The runaway success of Warhammer gave birth to the modern wargame that's suitable for both narrative and competitive play. Every single wargame on the market owes its existence to GW. Either they were made to directly compete with GW (Warhmahords, Infinity, Conquest) or can exist only because GW created the ecosystem and environment for them to thrive. In this light, it's fucking infuriating that all you do is shit on GW all day, every day. GW should have your admiration and respect for allowing this hobby to exist in the first place.

I buy a mini if it looks good and belongs to an army I want to play, that's it that's all they deserve. I'd buy their paint, their paint's good, but it's expensive as shit and there are paints that are cheaper and just as good (Vallejo) so I buy that instead. GW isn't anywhere near the worst company, they apparently treat their employees alright and they have good models, but they're also overpriced and the game rules vary from alright to trash.
You are right but just because something was once good and created cool things doesn't mean it's free from criticism. Warhammer became popular because it was cool and fun. The original designers made it cool and fun. The modern designers, ie marketing team, are making it lame and gay. GW shouldn't get a free pass on faggifying the hobby just because 30 years ago they weren't cucked

GW was really the first company to pivot wargaming into a boutique hobby. They compare more to a company like Gucci or Armani in terms of how they do their business and see their market. That being said, they pushed the Hobby to it's current era. We went from chunky metal historical models to what we have today. Kind of a blend of wargaming, gunpla and painting.I am not sure if GW will be the company to take the hobby into the next era, however. Europe kind of sucks for digital innovation.
