Legitimate question: Do the few male Howling Banshees there are get a flat chest armour plate or do they just get the standard breasted plate and wear it though it's hollow? I think the latter would be cool to keep the outward image of a bunch of vicious female super soldiers killing people. Because if a dude joins them to begin with it's because he exhibits the finesse and precision they want, so the guy would already be acting kinda feminine, no?I don't know where I could look into to get an official answer to this inquiry
>>97670817Elf slave, what do?
There is already a general.
>>97670817iirc its boobplate for everyone, might be as far back as Epic Renegades but its been a while.
>>97670817Aspect Warriors are all about embodying a "aspect" of Khaine, the Eldar's war god. Banshees are a specific aspect of Khaine that has feminine traits. Therefore, to embody Khaine as the Howling Banshee, you take on those traits.
>>97670817Its not explicitly stated in the old RT era white dwarf article but I think we can easily extrapolate from>there are many female aspect warriors and they are not all Howling Banshees>there are no boobplate aspects otherwise so they take on flat chestedness,>thus eldar men would be taking on booba while following the banshee path.
Path of the warrior shows all suits of armor are handed down from previous owners the new owner has the potential to resonate with, so you would get boobplate for everyone. Acting feminine is not required, that's your peace face, you only need to resonate with the war face while you wear the mask.
>>97670867elf thread is not a general. all people in the thread agree is not a general.
>>97670867This is not /tgg/
>>97670817Standard boob plate. It doesn't matter the gender of the wearer, the armour is designed and shaped to the aspect.Banshees as an aspect have a feminine aspect, even if the participants do not, so the armour has the hair and the boob plate.
>>97671232>>97672719I have always understood it as that. The amor isnt crafted to the ser requests but according to the aspecto traditions. Its like kyoshi warriors in avatar or something like that.
But do the male banshees get pegged though?
>>97672265>>97672289based and correct statements.
>>97672853More extreme even. Given how Aspects work, putting on the war mask basically overrides their normal identity with their Aspect one.In terms of identity or character (if not 'under-the-hood' biology), if they are in Banshee armour, they ARE female.
>>97672950Not that it really matters since the only thing you think about while wearing the war mask is war, period.
>>97672944>those were drawn in 2014N-No, it cannot be...
>>97673155Well, yeah, but no. They're not thinking of makeup or boys or shit. But they still have an identity and capacity for communication and downtime activities. You don't just pop the war mask on and off at the end of the day like the literal mask. Hell, exarchs can't take it off at all. They have to stay a Banshee their whole lives.
>>97670867I made this thread because I wanted people to talk about Elves from /tg/ universes specifically, and their lores and games and minis and whatnot while on that thread they are just talking about the race as a whole in anime, manga, literature, movies, etc.
>>97673174>You don't just pop the war mask on and off at the end of the day like the literal mask. Anon, read path of the warrior, that's literally the case. You are not in war form until you wear the mask. You not being able to get out of the war form even after removing the mask makes you an exarch. Masks are the whole point of it, because eldar rely on them to shield their true self from the extremes of emotions that plunging into a path brings. Masks are so powerful that human miners that found some harlequin masks were compelled to wear them and started reenacting a play.
>>97671001>>97671232>>97672192>>97672719Good, that's very good. That's very, very based. Thank you for your help. Howling Banshees just became my new favourite Aeldari
>>97673211I know this is meant to be a subtle "I am liking this because of crossdressing fetish" post, but Eldar lore is genuinely fucking peak stuff in what can otherwise be a very drab and monotone setting. That they're only ever inserted to job to space marines or (even more cruelly) guardsmen, is a travesty. If you wrote eldar books with half the plot armour of space marine books they'd sell better than hot cakes.
>>97675008Said it before and I will say it again: Eldar make for great protagonists.
>>97675008Believe it or not I actually like it in a non-sexual way, both in them Banshees and for myself too. Don't ask me why cause I have no idea. I know for a fact I am not a transexual and I experience no arousal whatsoever doing it either, I just genuinely fucking love being girly sometimes. It makles me very happy. That's why I asked for the actual lore instead of just making a joke post or something like that. I thought people were joking about male Howling Bashees wearing hollow boob plate armour and obviously now I know they weren't and it's a serious part of their aspect's identity. What are the chances of that? My favourite faction has a unit that I didn't even know encapsulates this extremely specific odd experience I live with down to a T. It's honestly really fucking cool to me.What I mean with all this is to say that I'm genuinely fascinated by this little bit of Eldar lore completely seriously with no fetishes or shitpost involved. It makes them feel all the more bizarre and alien to human culture and it's exactly why I love them. They get more and more unique the more you learn about them.
>>97675085objectivly correct but GW always shafts them in favour of what small kiddies and man children like (space Marines)
>>97675085>>97675008BL lacks any writers that are capable of actually portraying the eldar properly in the first place. The Eldar are superhuman space elves that live for thousands of years and are canonically far more intelligent than humans, and experience a range of emotions beyond human experience. The midwits at BL are just too retarded to ever portray the Eldar well.
>>97673176In the games I run, I usually give elves animal ears and animal tails, and reserve the traditional pointy-eared look for half-elves.Elves already have nature-themed associations, so I do not find this to be too great a stretch. And yes, I often wind up giving them touches of East Asian culture, mostly China due to gacha brain rot.
>>97670817Other people already answered: boobplate but hollow. However I like to think maybe they have some where the boob is solid wraithbone for the men.Aeldari don't have body fat anyway so they're rather small boobas, which is also why they can probably be smooshed into male aspect plate. I always figured that the Howling Banshees exaggerated proportions because of GW's sculpts That being said, there is no reason why the Eldar dude that joined the howling banshee would act effeminate (more than an Elat in general I mean). It's more about your affinity on how-to-destroy-shit. Your anger makes you wanna fly around and drop turds? Swooping hawk. Wanna burn shit to crisp? Fire dragon. Wanna scream and do melee? Howling Banshee Etc.
>>97675008>>97675421I WILL enter the BL submissions until they hire me to write Eldar. Then I will fight Gav Thorpe on the morning of the first sunrise of spring, in a duel to the death.
>>97670817Not even for any kind of coomer reasons but Eldar designs are just peak. Howling Banshees look so badass. I really wish Eldar got more love and focus from GW.
>>97679324Yeah I should have specified I meant feminine in like finesse and elegance on battle and such not in like acting faggy all the time or something like that lol
>>97673195I always interpreted that - and before the Path novels, come to it - as being both physical and metaphorical. The physical mask on the helmet is part of the preparation ritual, but the main part ("aspect", even, heh) is the mental disassociation; wearing (masking) the personality of a warrior over one's own so that you don't get your jollies from the thrills and agonies of mortal combat. Induced schizophrenia, essentially. Harlequins aren't the only method actors in the species, it's just that the Banshee genderedness (? is that a word?) is more obvious than the others.>>97679324Also worth noting. You go to an Aspect that calls to you, that can teach a lesson your soul needs. Elaborate anger management, in a way.>>97679428It's well known that GW was fond of paying homage to 2000AD (and mythology in general), and that comic had a number of kick-ass women in it (pic rel), though really the Banshees are just riffing on the same Celtic mythology Slaine was anyway.
