>>97667195The problem is that even with 3 or 4 coats some parts of the model, like textured edges, won't be completely covered and the basecoat will bleed through. You'll end up with 10 coats of paint if you want a smooth and even coat, and by then your starting to lose details

>>97667231Thanks! I used tamiya dark brown panel liner on the yellow. It's an enamel paint so you need to stuff around with several layers of varnish before and afterwards but the effect is very striking and difficult to achieve with acrylics.
