What's a decent fantasy jump where a multiversal conquerer can buy a battalion and make a dickhead upstart of himself?

So this scene mutated a bit as I wrote it. Had some trouble writing a duel or going into it. And the talking felt more organic so. I adjusted it a bit. Not sure what quite came over me."Fwoot" The stray notes of a ocarina ring out over the plains as venti walks along the riverside. Fingers idly toying with the instrument as plays. Not that anyone was really around to hear currently. His companions were occupied and no one really with any sense would come out this far into the northern plains without a good reason to. The bard looks east to a distant mountain. Scanning the plains when a voice breaks through the momentary silence."Hunt going well today little Songbird?" A familiar voice asks from behind him.Well... almost anyone anyway. Venti thinks."Oh definitely. Todays the day. I'm sure the bastard's treasure is just over the next hill. Tucked away in some cave." He suppresses a grin not turning backwards"Just you wait. Soon enough I'll be swimming in the rupees." He jokes."Must be a slow day at camp if you're all the way out here though.""Maybe I just want to hear a private performance from my favorite Bard? Though what exactly do you intend to do with your riches once you find them?" The unseen voice wonders."Well" The hylian hums as he finally turns around."Perhaps I'll go back west. Buy some nice house in the capital, see if I can't take my music career to the next level for the empresses court."He turns to see Minerva standing there. Arms crossed. Her lips upturned at the bards' bold words."Oh I don't believe that for a second.""Why not?" Venti questions."Well, I hardly think you're decide to settle down now after fifty-five years out here among us. You're practically one of us. And I hardly think you'd be happy in the capital of all things." Minerva shrugs confidently. Stepping closer to the bardVenti lets out a huff crossing his arms."Oh please I wouldn't be that dramatic."1/5
>>97647982"I disagree! It's not dramatic at all. The Khan insists. Looking down at the bard."You bring in meat from hunts, you treat the sick when there are any, you've negotiated with the trade caravans for us more than once, You're at every festival." Minerva lists off casually on her fingers."Hells, you've been here long enough. I've had children ask me what happened to your wife."That last one causes venti to snort. Grinning back"And what do you end up telling them?" "Well...""I like to mix it up a bit each time. Sometimes I'll tell them you're just a traveler who wandered in and stuck around for a bit. Others I say you're a runaway from your family who still hunts you to this day." "And sometimes..."The Gerudo bends down, looking venti in the eye."I tell them I stole you from the Khan of the Muram. Grabbed you right off the plains."She says with complete seriousness in her red eyes."You... are drunk. or making a bad joke. One of the two." Venti chuckles a bit embarrassed as he steps back. Not sure quite how to respond to that."Oh no! It takes a LOT to get me drunk nowadays. And I don't have much good reason to open the strong stuff. Really you ought to enjoy being able to do while you still can practically."The gerudos stern expression breaks into a grin before she stands up straight again."Well, I'll be sure keep that in mind oh wise Immortal."He sighs a mix amused exasperation on his face. "Well then. Care to join me on my treasure hunt if you've got the afternoon free?" He looks down and brushes his green cloak free of grass for a moment before smiling up towards the Khan. "Well, I suppose I can accompany you if you're so sure todays the day." "Oh I'm positive todays the day." The bard Beams.2/5
>>97647982They did not in fact find the bandit Kings hoard that day. No what truly happened was they spent few hours or so searching for a cave and when they did it was just filled with run of the mill monsters. Not long after that they encountered a fruit trader running late and going east that they ended up helping to carry their haul to the next city to make it in time. And then when they were getting back to searching, they were lucky enough to find a place quite rich with essence. It was only reasonable they both take a short break to cultivate. These little quests went on throughout the afternoon and long into night. The result somehow ending up with the two perched together atop a cliff face at midnight as they take another break."So... tell me something." The khan says looking down at the bard she had wrapped her arm around. The wind touched cultivator strumming his lyre idly."Why keep hunting for this treasure when you have to know you're never find it?" Venti thinks for a moment. Tucking his instrument away."Well... I get the feeling you might already know. Do I have to spell it out?""No but I'm curious to hear it in your own words."He sighs but nods relenting."Oh, very well. If you insist." "It's mostly because I like to do it. It gives me an excuse to go out there and see the world. Helps me meet new people. See new things if I'm looking for something." The bard confesses. Digging into his pocket and pulling out one of the melons given to them earlier as a reward."Yes, I could anyway but it's nice to have a goal sometimes. Even the wind usually only blows in one direction at once. As easily as it may turn." He pauses as he digs into his pocket and fails to find his knife there. Having lost it somewhere when he wasn't looking."I see." Minerva nods.Watching as Venti tries to figure out some way of cutting the melon. Eventually settling on just making a wire like thread of blue magic and sawing through it. 3/5
>>97648039"But have you given anymore thought of what you'd like to do beyond that? You've got nothing but time but you've said you don't have a dream.""That's... a tough question." The bard comments. Looking up to the stars."Well... I have thirty more years to go before I'm supposed to return to my sect. But after that... I hope you wouldn't mind me coming around now and then." The Gerudo scoffs shaking her head."Foolish man. You don't even need to ask. You have a place here as long as you wish to."Venti sighs but smiles looking up towards Minerva."Thank you. That means a lot that you'd say that." A sense of relief washes over the bard. Even if he didn't need to rely on Minerva's kindness. The fact she did care. It took a weight off of him he wasn't quite aware he bore before."Here." He says after a moment. Holding up a piece of melon."It's tasty. You should try some." The khan pauses but nods. Silently taking a piece and biting into it."It is good thank you.""I'm glad." Venti nods a thoughtful look coming over his face as he considers something. After a long silent moment, he finally adds to try and answer her question further."Maybe I'll see if I can't enter into one of the schools of magic back in the heartland. It is fascinating stuff; I wonder what other sort of spells people have made." "I hardly think I'd fit in though so probably not."Maybe I'll go west. All the way to the other side. See what Hyrule is like over there. I'd like to see the ocean again after so long. Though I'll have to ask Midna and Ritsuka what they wish to do to." "How carefree." Minerva comments."I will take that as a compliment." The bard chuckles for a moment."I try to be. No use stressing so much I think." He thinks for a moment before towards the Khan again."You know... you can come with us. If you want to. I know you're queen but I'm sure we can find a way."4/5
>>97647982"Venti I-" Minerva begins before suddenly being cut off."Listen I... know it's probably not simple but." The bard begins suddenly speaking quite fast."When I think about it deeply... I do have a dream. To see all there is to see in Hyrule. All its peoples all its lands, to help those who need it. See every sight that has been forgotten. Every corner. Travel all these lands that seem to stretch forever. And... I'd love to share that dream with you." "You don't have to choose between coming with us or your people. I wouldn't ask you to do that I wouldn't want to hurt you that way, But if possible..."The bard smiles a tentative hopeful smile up at her."Just... think about it will you? if there is a way. I'll be here for a while longer. But I'd hate to separate fully once that long is over."The Gerudo falls silent for what seemed like an eternity compressed into just a few seconds for the two cultivators. Before leans down and grabs the bard. Hugging him tight without any warning."You really are a fool. a kind and silly fool." "Come on." She says dropping the short man before stepping off the cliff onto the thin air and offering him a hand."You want to see all there is to, see? I think there's a sight you're able to appreciate fully at this point.""Gods. The memories of the pictures back on earth really doesn't do it justice does it?" Venti asks stunned. "No, they really don't." Minerva agrees. Holding onto his hand. The pair floating higher than venti had ever dare gone before. The clouds themselves were below them. A vast endless land peeking through between them."We're a little below where the atmosphere ends. The edge of this world. I've never really been here either, but you put a idea in my head of something new." Minerva admits a touch of rare softness in her voice as the two just stare in wonder. That night a hoard of rupees or artifacts wasn't found. But what was instead. Venti would not trade for the world.5/5
>>97647982>So this scene mutated a bit as I wrote it. Had some trouble writing a duel or going into it. And the talking felt more organic so. I adjusted it a bit. Not sure what quite came over me.One of the signs of well written characters is that as you write them, you realize that what you’re writing isn’t how things would go. It means the characters are developed enough that you understand how they would react to a new situation through the understanding of them you’ve developed through their past actions.>And I hardly think you'd be happy in the capital of all things.Honestly, I think he’d be fine.>>97648008>"Oh no! It takes a LOT to get me drunk nowadays. And I don't have much good reason to open the strong stuff. Really you ought to enjoy being able to do while you still can practically."Alcohol for Immortal rank cultivators must work on some kind of conceptual (for lack of a better word) level. If it worked like regular alcohol, you could easily have a drink that could kill a fourth rank Divine Delusion cultivator with a single drop, yet Ritsuka could drink the whole keg and react like it was water. As such, the alcohol would need to work differently.>>97648039>The khan says looking down at the bard she had wrapped her arm around. My mind insists that Venti is in Minerva’s lap.>>97648064>but you've said you don't have a dream. He had a dream, once. But is it still a dream, once it’s been realized?>Foolish man. You don't even need to ask.>”Of course I did. I wanted to hear you say it.”>>97648083>"You really are a fool. a kind and silly fool."Who’s more foolish, the fool or the one who falls for him?>But what was instead. Venti would not trade for the world. And so Venti and Minerva’s romantic arc takes another step. Because really, there’s no denying that that’s what’s happening at this point.
>>97648545>It means the characters are developed enough that you understand how they would react to a new situation through the understanding of them you’ve developed through their past actionsYeah, I just figured they'd both know how venti wailing on her fruitlessly would go. He can demonstrate what he knows and can do in other ways.>Honestly, I think he’d be fine.Eh that's true. Though it is a lot more formalized there. He wasn't really being serious with that suggestion. Though Minerva herself doesn't want him to go which is partly why she said that. I was originally going to have another whole discussion about her asking him what he'd do if he ever ruled a country. What he'd want it to look like. But I had to cut that for space.>As such, the alcohol would need to work differentlyYeah I'm operating under the idea that higher grade cultivators need higher tier alcohol. And even that might vary a lot depending on cultivation path. Alcohol probably would be simpler if some advanced cultivator made something more conceptual.>My mind insists that Venti is in Minerva’s lap.See I almost did do that. But wondered if it'd be too much so far.>Who’s more foolish, the fool or the one who falls for him? It's a common thing said about the bard. And yet he's still doing rather well for himself no? Maybe there are worse things than being a fool.>And so Venti and Minerva’s romantic arc takes another step. Because really, there’s no denying that that’s what’s happening at this point. What can I say? You convinced me a bit. I see it akin to a frog swimming in a slowly boiling pot. But at some point, subtext just becomes overt.Funnily enough Venti was holding onto dear life to Minerva in that last bit being so high up. Even if he can fly himself now.
>>97648631>Yeah I'm operating under the idea that higher grade cultivators need higher tier alcohol. And even that might vary a lot depending on cultivation path. Alcohol probably would be simpler if some advanced cultivator made something more conceptual.Yeah, it’d have to bypass the physical route of affecting you entirely. This would also result in alcohol that can only get you drunk up to a given point no matter how much you drink, and doesn’t leave you with a hangover.>See I almost did do that. But wondered if it'd be too much so far.Next time then.>It's a common thing said about the bard. And yet he's still doing rather well for himself no? Maybe there are worse things than being a fool.Xianxia Hyrule is a place where being a sincere fool is rewarded.>Funnily enough Venti was holding onto dear life to Minerva in that last bit being so high up. Even if he can fly himself now.Thing is, Minerva would notice and react to that.>”Does this height make you nervous?”>“A little, yeah.”>Minerva lifts Venti up and cradles him in one arm>”How do you feel now?”

