How do you feel about the system compared to allies from previous editions?
Does any kind soul have 2ed Behemat tome?I have 3ed but I am unable to find 2ed for quite some time.My deep thanks!
>>97697172>Do you use any RoR's in your army? How do you feel about the system compared to allies from previous editions?I like to run Ush in other armys even if he can't really do much as a 2 caster unless you've got generic endless spells which is annoying. Other than that I usually run the Drogg Fortkicker for my monster mash lists.I think it's a neat system though having specific regiments for not just "big centerpiece model and like a unit" are annoying. I get certain combos would be annoying but I'd enjoy a bit more choice for RoR. (Honestly if they had more unique effects too, like Skarbrand just killing anything he's standing next to, ally or enemy is neat)
>>97695891>>97696040>>97696049I'd post it, its just that it has two layers on it is all, i'd just have to strip it right now, just moreso annoyed with the fact that like a dumbass i decided to just use a contrast on the base layer
>>97697172>TQ>Do you use any RoR's in your army?not really. Probably wont unless I can convert them to look organic in my armies.> How do you feel about the system compared to allies from previous editions?with the loss of allies, I....guess they should be more capitalized on now. I've only ever really seen really meta weighing ones like the nurgle and the darkoath brand and callis and toll reigments of renown tho. At least from what I can remember.
>>97697196That's kind of my issue with RoR as well, I appreciate it having some extra rules, usually more flavourful, over just allies. But it bums me out that a lot of them are like, here take these 700+ points worth of elite units, probably including a major named character too". I want more shit like the kb one where it's just a couple of crossbows y'know. Should've been an addition to the ally system too, not effectively a replacement. I know the latter had some issues (remember kroak?) but this kind of feels like a throwing the baby out with the bathwater situation.
>>97697313I think having a more mix and match merc system would be fun, a dogs of war style "take whatever and mix it" army book would be fun desu but I doubt GW would do it.Even having a system like "You get 10 gold stars! A unit of infantry is worth 2 stars, this garbo foot hero is 1 star, this really good foot hero is 4, Big Named Centerpiece can ONLY be used with these army's and is worth 10 stars, big generic centerpiece is worth 10 stars" also just let the wizards cast either their own factions spells or the faction they're joining. Bringing a wizard over who can't do shit feels bad.
>>97697393I think they tried that with the darkwater crew, which is legends, but it is an attempt.
>>97697431It was an interesting idea having something like that I'd assume GW is afraid because they know people are freaks and are gonna find some stupid wombo combo that instantly makes it the default thing and all the sweats are gonna ruin the fun for everyone. It's like "do we wanna put in the work to make this fun and balanced" or just not do it at all and save the trouble.
What're you all working on, gentlemen? Post models.I finally threw some more paint on my rocket battery. Hoping to finish it soon so I can do other stuff. This thing has killed my drive to paint but I need it done so I can happily play spearhead.
>>97697456Got this guy kitbashed as the last of my big boys, though currently fiddling around with mannfred on foot and debating if I wanna swap to paint some NH or something. Also been fucking around with rebasing my KOS since an anon awhile ago made the keen observation that the base looked stupid so I tried to save it.
>>97697470That upper body is really fucking cool anon
>>97697456Last day you can look this guy in the eyes, befire he gets covered by planks as part of the model assembly
>>97697172>TQIm going to try running the changeling in my KO army. Having a 2 cast wizard is nice for the no magic faction. In general its too restrictive. Id rather every generic unit be an option to ally in than very specific units or groups of units
>>97697663I have no idea where this guy comes from. The grinkrak catapult is my best guess?
This was from the old vs box right? Its not new art?
>>97697909yeah
>>97697172
Anyone who was interested in Cathay proxies. It seems the Cathay battalion is listed as out of stock online. Meaning it won't be restocked. This was supposed to be an evergreen box, so this may mean something is coming that replaces this box.So if you have a FLGS with stock, and you thought about getting proxies, this MAY be the time to strike.
>>97697934>evergreenit's a side game
>>97697909You can tell by the exact hero matchup from the box
>>97697934meh. There is a box for $100 at my lgs but I cant bother. If I were to make a cities army it would be set in the living city anyways.
>>97697920I'm so confused by this image
>>97697964Can you link the store name ill buy that right now gladly
>>97698013It's AI
>>97697934Isn't it possible that they'll simply be reboxed?
>>97698018they dont sell stuff unless you go in to pick it up.
