>TQNecromunda, even if I've had 14 fighters die this campaign
>TQ MESBGSpeaking of which. I will be fighting Aragorn (Strider) today. Does anyone have any tips? I am relatively new and my opponent will be playing Defenders of Helms Deep with Theoden, Haldir and Aragorn. His troops will be a mix of Rohan warriors and Elves. I won't lie Aragorn kind of intimidates me as ive never faced him before. Attached is my list.
Kill Team 4 eva
>>97687864>TQ Necromunda. I am a complete Necromunda fanboy. I do like Kill Team as well, but I suck at it. Kill Team lads, do many of you make your own terrain? Or do you mostly stick with the official terrain sets?
>>97687864>TQWarcrys just about the only one I’ve enjoyed and found memorable. I think I’ll homebrew something around the game that can brach off of it at some point. Would have liked to enjoy aeronautica but that game was genuinely doa.
>>97687864I like the idea of Warcry but I've had way more fun playing Kill Team despite it being a more WACy game
Hey guys, looking for the mesbg match play book. Does anyone have the goods?
>>97689692>make your own terrain? OrMix of both. Many teams where only available with terrain at the start so it is "If you already have it why not use it" but we still make our own terrain becasue using only official terrain is to boring. Sadly just because the rounds are so limited and how cover works, you cannot use to much/complex terrain because you would not be able to meet your opponent then or shoot at all. Also i always wanted to play necromunda but no one wants to play it becasue "it is to complicated".
What's the best 3d printer for 40k scale? I've heard that resin is best for detail, but can that do multi colors like other types?
Hello gentlemen, Guard Newbfag Anon here. Mentioned about 2 weeks ago that I am starting Blood Bowl at my work with one of the disabled fellas I care for that LOVES football. I have been going over the rules with him and so far, he's been having a bit of trouble breaking his mind out of the rules of irl gridiron and accessing the abstracts of Blood Bowl, but I have faith that he will get it with continued exposure and encouragement. I spoke to some of the upper management to see if we can't get some sort of budget set aside for him to pick out his own team to choose from for me to put together for him to paint at the table (he's still tarded so sprue cutter/xacto/glue is out of the question). Also got some Spike! Journal and Almanac issues ordered because I have really enjoyed reading the battle reports for Blood Bowl in White Dwarf.Desu.
>>97690022Resin has more details yes, no it can not do multicolor in a controlled way in one part. Filament printers are usually easier to use and maintain, cheaper and better for bigger things like terrain. But using multicolor for prints (especially models) is .... let's say useless.
>>97688129The Dwarves of Moria cinched a very very close game, winning 5-4 against a very nice opponent. I misplayed quite a bit especially around Aragorn, he is insanely good. I kind of want to start an army with him as the general now.
>>97687864Necromunda and Warcry.Love Necromunda for the crunch, the narrative of it Love Warcry because it's quick, simple yet strategic and can have 3 games in a session
>>97689943I am the opposite. When I started I felt Warcry was too simple and enjoyed KT more. I've now turned around and hate KT LoS WAAC tournament bullshit and much prefer playing Warcry
>>97690022Depends on your needs. If you want mini-level detail you realistically need resin, but if you want terrain id go fdm, the detail is good enough and its durable to the point where you can literally throw your pieces into a box and nothing will chip or scratchpic related is some fdm bits i printed at 0.16 as details for a larger piece
>>97687864>TQKill Team for me.>>97689692So far no, I've been using GW terrain (though not the KT-specific stuff, just general GW terrain) for everything up until now with one small exception being a crater I made at the end of last year. I've been looking at making custom terrain more though, because I think I could make more appropriate terrain than what I can get from GW at this point. Just need to finish my current projects and find some source of plasticard.
