ah, but in moderation. In moderation I said. SIGN HERE AND HERE. Thank you. Finally, stand with me now. It is my distinct honor to present to you for the first time: Mrs. Feroldi Antonisi de Rosa and Mrs. Jang as wife and wife! Can we have some song and dance in here?”MC AURELIA ‘ASSOLUTA’: https://youtu.be/DOW6n1q2t2APRINCE LANSING: “What a beautiful night! It’s good to be back!”
I was in Venice when I first learned that a Cainite Diablerized an abomination and died. I scoured the Schrecknet archives for any message on the subject, then sought the man himself: Boy Toy, as he was known on the network.Venus in Furs, his Sire and mistress, lived with her Childer under the same roof, like a family, one from the Clan of the Rose, not my own, the Clan of Death. She was in the USA and I received a warm welcome with many gifts. Boy Toy’s room was full of items she thought useful to my research: guns, photos, a fur coat he gifted his Cainite girlfriend, his preserved tears, the keys to a heavily upgraded Subaru. I carefully examined those, and my attractive host. This family wrote him letters: the older sister’s traumatized him to the core, I can’t post it here. Boy Toy died to protect the second sister, she wrote nothing, Venus just said the girl is married and employed. His girlfriend and youngest sister wrote: “Do you think something I ain’t ever gonna see or touch is a bf?”I let Venus talk to him, it degenerated: “You loved my whips, furs, heels! Did you ever love me as a woman in all these bloody years?” He said he was Blood Bound. She hissed: “I disown you, Sirio. You are dead to me.”Like other wraiths, he discovered of how quickly the living move on. Venus’ philosopher-operator, wracked by guilt and self-loathing long before his Embrace, said he made many terrible mistakes.I gave him a new Fetter, slapped him, and said: “Your first rule as my slave: no one, not even yourself, can torment you - except for me.” He accepted his fate: better than dying and suffering alone on the Other Side.I showed Venus my Necromantic power that tames even the sun itself. I was human enough to sneeze, transfixing my host. I have to agree with her: furs are a basic necessity of a woman’s life, not luxury items.I listened dispassionately to Boy Toy’s story as I drove his car towards a harmless sunrise. When was the last time a death made me so curious?
As I sit on the “throne” of this Empire of Dirt, an eager and a little too pale blood doll kneels before me and brushes his face on the golden tiger fur covering my legs, hoping I’m feeling hungry. I stroke his hair and dismiss him, I’m not in the mood, I need some time, time to think back about everything that happened this winter.Uncle The Devil Wears Me, stylist. He finally avenged the wife he lost in a concentration camp, then left me to start a business, he believes I don’t know he thinks of remarrying.Assoluta, opera singer, my ambassadress to Clan Ventrue. My first and last masterpiece, she became a permanent fixture of the rotating Elysia of New York City, the designated Mistress of Ceremonies.Blue Fairy, just-married French-Korean martial artist. Now she is the Scourge of New York, and in this very instant, I think she’s doing things to thinbloods that make the trigger-happy cops and robbers in this country look like the Dalai Lama by comparison.Boy Toy, my poor son and philosopher-operator. My slave, taken away from me, avenged, then taken away once more.Mercury Lamp, doll who makes dolls. Is she tired of playing with dolls? Is that even possible? She just said goodbye, her miniscule hand held by my adopted Ventrue, Princess Charming, as they left for “college.” Scarlet, my youngest, is also continuing her education elsewhere.I am now the last vampire left in this mansion, alone with my old flame Revelation turned into a statue, and my furs, whips, my servants, my misery.Could I ever find true love, let alone have a relationship with an equal? Nay! Utter bollocks! That necromancer I invited was right: I am THE Venus in Furs! I have no equal! I’m in control! But where is my happy ending, I wonder?However... I do, in fact, have one companion left! An equal, even! I walk into my room and she’s there, ever faithful, waiting for me! All I have to do is smile, and the gorgeous lady in the mirror smiles back. Spring is coming. Love is in the air.

>>97621945I think Scarlet will stay at Kakophoni's place then, it's much safer over there. The new administration wants to hoard all the glory methinks, but I will do all I can to make sure you, the real heroes, don't remain "unsung" and unrewarded - unless you deliberately choose to be.Either way, in Bridgeport or New York or elsewhere, I pray everybody does a good job, because I sure as hell don't think I was a good mother, mistress, sire, kindred.I hope all of you enjoyed my tomfoolery.
>>97622026I personally enjoyed it. While it veered a bit too much into ceaseless BDSM fucking, the contrast with all the other mini-chronicles usually focusing wholly for murder, Kindred warfare, strange encounters of paranormal kind, ominous prophecies, threats, extinction and whatever else was pleasant, and it does fit Toreadors as a clan. And, above all else, it did help keep the threads alive, and that's good no matter what.
>>97622113Yes we all have our ideas of what the World of Darkness looks like, or should look like, and I just thought there was an element of sensuality and hedonism (and coomerism...) that was more prevalent in the manuals than in these threads.I don't know if anybody wants to use this sort of thing in a chronicle, but I kind of used the "world of SM" as a large, hidden, private social network. For example when Lansing told this story:>One night in a dirty bar in Asia I met a young man, not a local, he asked me: ‘What’s an old kindred doing here?’ So I said: ‘A journey of self-discovery.’ He added: ‘Involving a bad woman.’ I said: ‘It’s the journey that counts.[...]the old man meant Boy Toy and Spider Lily. If anyone cares Spider Lily taught bondage to Venus in Furs, the Japanese tea ceremony to Mercury Lamp and jujutsu to Blue Fairy.Since a few characters in the previous threads brought Epstein's nonsense up - in which an utterly mediocre man like Epstein, with really bad boomer takes, gets to shake hands with the big leagues: royalty, unimaginably richer people like Bill Gates, politicians from the left and the right - imagine that sort of thing being like a social network organized the way the Sabbat does things, and this world of SM I'm rambling about being a Camarilla-like counterpart, wherein a mediocre kindred like Venus in Furs could win far more influential friends.
>>97621954>SCHRECK.NETLiteral theater kids.
>>97622376
Let me get this straight: the Sabbat's plan to free themselves of blood bonds is drinking the Kool-Aid, literally, living under vinculi that can last a century? Don't blood bonds last for months?
The new prince hates taxes? That's my kind of leader.
>>97623240I got excited too, but PAYING taxes is what he said he doesn't like, tho
>>97621954>/tq/Important? Probably that ruin in Michigan, simply by virtue of involvement. Apparently it's now a hazard with all the asbestos the fires kicked up.Feels like it ain't the right question though. 90% of my time spent out in the sticks and 7% spent in small towns makes it the exception, not the rule. >>97623275The Prince doesn't like violence? Well great guess we can all expect to get our hands dirty. The Prince doesn't like risks? Wonderful, us riff-raff are getting escorted to the town borders. The only time I've ever had a prince be honest was when he said he hated Gangrels to my face. Oh, that was rare and refreshing.