>>97698023It is absolutely possible, it's also possible that it's a glitch on the webstore and should say " Temporarily Out of Stock ". Hence why I said " MAY " as I am not sure. But if it's being repackaged, I doubt the deal will be better than currently. So just something to consider if you have stock locally. AFAIK there aren't any rumors of Cathay reboxing/repacks or anything new from Cathay. All the rumors lean towards Warriors of Chaos/Wood Elves/Tomb Kings for the near future.
>>97698023I could see GW just making a new Battalion box that includes some of the new peasant models instead of the cannons or cavalry. The WoC box is also sold out, so I expect that to be replaced by something else as well
>>97698039>my girlfriend goes to a different school you wouldn't know herlmao
>>97698058??? Thats a pretty common practice. Especially with bread basket state lgs. Doubly so for card game shit.
>>97698057>The WoC box is also sold out, so I expect that to be replaced by something else as wellThat's 99% because they will reveal the new Chaos Warriors and Chaos Knights at Adepticon, and will probably offer a reinforcement box like with the new marauders where they will have all the new sculpts in one box.
>>97698073>the new Chaos Warriors and Chaos Knights at AdepticonI'm still not sure what those would even look like, the current Slaves to Darkness models are already pretty similar to the older WoC ones so just doing a straight upgrade feels very odd
not mine but wow
>>97698072
>>97698081This is probably the best thing we have to go off, considering these kinds of doodles in previous AJ were 1 to 1 representations of new sculpts.
>>97698106I dunno what to tell you anon, lol. I dont think most stores put their bargain bin stuff online anyways. I do have some leftover wood elves leftover I bought for 20 bucks from that lgs, but I dont have the box that had the price tag on it or the receipt.
>>97698106Different anonMy local store did the same thing, whatever leftover old world stuff was around near the end of the year they usually clearance out to make room for more shit. There was quite a hefty chunk like... mid winter time for me? I kinda regret not picking up 70 buck Miao Ying but I just couldn't think fo what to do with her.
>>97698162>>97698189I feel you, my local store had the entire AoS range 90% off at winter time. I can't prove it in anyway thobeit.
All the stores around me keep their shit at MSRP or whatever the discount they’re allowed to give is. Usually 10 or 15%. Shit collects dust for years until it sells or it’s something I happen to need. I watched a Lotann sit on the shelf of one for years since IDK launch and the week I decide to go buy it, it was finally gone.
>>97698106lel>>97698118I don't imagine it'll come with enough shields to do a full loadout dedicated to one specific god? can be a little annoying if not.
>>97698219>I don't imagine it'll come with enough shields to do a full loadout dedicated to one specific god? can be a little annoying if not.No idea desu how they will be boxed and with what options. The new marauders came with all 3 weapon options in the box, but warriors have hand weapon+shield, halberd+shield, dual hand weapons, and great weapons as options. So having all those options in the box+shields for each god seems like too much plastic for one kit. Even though I assume they will drop the size down from 32 in a box to 20.
>>97698201I'll go check it out today, gotta check the used minis case anyways. See if there's anything on clearance rn.
>>97697313Waacfags ruined it.And if you want to do it in friendlies with your friends, nothing is stopping you.
>>97698201That sort of shit blows my mind. Why would any store that wants to stay in business with miniatures not have an online store GW product moves, even if it doesn't have a scene in your area (Old World, AoS in particular). Why even get that shit on order from GW if you discount to 90 fucking percent and sell it at a God damn loss?
>>97698208>>97698336Couple of months agk I was staying over at family for the christmas period and decided to go visit the local store for some gift shopping (also does boardgames etc), saw picrel there. Survived for over a decade. Keep in mind even then that's a whopping 25 cent discount lol. Lgs's here in my country just don't really do discounts for some reason, basically all gw price. This wasn't in bumfuck nowhere either, mid sized regional town. Though to be far the store itself was in a really odd spot, kind of impossible to find unless you looked it up beforehand.
>>97698208Theres boxes at my lgs that have turned blue from sitting in the sun on shelves for years and that shit is still only at a 5% discount. Brick and mortar is a scam, i get all my shit online
>>97698445I almost only buy online, usually a good deal from eBay; and if I do buy from brick and mortar, it’s the store I go to almost once a month for my RTT humiliation ritual. Even if it’s just paint that time around. I dislike the blind almost-worship of the “FLGS”. Many game stores are hardly “friendly”, even more so if you’re a tabletop gamer and not a pack ripper. It probably ties in to my disdain towards the term “mom and pop” in regards to businesses. Just because they’re “mom and pop’s” that evoke the image of an endearing, graying couple trying their hardest, doesn’t mean they’re immune from criticism or can’t suck. Many do suck and it’s not just because of a stocking issue. The looks and tones I’ve gotten sometimes when asking about models or paint made me feel like a second class customer.