>>97689692if you replace the streets and cars with rubble that board becomes possibly the best necromunda piece ive ever seen.Usually the more complex boards focus on a central tower structure, or are a series of platforms on one or two walls, which while fun, are not good representations of the underhive as described. This board, minus the cars and streets of course, has a good mix of broken infrastructure and improvised "trash" that matches descriptions of collapsed domes, an uneven rubble "ground" would make it perfect. I especially like the way that larger tower structure is topped off with mismatched internal piping, really sells the broken infrastructure look rather than appearing to be a cutaway abstracted for tabletop.
>KillTeam for me, but pretty new to tabletop in general. Started playing in February.Making things is fun, mostly play with the volkus terrain at the moment. I made a crater and my mother is laser printing some trenches. She has like a 3000$ laser printer for her craft business.
>>97692403>New to tabletop>Starts with Shit TeamPoor soul, how I wish life wasn't so harsh for you.
>>97691571It isn't mine. Its from this guy's bloghttps://thenickeninja.wordpress.com/how-to/sector-03/I agree; the tangled mayhem style definitely hits the Necromunda vibe better than anything else ive seen. Im trying to mimic it now by building some multi level pieces and making a stock of walkways I can place wherever.
>>97692403Brother get into anything that isn’t kill team or 40k. They will ruin what wargames are supposed to be for you, and soon you’ll be a WAAC husk that no one other than other husks will want to play against.
>>97692403Drop Kill Team asap unless it's the only game played in your area. If you don't have any local Kill Team scene, you should definitely give other games a try. Fuck, OPR Firefight feels like a masterpiece of game design compared with the current edition of Kill Team which shows how low the bar is.
>>97687864>What is your specialist game of choice?Aeronautica Imperialis, tragically
>>97687864Haven't played Kill Team in several years, not since the end of KT21. /ktg/ appears to be dead (inshallah), so I guess I'll ask here. Is there much to learn for KT24? Can I basically just read my team's rules and the core stuff is all the same?
>>97693194KT24 is very similar, but that's also to some detriment since some rules that look similar on the surface are subtly different. Vantage points, for example, just always give cover from people below you now.
>>97693437>Vantage points, for example, just always give cover from people below you now.People had argued that in the past. I guess it's what some wanted. Kind of retarded tho.
Kill Team niggers need to fuck off back to their own general? Not our problem if it's slow.
>>97693628Sorry, there was no /ktg/ so I had to ask here.
>>97693796I'm not sure if it's regulars being averse to any change in status quo or just trolling, but it's pretty safe to ignore anyone shouting angrily at KT.
>>97693834Make your own general again we don’t like your kind here
>>97693796You're good dude. Some KillTeam chad fucked the OP's wife(male) or something.
>>97693628https://mega.nz/folder/0a10kTyb#Kro6lhFGnt9hmfuJCT3BKQHere's the kt mega fwiw
>>97687864Any BFG chads in this thread care to answer a model question for a humble 3d modeler? How long is a Chaos cruiser miniature in milimeters?
>>97694742>ChaosDon't play BFG but by 40k lore definition there are no set dimensions or form for anything Chaos, all extant minis are horrible depictions of Chaos because they are so rigidly uniform.
>>97694742Same as an imperium cruiser
Printing an empire and orc army at 1000 pts with my p2s bambu printer. So far 2 crossbows and 2 halberdiers. Next up 2 more units of halberdiers.
>>97695341>WarmasterVGH. One day I will live in a city with at least 1 other person that wants to play Warmaster with me. One day it will happen.
>>97681344there are an absolute shitload of free stls out there, just search for "fleet" on most printing aggregators. There's also a BF:G "starter kit" out there that you can find with minimal googling. Specialist Arms finally took the forums down but I believe their rules links are still up, including the 2007 and 2010 FAQs as well as some other useful stuff.>>97680565My dude there were entire battleship squadrons in the handful of naval brawls large enough for that to be a thing. Keep in mind that comms was limited to line-of-sight for a very long time. Even after wireless sets were cheap enough to be useful, they still couldn't reliably coordinate maneuvers and ranging without some kind of visual confirmation for decades. Doctrine struggled to keep up with the new technology and everyone being broke-ass motherfuckers still putting 40-year-old hoopties to sea in the 1930s.>>97687965Oldcromunda. Even if there are more recent games that blow it out of the water. Coincidentally, my most violently-hated specialist games are neo Kill Team and Necromunda, because they're designed like absolute shit.