Sadly, the second stage of god body isn't that notable till the end. Though the final techniques really good for passive growth. But the next notable thing would probably be the Resonances in soul compass. Wondering what kind of strange effects that can have. Though it does mention if one resonance hits another type it causes the essence that spawned it to fade out from existence. That could be pretty disastrous if a cultivator was using all their essence to make a resonance and it accidentally hit a second resonance. Just a whole elemental store of a type of essence would end up fading away.

>>97648928>Maybe! The waters going to boil even between scenes after all. I like to think this was basically a early heart event by game terms.Makes sense. I’d imagine Venti has noticed where the relationship himself and Minerva is going by now. As one might expect from someone attuned to the wind, rather than trying to control how this plays out, he will let things progress as they will.>Sadly, the second stage of god body isn't that notable till the end.On the contrary, Mold Forging is the big one. Just a whole elemental store of a type of essence would end up fading away. That’s why Soul Compass goes so much faster if you’ve got a lot of essence to work with.
>>97648994>Makes sense. I’d imagine Venti has noticed where the relationship himself and Minerva is going by now. As one might expect from someone attuned to the wind, rather than trying to control how this plays out, he will let things progress as they will.Yeah it makes sense in character. Though that doesn't mean he can't have a little fun with it at times and or play dumb at times. >On the contrary, Mold Forging is the big one. One might say the entire first stage of God Body exists purely to get you to the point you can survive Mold Forging.True. Mold forging is a big one. Though something ventis probably already past. He's hovering around technique 3 for all of the styles atm in stage 2. Though I'm not to sure what having a ki network might be good for immediately aside from laying the groundwork for further things. Perhaps it'd speed up previous techniques and make it vastly easier to use ki in general? I know the latter feels obvious, but this is me thinking out loud. If so venti might be a lot stronger physically then I was imagining.>That’s why Soul Compass goes so much faster if you’ve got a lot of essence to work with.True its a hell of a cost to pay though. I suppose it'll be up to the cultivator to be careful until they can work up to making a resonance where that doesn't happen.
So, Jumper has an archive with the full technological library of Bioshock 1,2 and Infinite along with Pre-War Fallout Earth. He is about to enter Avatar: The Legend of Korra and I'm wondering what technology if any he could introduce or trickle into the setting. Preferably tech that would lead to immense wealth even if I don't need it.
>>97649082Well plasmids would be very popular. Might want to try and iron out the addictive qualities and DNA unraveling though. Otherwise you might have the avatar on your ass but honestly with your set up even then you'd be fine. You'd have the capabilities to conquer the world if you got time to set up properly.

He's going to end up giving the relics and treasure to the gerudo anyway. But end up taking the Pearl back to somewhere in core hyrule to get examined. And people have tried to find it over the years. But every time a cultivator finds what they think is the real one its fake. Ventis taking a unintentional approach to it but he's slowly getting there. As a world building idea I think there might be a philosophy among Tri-cultivators. A bit of a concept called "Walking the golden path." where a tri-cultivator tries to do a certain number of trials or cultivate a different assortment of skills as they go. Forging a Mortal triforce for example before ascending to the immortal realm, making a sufficiently holy blade once they do reach the immortal realm eventually. Displaying sufficent leadership qualities. Things like that that.I sort of like the idea that venti might be walking among that without fully realizing it.

>>97651074>Nah, God Body is the fastest path if you’ve got the skills. She’ll probably slow down or even stop once she reaches the fifth stage, just because she wouldn’t want to outpace you too much.Yeah that'd make sense to me. Maybe that'd be a neat scene though eventually. Ritsuka becomes a Ki being though and venti/the gang reacts. Helps her adjust.>You’ll need to look into some basic ways of making money, mortal followers require support.True. I imagine there are a lot of opportunities in the emerald sea but venti might be scratching his head trying to find some for a second.>If you’re cultivating all three paths, that gives you three sets of milestones to hit.Maybe. I was thinking of it as a sort of extra thing some do but I could see most if not all wanting to do it that way to. I'll try to think up some good milestones.I was thinking one of them might be in the immortal realm to take the triforce one makes at the peak of the mortal realm and put it somewhere under their charge or care. And it'd have a sort of blessing effect of good fortune to a lesser degree sort of like it may in regular zelda and its Hyrule.>No reason it has to be a blade, or even a weapon in generalI guess not. I was thinking a blade or some sorta weapon at least as a callback to Fi/the master sword. >Imagine a sculpture that harms any true demon that enters the village it protects. That could work potentially. I could definitely see those in the world.
>>97651653>True. I imagine there are a lot of opportunities in the emerald sea but venti might be scratching his head trying to find some for a second. It might be better to start with a ship that only needs a few people to crew it, and hold off on gathering mortal followers until you’ve established your island.>I was thinking one of them might be in the immortal realm to take the triforce one makes at the peak of the mortal realm and put it somewhere under their charge or care. >>97651761>It might be better to start with a ship that only needs a few people to crew it, and hold off on gathering mortal followers until you’ve established your island. That was my thinking to. Only have about 3 or 4 sailors. The island itself I sorta like to think they find and settle wholesale potentially. I like the idea of working from the ground up there. I like the idea of there being a city of scholars/Traders that eventually pops up somewhere in the emerald sea. Maybe Venti opens up a school for the inhabitants of the region.>Sounds goodYeah. Though now I'm wondering if that does stack a bit and the deeper you go into hyrule you just find more of those triforce blessed areas. Many probably overlapping like some kinda cake. >>97651831>The island itself I sorta like to think they find and settle wholesale potentially. I like the idea of working from the ground up there. That said, yeah, mortal triforces would likely be fairly common in the capital.>It might be fun to make the sword spirit a character eventually to.Artifact spirits becoming characters in their own right is a common thing in xianxia. This makes me think the spirit of the first Master Sword must have ascended to divinity by now.
>>97651932>I’m sure there are plenty of schools out there, and even several branch sects. Still, your island will need a school.Oh I know. I just sorta like the idea the city takes a bit of a scholarly bent if that makes sense. Not just for magic but for engineering and philosophy and various other things to. >Artifact spirits becoming characters in their own right is a common thing in xianxia. This makes me think the spirit of the first Master Sword must have ascended to divinity by now.Oh most likely! I imagine the fi expy/The first master sword is easily in the divine realm. Especially if it was made by Hylia or the first link ages and ages ago in the first era.It might be for comedic sake a bit. But I imagine ventis potential sword/weapon would end up while a bit logical also fairly emotional to and prone to overreacting. Sort of a inverse to canon Fi. >Sword: I calculate a 100% chance of kicking your ass if you give us another pointless side quest.>Venti: Please don't try to intimidate the farmer or Gods forbid the empress.
>>97652031>I just sorta like the idea the city takes a bit of a scholarly bent if that makes sense. Not just for magic but for engineering and philosophy and various other things to.Sounds fun. >>97652349>After that visit to space, Venti might dream of building a space elevator.eh a space elevator might not fit the vibe of the world a bit. A spirit in close proximity to the empress like that? It'd be scandalous if they weren't a cultivator in a way.
>>97652380>eh a space elevator might not fit the vibe of the world a bit.Perhaps an archway that teleports you to an observatory in space then. It’s much easier to study the stars if the atmosphere isn’t in the way.
>>97652434>Perhaps an archway that teleports you to an observatory in space then. It’s much easier to study the stars if the atmosphere isn’t in the way.Oh I like that! It feels much more thematic. Also depending on how far you are from the planet, you may need gravity generation.
>>97652781>And after that trip to space, it would make sense that you’d want others to be able to see that view.Yeah the seeds of the eventual space travels have been planted. >The critical parts are just the island (several ways you could get that)I was thinking maybe making it out of earth essence directly by then. That way, if you fall off the edge you just land back on the island.Oh thats a good idea honestly. If he could give it its own gravity that'd solve a big issue. Even if it essentially becomes its own satellite a bit. It becomes a gateway to the stars in multiple ways a bit.
>>97653318>Yeah. I'm leaning more towards making it so it doesn't take away anything from the world directly. You could always make some more land. I did not consider. But you suddenly put a thought in my head. Of the core observatory getting built up over time and its own population. To the point where even after venti has to retire as ruler. He's still sorta left with the observatory because its not technically on the island. And that sorta ends up leading into becoming his domain as a vassal for hyrule and eventually the travelling observatory through the stars like a slow evolution of the domain itself. Kind of like cultivation in a way.