>>97697456finished this guy yesterday
Soooooooonnnn...
>>97698647I think it'll come out by the time I finish my sylvaneth stuff. I am expected to finish it sometime before 2029.
>>97698628>even more so if you’re a tabletop gamer and not a pack ripperYeah they're not dicks about it or anything but same at my lgs, they're really hoping to see a card game player walk through the door every time. >>97698638Damn anon that's one clean looking treeStellar work
>>97698021Yeah I get that part but I don't understand what the post is trying to convey
>>97698773He was mad that the characters weren’t black or Chinese.
>>97698773AI thinks anime is gay.
Additional TQ:Provided the model doesn't look like shit and the rules are at least alright, would you be interested in running a cogfort in your army? Be that either the gw model or some concoction you kitbashed yourself.
>>97698878If I get one I’ll have to make a living city army I think. I just can’t imagine sylvaneth with it consisting only of spites and trees wanting to take one. Especially if it’s a regiment of renown model, you can only take one 1 ror and the one squad id duck them with (would be converted dwarfs into rootkings) can’t be taken along with that.
>>97698878it depends on how bullshit their rules are and how common they end up being in the metaI can see converting a floating pyramid fortress or titanodon for lizardmen, but it it's way too disgusting I won't bother
>>97698638Admech, Tsons, Lizards, and trees, all painted stunningly. Not a single time do one of your models go unappreciated by me, anon. Good shit.
>>97698913The conversion potential is definitely a big boon. You can come up with some form of fuckhuge transport thing for most of factions.Though for a lot of these I think it'd be easier to just build from scratch
>>97698665Thanks, though I'm not 100% sure about the green hand honestly>>97698940I'm very happy to hear that, anon :)
>>97698638>>97698940Seconding. Your stuff is always so clean, pretty, and well photographed.
The Ivory Host scheme is nice.
>>97699167I never noticed these guys even had legs before, I always just kind of assumed they were just floating upper bodies lol
>>97697188I have a physical copy if you want to pop over
>>97699380Neh, they're doing a silly dance
>>97698878I would use it as an opportunity to convert a parasite engine
>>97698878I'd love to try and convert something or just heavily kitbash a model to match my death armys. I'm just wondering how big these things are gonna be, since we're not in 40k bases can go up to 160mm but I'm trying to figure out if it'd be round or long.
>>97698638that's gorgeous!
>>97698638Holy crap
how would you goyim go about painting scales of talaxis' ruin parts to look as much like they were made of like, tarnished gem as possible? like a jade type of gem, something not completely translucent
Are the PDFs for 4th edition of the Lumineth Realm-lords, the Disciples of Tzeentch, and/or the Ossiarch Bonereapers available yet?
>>97700035No. Strictly speaking Blighted Wilds hasn't been scanned either, though there's photos floating around.
>>97697456What gold did you use?
>>97700017To get something similar to that image I'd basecoat with bright mint green, mix in purple or blue for shadows and white for highlights maybe? Looks really pretty, I'd be interested in an actually tried and tested recipe as well
>>97697456I want to lick the purple ballista car
>>97700077i'll do some research today, keep you posted, but honestly i didnt even mean to attach that one LMAO it was supposed to be this random picture of jade, but now im interested in trying that idea out too
>>97698013I make it a mission to take cool images and make them worse.I just think it's funnier that way.
>>97700136>>97698013>>97698773Point is, if you're the artist, don't think too hard about it.
>>97700140Faggot
>>97700140Grok explain this post to me
>>97697456Progress update. The model is done, now I just need to finish the base.Unfortunately, I've run out of time to do so today.>>97700071It's actually the gold recipe that >>97698638 taught me, though that picture is just the base coat.>TTC dragons gold basecoat, washed with a 1:1 mix of reikland fleshshade and druhki violet. Layered up to a highlight of TTC glittering gold afterwards.>>97700084I'd advise against it. The daemons inside lick back.