>>97693834Ten bucks says its the same guy who spergs out about Venators in Necromunda.
Anyone got an bloodbowl advice for playing gnomes? I am so used to normal stunty teams that they seem hard to get used to. I either play them too passively or too aggressively.
>>97695939>same guy who spergs out about Venators in Necromunda.Im one of those guys and I dont mind it 2bh
Kt fags should stop being lazy and make their own thread, told them many times it's for their own good because there're quite a few mentally ill people in this thread. Maybe KT fags are like abused whores who just love crawling back here to get abused again and again.
>>97692443>>97693014What's wrong with Kill Team? Are older editions better?
>>97696453>>97693628A kill team player did fuck your gf and you never got over it LOL
>>97694742Over a decade old but probably accurate enough. https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/621879.pageA few posts down there's a workable list of mm:meters you can get references from.
>>97696704Wrong with current kill team is:-Teambuilding or equipment is nearly not available, it is mostly just a blueprint with (if at all) small things to tweak at most.-Some of the rules (mostly cover and line of sight) are more hideous and complicated then they need to be and if you play them as written can suck a lot.-the game is mostly meant for fast quick competitive play, that draws a lot of toxic competitive players. (also makes any narrative play an unofficial homebrew)well that are the major big 3 flaws. many complain about rulesbloat and team rotation. Team rotation is part of the "blueprint team design shit" and rulesbloat kinda as well but also not THAT bad if i really compare it with other games and if you are not someone that really needs to know every team (you will not encounter most teams anyway) and i think necromunda or 40k has similar rulesbloat.
>>97696704Inarguably, the new version is made for mouth breathers that can't measure so they need shapes to represent units of movement, and who can't list build so they need prebuilt forces. The original version was the best, it wasn't a standalone product or anything it was just a nifty rules guide that could be applied to any edition of 40k you prefer allowing you to take models as individuals rather than squads, meant to be built at low point values. That's all kill team ever needed to be, a simple way to take troops one at a time instead of in groups of 5 with absolutely no troop requirements or contingency requirements.want a centurion sergeant, a single sternguard space marine, 2 scouts and a terminator? go ahead, they're Your Dudes.
>>97696805>need shapesThat was last edition, we are back to -" measures. That with the prebuild is sadly still true. The first edition also had issues but if you mean the one i think you mean, yes it was the best in raw idea at least.
>>97696834>the one i think you meanthe one that wasn't a product. not the one with the commanders and elites releases that had space wolves as only codex marines,
>>97696844Yea that is the one i thought of as well. It was a white dwarf article or similar right?
>>97696704It lacks listbuilding, and some rules get abused by a waacfag opponent. If you play among decent people/friends, the second isn't an issue, and the former is a shame but usually seen as a fair tradeoff for the gameplay improvement by a majority of players.
>>97690192Very nice models anon
>>97696901I do not clearly recall, I just know it wasn't standalone.
>>97697011Anon probably refereed to the ancient edition of Kill team that allow to make santa claus and big foot.
>>97697042that looks nothing like what I am recalling.I very clearly described it.>take whatever version of 40k>take models as individual dudes instead of squadsThat's it.
>>97697069Maybe you are thinking of Heralds of Ruins. It was kind of a mix of the old 4th edition combat patrol and kill team rules (the one with klaxon tokens)
>>97697011>>97697042Nah google Kill team 2004. That should be the one.
>>97697164No it was called Kill Team, thats why it is being mentioned, it is THE first edition and it was just a few pages.