Good evening. DC K.O. #6, the Detective Comics Comics issue in which the most powerful version of Superman put to paper to date, who has the combined power of Doomsday realising he is the vessel of the Alpha Effect (unlike that cuck Highfather) and sacrificing his rebirth to buff Superman, the energy of a big bang, the Heart of Apokolips guiding him and the DC omniverse itself willing his victory sacrificing ALL THAT POWER merely to push Darkseid in his current level of wank back into the Absolute Universe. As a result, and with much dismay, I'll be uploading an update for the DC Comics jump after this post.>Changelog>To Be Continued now costs 1000 CP

So, I'm still not great at writing fight scenes. But I'm keeping at it. Hope the threads been well. The bright lantern light shined into the depths of the cave. Illuminating its stone slopes as the bard carefully makes his way down into it."Let's see if there's any story behind you friend." He mumbles as he steps further into the darkness. Going for quite a while until he turns a corner in the large cave halting at what he sees. A whole trove of things Rupees cut in a style much larger and bulkier than what he was familiar with all put into a pile, Swords, shields, assorted artifacts imbued with various kinds of essence even some time and space essence from what the bard could tell. That was rare indeed. "Well...I'll be. Actual treasure or... a trap." The cultivator takes a step closer squinting in shadows"So dark I wish there was a- Oh right magic." Venti sighs rubbing the bridge between his eyes. A moment later a light ignites overhead him almost like a flare chasing away the darkness."That's better." The Hylian grins as he leans down. Picking up a stone off the ground and testing things a bit. Throws it towards the pile of things. The grin quickly falls as the shadows of the room bending and writhing start to Coalesce taking the form of what he could only assume was meant to be a man made of shadow and black fire given physical form, floating in the air. A sword bigger than either of them and about as wide in one hand. "Ah... crap." Venti sighs summoning his bow to hand."Would have been too easy otherwise I suppose."The Monster... demon? He couldn't tell which on first glance. Just looked down at him with a piercing glare. He wondered just how intelligent it was and if it was going to say anything before it with its free hand shot a ball of lighting at him.The bard grunts as he rolls to the left. Just out of the blast zone once it hit the cave ground."Right, lets get started." 1/3
>>97669701...Venti wished he could say this fight was a squash, that he tore this dark being to pieces. But that'd sadly be a lie. It quickly became apparent; this fight was going to be a brutal one of ducking and dodging balls of lightning and sword strikes that seemed to cut through rock like butter. The bard was constantly pressed on the backfoot. It reminded him a lot like every time he "Dueled" Minerva. Though this monster sure wasn't letting him hit them easily even if he was able to get a few blows on the dark being. The wall next to him explodes into debris and the floor shudders beneath Venti. Another blast of lightning coming moments after. He dodges again narrowly avoiding it but the lightning still connects with his bow. To much his surprise though the attack bounces straight off the goldwood. Hitting the ceiling."Oh" His eyes widening at the sight.Wait... the goldwood of course! It was said to be holy Afterall. Holy enough to deflect an attack from a greater Monster, seemingly. He thought. He couldn't help but laugh. A nervous, manic cackle as he rolls dodging a sword strike from the floating menace. A idea coming to mind. "Alright! I see your game. Let's play some tennis."Thank the Goddesses Ritsuka kept him on his toes reflex wise. The lightning next time the demon tried it sent it, was thrown back arcing towards it. Only for the floating darkness to hit it back towards him as well. The unstable magic only seeming to grow faster and more erratic with each return. To the point it'd probably just be a vague blur to mundane eyes. The lightning seemed adamant on dodging its caster. Hitting the walls and floors making holes wherever it hit. It took a dozen attempts ending in the bard either getting hit by the blast debris or thrown around from it. Finally, finally though the deflected attack struck its originator. Striking the shadow in its chest as it convulses there in the air."Now! lets how you like it!" 2/3
>>97669701Venti grimaces. Taking the opportunity there as he finally uses his bow for its intended purpose. Drawing back an arrow and pouring as much fire and light essence as he could into it. Even hastily converting some of the vast sum of wind he had tapped over the years on the plains to add to the fiery light. The arrow flew fast, shining brighter than a star to his eyes and then... everything was drowned out in white. The bard feels his back impact the cave wall, but when his sight finally returns the shadowy monster is nowhere to be seen, though neither is the cave for that matter. The ceiling had been blown open, sunlight pouring in as white clouds creep overhead."Urgh well... that might have been a bit to much fire in that." The bard groans standing up. Making sure nothing was broken as he looked around the now open skied cave. The treasure for the most part had been scattered thrown to the four winds across the cave and probably beyond. Though a handful of the rupees still remained, along with a small metal box still there, previously buried by the horde of gems."Oh, I wonder what you are..." Venti muses as he steps closer kneeling down to open box to find only a leather-bound book, with a sphere a little bigger than his fist. Made of some red glass or crystal. It felt warm to the touch as he picked it up. Looking it over. He vaguely recognized a symbol of Din on its surface. An old one he only recalled from books back in the sect. "How mysterious." He can't help but grin though, despite his exhaustion and injuries. It felt comforting to hold in a way. He decides to tuck it and the book away into his bag before taking one more sweep of the room before the bard starts collecting everything that had scattered. Laughing to himself at the situation."Their certainly not going to believe all this back home."3/3
Let's try this again.
>>97669463Good to know, and thanks for the answer!Other than that, not a question proper, as this seems to me like more a matter of fanwank, but I've been thinking as to how the transitions between Early Golden Age, Golden Age and Silver/Bronze Ages would look like with the Age After Age toggle, given their lack of cosmic events to explain the retcons.Personally, I'm going with the idea of the cosmos reformatting into its new form at the start date of the given age, though with the jumper unaffected (wouldn't do to just be retconned away without a Crisis to kill you first, after all) and with their actions carrying through where they don't conflict too much with the new state of things.Well, I suppose I could just start at Silver/Bronze and go from there, where there are events to justify the resetting, but it feels more appropriate to me to start at the earliest point and go from there, experiencing the different ages and taking the corresponding scenarios. That said, I suppose I'd need to contrive explanations for how they happening past a certain point of deviation from canon.
I have a dumb autistic question about ownership. So lets say my jumper bought a building. Under the building and throughout the block was a secret nefarious underground lab that was discovered and exposed. Who owns that underground complex? Is it considered bad form to try and acquire secret hide outs where horrible things took place after they have been discovered?
>>97670073Assuming your jumper didn't create the underground complex. I'd have to imagine they wouldn't own the complex as is. As for bad form. Eh I'm pretty sure some rich people do that except they buy houses murders take place in for cheap. But its still in bad taste I imagine.
>>97670073You own the building and everything under it. Whoever owns the other buildings own the portion of the lab under their respective buildings. Or really, it's the boundaries of the land that matter.
>>97670073That actually depends on the local zoning laws. Some places have the local government keep ownership of the land below a certain distance