>>97700340Another angle. Love the little hobgrot doing all the work while the asshole leader of the group on the other side just sits with his hands on his hips. Classic manager material right there.
>>97700017nothing of that size would be translucent
>>97698878Im kitbashing a KO cogfort the second they confirm you can take one. Un related but>put a bunch of effort painting a display piece>dont sand down the print linesSome people dont deserve nice things
Where’s the blimin sylvaneth book damn it. Also was dark harvest really their only dedicated bl book?
>>97700639Nemo, my beoved!
>>97698118It never made sense to me that Nurgle is the crow and Tzeentch is the raptor/hawk. Shouldn't Tzeentch be the crow? And how exactly does a crow represent nurgle anyways?
>>97700721If it'd be up to me tzeentch would be a dragon.
>>97700721I could be wrong but don't crows eat carrion regularly while hawks hunt for their pray and kill it before eating it?
>>97700140It's gotta suck knowing for sure your life will never add anything positive to the world
>>97698878absolutelyI will say, the rumor that the Cogfort kit will work in every army has me thinking this fucker is gonna be BIG. Like, so big they could only justify the cost internally by letting every army run it
>>97700140This is grade a autism
>>97700721Like the other guy said crows eat carrion, it's not the worst connection to make. Though I agree it fits tzeentch better, they're extremly intelligent birds, and corvids are linked to mystic knowledge and stuff in a bunch of religions. I don't know what the hell raptors have to do with tzeentch, should've at least picked an owl instead of an eagle. >>97700777Oh yeah it's supposed to be huge. I think in one of the earliest leaks about it one of the rumourmongers stated it was going to be the biggest plastic kit ever made by gw.I don't know how likely that actually is but either way it's shaping up to be huge. And with a kit that big and expensive it makes sense from gw's perspective to make it available to everybody instead of just one specific faction.
Is it too offbrand or extra to give regular Gor's and ungor's cloaks, hoods and bags?Had some green stuff left over and figured since they might be somewhere cold or always on the move they might need some.
>>97701143wrong tab beastnigger, this is the one you shitpost in
>>97701179Maybe he's just a trve beasts of chaos patriot still fighting the good fight Like those japanese soldiers on remote pacific islands
>>97698647They're releasing next Tuesday but GW has already revealed they're refusing service when it comes to you and you won't be able to buy them.
>>97701234Gw has developed a nex experimental plastic that reacts specifically to kurnothi-anon's biosignature and will cause the plastic to spontaneously combust whenever it detects his presence.
>I GOTTA PROOMPT faggot insulting kevin chin's art
>prompts like it's a conversation
>>97700721I can only assume that they didn't want to use a vulture because it's 'obvious' and went crow for the carrion connection and alliteration
>>97701559Could have been the carrion toad, since nurgle likes frogs.
>>97701143Makes sense for Ungors. They're hated by both humans and other Beastmen, so I can see them wanting to hide their mutations/lack of mutations
>>97701653poor frogsgets thrown it with the god of disease and rot just for being kind of ugly
I'm really excited about the idea of a captured Cogfort being run by Snotlings
>>97700721>Shouldn't Tzeentch be the crow?crow =/= raven
>>97697172Outside of cities 2e tome I see the allies and ror stuff as either for fluffy players or eye rolling waac like the ko ward busting or callis and toll. Not really much in between, I think the intent is to be an inferior choice or niche depending on matchup. On the positive side they can lift some underwhelming tomes up. If I were playing nh or obr I would definitely stick ushoran or mannfred in either, their warscrolls alone are better than most of the shit in either book.
>>97698628You ARE. A second class customer for them.Miniatures are solely in the store to get secondary sales from the pack rippers who (briefly) want to do something else before returning to their addiction
>>97698638Excellent work. Better than the box art
>>97698878No Because the game isn't fun anyway. And because GW will want to push these 'expensive' investment, they will make them overpowered so every fag wants to take them
>>97700140> ... in his fucking AI promptYou MUST die
>>97701839I mean it's not like megas are currently running rampant in every list, nor was it ever really an issue before. Though to be fair I've heard knights be exactly that in a few 40k editions.