>tq Was my hometown but being run out by a matauding bunch of nicktuku kind of ruined that. I do wonder how the land sale is going to go though. Might have to find some rando who looks vaguely related to ghoul temporarily and then drain him just to get financial control again. Least I still have the etsy store for miscarriage/period amulets. Free vitae via magic. It’s honestly amazing what the settites have figured out. So did some research on this seal skin thing. It’s called a selkie. If I take its skin, they have to stay on land. Might hide out and talk to one that way. What mysteries lie beneath the depths.
>>97623385Sejlkis? Colour me curious with your investigations.Words of advice though. Across all the stories of seal maidens, on both sides of the Atlantic, they're usually very magnanimous. And colonies of them hold the sort of grudges that make elders blush. For some reason of all the 'animal wife' folklore it isn't slight bears or wolves or foxes that go full scorched earth wiping out entire islands. No, it is the humble grey seal.
>>97621954>THREAD QUESTIONThat is a tough question but I would say Alexandria is the most important city to me. After I was (thankfully) separated from my sire, I received most of my training from The Court of Miracles there. After Alexandria would be Luxor, where I was first taught sorcery, and then I suppose Cairo. St. Augustine and Jacksonville are slowly growing on me.>>97623385>So did some research on this seal skin thing. It’s called a selkie. If I take its skin, they have to stay on land. Might hide out and talk to one that way. What mysteries lie beneath the depths. You always attract the strangest things!
>>97621940my thanks charmer. the Queen has allowed me to move into her dominion for the time being, until further notice so hopefully more light will be shed on all those, even if I'd prefer it to be more secular matter of shyness. as an aside is it common among your number to have a... no, suffer rather a... serpentine jawline? the last few times I've noticed it growing on her, so much so she needs an interpreter.>>97621954halifax. I was sent to the city from my native vermont and ended up being turned there. usually avoided cities since.
>>97623460Very early test sketch, he's figuring out the composition, style, how to draw all these vamps and so on. Feel free to ask for edits, it's a sketch for a reason, very adjustible at this stage. He's going for a shaded black-and-white style, no color, this time.
>>97624123From left to right if I can guess: Ignis, Halfseeing Eye, Lavender, H0TS, Meo-Meo. With the Nosforatu in the background?
>>97624225Yep. One Nossie is being as difficult as she normally is, looking off into the distance oh-so-ominously, while the other one's waving politely. There's lots of little things to adjust, Ignis is looking very rough for a woman who's as stiff as a board, H0T looks maybe a bit too old, etc, but I'm glad they're reading clear enough as-is.
>>97624123>>97624413Genuinely radical brother. Only thing I'd critique is H0T's missing arm is the same side as her eye so the sleeve should be rolled up. Other than that it looks great.
>>97623986>as an aside is it common among your number to have a... no, suffer rather a... serpentine jawline? the last few times I've noticed it growing on her, so much so she needs an interpreter.Sometimes members of my clan do develop serpentine features, but the few I have known always developed them following their Embrace or very shortly afterwards. I've never heard of such features developing later in a manner reminiscent of a progressive disease, so such a thing would make The Queen a very unusual case.Or rather, it would make The Queen an unusual case if she is of Set's lineage. It is possible that The Queen is in fact a Gangrel who was initiated into The Followers of Set later in her unlife, and the serpentine jawline is a manifestation of the curse which afflicts the chosen of Tefnut.>>97624123Lavender [singing]:Me and my boys are gonna mess you up.HSE: I rolled a one.H0T: I rolled a one.Lavender: Fuck!
Figure I'd lost the updated version of one of the sketches while I'm at it.
>>97625388 my boys are otherwise engaged so I’m gonna bring it all myself!>>97623891Now now, don’t speak so poorly about yourself my sweet. >>97623460Noted. Don’t just steal it lest I face the wrath of blubber. I’ve seen the face of terror. And it is 600 kilos of pure wrath. Pic related. His name is neil. Vid related. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/OE_cPVOe2uY
>>97621954>The most important city in your unlifeWhat can I say, it's in the name.
>>97625388I'd doubt she's a Gang. It's rare you get twists like that which are so specific and without other consequences. There's a reason why most of my folk with souvenirs either have a few small ones or undergo the full cryptid treatment. >>97626439Aw, how precious. A lot larger than the ring seals I saw when I was at the Winipekw up north. But I have to admit that when I was a lot younger I got startled and knocked on my ass by a Ringed seal. 100 pounds of muscle and fat darting for the water isn't anything to turn your nose up at.Hm. Should return to the great bay some day. >>97626500Colma the town? Is it true they basically have a necropolis down there overrun by shadow men?
>>97621954I need the news, kindred. Tell me what you're up to.
>>97628137Showing my newest ghostly servant the ropes. He's still quite shocked and frightened, but makes up for it by being polite, obedient, a fast learner, and easy to motivate and correct. His WRX can do everything except being quiet or fuel efficient, making it a superb vehicle. He wanted to say hello to "the good folks of Schrecknet" and apologize again for the mess he made. Cute.
>TQVenice, then Luanda where I met the Ghiberti.>>97623182Religious fanaticism.>>97623460>>97626439Seals may have, indirectly, inspired Gojira, the King of the Monsters himself. This is a Hōnengyo (豊年魚), a yōkai that is sometimes depicted with the face of a seal.>>97624123>>97625839Very good
>>97623357>The Prince doesn't like violence? Well great guess we can all expect to get our hands dirty. The Prince doesn't like risks? Wonderful, us riff-raff are getting escorted to the town borders. As an Independent, I find relatable. But how are you still a riff-raff when you are clearly no ordinary Gangrel, mediating between supernatural enemies and having developed the patience to listen to a Malkavian? What else do you have to accomplish before the city Cainites believe you are no longer a riff-raff?Sorry for the triple post but "Our system thinks your post is spam"
>>97628137Not enjoying the quiet of ignorance? I can share.>The Sword of Damocles hangs over us>Embers and ash are drifting Westward over the mire>The pines are speaking Finnish(?)>Someone somewhere realizes the archbishop isn't near as powerful as he claims >No passwords for you today :)>It is a bad day to live in Reno >The pavement is hungry for flesh and blood and sacrifice
>>97624433Fixed! If there's nothing else to adjust for Meo and H0T, he'll do a few edits I got in mind for the rest of the pic and get to lining it. Editing it then will still be fine, just a bit more time consuming, so best get the changes in early.>>97625388>>97626439shortly after this he gets electrocuted, burned, bitten, and a werewolf loots that body LOOTS THAT BODY >>97625839Peak!