That is a whole lifetime really. I'll try to take that into account going forward. Change how he approaches things. Just a touch of alienness compared to a mundane human/Hylian might be alright at this point.>Need to develop a superspeed spell. Not a bad idea. Though ventis also just kinda able to reach near super speeds on his own at this point even without magic.>I should check and see who this person is.Yeah, ventis gonna have a distant eye on him going forward a bit is my thinking.>The same scholar who examines the Ruby would be a good person to tell you what it means.Possibly! its not a major plot point admittedly but it'd be good world building.Next scene might be a small slice of life one of midna forging her quintessence's. >>97670640>Just a touch of alienness compared to a mundane human/Hylian might be alright at this point.Yeah, at this point Venti would be a little different.>Yeah, ventis gonna have a distant eye on him going forward a bit is my thinking.>Hylia: Wait, he’s from Earth.>Din: Small world, huh.>Or vaati just starting to legitimately being affected by the heart containers. This might work for his new look.
>>97670653>Yeah, at this point Venti would be a little different.Probably just a bit. Magical transhumanism is setting in and all that. >This might work for his new look.Oh thats nice, It could work. It's definitely cultivatoresque. Just throw in some pointy ears. I was considering just doing the gender bending thing a bit but that could fully manifest later if I do.Side thought but for a scene I want to do eventually: I do want venti to end up going fishing casually with some variation/incarnation of Link one day. Outside the auspices of destiny. That could be a good bit.

Abilities/skills as perks feel weird. Like False Swipe is a fine move, but would you pay 100 CP just to learn it? It doesn't enhance your abilities at all. You need to actually use the move to get any benefit out of it. And like, it's one move. You probably have thousands of moves or entire magic systems. Hrm. What do you think?
Gohan is based.
>>97672096TRVKE.
>>97671881If you're offering it as a perk, overhaul it so that works more like an ability that can be applied to any move rather than just straight up getting False Swipe and/or Hold Back. Also proofs it against the issue about neither move being completely useful because ghost types and issues with them removing the type-changing moves in Gen 9 since they don't play nice with Paldea's gimmick.
>>97670901>As your abilities change, what seems normal will change as well.True your sense of normal would shift even if its not personally other peoples.>Yeah, my thinking is Vaati originally had a stern, or even fierce countenance, but the Heart Containers are starting out by pushing him towards looking more soft and gentle. That sounds about right. What are some stupid things that you know are stupid but you still want as perks/items for your jumper?Anyways boobs for fun but pointless idea.Like I want the Dramatic Finish screen from that one Dragonball z fighter game to play whenever you finish a battle in a cool way. I am very, very bored. I am considering doing a side chain. Usually I would try a roll chain where people suggest jumps and I take them but I want to try something a little different.Instead I am asking for a word/concept and I will try and find a jump that matches it as close as I can.Like it someone said Car,I could choose fast and the furious. If someone said fish I could choose one of the jumps about mermaids or something. If someone said penis I would probably have to go to QQ for something. I would rather not by the way, please don't.

