What are your favourite cliches and/or tropes in fantasy ttrpgs anons? Be it made by authors of systems or GMs

I don't care what anyone says, "You all meet in a tavern" is certified kino and I am sick of these faggot redditors who need their "expectations subverted" acting like it isn't.

Strangers meet in a tavern a the behest of a financier, old friends gathering at the tavern. I agree it's good.

Cheesy or not, I also like the good ol' "Save the princess"-cliché.
Just plain heroic stuff.

Hate this one.

No, not because it's trite. But because it's used in games that would need the party to trust themselves or at least have some dynamics, not "whatever, let's just go kill some monsters with people I didn't even know yesterday".

I like a lot of the classic cliches like the Mad Wizard in a tower, "Everyone meets in a local town's tavern" is classic and make sense. (In real life most people would most likely meet up at a church or a tavern. Especially if they weren't from said area.) Most hybrid races aren't well liked outside of half-elves in most settings.

However I do hate many of the "modern" forced troupes they been trying to add into fantasy from the dumb villian isn't evil but misunderstood. Pushing every small town, village, even race to look like a liberal art school made ad with everyone being a different race and creed but "living together in peace." (Often without a white man or if they do have one he is a gay beta or evil.) As well as making fantasy races humans with a random supernatural feature and can be every human race just with that attach. Rather than make a race of "Black Elves" you have a "white high elf and a "black high elf" but they're not the different race they're BOTH high elves. It's lazy pandering to the woke. I mean I am working on my own system and I split species and race up for that reason. Not just like two or two species do this all of them do. Even the humans

I don't really care about clichés or tropes in games, as long as I get to play a game.