>>97628137Trying to get some sleep.>>97628526>What else do you have to accomplish before the city Cainites believe you are no longer a riff-raff?First, I'm still... Well me. A fool who lived in Loup Country long enough it rubbed off on me. Second, I will always be riff-raff, or worse. A wild animal that will always be a risk.>>97628633Stop stealing that.>>97628761Radical. Half Seeing Eye has big gnome energy and the contrast between Igni and LL is amazing. And it's great to see Mèo and H0T dressed up.
Any general tips for talking to an elder? I was summoned but I don't know the reason.
>>97631333dont panic, dont do anything stupid, and keep your ears open for what the old fart aint sayingand if youre already disposable thats a (you) problem
>>97631333It would be optimal if you were to discover that reason before the conversation takes place.Do not antagonize the underlings, secretaries, et cetera of your superior under any circumstances: they will turn the Elder against you, and the Elder trusts them more than you.Always wait for your turn to speak. There are two types of servant. After doing something bad, a smart servant will try to downplay what happened, come up with excuses, shift the blame onto somebody else, and so on. A loyal servant will reach out to the master first and say: "This is what happened. I did something terrible. I deserve punishment." Elders tend to prioritize loyalty over nonsense when choosing and rewarding their servants.Your options are limited, making your path closer to a straight road, the easiest and shortest path there can be.
>>97631333Don't flinch. Even when (not if) they start making it weird.
>>97628137Well, New York became a free-for-all all and was terrorized by a "dragon" for a time. The whole situation has been resolved and a new Prince and new regime is in power. What's that saying again? Out with the old, in with the new?Monsieur LavenderLevinbolt fought a duel to the death and managed to strike an accord with the local Lupines, as well as a powerful spirit of some kind, thanks to the aid of Mademoiselle H0T. Everyone seems satisfied with the arrangement thus far.Oh! My secondary haven has been completed. Much more secluded than my primary haven, with a touch of home added. It's almost a shame to not to reside there permanently.>>97631333In addition to the excellent advice provided in >>97631555, >>97631615, and >>97632376 I'll add that when you are called upon to speak, stick to the facts of the situation. Avoid any form of speculation, unless invited to do so by your elder.
Is there a way to cure the affliction?A few days ago I got mauled by some- Person(?) In my apartment and when I woke up I managed to overpower and kill him. However I think he cursed me with whatever it is you people have and I'll be honest I have college classes to attend and I cannot be asked to deal with this. I had to dig through my attacker's things after he turned to dust in my living room and all I've got to go on is some credentials to get here.I haven't discounted I've completely lost my mind.
>>97635731Sunbathing.
>>97635731There is no cure for either the hunger you feel or your madness, the only escape is Final Death.
>>97635731lets make the assumption you aint trolling, right?this is something you are now stuck with. no way youre getting out of it and anyone who tells you to go kill the president or has a magic potion to sell you is full of it. you got blood sucking autism for all you can change it. it sucks. youll get used to it or youll die. now make sure you dont share it, make sure you keep yourself fed, and dont do anything stupid.
>>97635731Killing him may have been a huge mistake, we have rules around when and when not to kill kindred. Plus he would have been the one to show you the ropes on your new unlife, now you're kind of screwed.
>>97635731Yea... No there's no cure worth your time. There's no conventional or supernatural cure for what you have now. But that's not the end of the world kid, plenty of people have suffered it, and plenty more will. What's important is that you still exist and you now have a lot of your needs condensed down into; >(1) Blood is now water, ambrosia, and meth to you, so long as you have it you'll just keep going.>(2) The sun is anathema to you and your second lease on life is over the moment you see it. >(3) The night is nowhere near as empty as it was before, it is filled with a lot of unfriendly things, although, it doesn't have to be.If you have more questions ask them. Ignorance will get you killed.>>97636912This reads like a panic embrace. IE; Their sire fucked up a feeding, went too far, and tried to ghoul them, only embracing them instead.
>>97635731Many of our kind promise treatments, only a fraction ever achieved the results that were promised, and only after a long and arduous journey. I myself can become "more human" for a day, quenching my thirst and quelling the Beast - there is a Beast inside of you too by the way - and that is the best I could manage after over four centuries and mastering the Necromantic arts. Your priority should be adapting to your new nature, for changing it into something else is going to be difficult to the extreme, and besides, how can you change what you don't know?
>>97635766Fuck you.>>97635917Also fuck you.>>97636206Oh yea because I was going to go screaming to the heavens about this shit. What am I supposed to eat? I can't keep food down or even water?>>97636912Are you serious? That creep shows up in my house, mauls me, knocks me out, tries to kill me AGAIN when I get back up and I'm supposed to show restraint!? Self defence mother fucker are you kidding me?! >>97636996So like whatthefuckdoyoufuckAlright. Fine. No really this is just fuckHow do I get blood and not like- make people into vampires? Is this like AIDS or some shit or how does that work. Also what the fuck do you mean 'the night isn't empty?' Has there been an outbreak of vampires or something and the world even more fucked up than I was told?>>97638629Okay. I am done having an episode and I'll ask you to clarify/ What do you mean "our kind."
>>97639661We are vampires, and so are you. Try biting a human's external jugular vein or radial artery. For all vampires and most of their prey, it's a pleasant experience (I'm an exception~ my prey suffer pure agony~). Blood is your new power source, forget food and water. As long as humans aren't the ones ingesting your blood, they will remain humans - or corpses if you drink too much.
Forgot to put my name on. I'll try to give you a quick run-down while answering your questions.>>97639661>What am I supposed to eat? I can't keep food down or even water?Blood, seriously just blood, you can learn to eat and taste food again one day, but it won't fuel you, only blood will. Animal blood works, but isn't as efficient.>>97639661>Are you serious? That creep shows up in my house, mauls me, knocks me out, tries to kill me AGAIN when I get back up and I'm supposed to show restraint!? Self defence mother fucker are you kidding me?!I didn't know he tried to kill you when you woke up. Definitely sounds like a feeding gone wrong then. You still might be in a world of shit with the local kindred though, I don't make the rules or enforce them. The local vampires might want to find and kill you so I'd skip town or go into hiding. When that dude's friends come looking for him you won't want to be there. Stay out of sunlight, garlic won't do shit to you, a stake to the heart will paralyze you but won't kill you. A point-blank shotgun to the face or a .50BMG might kill you, but you can shrug off .38 and 9mm like they're paintballs.>How do I get blood and not like- make people into vampires? Is this like AIDS or some shit or how does that work.To make a kindred (what vampires call vampires) you have to drain them dry and then give them your blood. If you give someone some of your blood without feeding on them you temporarily make what's called a "ghoul", a semi-mind-controlled servant with limited vampire powers, they get addicted to it too and the withdrawal is hell, so be careful.>Also what the fuck do you mean 'the night isn't empty?'Werewolves, ghosts, wizards, faeries and mummies are all real and usually don't get along with kindred.