>>97700140>AI
>>97701830The only time I've seen card rippers try out warhammer is underworlds of all things. Which I guess makes some sense
>>97701691Frogs deserved it
>>97702104>try saying that to my face
>>97699167>ZARAS VINTOS>The bestial lands of Ghur have ever been the prize sought by the warriors of the Ivory Host. Aboard their Graven Armada, they launch their sorties into Ghurish territory by sending Bonereaper cohorts through the realmgate of the Greedmouth. Numbering among the members of perhaps the most fiercely driven cohort is Zaras Vintos. This Soulreaper is wrought from the essence of tenacious hunters and fearsome beast-slayers. He has personally vowed to kill every kind of monstrous creature in Bjarl and Andtor, the two regions that bracket the KRakensea where the Greedmouth is situated. Under their Liege-Kavalos, his legion have already pressed deep into southern Andtor via the Crumbling Coast, erecting several Bone-tithe Nexuses and establishing a keep known as the ‘Spire of Dust’. This aggressive conquest has only been checked by the orruks of the Fingabiter clan. Led by the Snatchaboss Urkslogg, these Kruleboyz vie with Zaras for the monstrous fauna that roam the lands. Efforts to bring the orruks to heel have so far proved futile, but Zaras is determined to see his dogged foe cut down by the gleaming edge of his scythe.
>>97702241>ORITAN PHAREK>Ur-Crematoria in the realm of Shyish has seen its share of invasions. Amongst the most penetrative was the attack of Kurundar the Enkindled, although unsuccessful, it took significant sacrifice by the Crematorians to eliminate the threat. The Chaos worshippers had acted under the orders of a greater power, one that Oritan Pharek now means to hold at bay. Of keen military mind, the Liege-Mortek has established defences around the Pyregate mountaints to stymie the advances of warhosts from Zharr Vyxa. The Helsmiths are following in the wake of their human lessers, bound for the repositories of lore in Lindl. Unbeknownst to the Hashutites, the most vital scroll in the necropolis's archival catacombs has long since been removed, but Pharek still holds his redoubt against them with the utmost determination. He expects no relief from his fellow Ossiarch legions, for the Crematorians have long been considered the dregs by other Bonereapers. It matters not. Animated by the souls of guerrilla fighters, Pharek continues to thwart the Helsmiths. The duardin are not known to accept denial for long, however, so it is only a matter of time before this war front escalates.
>>97702245>KAMIR HAKKAIN>When the Grand Necromystic's legions marched on Lake Lethis to drain its waters, seeking the fossilised bone of behemoths, Kamir Hakkain was amongst the Petrifex Elite warhost. After dealing with the Lethisian border fighters, the Grand Necromystic bade the Ossifector take a portion of the recovered osseous matter for experimentation. Kamir established a domain amidst the northern mountains where he focues on his work. Fastidious and highly secretive, none are admitted to his laboratory save other Mortisans, and even then only under Kamir's watchful gaze. He is adept at augmentation, yet he has retained something of his amalgamated souls' paranoia. Few know what he toils over in those cavernous reaches, but it is with tireless diligence that he enacts the orders of the Grand Necromystic and, indeed, the will of Nagash. So voracious is Kamir for further bone material to supplement his already considerable hoard that he has sent several of his murderous Stalkers to harry strongpoints like Brackenmarsh and Haggrath Plight. Never is it enough, though. When whatever Kamir is creating comes to fruition, it will surely be of a terrifying scale and magnitude.

>>97702252>HATHOREX THE FLAYER PRINCE>It is said of Hathorex the Flayer Prince that he is animated by soul fragments from the extinct Slaaneshi terror-tribes of the Nightfire Spine mountains. A Liege-Kavalos of the Stalliarch Lords, he and his fellow charioteers are experts in night attacks. They cover their bones and wargear with pyre ash to ensure no flame reflects from their armour or blades as they bear down on their prey. Acting as vanguard for Arch-Kavalos Zandtos's Deathrider cavalcade, they eliminate border patrols ahead of the larger cavalry host or disrupt foes with their shock tactics. Whether a quirk unnoticed by the Soulmasons or a more deliberate addition, Hathorex has a penchant for flaying skin from his kills and hanging it from a ruined battlement or enemy banner pole like a grisly standards. Perhaps it is some residual sadism left over from the souls used in his creation. Regardless, it serves as a warning to those who might resist the Stalliarch Lords or the will of Zandtos. In Hathorex's wake, fear spreads across the desolate plains of Shyish and beyond. The cold wind whispers of the Flayed Prince, and many watchmen and nervous sentries cling to their spear hafts as they peer into the darkness, fearful of his coming...
>>97702377Yes, Stormbringer was positively scuffed for the deals it gave. That shit was fantastic, websites still up but it's basically just what people didn't want.