So as this has gone on. I've noticed my scenes to go on for longer a bit. So I wanted to ask if 5 post scenes are fine given these threads not to busy anyway or if I should try to cut back a bit.In the meantime, though have a scene. The essence structure within the twili vibrated gently as resonances kept striking it one by one. Then in pairs, once three at a time started to hit however the creation which was promising at first began to vibrate though it still endured. Still it kept going the resonances increasing from fours to finally seven. Though the moment seven resonances hit the structure of dark essence. It cracked, crumbling into pieces. "Danm it" Midna mutters opening her eyes as she reabsorbs what was left of the essence to reuse. From nearby, on the couch. Venti looks up from mending the green cloak he usually wore. Needle in hand."Hey! You got to the using all resonances at once part at least! That's a new best! I'd say its good progress"He grins encouragingly."I'm sure you're get it stable eventually. And once you have one, you're probably have a easier time with the rest."The sorceress sighs but nods. "Yes I know, I just need to keep trying at it. You hardly need to stay with me for this though you know. It's not the most interesting of things to observe." She smiles across the main room of their little pocket house."I know but... I like to be here." Venti shakes his head "Of course, if I'm distracting you and you want to be alone though. I can make myself scarce." "No of course you're not distracting me. It's not like your very loud." Minda says stretching."Well that's a relief." The bard sighs grinning as he puts down his needle and thread."Still. I'd say that's pretty good progress you're making. What say we celebrate. I'll make a nice meal for you tonight. Whatever you want. I know it's probably been a while since you last ate anyway."1/5
>>97680316"Oh you don't have to do all that." Midna mutters shaking her head"Last time I ate was-" She pauses before asking."When was that festival for midsummer?" "Midna!" Venti looks aghast as he bolts up from his seat."That was three weeks ago. Hells probably closer to four!""I've been busy."The twili says looking uncharacteristically embarrassed. Looking away as the bard darts over in front of her."Well that does it then." The tri-cultivator says firmly."I'm treating you tonight! Name your food and I'll cook it. And run you a nice bath something properly hot springesque. Yes, I know magic can do all that fast but It'll help you relax."He grins as he throws his arms around the twili."And afterwards we can play some chess if you'd like. Or some other game. Whatever you want."The bards grin only grows larger as the blue skinned woman. Sighs but smiles wrapping her arms around him as well."Well, that does sound pretty nice if your so adamant.""Great! Tonight, will be marvelous then. And you're fresh and ready for your cultivation tomorrow." He's given pause by the sound of the front door swinging open, as Ritsuka steps in excitedly. "Hey! You're never guess who just won in the arena this-" The body cultivator begins to say before pausing at the sight."Oh! Am I interrupting something?" The monkey woman asks."No! Just talking about what to do for tonight." Venti says shaking his head as he lets go of the twili."Going to make a nice meal for midna. Since she's training so hard." "Aww that's great! Really sweet." Ritsuka nods chipper"Almost makes me want to get a fancy meal." The body cultivator sighs dramatically crossing her arms."I made you dinner just last week Ritsuka." Venti points out."But I promise I'll do something again soon if you want. Whatever sort of meat you want, even Lynel." The martial artists eyes light up at the offer."Oh that'd be great!" 2/5
>>97680316She cheers before suddenly darting in front of the bard in half a blink and grabbing him into a slightly crushing hug."You're the best!" "Well, I gotta be When I live with you two." Venti mumbles grinning as he's dropped after a few moments"Yeah!, I guess you do." The redhead agrees, stepping back."So have you done your exercises yet today?" "Well-" "No" Midna says immediately. The bards face falls and he immediately looks to the twili with a expression that seemed to ask "How could you?!" "What? You haven't." Midna shrugs innocently. "You've spent the last few hours sewing, meditating and converting wind essence. I'm not going to lie." "Well! We still have daylight left to fix that! Come on!" She grins as she drags venti to the center of the room to a open space."Come on, work on the Latter molten blood flow. Get into position.""Fine fine..." Venti grumbles accepting this for now as he stretches. Adopting a stance. "This is still quite difficult for me, but I'll keep at it." He sighs as he slowly feels the sensation of Ki flowing to his fingers and toes. A sense of limberness always tended to come with this technique."Good!" Ritsuka nods satisfied at this."You got to cultivate every day if you want to be strong like your big sis after all!" She jokes pumping a arm"Besides your past the worst of it anyway for this stage. Now that you have your system established.""True" Venti concedes nodding as he goes through his motions."It's a LOT less painful." "Yeah, and you don't have to do something like make a replica of your own soul out of Ki." The body cultivator says flopping onto a nearby cushioned bench. The closest approximation venti could make to a couch so far."Yeah, I don't even want to begin to consider how I'd go about doing that." The bard sighs nodding."It's really complicated, a good stage and a half where you are. You won't have to do it anytime soon." 3/5
>>97680316The Immortal grins though before adding in a chipper tone."But... trying to learn the Ether Blood pulse before we head back to the sect would be a good goal for you! It'd probably impress your master a lot!" "That would be nice." Venti nods. Grinning at the thought."Not sure I can make that deadline, but I'll try." "Good! It's agreed. The body cultivator says grinning from her seat. "From now on you're just have to train twice as hard!""That's not what I meant by it and you know it." The bard calls as he draws his ki back, cycling it again."Maybe not, but still, it couldn't hurt! And besides I want to see how you're react to a technique a few steps down the line. Especially how you reacted to your mind and soul coming in contact with each other." She says cheerfully."Well you can't just say that and not explain. What's it do?" Venti wonders."Oh. It's wild!" She says holding up a hand."It basically moves where your mind is. Moving it from your body into your Ki system."That causes venti to go quiet for a while. Furrowing his eyebrows."Well that sounds interesting. I wonder how that'd function given my mind and soul are kind of interlinked now Hell my subconscious isn't exactly "Normal" Either" Theres not any problem for doing both?" Ritsuka lets out a long breath before nodding."Oh you still worry to much! It's perfectly-"She pauses midsentence before sitting up."Actually, I'm not sure when I think about it." She admits looking over to venti still practicing the technique."It... probably should be fine?" She says sounding just a bit unsure."If it wasn't I don't think Tri-cultivators would be a thing at this point. And Minerva wouldn't be as far as she is right now." "Thats a good point." The Hylian admits."If nothing else we can ask. Though it is curious."I'm no body cultivator but it sounds like one of those fundamental changes." Midna offers in a thoughtful tone.4/5
>>97680316"It sounds like its meant to make the mind more independent from the purely physical body, at least. All the paths have steps akin to that at some point. If I had to guess anything it'd just synergize with each other. Or at worse have no real effect.""Well, I guess that'd make sense. Though I still think I'll ask Minerva about it when I can." He nods pausing to scratch his leg before resuming the techniques basic exercises. "...I do think I see how one actually does end up reaching immortality eventually through all this." Venti added idly. Musing a bit."Hah Now you say that after 60 years of cultivating!" Ritsuka breaks out into a laugh leaning against the back of the seat and looking at the other two."I knew it worked! Don't get me wrong." Venti mutters vehemently shaking his head."I just... think I'm beginning to understand.""There is a difference between just knowing something and understanding it. That's common wisdom."Midna adds nodding, closing her eyes."Though if its all the same, I'm going to resume forging now. So I'd appreciate some quiet for a while.""Alright" The bard nods."I'm still doing dinner tonight once the sun goes down though!" "Of course." 5/5
>>97680316>So I wanted to ask if 5 post scenes are fine given these threads not to busy anyway or if I should try to cut back a bit.Considering there’s a full hour in between you posting and anyone else, I think you’re fine.>From nearby, on the couch. Venti looks up from mending the green cloak he usually wore. Needle in hand. You should look into embroidering a self-repair array into it.>I know it's probably been a while since you last ate anyway. She probably uses Light and Darkness to make herself full.>>97680347>"Oh! Am I interrupting something?" The monkey woman asks.>”Not that I object if I am.”>"I made you dinner just last week Ritsuka."And she probably hasn’t needed to eat anything since then.>>97680372>She cheers before suddenly darting in front of the bard in half a blinkReminds me of that idea about how once you reach the Immortal realm, you can start to affect the world purely through your will. The idea of Ritsuka teleporting next to Venti so she can hug him is fun.>>97680415>"But... trying to learn the Ether Blood pulse before we head back to the sect would be a good goal for you! It'd probably impress your master a lot!">Zhon Li: Boy, you spent decades living among natural body cultivators. Ether Blood Pulse is the bare minimum I’m expecting from you.>I wonder how that'd function given my mind and soul are kind of interlinked nowAs described, I’d imagine. Your mind and soul move into your Ki. I could see this enabling you to use Ki for spells and magic for Ki enhancement.>>97680428>There is a difference between just knowing something and understanding it.Cultivation is the prime example. You should have some scrolls the sect gave you, explaining each step of cultivating each path in the second stage, and you’ve certainly read all of them by now. Doesn’t mean you can use everything you’ve read.
>>97680316>So I wanted to ask if 5 post scenes are fineScenes are the highlight of the thread. You could be posting ten in a row and I can't imagine anyone would complain.
>>97681068Thank you! Thats good to hear. I do enjoy writing them>>97680985>Considering there’s a full hour in between you posting and anyone else, I think you’re fine.True. I just like to be considerate.>You should look into embroidering a self-repair array into it.Probably, but I wanted to have something for him to do with his hands a bit in scene. I was considering having him try to weave goldwood fiber of some kind into it. But that seemed a bit to expensive.>And she probably hasn’t needed to eat anything since then.>She probably uses Light and Darkness to make herself full. Both of these are true. Hell even venti probably doesn't need to eat to terribly often. But its still a nice way to unwind and relax. (Though Ritsuka does just want to be included sometimes.) >The idea of Ritsuka teleporting next to Venti so she can hug him is fun.It is a fun concept. That or shes so fast it comes across as teleporting even to other cultivators. She's just a fun way to do silly stuff.>Ether Blood Pulse is the bare minimum I’m expecting from you.See I had it planned for it to take 200 years overall to get through the second stage. and ether blood pulse is the capstone technique of the stage so I was imagining venti probably wouldn't be able to by the time the 100 years is up. But maybe being among the gerudo and having minerva and Ritsuka so available can legitimately speed it up. Specifically god body I mean.>I could see this enabling you to use Ki for spells and magic for Ki enhancement.Eh maybe later on with a bit more work, they feel a bit to fundamentally different to swap in and out like that even if they are within the Ki network. >Doesn’t mean you can use everything you’ve read.Exactly. It's not quite enlightenment but understanding. This scene I admit was mostly a slice of life bit. But the next one I want to do with Minerva should be after a small timeskip. Show a bit of the "New Venti" thats he's growing into being a bit.
>>97681165>I was considering having him try to weave goldwood fiber of some kind into it. But that seemed a bit to expensive.A project for later.>Both of these are true. Hell even venti probably doesn't need to eat to terribly often. But its still a nice way to unwind and relax. (Though Ritsuka does just want to be included sometimes.)Yeah, you could easily make a satiation spell. Eating is more of a social activity then a necessity for the three of you.>It is a fun concept. That or shes so fast it comes across as teleporting even to other cultivators. At her level, moving fast and teleporting would look the same to you.>She's just a fun way to do silly stuff. An endless font of good cheer is a valuable thing.>But maybe being among the gerudo and having minerva and Ritsuka so available can legitimately speed it up.Good teachers can speed up cultivation. >>97681259>A project for later.Yeah, getting a cloak that can deflect magical/unholy attacks feels like a good piece of equipment to have.>Good teachers can speed up cultivation. But I guess I just underestimated how much they'd help.>Minerva can help with all three paths.True. Combine that with Venti legitimately getting a lot of good training and uses of his skills, and the vast essence on the plains. Maybe he can actually reach the very beginnings of third stage before getting back. I wasn't planning on it but that'd be a nice win on top of the pearl. And it'd bookmark the steppe chapter. (I was going to have him reach that early into the emerald ocean stuff. But it might work better here.)>That should be funFun is a interesting word. It'll probably be the bard getting closure a bit. At least in regard to his old life. Finally, being able to move on fully and not dwell on what was lost. And his own acceptance of what he might eventually become. He might end up laying the groundwork for a few of the truths of dreams early. >and came across a picture that made me realize the answer for Vaati’s appearance was right there all along.You... Okay yeah that works kind of perfectly. Especially with his characterization so far. I can totally use that.I might steal one of your bits you did with your xianxia jumper for foundation of lucidity as a technique though if thats cool for a training scene. Basically blindfold and deafen him and send him through daily life with those new psychic senses.