>>97640223>>97640232I'd avoid giving out any more information if I were you folks. This smells of a trap.A freshly created fledgling is able of overcome the blood bond and their sire, who happened to conveniently carry a device and credentials to access ShreckNet.This fledgling is able to deduce that they are a vampire in one post, and even express fear of spreading vampirism like it's some kind of disease, then in the very next post they ask what is ment by "our kind" and acts ignorant as to what they are. This is obviously a trap to lure in unwary, sympathetic Kindred. Don't fall for it.
>>97639661You don't need food and you don't need water. I wasn't kidding when I said it is Everything to you. Some old farts have lived off dregs for ages. >Are you serious? They are. Unfortunately you are now in a society that at its most charitable has its own social contract. At worse it's a mob or a cult.>How do I get blood and not like- make people into vampires? Others have described ways, but so long as you aren't picky you can get old bio-material. >Next question. You'll figure it out. Just be cautious, hold your cards close to your chest, and recognize you can't trust what you 'knew' before. Words won't do it justice.>"our kind."Everyone who shares your 'affliction.' V word has all kind of superstitions. And baggage, both inside and out, as I know how disorientating getting dragged in gets. But here's an important question for you. Did your attacker have any visible physical deformities? Possess any abilities you could pin-point in their attack? Critically, when you killed them did you bite them? Still can't believe the Nos didn't reinstate PDF support, we could just send him an electric pamphlet so it sounds less... Delusional to a normal person. But living in the age of shit-ass hunters executing network attacks has its downsides.>>97640295Maybe. Maybe not. It is worth interrogating, but there are vectors of 'safe' information, and I've had it described to me what getting embraced in the past decade is like.Alas, the poor wretched zoomers.
>>97640295>is able to deduce that they are a vampire in one post, and even express fear of spreading vampirism like it's some kind of diseaseI was very purposefully led into the Embrace, and mostly knew what it'd be, but, come on, man. You tell me that after all the shitty Camarilla-approved vampire media out there, you'd not be able to figure out why you're cold, dead, even, don't have any normal living bodily functions, can't eat or drink anything normal, crave blood on an instinctive level? You'd have to be in some absurd quantities of denial to not get it. The spread-of-vampirism thing fits a Fledgling who knows fuck-all except generic shitty media laced with disinfo, too. There's a million shitty novels, games, movies and so on where vampirism is a disease you can spread with a bite, instead of the convoluted process it actually requires. And, honestly, hunters know the basics already, smart ones, at least. And not smart ones won't be able to get much more out of us than they would out of torturing some dipshit Thinblood.>>97634187>as well as a powerful spirit of some kindThis one is a work in progress, technically. >>97640348Art's complete! Here's your two girls. I'll get on writing the update in a day or two, might put up the whole thing before that, if anybody wants to see it early.
>>97640525"What kind of dumb person would actually fall for a Malkavian Siren? Oh. Oh no." Save it for the update I can wait for high-grade quality.

>>97640525>you'd not be able to figure out why you're cold, dead, even, don't have any normal living bodily functions, can't eat or drink anything normal, crave blood on an instinctive level? You'd have to be in some absurd quantities of denial to not get it.That's exactly what I'm talking about, Lav. Just look at our little "Fledgling's" post and tell me if it doesn't smell like a fish market to you.>I think he cursed me with whatever it is you people haveBefore this "Fledgling's" post, nobody in this thread has mentioned their dietary requirements or sleeping habits, yet somehow this believes he might have "whatever we have." The only thing that stands out is Lily talking about being a necromancer, but you don't exactly get "cursed" with being a necromancer, now do you?>Fuck you.Okay, so he knows sunlight = bad. So I guess he's managed to reason out that he's a vampire, but not the kind that will sparkle in the sunlight like some of the shitty Camarilla-approved media you mentioned.>What am I supposed to eat? I can't keep food down or even water? So he's figured out he's a vampire, but he somehow doesn't know that vampires drink blood. Even the afore mentioned shitty sun-sparkling vampires can't eat normal food!>How do I get blood and not like- make people into vampires? Is this like AIDS or some shit or how does that work.Hey, a reasonable question. But again, he's already put together that he is a vampire, and because he thinks he has "whatever we have" we must be vampires too.>What do you mean "our kind."So despite his initial post already concluding that he has "whatever we have", and already making the connection that he - and by extension the rest of us - are vampires, he still needs clarification on what "our kind" are.I'm telling you, this smells of someone trying to dig up more info and lay a trap. Could be a hunter, could be some eccentric rich guy hoping for immortality or something. Could be anything. But my gut says: don't trust it.

A useful thing for avoiding notice, and if you can get into contact with the Nosforatu you'll likely be in a position to learn from them, supposing you're willing to do some dirty work for them. Some are known to protect the dregs of society in exchange for their support, operating in the open where they cannot. Beyond that it's hard to say, you'll need to test yourself with what lies within your hungry soul. >>97653064Infernalists are difficult to gauge. Sick stuff and that's the closest I've confirmed in my research. You will know it if they come for you. Also maybe figure out your own fears.

[Montane Layover 8 - So all day long the noise of battle roll'd]>We begun on a full moon, as is the right thing to do in grand rites.>You can conceptualize the moon as the eye of something vast and great and terrible, and to be in its vision is how you reach out and grasp beyond.>The caern grounds always are a pain to get to. The weather wasn't too nightmarish, for once, but we still mostly wore jackets - had to at least look like campers, if, by some horrid miracle, Kine or hunter drones were in the area. Not likely, of course, but carefulness saves you.>Our march started at the manor, with us moving as a group - while a single-fine line might've been safer or some shit, we didn't trust the darkness to not try and pick off people, not on a night like this. There was this strange taste of ozone in the air, a faintest sense of something grand looming over us, and we all knew exactly what it was. The issue was, our Kine, ghouls and even my cat felt it - they were on-edge, jittery. >Which meant that everything else was going to feel it, too. Everything - every strange little thing, every peculiarity, every unnatural horror hiding in the dark, every apparition, every presence, all the things that we were neighbors to.>Still, nothing to do but march. >We had to trek through places with little snow, and with plentiful; in woods fresh and living, and in areas burnt and razed by the Animkiig's rampage, last autumn. Down the winding path to the Caern, and along a frozen lake, where I could've sworn there was something vast moving beneath the ice, making it quake and crack.>As we entered a burnt patch, Ghostbuster (hate this name) questioned the logic of it - why'd a nature spirit burn a forest. >Igni explained that renewal is as natural as things get, and a forest fire is nothing but a cleansing of the old, for the sake of the new.>HSE said it sounds an awful lot like the massacre, then, was a cleansing.>Igni hit her.>HSE hit her back, much less successfully.