Is LOTR Middle Earth: Strategy Battle Game the most LOLFAIL product GW has ever put out? I have never seen anyone talking about this game besides occasionally using the terrain for battle boards. How the fuck is the Fellowship a made-to-order limited run only product, at nearly $90?
>>97697270It was part of the 40k 4th edition core rulebook IIRC, it was the first because it was called Kill Team, but also it allowed you to ick and choose individual models from /almost/ any unit type, anything with 3 or more wounds was excluded, bikes and jetbikes werent permitted as wargear and no psykers IIRC, you also had to pick all your units from one codex, though I'm sure any reasonable playgroup would be fine with mixing allied forces.
>>97697635There was a precursor called "40k in 40 miutes" that was a white dwarf article about single squad vs single squad games that would eventually be revived as combat patrol, and the 4th edition 40k Kill Team did get addendums in a few white dwarf articles >>97697042 picrelated being one of them
>>97697270>>97697164I'm talking about combat patrol and kill team from 4th edition rulebookAs you can see in the 4th edition table of content. Heralds of Ruins was a fan made thing that basically took elements from things like >>97697042 and the old Combat Patrol and Kill Team rules to make something similar to Necromunda and Shadow War Armageddon
>>97697485GW is just making sure they still retain the rights they don't want it to revert the Tolkien estate, and then for Asmodee to make their own Middle-earth War Game
>>97697485The original release in 2001 was massive, actually. It was a flagship product for half a decade, with White Dwarfs from the time being often 50-70% MESBG features. It then petered out, joining other specialist games. They tried a relaunch in 2012 with the hobbit movies, but it didn't gain much traction. The movies being shit didn't help either. Then in 2018 out of the blue they released a new edition, which was actually very good. It got some momentum going, and we even had dedicated generals for awhile here too.But then in late 2024 they pushed out an unneeded new edition with the usual nu-GW chicanery of model-restricted loadouts and such, and the game has been on a decline since then.So definitely not a LOLFAIL, but a giant killed by GW mismanagement.
>>97696898As a wrecka main I acknowledge this superior tier list
>>97698108>Then in 2018 out of the blue they released a new edition, which was actually very good. It got some momentum going, and we even had dedicated generals for awhile here too.It was so wild to have a sanctioned MESBG leaker here. I wonder if GW was testing if 4chan is a valid digital space for controlled leaks or was it just a random employee sharing PDFs and future releases with us just for fun.
My blood bowl teams:OrcsUndeadHumansDark elves. What should I get next?
Opinions on the Firestorm? It was my go-to escort in the armada games but any time I use it on the table I'd really rather have a Dauntless
>>97698518Clearly you need some Dwarfs.
>>97698518doesn't matter, just go through the other canon 20 like a checklist, then do the secret league and/or the stunty leeg.
>>97696704It’s tailored for the lowest types of wargamers (comp fags). It’s probably the one game with a community that’s broadly worse than 40k, and that’s saying something. When you go play kill team pick up games be ready to know every rule because it attracts the exact types of people that will try and cheat you to win even when there’s literally no prize or reason to do so.
>>97697485It’s not you retard. They are doing an MTO of the older all metal fellowship. The plastic fellowship is sold normally, it’s actually sold out right now. All the MTO’s are just older metal versions of existing kits. It’s not very popular but it still is the best game GW sells rules wise.
Anyone got Bastions of Law? About to run a new campaign and of course a new player wants to start with Enforcers.
>>97699585https://litter.catbox.moe/3yky2tohsf0oq11t.pdf
>>97699585>a playerYou can always choose a gang.
>>97698790Good cheap lance choice. It gives you the movement that a Dauntless lacks.
Would someone mind posting a link for Spires of Primus? I tried the old links from January (4plebs) but they are dead now.