Now if you want Generic Gohanposter I would go with the word Bully. You bully people weaker than you and really well... there you go.
>>97681506>It would certainly have made the fight with Phantom Ganon easier. It really would be. Though admittedly its entirely because that happened venti thinks of such a thing.>Also Ritsuka is probably going to teach at the sect when you return, so teaching you gives her some experience.Definitely, She'll probably have to do her proper teaching stint for a while at the sect. Or at least start it while ventis off on the archeological expedition.>Well, fun for me as a reader, for Venti it’d be more introspective.Fair enough! I'm imagining him having to track down and hunt a Lynel or something equivalent during that time as part of the training. Given by Minerva.Considering a bit that the 100 year gap between entering the second stage and the expedition. That him getting sent off into the wider world is a bit of a soft test or filter for cultivators around that point. To see if their keep up with their cultivation and pursue it even when not in that environment or having someone looking over their shoulder in the form of their master. If they do? So if they create a Goldenwood tree, it won’t have any special properties, and summoning a meal will give you something inferior to food made with spiritual ingredients. And of course, if they create a large bonfire, it’ll be very hot but there won’t be any Fire essence to draw out of it. So I'm not sure why but the muse held me at gunpoint a bit and made me get a little sentimental here. Have a short scene.A summer storm spun across the plains. It wasn't unusual for the warm season, but this one had lingered here for a few days now waxing and waning. It had gone unremarked on, until now being away from any grazing land that was really that desirable."You know I probably should have expected you here." Minerva remarks stepping into the heart of the storm, to see a familiar figure untouched by the rain."I suppose I'm just getting predictable then." Venti concedes. Looking out at the rain and occasional flash of lightning surrounding the circle of peace the two stood in."Not entirely little songbird. You're not quite playing a instrument this time after all. And you're not exactly dressed like you normally are." She says noticing the bard was out of his usual travelling clothes and cloak he defaulted to had been traded for a white and pale green robe."Well people do change their clothes sometimes." The Junior adds a bit dryly."It's just... something I felt like wearing. Midna and Ritsuka bought it for me shortly after we left the sect, in honor of "Becoming a proper cultivator."The gerudo could practically hear the air quotes around that last statement, but it seemed odd to her."Do you not consider yourself a "Proper Cultivator?" Minerva questions as she approaches him."Hmm you know I've asked that myself a lot over the years." Venti shrugs perhaps a bit to casually. Rolling his shoulders. "I don't really feel like a cultivator to much of the time, but there's not really a singular "Feeling" one should have as one either.""You're avoiding a definitive answer. You've got something on your mind." The khan comments as she stops by his side."I'm avoiding a definitive answer because there is none."The bard says simply as lightning flashes ahead of them miles away. Thunder rumbling in the distance.1/3
>>97686469"Perhaps, but its unlike you to be so somber. What bothers you?" Minerva frowns looking down at him."Nothing specifically bothers me, but if It had to be anything I guess I just... get a bit melancholic around this time." Venti explains. His demeanor still fairly subdued compared to normal."I first entered this world around this time of year. It often makes me think back to those times. About earth and what... was.""You're feeling loss." Minerva surmises, her expression softening a hint at the realization. "Loss is an apt way to put it I guess." The short cultivator nods. Watching the rain fall only inches away from his face but never quite reaching him."Loss of those who I loved, loss of what I knew even if it pained me in ways, loss of even myself""I've lost a lot, gained a lot to but still. I've tried to fill that loss. With friendships, the pursuit of cultivation, becoming better in some way or form. Wiser, stronger, Kinder. Many grand ambitions. And I've been happy."Finally, he smiles, in a bittersweet way as he raises his head towards Minerva."Truly I am, but it is still filling in for something I lost. I've changed a lot and I'm glad I have. But part of me still hurts. Mourning. Unable to let go."He reaches into the folds of his robe and pulls out a letter. Looking at it and then to the swirling wind and rain around. "Perhaps this is callous to say. That same part of me hates me for considering it but I think It's time to move on. My family back home wouldn't wish for me to mourn them forever and try so... desperately to hold onto a idea of what I was back then. It's a chain in its own way." "I refuse to be chained. Not even by myself." He raises the paper to the air for only a moment before its blown away by a sudden gust. Carried away, further and further until neither of them could see it.2/3
>>97686469"What was that?" Minerva asks after it finally blinks out of existence."Just a goodbye." Venti whispers, closing his eyes as he lets out a relieved sigh."My family is dead now by this point I feel is safe to say. At least for any that I knew after sixty years here, but... I choose to believe the Goddesses will be kind. That my words will somehow across time and space regardless reach them in some form." "I see.""And...what would you tell them if you could?" Minerva asks putting a hand onto Venti's shoulder."I'd let them know not to worry." Venti says immediately, before deciding to elaborate."I'd tell them I love them. That its not their fault I disappeared. That they... did not fail.""That I'm... okay. That I miss them. But I'm happy and wish they could be here."He sighs. Averting his wet eyes as he returns to watching the distance."But for now... I shall content to know. If they could see me. They'd probably be proud.""..." Minerva doesn't say anything. She only joins him in looking outwards not sure what to add."You really are all heart, Venti." She adds after a few minutes. It wasn't a condemnation"Yes." The bard agrees. Their voice still low."That will probably one thing that never changes about me." Minerva smiles at that "Good."The storm ran its course not long after. The two cultivator's departing with it. New understanding forged between them.3/3
So I suppose I am easily confused but I was looking at the strike witches jump and I am a little confused. Well beyond the obvious WTF is this. They charge 100 cp for every non Drop In origin. That's fine. Old School jumps do that. However this one doesn't have the free 100 cp perks for origin, the origin perks all start at 200 cp.Beyond creating a Drop In master race, what does the 100 cp Origins give for the cost besides a backstory? Also I know old jumpchain is weird and I am guessing the answer is really, nothing.
>>97687325If you don't have an origin, then you're someone with no history or identity running around with powerful and highly specialized military hardware
>>97687325The benefits you get are in the origin descriptions. Aces can push their striker's limits rather hard, Night Witches get better skill with early warning and detection magics, Witch Doctors get more powerful defensive and healing magics
>>97687333Yeah that sounds like a benefit though. No one ordering you in to battle. No Squad of soldiers you have to watch the back of. You can join the military if you want or just fuck off with no problem. Military life sounds hard honestly. I get there are reasons people sacrifice for but it is a sacrifice. I mean it's okay that the author of the jump didn't give the 100 cp perks but as a balance they should have rescinded the cost. Still it's not like the person who made it is probably even around to give a shit anymore so... it's a little bit of a moot point.
>>97687364Not being able to actually use your Striker because it's very much illegal to possess high powered government hardware's a bitch though, as would be having to dodge the military who'd very much want to get military hardware out of civilian hands.
>>97687344This, there may be an argument for. It kind of makes sense though some of the perks going to some of the origins doesn't. It seems like all the sensory perks except radar go to the non night witch origins. Again though the person who made it, probably long gone so short of watching all the series and making my own there is not much I can do.
>>97687381eh, maybe I don't know. It just seems odd to me. I'll just chock it up to early Jumpchain being odd.
>>97687422Dude, it'd be a problem IRL, it'd definitely be a problem in a world that's been in an active war footing for years and needs everything they can get
>>97687427If you have a warehouse you can just toss the crap in there and call it a day. If you don't you can stash it some place and never use it. Look maybe it's just me but I still don't see it. If you guys see it that's fine. I just don't. The one guy said you get extra abilities based on background, that's fine but I kind of wish they went in to more detail about that for us people who don't know the setting very well. Either way it's fine.
>>97687488>Just toss that crap in the warehouseNot being able to use your stuff for a decade is a very common drawback, you know
>>97687514No, that is fair, You can join the military or fuck off but if you fuck off don't expect to use your stuff without problems. I am not sure everything balances out here but as I have no way of influencing change, I kind of have to accept it.