>>97658751>In plenty places the snow was deep, deeper than it had any right to be. It was as if a month's worth fell out suddenly, turning our well-walked paths into a sort-of trench in pristine, white blanketing. A scar.>The symbolism really wasn't lost on us. Neither was the fact that the trees were all in the wrong places, and the ground, it felt like, rumbled, shifted and groaned, beneath us. In far distance, we could hear monumental masses of rock screech and yawn. The sky was remarkably clear, for winter, with just a bit of clouding - and the Moon and the rare streaks of Aurora light shined bright, so bright that we barely needed light. >To see, anyways. To ward off things that dwell in the woods, and come out at night, we needed plenty of fire.>Little shadows, skittering between trees. Forests of jagged, red, blood-wet hats, with hateful, crimson eyes glinting in the dark, beneath them. Trees-that-move and trees-that-aren't, creaking and getting so bold as to move in full view. Clouds that hide ever-flying beasts and snow angels, and strange, distant figures of well-dressed men in suits, watching us walk and walk and walk, standing so openly as to make us question how they got here. Snow hissed and turned to steam, as it hit them.>And the wolves. They weren't even trying to be subtle.>At least some, clearly, were the procession of our ostensible allies; Bee and the grandma and all the rest, trailing along and keeping an eye on us. But there were others. A lot of others, or maybe a small group that moved so much, and played so many tricks, they wanted to make it seem like there were dozens, at least, of them.>The worst was, no doubt, the noise.>Whistling, distant and eerie, singing that nearly dragged me off the route and into the depths of the woods, strange tapping of metal against metal, cracking of real trees and the fake ones, the constant chittering and whispering of those little shadows - and then here was the howling.
>>97658779>First it seemed as if a call to arms. I anticipated an ambush from the Garou, and proceeded to light my sword on fire. I was also ready to do the same to the woods around us, as to immolate all that hid in them.>But then the wolves started to sing.>It was a somber, grim song. Harrowing, if you care for what the Garou feel and think, and empathize with their pain, which I do not. The wolves - ones that could speak, at least - sung in different languages. Some local, some not. Some familiar, some not. >At a point, as we drew closer to the Caern, passing some small lakes, the Aurora briefly intensified, and the voices were joined by an ever-growing, ethereal chorus.>Languages extinct. Languages irreversibly changed. Languages obscure, so obscure that if they existed once, nobody knew that, nowadays. Languages that were not speech, but something else, worming its way into my head to convey meaning. I had fire engulf my head. The singing ceased worming its way in, and some of the wolves kept their distance better. The little tomtenissar drew back, too, kissing and screeching and clawing. My flames knew them. They did not know my flames, because to know a thing is to eat a thing. >My passenger whispered me things through the fire, all relating to what I should also come to know.>The Caern looked worse for wear, on account of us having little time as of late to keep it in good condition. I wanted to melt the snow, but the Cat told me that the burns on the undersnow grass would be bad. I did not agree. I thought they would be very good, actually. Then things spoke through the Cat, and my fire spoke too, and I agreed.>We got to work.>With ten full pairs of hands, of which only one was HSE and therefore useless for hand labor, and only one was the Cat and therefore too important to bestow hand labor upon, and one H0T, who only has one hand, we cleared out the snow quick. Then came the ritual preparations.
>>97658814>They were not that annoying a part of the process, all things considered! Though we did have to donate our blood.>I really did not want to, but we had little options but to listen to Mèo-Mèo, in the moment.>We did as told once the sky was clear, using the little time left to say our goodbyes, take pictures, just, admit things to ourselves and each other. Not much, but as much as was possible. Proclaim ourselves the Anchorite clique, even.>Silly name. We do have lakes, one even with a boat, but I am not sure it has much of an anchor, just a car engine.>The recipe for the ritual circle's were, in various parts:>Wood ash;>Snow; >Vitae;>Stone circle moss;>Werewolf blood - for which Bee volunteered, to the sound of heckling from guest werewolves;>And and a shred of our Disciplines.>Vivienne, our tinkerer and shaper, brought her hands into the soil, and rose a cauldron of stone out of it, with streaks of gold and silver all over.>Lavender stuck his hand into the mixture we put in the cauldron, and zapped it, because he is unoriginal.>I gave life to the moss, and structured it, following the whim of my own passenger. For once it was unhappy with my choice of subject.>Eldest Sister brushed her hands on the pot. Didn't do much, at a glance.>Igni hit it with fire until it boiled, and we all felt the fire roil in us.>Ghostbuster, hate that name, had added to the criss-cross pattern, drawing some sort of comet-symbols going from left to right in an arch, thicker on the right, thinner on the left. He said remnant whispers in the air told him to.>HSE tore up one of her cards - the Emperor, I think - and dropped the pieces in. >With the mixture we drew a seven-sided star on the ground, within the stone circle, all as Bee attended the stones of the circle. Mèo dipped her face into the mixture. The forest things observed us, not daring come out of the woods, or get too close to Garou.>And, once we all were where we had to be, the air tore.
>>97658866>The tearing started at the Moon; first, it started as the Aurora, that dimmed near the caern itself, returning suddenly with this screeching noise, overlaid with grinding of rock and cracking of trees. >The glow widened and widened and grew, coiling around the moon, and then the air did tear.>It was like fabric, coming apart to show what's beneath, and beneath I saw that which the cards insisted I will, in-person, one day, and it was just as beautiful and horrid and foul as I imagined, far surpassing what Lavender's shitty camera got to capture.>Umbra.>The air came apart in slivers and tongues, with the world tattering around us. Victoria flipped out. Mèo spasmed, collapsing into the center of the circle, coiling herself into a feral position. H0T seemed to want to step in, only to get, along with Victoria, blasted with something that made both reel back, flee from the Caern limits. William just barely managed to cling to the edge.>And the audience, God, they loved it. They howled and shrieked and chittered, all sorts of uninvited guests scattered throughout the Rockies, roaring out into the night as their Divine descended.>The World-Beyond... It just was. I could make a thousand poor-taste comparisons, say it was pretti purpul, say there were trees in there that each simply FELT like the most correct form of a tree, and animals and art pieces that exemplified their very concepts, but none of this will do it justice. My visions never did - and my visions are better than reality!>The air didn't break for the Aniimkiig's arrival, though - it was to give yet more of an audience the chance to see, shapes of fur and torn bodies and scorched flesh shambling to the edges, coalescing to gaze down upon us. I remembered gutting a few, running through them with a knife.>Aniimkiig came from below, swallowing Mèo whole, his heads seven and his heads a million and his eyes a billion and his claws as many as there are grains of sand.