>>97698967I do wonder who is cashing out £400+ for the terrain in the MTO

In BFG, how viable is it to play a Demiurg fleet? I see them tucked away in the Xenos fleet roster but as I have no real BFG experience I don't know what they're good at or what their issues are. I see 3 hulls, a lot of launch assets and what looks like a lot of firepower. Is that enough to play them as a full faction?
>>97703457Their capital ships are fairly tough. The amount of them you have to take to get access to a decent amount of escorts could be an issue though. However you've got a lot of launch bays to use attack craft to knock down other ordnance. How you should be thinking however is 'i want to play a demiurg fleet' and leave it at that. My chaos fleet is as many escorts as I can cram in. It's not viable....but it's a lot of fun.Here...have my space hulk.
>>97703457So these are canonically Votann craft now, right?
>>97703670Amazing
>>97703689Kind of. Demiurg have been confirmed to be one of the many Leagues. Also the Stronghold and Bastion have been confirmed to be typical Votann ships.Pic is a fanmade design in an attempt to align the classic Demiurg style to more modern Votann.
Is Legions Imperialis as bad as it seems? Between the morale forcing your hordes of dudes to run away towards the board edge, the list building and the gimping of Knights/Titans the game seems pretty "meh" honestly
>>97704220I enjoyed it honestly, it just took a long time to play and rend was fucking scuffed when I played which made any kind of assault pointless unless you had it
Recommendations on things to buddy up with a vengeance grand cruiser? I have a dictator also in the fleet so I was thinking some combination of tyrants and gothics
>>97698790>Opinions on the Firestorm? It was my go-to escort in the armada games but any time I use it on the table I'd really rather have a DauntlessSplashing one or two into a Sword squadron is a great way to soak up a few extra roster points. They're basically dedicated ship-hunters, not so great against other Escorts. If you're planning to punch a big squadron out on the flanks to bootyblast an enemy capital ship they can definitely get work done on Lock On. Also depends on opponent - they're one of your few usable tools against Necron escorts and Demiurg but with Elves and to a lesser extent Orks or Tau they're basically wasted points.Falchions are similarly good for splashing one or two into a squadron of Swords or Cobras. You can use the single torpedo tube to pop incoming torpedo waves (or intercept enemy CAP defense to let your Cobra's torps through) and strip the fighters off of enemy bombing waves. They also have a 50-50 chance of making Thunderhawk waves go away. Problem is you basically have to Reserve them anywhere but Armageddon, and Armageddon has access to the Marine escorts for similar prices.
Took a break from painting my tomb world today and managed to (almost) fully paint the entire nu-aegis defense line set I also had in one go. I placed a banner on one piece which remains blank for now but once I decide what goes on it I'll be filling it in.I've grown addicted to making these little freehand decorations on terrain and man did I have space to add a lot of them on this set.
>>97704220It's alright, unfortunately game is more fun with xenos and chaos BS, not just Imperium gunline. And don't bother with Knights list because the fucking arnigger cost 60 for 3.
>>97704932Topped off the terrain set after today's game with freehanding a fake gold icon on the banner, probably my most ambitious freehand work yet.The game itself was a real>policeman: "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, ANYTHING YOU SAY CAN AND WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU">Giant snake: "hissssss"of a time.
Are Space Marines in Necromunda yet
>>97707866They have been since the OG, rules there for space marines, chaos, orks, eldar, etc...
>>97707866They've been for a while
>>97703689I thought demiurg were teal alien space dwarves. What have I missed?
>>97706894Lovely looking banner.
>>97708842GW devs cant be arsed to learn the lore so it is endlessly retconned
>>97704220It's a dumbed-down version of Epic 2nd ed, which is one of the best Epics. it's not bad, the quality of the inspiration shines through GWs best attempts to shittify it. and if you like it, it's pretty easy to just move on to the community maintained version of 2nd after your demo.
>>97697485quite the opposite. to date it's the only non-sportsball 28mm game they've made that doesn't suck.
Where is the go to place for Blood Bowl results from past tournaments/leagues?