>>97687925War, War never changes… except when aliens invade and start spreading miasma all over the place then it changes quite a lot. To say I was nervous when I first landed in this world would be a massive understatement. However despite a fear of heights I decided to try and do the best I could. I learned a small self hypnosis trick from a fellow newbie witch after not looking down didn’t work.Since I felt kind of thrown into the deep end in this I tried to make friends with the rest of the girls in my unit. They were nice, though most of them didn’t show it I kind of got the feeling they were all a bit scared too. Apparently night witches are supposed to be usually working on their own but I was lucky enough to be working closely with my unit. Meeting the enemy was horrifying. I had chosen an anti-tank rifle as my armament. I figured it would punch through alien bullshit enough to actually damage things. It did but the Rate of fire actually wasn’t the best. Still I found use in that I was aware enough about everything going around me to help try and keep everyone alive as we fought If I am honest I wasn’t the best witch, in fact my entire unit was rather ordinary. We got a few awards for jobs well done but I would say none of us distinguished ourselves as Anime Protagonist level. I mainly tried to stay alive and keep those around me alive. That was good enough for me.I served my tour of duty. And another because I didn’t want to leave the other girls in my unit to fight alone. By the end of the second tour though things had changed. War had taken its toll. I had lost friends. I nearly died a few times. I was ready for a rest. Civilian life was hard honestly. It was the great depression, jobs weren’t easy to come by. I wound up teaching at a military school for night witches trying to pass along my skills.
>>97686469>So I'm not sure why but the muse held me at gunpoint a bit and made me get a little sentimental here.Sentimental is the proper way to write such a scene.>"Do you not consider yourself a "Proper Cultivator?"To prove yourself to others is easy. To prove yourself to yourself is not.>>97686500>"Good."Indeed.
>>97688022>Sentimental is the proper way to write such a scene.Yeah I think so to a bit. Just thinking about the consequences of suddenly being thrust into a new world. Even if you do survive and thrive.>To prove yourself to others is easy. To prove yourself to yourself is not.A bit yeah. It's easy for him to see Midna and ritsuka as cultivators. Minerva as well but he's very aware of every failing and sluggish growth on his part. Sometimes he does feel like he's just pretending at something he really shouldn't have.Though those feelings started to fade now with time, experience and enough progression.>Indeed.I think even if its not a dream. This was a good display to minerva of Venti having more of a "Will" then when he met her. So she approves.
>>97687925I don't know much about strike witches but this seems like a good start if really rough with dumping you into a war. Glad things turned out well for them somewhat in the end.
>>97689605>It's easy for him to see Midna and ritsuka as cultivators. Minerva as well but he's very aware of every failing and sluggish growth on his part. Sometimes he does feel like he's just pretending at something he really shouldn't have.Perhaps part of developing a cultivator’s mindset is being able to think of yourself as one. Ritsuka doesn’t seem like the sort to have self-doubt, but Minerva may have felt like she didn’t really belong for a while, first as a cultivator, then as a Gerudo, and finally as a Khan.>This was a good display to minerva of Venti having more of a "Will" then when he met her. So she approves. It’s an important moment for Venti as well. It reminds me of the third tribulation in Nyanko’s setting, only this is the idea being done right.>>97686500>I choose to believe the Goddesses will be kind. That my words will somehow across time and space regardless reach them in some form.>Hylia: You cannot hear me, but I shall also speak and trust that my words shall go where they are needed. In the Divine Realm, there is a grand palace dedicated to Din, Nayru, Farore, and myself. Perhaps you have read a description of it at one point, across the ages there have been mortals who entered its halls and returned to the mortal world. But there is a secret known only to myself, the Golden Goddesses, my aides, and now you. In my quarters, there is a strongbox containing five hundred and eighty six letters, each written by a person who came to these lands from Earth and sent off in hopes that it would reach someone important to them. My own letter can be found at the bottom. I do not as of yet know where the Earth we were born on is, but with every one of us who arrives here I draw closer to finding it. I shall add your letter to the box, and one day, an Oracle of Nayru will bring it to its destination. So do not let the past be a burden upon your heart, for eternity is too long for regrets.
>>97689709>Perhaps part of developing a cultivator’s mindset is being able to think of yourself as one. Ritsuka doesn’t seem like the sort to have self-doubt, but Minerva may have felt like she didn’t really belong for a while, first as a cultivator, then as a Gerudo, and finally as a Khan. You get the idea there. It's a good bit of mindset and self-assurance. Ritsukas always been confident but shes very full of energy and doesn't see it quite the same way as Venti and I imagine Minerva does/did. >but Minerva may have felt like she didn’t really belong for a while, first as a cultivator, then as a Gerudo, and finally as a Khan.Oh definitely not if I had to imagine. Its been a big journey for her before she met venti. Even if she does feel like she has a place now. I imagine she's gone through a good bit of similar. So it felt appropriate to do the scene with her. With someone who might understand rather than midna or Ritsuka. >It reminds me of the third tribulation in Nyanko’s setting, only this is the idea being done right.I take that as a high compliment then! Thank you! It does sound a bit like the trial of loss when I go back and look at it. I think any long lived being or immortal will have to accept such a thing at some point if they don't want to be miserable forever. It also plays into the idea all the changes it takes to actually get to the immortal realm does shape the mindset a bit to be appropriate for such a being before you get there.>I shall add your letter to the box, and one day, an Oracle of Nayru will bring it to its destination. So do not let the past be a burden upon your heart, for eternity is too long for regrets. I'm just going to save that write up for my reference material for Hylia going forward. Thank you.Consider that Hylias reaction to seeing this from up in the divine realm.
>>97689620I am guessing you know about as much as I do. There are girls, who are witches but also airplanes somehow and they are cute (why is there no appearance perk in the jump?) and they fight aliens and it's World War II but this time the enemies are Aliens. That's about what I knew. I figured the war sucks and people dying were just given aspects of any good war story.Next is Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha which actually has some common elements since it's a military organization employing young girls as weapons. Though a much nicer setting.
>>97689799>Oh definitely not if I had to imagine. Its been a big journey for her before she met venti. Even if she does feel like she has a place now. With someone who might understand rather than midna or Ritsuka. There’s probably an offscreen conversation between them about her early days, and the doubts she felt.>I take that as a high compliment then! Thank you!Maybe not as high as it deserves, as I’ve said before I don’t like the tribulations. This works because it’s not being externally imposed, but is instead a realization born out of your own feelings.>I think any long lived being or immortal will have to accept such a thing at some point if they don't want to be miserable forever. That makes me think Immortal realm cultivators don’t interact with mortals as much, in part so they don’t have to be constantly losing friends.>I'm just going to save that write up for my reference material for Hylia going forward. Thank you.Glad you like it.
>>97689808>Next is Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha which actually has some common elements since it's a military organization employing young girls as weapons. Though a much nicer setting.Still probably not easy but at least it'll be nicer!I'll look forward to seeing it.
>>97689899>Still probably not easyNot them, but Nanoha is actually a very easy setting. There are characters who don’t have a Linker Core, and obviously won’t have powers from other jumps, which are the two capstone drawbacks. Despite this, they do just fine.
>>97689830>She’s very much someone you could see as having their own story.Definitely. I would like to explore that one day if I can maybe. I know you don't like the tribulations much but Im glad I was able to do it better.>That makes me think Immortal realm cultivators don’t interact with mortals as much, in part so they don’t have to be constantly losing friends.I could see that a little bit. They kinda have to interact with mortals a fair bit given the connective tissue between the divine and Mortal realm if the gods don't approach themselves in some way. But still I imagine losses do happen. Longevity potions can only do so much and mortal memory isn't exactly perfect either. I imagine there are immortal societies in some places though. Smaller but it'd be interesting to see one eventually. I could see some gods frequenting them on occasion.>Glad you like it.I do! You have a way of writing her that feels grand and powerful but also kind if a bit formal which suits the Goddess.Side note but on the topic of Hylia I've been thinking about her eventual inclusion.Of the eventual tour between venti and Hylia eventually. And maybe Venti coming thinking that Zelda is hiding something. But thinks its just something like being a runaway princess or something. And not... Hylia. >"Zelda": Alright, I have a confession. I haven't been entirely truthful with you.>Venti: Oh I kind of got the feeling that was the case. Go on>"Zelda": Well you see I'm actually Hylia>Venti:... what

>>97690106>Oh? How do you think it'd go? I'm curious.I’d probably start out going more towards the central region and study arrays for a bit, Heart Containering myself into becoming a Zelda in the process, and eventually join the civil service so I can work towards entering the imperial cultivation academy and triple cultivate. Once I reached the second stage and I was ready to strike out on my own, I’d travel around for a while and explore. After a while I’d head for the Emerald Sea and go adventuring there, and eventually set up on an island and rule it. I would of course leave once I reached the immortal realm, but I can’t say what I’d do at that point.>That makes sense. One little touch I added that I always liked was characters who originated from Golden Era (so Hylia, Link, the Golden Goddesses and the first Oracle Nayru) were actually written in a slightly different fashion. >>97695065Gonna get Manshoon'd.
>>97695065One of the strongest, easiest, and safest spells to get is Summon from Fable. It starts out as Giant Wasp, but it transforms into the strongest thing it can kill. Even in the game, at least one boss is included in that. With some of the perks we have or spell creation, sky's the limit.
>>97695584Manshoon?
>>97695681Epic 3.5 Wizard-Archmage who canonically got killed and replaced by his own clone. There's an 8th level spell called Clone in D&D that just straight up lets you grow a body in a tube that you can possess upon death, but it's also alive and mentally that person under a stasis effect. You also have to undo the stasis when you die with some preprogrammed method, or die permanently and awaken the clone to be independent. Shenanigans. Doesn't work on species that develop slowly. It does, but it takes extremely long times. Dragons can't use it. Whole plotline about that.
>>97695702To be specific, he was using AD&D's Clone spell. Manshoon's whole thing couldn't happen with 3e's Clone spell, since those clones just rot and die if the person they're a clone of isn't currently dead when they finish gestating. That said, 2e's clones aren't actually new beings. They're literally the same person, which is what causes the insanity and need to murder each other. It's ALSO why getting turned into a vampire was enough to break the need to murder each other, allowing there to be two surviving Manshoons
>>976959015e has the best clone spell, since you can set-it up anywhere you want, have any number of clones ready, can custom tailor the clone's appearances, and don't need to regularly maintain them