>>97658892>From this point on the youngsters didn't seem like themselves, and my two remaining companions were deeply affected by that which dwells in us all - and that which seemed to be 'flipping out', to borrow our Seer's lexicon.>Though, frankly, I was only slightly better off. To be in presence of Umbral things manifesting into reality never is easy on the mind; not the first time, not the second, not the last. And the longer you dwell on it, the more details do you remember - or maybe he more details etch themselves into existence.>I had a duty to maintain, obligation to my assistant who was with me through thick and thin, so I steeled myself and tore her further away, retreating to a hill overlooking the Caern. I dragged miss H0T as well, even if it was frankly very hard, the girl is sturdy, and I say this as a fairly old man. From there we could see that there was some sort of a commotion at the manor, albeit it was so far, details were beyond me.>Our Werewolf escorts were also, to say the least, having a moment. Most prayed, some quarreled, one was being choked out by a trio while trying to stab a silver blade into something, seemingly mainly myself.>The Aniimkiig in the quasi-flesh was excessive, to say the least. It was there, yet it was not; I can scarcely imagine how it looked to each of the youngsters, but to us it were seven overlapping things. A bird; a spider; a cat toying with its prey; a mother, of no species and no belonging but love; a blazing fire; a sense of respect for that which came before, the archetypal sense of dread before an elder; the joy of shaping the world.>It spoke in triptychs.>Champion, failure, parasite.>Justice, failure, torment.>Equals, failure, servants.>Submission, rightful order, trinkets.>Rejection, apostasy, extinction.>All very clear statements, but I am sure each of the seven, in their delirium, as they knelt there, heard and felt more.>Oh, and then I got my hand bitten off.
>>97658906>I came to my senses to the sound of William jabbing out the eyes of a crocodile man with the remnants of his radius bone.>I was really out of sorts, but I still could remember that looking at the Spirit was agonizing, so instead I chose to focus on practical matters. I did get a glimpse of the Trems, though; Lavender's lightning-scars were on blue fire, the rest of them had skin sloughing off in chaotic little line-patches, eyes bleeding, mouths moving without speaking. I'd guess they did speak, just, not audibly.>With William distracting the crocodile, I grabbed my rifle with shaky hands, took aim, and then noticed that the mountain in the back was moving. Its 'steps' were enough to make snow fall from the trees near the Caern and as it got closer, I saw distant sparks. >Rocks, grinding against each other with such intense effort that the lights were visible from far, far away.>The reptile-man didn't seem to care, but a few of the local wolves did; they, with the mountain approaching slowly, lunged out of the woods, praying as they ran, and tore into the crocodile. A third rushed out as well, falling on her, I think, knees, and praying in the general direction of the mountain. That seemed to work. It turned.>And then it started to march onto the manor.>Cleansing, justice, order.>Eye lost, eye taken, fairness.>A forest burned, a forest planted, growth.>Those seemed to snap a fair number of the visiting, living Garou out of their trance. Some moved to follow after the mountain, but relented when Lavender hit the mountain with lightning.>A bad idea, but inevitable, because all he ever does is hurt himself. An arm of his was reduced to bone and sinew, with more thunder-scars running up his exposed chest. He pointed at the looming Aniimkiig with his barely-arm, and so obviously started putting on a persona, it hurt to watch.>"Justice had been had! We demand justice for our own!"
>>97653986Dude. Tight. My sire was a big fan of him, which is unusual for an old clanner. I have some letters from between the two from their heydays. My sire’s voice grows fainter in my head. I’ll miss him one day.The selkie appontment/rendezvous went interesting. More details to follow. Bit hazy on some bits though.
>>97658953>Arrogance. Impudence. Worm-rot.>That part truly upset the guest Garou. The Lavender-pact ones were on the defensive, sure, but they were a very small minority only barely acting on some sort of authority. Doomed to lose any argument.>Submission. Rightful order. Trinkets.>Ignis got up from her knees, breathed in, and on an exhale, she went aflame.>"I will return shortly, once interlopers heading to our manor are dealt with. You will wait," she told the Aniimkiig, and stepped out of the circle, starting to walk to the manor. Suicidal stuff, as always with her - she was strong, but even one werewolf was a very challenging opponent for her. >One of the burlier guest Garou stepped out of the woods, and headed right for her. HalfSeeingEye, closest to him, got up on unsteady legs, and pointed.>"James Earl Dalton. Forty-nine. You're a... You're a Silver Fang, but also a redneck, and your clanmates bully you for it. How sad. You officially live in Weatherford, Texas, on 158, Oriole Street, but actually, you're a divorced sack of shit living in motels. You," she kept talking, just barely making it out of the circle, "Have a smartphone, and you can't stop staring into it at work. You got kids. You already know who you'll sell them off to. And I," she growled, "Know what you'll do next. I know exactly what each and every one here will do. Come on. Try try. First one gets their sept's history of treason outed!"> The threat worked well enough, with most Garou - older ones, especially - seeming to take it seriously. The girl talks a lot; for once ithat worked in her favor.>And in Lavender's - he took this moment to march into the depths of the Aniimkiig, and begun dragging Mèo-Mèo out.>"Take your Cat. We're going home," he shouted to H0T. With his siblings waking, one - naturally the Eldest Sister - rushed to H0T's side to try and help her out of stupor. The others, too, abandoned their ritual spots, mostly to help their quite weakened brother.
>>97659054>The Aniimkiig roared, just about every tree-top in a mile-wide radius arcing with spiritual, not-there lightning, it all concentrating on its single, hateful eye.>And then it broke into a seven-throated cackle.>With its toothed beak, the Aniimkiig grinned down on us.>Dead kin. Dead Kin. Unworthy claimants.>Dead. Replacement. Dead.>Guardians. Protectors. Boon-blessed.>Sacred. Strong. Ever-valiant.>Dead. For. Dead.>The tear in the air receded with a collective, beyond-veil howl, bit by bit. The Aniimkiig laughed and laughed and laughed, falling apart into individual shades and drifitng up, into the slowly-forming clouds.>We really didn't dare to move, at first. Soon the wolves approached, with Bee at the helm. He bowed his head to us, of all people. The Eldest Sister, seeing that Lavender was in the snow, face-first, next to a catatonic, no longer possessed Mèo-Mèo, stepped forward. >She curtsied for that assembly of hobos and squatters and murderers and thieves, who all thought themselves great heroes, and granted them right to conduct their worship and rites. She also explained that the manor will not accept guests tonight, but may, starting with next week.>They didn't really know what to make of this, so we got to leave, at least.>H0T picked up her little pogchamp, and we limped back home, trailed only by our relatively-friendly Garou.>I didn't mention it to the others, but as the shades of the Aniimkiig split apart, I heard this little skittering of legs, the spinning and the clicking.>And I can see clearer. A bit, but it's there. A very blatant, slowly, slowly building difference.>Still will skin myself to remake the missing card from my deck, got a brand to maintain, but.>Man.