>>97702383Oh neat I thought that stuff was us and uk onlyHow long does it take for the stuff from hachette to become available for sale individually then? I assume after the whole subscription thing has run its course? (Ran its course?)
>>97702429>How long does it take for the stuff from hachette to become available for sale individually then? I assume after the whole subscription thing has run its course? (Ran its course?)No fuckin' clue desu, it depends on how much excess stock they have and for what factions. They might not do it this time but they've done it every other time. If or when it gets dropped, i'll drop a link to whatever crappy website they make for it.
>>97702383here's hoping kurnothi hunters arent wanted because I plan on buying like 25 of those things if they're still $13.99.
>>97702456We'll see, just gotta be fast. Once they started running out of stock they started fucking with orders that had multiples too and made it so you only could get one at a time.
>>97702318I don't thing so, Zaras and Hathorex are liege-kavalos, Oritan is a liege-mortrek and Kamir is ossifector
>>97702620Fair enough. Ossiarchs are probably the faction I know the least about, so all the titles etc don't mean much to me

>>97702627Off the top of my head:>Petrifex Elite is run by a group of Mortisans called the Necrosian Cabal, they are only known by their sobriquets>Ivory Host is run by Ghuri-Xza, known as the Drakeslayer Queen>Crematorians are presumed to be run by Ygnopatris Xaranos, but that has not been specified with the same definitiveness as in the above cases>Stalliarch Lords may or may not have a top guy, no such person has been referencedAnd then obviously the Mortis Praetorians are Katakros's personal dudes. I was mistaken about this. There's more new stuff than I'd expected. Off the top of my head I only recall Old White-Fur & This Rough Beast being published elsewhere.>In The Best Laid Schemes (by Adrian Southin), the defenders of Horncrag must repel a Kruleboyz invasion, led by the newly-crowned Warden Queen Breyja and her mysterious ally.>White-Haired Daemon (by Dale Lucas) brings us to a series of battles with the Flesh-eater Courts, whose efforts are continually stymied by a fierce duardin warrior.>Old White-Fur (by David Guymer) tells of a Skaven attempt to a stronghold defended by duardin warriors. Persistent rumours of a duardin spirit are ignored, but only for so long.>In This Rough Beast (by Graham Thomas Wilcox), a coterie of vampiric Blood Knights is systematically hunted down one by one as Grombrindal secures revenge for his people.>The Hunt for Whitebeard (by Ian Green) brings us back to the Skaven, as a Grey Seer receives a vision of Grombrindal and sets a Deathmaster to take him down on the eve of battle.>In All That Could Be Done (by Jennifer Brandes Hepler), a duardin War Surgeon is aided by a peculiar warrior who urges him to heal a wounded warrior while fighting off seemingly endless hordes of Nurgle's followers.>Fire and Fungi (by Andi Ewington) pits the Fyreslayers against a massive horde of Gloomspite Gitz, aided by none other than Grombrindal and their duardin ingenuity.>In An Oath of Redemption (by James Brogden), Grombrindal takes on a savage beast summoned by Darkoath warriors, giving way for a duardin mercenary to challenge the chieftain to a duel.

>>97704167Honestly surprised they're gonna keep the old blight kings in there.
>>97702952>>97702363So this costs what, 40£ a month? So for us downunders it's gonna be what $100 a month for 4 magazines? And it looks they're gonna do about 100 issues given Premium Issue 61 comes with Katakros which would be 15 months after you subscribe?I can't check because when I say I'm an aussie it tells me to fuck off
>>97704249Huh yeah now that you mention it
>>97704279I mean it would make it playable for spearhead but its a uh...questionable for the longterm actual game. Still I expect it to be among the first thing to get hogged on.
>>97704167Dude if these are available at 13 bucks a kit like the last shit was, can you fucking imagine. I feel like there's gotta be a catch.
>>97704295They're still the same base size right? I don't think it really matters that much then, though it is pretty funny. Also reminds me how much of a fucking downgrade the new nurgle SH is I mean wow.
KEK! I'm watching golf on Skysports and they legit aired an AoS commercial.
>>97704316The catch is you probably don't give a shit about half the spearheads and it's going to take you a year+ to actually get all the stuff, and what you do get each month will only let you build part of each spearhead, so it could be months before you have single complete one. All that said, if they put this out in the US I would still probably get it and just sell the 4-5 spearheads I have no interest in.