So this a more casual scene but I had fun imagining it. A look at their dynamic a bit and how things go on average for venti and vaati."Are you ready?" Vaati asks. Holding a basket of rocks under one arm as he looks over to his blindfolded friend."Yes." Venti affirms. Holding a greatsword in one hand, a slightly comical sight combined with the blindfold."Very well." The swordsman nods."You know usually this is done with fruit. And not done... blindfolded or with such a big sword""Fruits to rare to waste out here." The bard explains shaking his head."Besides a rock is not going to do much if it hits anyway. And the swords meant to be bulky to make it more difficult.""Well it's a unorthodox way to train but I won't reject the opportunity to see if I can't knock some sense into your head." The swordsman jokes before chucking a rock towards Venti. It soars through the air for a few moments before the edge of the bards blade cut through it."Lucky strike." Vaati remarks before chucking another. Only to see it be cut through as well, and then another."I'm beginning to suspect you can actually see through that rag." The stone thrower pauses as he dips into basket"Oh no, not at all." Venti says innocently whistling."My eyes are completely obscured. I see not but darkness. Woe is me.""But there's other ways to know what's going on.""I should of figured. You're cultivation is quite strange. Useful but strange." He throws another stone only for it to be cut."Strange... maybe. But still quite rewarding. Even if Psychic abilities will take some getting used to."The bard pauses. Deflecting a rock this time instead of simply cutting through it."Psychic abilities? Is that a sort of magic?"Vaati asks pausing the rocky assault for a moment.1/3
>>97697437"Well not really but its related! It comes from the same cultivation style. It's well... to put it simply it's a sort of mental power. It doesn't really rely on magic just mental strength but a lot of it can be more limited at least for where I'm at so far.""Not so great so far mostly just sensing things from where I am to... just a little further then where you're standing and being able to move things without actually touching them.""I still don't quite understand the whole Paths thing." The swordsman says taking a break as he looks out over the camp. In the distance one of the tribes' children waves at the two of them watching from a distance bored."Are they styles? Different philosophies? Because half the time you talk about essence and the other half magic and then other times its Qi that's important." "Oh, Have I not explained this?" Venti asks leaning against his sword. "No! You've explained aspects but not how it really comes together. That's what's confusing me." "Well there's no harm in giving you a rough rundown I guess." Venti pauses scratching his cheek."Can't get to into the reeds you understand but Cultivation in Hyrules divided into three different paths. Each one focusing on the mind, the body or the soul and elements. A cultivator can do one to three of them. Though It does go a lot slower the more you do. Having to divert your attention like that.""And you do all three?" Vaati guesses. "How long has that been going on for?" "Yeah, I do all three. I'm on the proverbial hard mode." The bard chuckles a bit at the self-chosen difficulty of such a path."As for how long... about 75 years?" "75 years!?" Vaatis eyes go wide as he throws a rock. The tri-cultivator chuckling a bit but actually missing this time as it bounces off him."Hahahaha yeah... I think I look good for a old man no?" Venti asks grinning as the missed rock floats back up into the air. Beginning to orbit the bard.2/3
>>97697437"Hmmph. Well you are a cultivator. I'd question if it was even working if you did look you're age." The Human mutters. Throwing another stone only for it to pause in the air, just hanging there rather then being sliced."Though If we were in Zhiguo you'd be halfway to having people actually take you seriously as you are. Not that you'd probably survive to get to this point." "Well I do consider myself very fortunate I ended up here rather than anywhere else." The bard sighs as he catches another stone telekinetically. It joining its brother in circling around him."Yeah well, sadly we can't all be so lucky." Vaati sighs chucking another stone that meets a similar fate to the others."I'd make a joke about just needing to make the whole world Hyrule to fix that but... yeah." Venti sighs thinking."I'm glad you've made your way to us though." He smiles looking in Vaatis direction."Even if you are a bit rough at times. If you do want to come West with us. You're more than welcome to."The taller of the two smiles for just a moment at that"I could be convinced to. If there was worth in it." He mumbles quietly, two more stones in rapid succession, Join the orbit of many tiny satellites around the bards head."Heh... well I'll see if I can't convince you on the value of coming with us." "We're see if you do The training goes on for a while. Their able to get up to nine rocks floating shakily around the cultivator before attempting to snatch the tenth was just splitting his attention to much and it sends all of them to the ground."Ah well." He grins. Reaching up to undo the blind fold. Blinking his teal eyes in the afternoon light."Nines not so bad for right now. Want to come with me for my performance tonight? I've been trying to learn the violin." The bard offers cheerfully. stuffing the blindfold away"Just as long as you don't play total garbage." The human warns."Of course not! I only play the highest quality of garbage.3/3

Before that he lived in one of the city's on the edge of the steppe.Though between vaati and minerva. The gang might need to get a bigger pocket manse soon. >>97697792>there are standards a Khan must uphold. If she lives in humble dwellings, that reflects poorly on her tribe.I suppose thats true. But your right that time might help fix that.Other key events that are probably happening soon but I'm not sure If I want to scene if only because they'd be a lot.1. The gang throws a surprise party for Midna when she reaches the third stage.2. Venti teaches vaati a bit of alchemy. Vaati becomes more xiao like/Hylian in appearance. (I'm fine just having it happen off screen admittedly)3.The taking up forging and eventually trying to make a pseudo cannon to keep in his Mindscape to use as a attack. Vaati is surprisingly helpful here with knowing metal working.4. Venti starts trying to be better moral support for Minerva and continue to be for Midna and Ritsuka with their cultivation. 5 Venti finishes Birth of delusion. (Much further down the timeline before he leaves the steppe.) Now has to deal with the feeling of constantly producing magic and ends up developing astral projection.

Maybe running water to if Venti can rig that.>Really, I’m not sure you could. I see some comedic potential there but also just good development. Also side lore thought but: I'm thinking Venti and Hylia do travel around a bit still after she reveals herself.Mostly around central Hyrule. Think I might have Hylia be the one who created Loftwings as a product of her early days as a goddess and they visit one of the few places they inhabit. >There's more than one jump which lets a first-time jumper achieve omnipotence, straight up, no downsides. If a Jumper *could* achieve that, then why *wouldn't* they?As a side note, this is why I invented Creative Mode and Long-Haul Mode. It wasn't to let Jumper speedrun their way to power. It was the exact opposite - if chain-failure was no longer a worry, then it removed any need on the Jumper's part to speedrun. The scenic route becomes a viable alternative if it doesn't actually increase your risk of busting out.

My jumper is going to be mindfucked in to being loyal to a nutjob, Even though my jumper will not want to see a dimension destroyed they can't rebel against Precia. I think Nanoha had a tough enough time dealing with Fate, even if you weren't the strongest thing in the setting you might screw things up.
IN the myths of the ancient Egyptians, the god ANUBIS would weigh a man's heart against a FEATHER that symbolised MA'AT (trvth and jüstice). A heart LIGHT from sin passed this INTERROGATION, while a HEAVY heart was fed to AMMUT, the DEVOURER. WELL, whether Gohan would pass or get SMASHED is ENTIRELY dependent on your value system. Under modern JOBrality one could ARGUE this worthless fucking jobber never accomplished enough to outweigh the FEATHER, while a MEDIEVAL interpretation would deem Gohan damned by SLOTH. How much of a clanker is your Jumper, /JC/?
Do companions/followers age by default? It's not something that comes up very often, since 10 years isn't really a dramatic passage of time in the average lifespan. I'm working on a jump where you can get a bunch of monster followers that only live about 7-10 years though, so there's a very real chance they would repeatedly grow old and die during each jump.I could just say their lifespans are extended due to your jumper nature, I guess.
>>97705332As I understand it, though It's been a while since I read the rules, Companions age reset to around your starting age at the beginning of the jump. They do age in jump just like normal people unless they have a perk or something that says otherwise. I would guess if you are in a jump long enough for a companion to age out (die of old age) they would become unavailable until the next jump though that is purely head canon. Followers I think is kind of up to the jumper actually as they are sort of an add on not part of the original rules.
>>97705311I know I am going to regret this but what is a clanker? Is it someone who has sex with robots? I would assume from your image that it is.
>>97705332Companions and pets default to aging at the same rate you do. So if you're a kid, your companions/pets would be kids, and if you're an old man, they'd be old
>>97705484>tmw aging is chronological rather than proportional>jumper starts as a centuries-old elf/vamp/dragon/robot>all of their non-import friends are dust in the wind because they were normal humies or housepets
>>97705371Clanker is multiple things, it can be the robot or person who fucks robots.
I think I may have been here too long. An idea came to mind to give a sentient weapon a personality that makes everyone ask, Why does your weapon scream about hating Rice, and what is Jobbing. It's a terrible idea but a part of me wants to do it in a perverse sort of way as sort of comic relief. Pic obviously unrelated.
>>97705568>Why does your weapon scream about hating RiceBecause it's BASED. The RICE COOKER uses HEAT and HIGH PRESSURE to COOK pasty, pale little granules of WASTED POTENTIAL into a delicious FEAST. And is affordable by the average family.>what is JobbingAn undesirable state of shrunken DECREPITUDE that the RICE COOKER will THROUGHLY boil out of any bitchy little granules it encounters>It's a terrible idea butNo, it's a great idea. In fact it's the only worthwhile idea. Do it. Build the Gohan Broiler 9000 and then build an entire malevolent kitchen's worth of living weapons that cleave, dismantle, stir, mix, drain, strain and can jobbers.