>>97659124So.I am currently in a hot bath, soaking as an innovative method of repairing a whole-body tetanus contraction. No effect thus far.I suppose we are alive, no werewolves are launching surprise attacks or jumping out of said bath to tear my head off, and I think... Bee? That one, is rooting around somewhere in one of the unused rooms, with all sorts of old equipment, both to convince other wolves that we don't bite, and because we might as well see if there's anything the wolves may need in there. Rapture, being the least injured one, is playing babysitter to avoid Bee accidentally opening a vial of anthrax or whatever.So.Success?Oh, and here you go, SchreckNet weirdos. Picture taken by Eldest Sister, because I figured we'd not make it anyways, and this I insisted on being taken precisely for memory's sake; might as well make it so we are remembered a bit easier. My clairvoyance suggested not one of us would survive this. Fate's a tease. Finally done. Hope nobody minds the wall of green too much, I wanted to tie off this very long plotline with a sufficiently oversized blob of text.

It dug into my head and soul, a showcase of every single little fear, doubt and regret I ever had, granted to me on loop in a bid to make me waver. A verifiable caleidoscope of my failures as a living man and a dead one, of my families both pre- and post-Embrace, of our long-dusted siblings and friends, even flashbang imagery of the Sire, in case I forgot him. The cherry on top was a memory of my first night, when the initial shock and terror wore off, and I realized the mundane things. Like that I'm stuck with a squeezed waist, unless I seek out some sort of freaks my Sire, at the time, alluded to vaguely. That I've been made into a thing, and that my mind refused to process the wrongness of it all, thanks to invisible ties to my Sire. If an Anchorite is a frog being boiled, the visions altogether were me getting thrown into the boiling water straight-up, no preparation. I think Aniimkiig wanted me to get angry at the very nature of being Kindred, and what it cost me, but, primarily, it made me want to tear that toucan's feathers off, one by one.
>>97661201That's fair. I said it before but we're scions of a very old, very bitter struggle. Some like to think of spirits beyond pettiness or cruelty. That's a falsehood. Vast and monstrous and at the end of several centuries of humiliation it sought to return that onto you, seeming heirs of the Acras and Lìon.And yet here you are. You looked in the eye of a god, cruel, alien and painfully alone, set up to bind it by your own sire. You rode the lightning.

I don't know about you, but I'm starting to see what may be just after-effects of the rite, or the first symptoms of something like your Cat's recent state. Spacing out, little Discipline quirks. Think I saw Lavender stare a bit too intently into the sky, too, looking at absolutely nothing in particular, so, probably something spiritual there. And they're all acting like nothing is up.I don't like it, and much as I am ready to hear people blame it on my Beast, this feels off beyond that.

>>97662140Did you read much into the diaries that I uncovered? Fair not to like it from where you stand. Those books revealed a great deal about what is happening, or perhaps I should say, what is currently reasserting itself. A connection to the forces beyond the veil. I'll be in more depth when I get back in. As well as the quirks that come from the relationship, which is hopefully more symbiotic than what Mèo 'enjoyed.' For reference, the new equilibrium between the Trems is like a flow. The Cat was closer to a tongue-eating-louse self-deluding into that state. Also, need to hand off my contact for the thing I mentioned earlier. Depending on how things go I might need you to wipe some people out.>What is it with you and hyping up hapless, dorky men. Poor Nigerian guy just look right through me as I'm standing still as stone shitting myself.
>>97662222>Did you read much into the diaries that I uncovered?I did, to my own regret. And I guess the lack of some sort of radical change, and a more creeping sort of influence, makes sense, if we discount them all eating shit and nearly getting turned inside-out by possession. But it still reeks. Feels like the other shoe's about to drop, and I'm not imagining upset wolves, or less cordial spirits, or whatever else that's an outside issue cropping up. I'm Lavender getting possessed and wandering off in the night, or their wannabe prophet starting to compulsively cover walls in portents of the future. I guess we'll see. Maybe I'm just too used to things developing poorly, or the place is now just too hallowed for me to like it.>Depending on how things go I might need you to wipe some people out. Finally, some actual work. I don't suppose you changed your mind and want the gargoyle dead, by the way? You can repent for being an unholy abomination, see what that does for you, but your baseline is 'God doesn't like me very much', even if you spend your days running around and praying prousely.Best not make it any worse for yourself by praying to the things most people would describe as 'Satanic', though. Suicidal stuff. Especially if you're fresh and know fuck-all. You don't want to be tied up and used as a vampire-blood tap by occultists, do you?
Does anyone else have any distinctive feeding habits they care to share?Since my Kiss is pure agony to my prey, for the sake of their comfort and their silence I place the stick you see in the attached image in their mouth, tie the strings behind their nape and gently tug on them to extend their necks. I believe the English word for this item is "bit gag", and I make my Herd wear them around their neck at home, ready to be used. When I go hunting, I often rely on that same art of silence all Assamites can use. Sometimes I use my fangs themselves as an instrument of torture on those foolish or unfortunate enough to become my enemies.>>97664037This doesn't surprise me, from what I read of your misadventures you don't strike me as the type that would rely too much on fascinating and seducing mortals. That's where a power like Presence could help you, as it works on an emotional level rather than have you rely on your language(s) to affect the mind of your target, but you still have to invest some of your vitae, that is, your blood, and, for lack of a better word, you also have to put on a show.If you don't have a mentor, you have to become the mentor of yourself and experiment.>>97665232>don't want to be tied up and used as a vampire-blood tap by occultistsThis is quite solid advice, there are lots of trigger happy wannabe witch hunters in Africa, after all. >>97665861>Does anyone else have any distinctive feeding habits they care to share?I tend to only feed once a week, when my students and I gather at the temple. It probably surprises noone that it's a very ritualized afair. Everyone first changes out of their street clothes, cleanses themselves, and then dons proper ceremonial attire. After burning incense of kyphi and offering prayers, we discuss the progress each student is making with the liberation of their soul. I select one student to feed from directly as a reward for good progress, allowing them to savor the ecstacy of the experience, while the others fill a bowl with their blood. I will pour some of the blood along with a portion of beer into a brazier as an offering to the Master of Duat and consume the remainder. After feeding, I'll ask my students what difficulties they are facing in their spiritual development, that I may offer my counsel and the wisdom of Set to help them overcome whatever hurdle they face. We conclude the ceremony with a final prayer of thanks to Set for all he has given then my students change back into their street clothes and return to their normal lives. Tommy and I then ensure that the temple is properly cleaned so that it my be ready for the next week's ceremony. If necessary, I'll then give Tommy some of my own blood as a reward for his service and encouragement to further his own progress. If I must feed outside of this weekly gathering, I'm not especially picky in my methods or choice of vessel - save that they are not diseased of course. Male or female does not matter, and I will use force or seduction as necessary.