>>97704363Why is that paint pot circumcised
>>97704455that gave me a painful image
>>97704455They made it kosher for the judeo-people.
>>97704316The catch is subscribers pay for every issue. Half are paint, a few are tools, and they're auto enrolled in a payment scheme for binders that are like £40 a pop. Buying individual issues has no catch but the savings can be overstated. Oh, 10 clanrats for £10 that's under RRP given starter sets. They'll split issues up to 2 issues or 3 if the base can be sold separately. It's good value but not holistically. Buy individual issues you want.
What single unit would you have the worlds largest collection of?
>>97704502I wait for individual issues, again we'll see if they do that again this time around.
>>97704502Like, woah a whole Spearhead for 1£9.99! That's worth 70! Issues>Pox herald >3 Blightlord issues, one is just the bases >2 plaguebearers >Blightkings Big saving.

>>97704543October 2023 was the launch of Stormbringer in the US, but it was February 2023 in UK
>A clash between Vokmortian and Kagruk saw the Mortisan gouged by the Tyrant's spear, though neither could defeat the other. The scar of that wound remains, as does the rancour between the two foes. Although the Tarkan migrated to the northern reaches of Hallost, their survival is a stain on Vokmortian's pride, who wants to deliver Hallost to Nagash and erase ogorkind from existence.
Middle dude is getting his morb on
Imagine if a cogfort was playable in spearhead
>>97704917Imagine if it's a fully armed and manned mobile fortress and could functionally act as a one unit army
I built some Cities models a while back, really enjoyed it but did burn out on all the detailed hordey fuckers. But I've been thinking I really need to focus on expanding one of my existing forces into a full 2,000 points instead of just buying different Spearheads, and this box has been tempting me every time I went to HPB, and all this Cogfort rumor chat got me so excited I broke down and bought the damn thing. The forces of the Living City are in bloom!Any recommendations for subassemblies for the gun guys? Shields off, I presume
>>97704917If the rumors about it being the biggest plastic kit they've ever done are true, it could very well be a 1,000pt unit by itself. So I could see some kind of cool "assault the Cogfort!" special game mode in White Dwarf, but I doubt it would just have regular Spearhead rules.
>>97705277Damn! Nice HPB find! The only AoS thing I've found at mine was that god awful coomer zombie UW warband. Not sure about the subassemblies but shield off is pretty mandatory, I'd say.
>>97705286...coomer zombies?
>>97705283>assault the Cogfort!" special game modeWould be kino. I think kill team tried doing something with the night bringer in kill team, so here's hoping they do something more in depth with the cog fort in spearhead. Even an experimentation would be neat.

>>97705283I really really hope they don't make it some obnoxiously costed imperial knight type unit and have it be closer in cost to a mega gargant or one of the god models, ideally less. If it's going to have a regiment of renown that lets almost every faction take one, it should be something reasonable to use and not over centralizing or dogshit as knights tend to be. >>97705294while it can be done well like pic related, I don't see GW putting out a good looking "mini" cogfort.

>>97707670>>97707715I remember that spergout from a month or so ago, was fun.>>97707886>>97707917We're usually faster, I noticed that the thread has been pretty slow lately too. Funnily enough the same thing was happening last year, though that was when we were in a big drought of absolutely nothing aos-related happening for like half the year, until the scourge of ghyran stuff. I think yeah there's just not a whole lot to talk about right now. All of 4th edition's remaining releases basically already got leaked, we already had all those conversations twice over. Also worth noting that 4th edition doesn't exactly inspire much exciting list building talk or anytning. When there is new stuff to talk about like the lumineth/tzeentch tomes or the DoK reveal it gets quite active here, but otherwise it's pretty slow at the moment.
>>97707768Maybe the art over exagorates for simplicity, but it's actually kinda amazing how much Greywater raped Ghyran. Like this is all supposed to be forested area, but all the land around the city is a treeless swamp streaching out to the horizon

>>97706638>the moulds themselves which is the expensive partThey are, some can cost as much as $75000 usd but usually they cost around $35000-$45000.So if a $45k mold has 1 sprue that holds 10 models, in a 2 mold 20 model box that sells for $40 to a store ($56 MRSP), they'd need to sell 1125 boxes just to break even on the mold costs. Probably need to sell 2x as much to see a profit and 5-10x as much to satisfy the shareholders. My costs might be off but that's pretty much how it works.