>>97666393>Wentiko claws, especially old Wentiko hit different.>It's something about their connection to the world. Something one of us could achieve, in theory.Fascinating. I admit, just as with the fae, my knowledge about Lupines is strictly secondhand as I've never directly encountered one myself. I can recognize some of their strange hieroglyphs thanks to my studies at the founding temples in Egypt, and I have been told about some of their abilities by a few acquaintances who have encountered them and lived to tell of it - one of whom even lost a limb to a Lupine themselves. I had never heard mentioning of the ability to cause permanent maiming to our kind. Makes me all the more glad that I've never come face to face with one in all my years

But the regeneration is so slowed it might as well be in the decades and centuries some wounds can take to heal. But you'd never know it with how few people actually survive that far north where the most insular Wentiko walk. >>97675511>. "If you do not like your superior, it is perfectly acceptable for you to destroy him and take his place."It is and it isn't. Much of Sabbat conflict resolution is based sround Monomacy and usually, whoever's the best at fighting is the one to rise to the top, by design. But there's still some strict requirements. Mainly that you generally need to be a True Sabbat, fully initiated and having proven your dedication to the cause of slaying the Antediluvians, otherwise we'd just be taken over by cammies posing as new joiners. So I couldn't have done it say, summer 1977, because I was little more than a shovelhead, but theoretically I could today. Except; there's still a process. I need to have a dispute with the Bishop and it needs to be judged as a worthy one by a ranking pack Priest. Who also decides if he's going to be the ref for it. Generally "I don't like you." doesn't pass muster unless the Priest also doesn't like him, but ideally it should be something along the lines thst their recent actions have gone the needs of the Sword of Caine. And even with all thet, the challenged party can still decline. But doing so may make said party look weak. And a reputation for cowardice is dangerous in the Sabbat. But yeah if you go through all that and beat your boss in a fight, you can become the new boss. Just be a better one than the old one because those below you have the same rites to depose you.

So tonight I managed to cram three of my organic spike launchers into my giga-cricket's gullet. It now can open it's mouth and fire three bone spikes all at once, or in rapid succession, at five-hundred feet per second. Absolutely devastating to the watermelon I tested it on. The cricket is still dumb as a rock and about as slow, but it's now a force-multiplier instead of a novelty. I'm thinking about producing four or five more of them and posting them as sentries around my yard. The only drawback is that they can't regrow the bone spikes, "one and done" so to speak, and then I have to go and manually reload them. Silver lining literally is that I can still put silver or wooden spikes into them depending on what kind of trouble I'm expecting.
>>97678919Do the cricket's instinctively track enemies or something? Or attempt to ahh bite or mandible? them? I appreciate the enthusiasm but I have to admit my first response is 'couldn't a ghoul do this better?'On an unrelated note, what has your experiance been with ghouling hunters oh wise chat of the conversation. Now I know on paper this seems like a bad idea, but most hunters are pragmatic. If you lead with 'Yes you can try to kill me, but do it last, after you kill a bunch of other vampires', do you think they'd get over the angst long enough to be kinda useful? I'm researching my plausibly deniable options and it occurred to me that a real force multiplier would be giving hunters about 10% more knowledge then they already have (and if they are ghoul'd I'm not even sure that falls under a breach but that fine point may be lost if discovered I'm prepared to admit).
>>97678383Better to have too much respect for the wierd things, than a lack it.And there is a more broad definition of things than what we can fit in a straight box.>>97678919Have you considered using the cricket's natural spines in place of shaped bones for the launcher? So long as the limbs or jaws remain attached a cricket can regrow individual hairs and spines for the most part. Might make them spiney little bastards but done right it could add another layer of protection.>>97680002Better? Maybe. But in terms of cost ratio? Those big dumb crickets are heinously cheap and won't OD in a gas station bathroom on you.For your unrelated note, the fact of the matter is hunters are people and are unpredictable. I had the misfortune of being in close proximity to a very large group of hunters and they ranged wildly in how effective they were and devoted to the cause. Some of those guys would straight up pull a Tremere given the chance, others would kill themselves if you ghouled them.I can't see it being worth it in the long run unless you need to kill a bunch of people. Like, a disconcerting number of people.
>>97680002If you ask me, there are very few good reasons to ghoul a hunter, for example an immediate, emergent need to extract information or have one more body in the line of incoming fire, and only when you don't have a better way to do it and/or survive. I tend to just use my Disciplines rather than Blood Bond.Hunters are paranoid and often suspect their fellows are under our manipulation even when they aren't. They are already craving for your Vitae, why add a supernatural bond on top of it?
>>97676772>>97676802It isn't as if you can't invite me back in the future. You have a most dreadful thing; 'Friends.'And don't worry. I'm familiar with Malkisms and Rav tricks. I am not the woman whose going to Oedipus herself. Hm. Interesting times ahead regardless.
>>97680002Knew a Lick in Daly, think it was '80, maybe 81; he thought much of the way you did. Slipped some vitae into the drinks of a few girls that were giving us trouble then waited for withdrawl symptoms to do the convincing. Brought one or two with him to every meeting between our respective packs. He liked to show them off, all dressed up (or down) and armed to the teeth. This sort of showboat behavior was pretty common for the bay area at the time, "Hunters? What kinda Cainite has any trouble with hunters. Lil vitae, firm hand and they're as docile and obediant as my girls." And I hate to admit, after the Cammies our biggest problem was Hunters, my man strutting around with them at his beck and call was impressive. For as long as it lasted. One night. He didn't show. His girls said he was busy and they were here on his behalf. There was a lot of grumbling, some snarled threats to the effect that he better show up next meet or there'll be shit from the Ductus. And there probably would've been if the cammies hadn't wasted him. Unlife was cheap and things could get disorganized very quickly. And so Five years passed. The Prince's boys had us on the run, we had the bright idea in hiding out in one of his warehouses. And who should we find but the man himself. Most of him. I couldn't tell you how they kept him from regenerating his limbs or jaw. Or where they sourced the blood to dripfeed him, kr even where they went after we ambushed them, I couldn't even tell you if we managed to kill them all. All I know is he spent five years as a jawless nugget, kept alive as a vitae tap for those girls.
>>97681465If you salt the wound you can slow healing down for a day or two, or a week if you apply when super-heated. Couple years back my gang got screwed over by a very lost Cammie enforcer and we had to keep him 'unhanded' until he fessed up the codes to a safe holding our payment. It ain't the hardest thing in the world usually. Especially since they gave him the nugget treatment it would be a basic chore.

>>97681622New Ductus killed him for flaking.
>>97681638Leadership in every sect would rip his heart out. Just different reasons.
>>97681465>>97681552Ah, so "nugget" is slang for a quadruple amputee. I heard tales of nuggets before, mostly as a form of punishment, but this the first time I hear of one that didn't have its limbs simply cut over and over as they regenerated.
