Although I loathe to recommend tier 1 decks, you could try playing Terror in pauper which is a tempo deck. I don't think there's an equivalent in Hearthstone, maybe aggro secret mage is the closest thing but I haven't played in years.
>>97732681A storm deck would be the closest thing to Miracle rogue. There are some decklists for modern. Not sure why you'd enjoy that with friends though, it's basically a game of solitaire on your end.

>>97732797>>97732807How about burn decks, then? I imagine those must surely be a thing? Although with most card games it really seems to depend on the meta whether they're viable or not.

>>97732855Yes burn is very good. The problem you're going you're going to run into with kitchen table magic is some decks are simply too good. Like if you just want to win every game play turbo genius or something else insanely powerful. If you and your friends just want to play pauper here are the top decks https://www.mtggoldfish.com/metagame/pauper#paper none of them are very expensive. If you want to draft without breaking the bank come together and invest in a cube, there are budget and pauper cubes on cubecobra and it's also not to hard to proxy a cube for cheapish. The reason commander is so popular is because it kind of breaks the barriers to winning of money. Anything can happen with diplomacy if your deck is half decent.I'd suggest talking to your group about what format you want to play and if it's all online the cost shouldn't be prohibitive. Personally I prefer cube or limited.People have been going on about Dandan on here because of the secret lair. I prefer another one of Nick's versions of the game called Rock-Paper-Scissors which is a three player game. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1z2AEeOtbwzM_dplDE-60iUjH0_pbZXd8_-smYEATovc/edit?usp=sharing

>>97732977nta, complete tangent:I know this is literally the point of Standard but ironically the gap between PS and """real Standard""" is indicative of a larger problem which is why Modern mogged Standard in player numbers until MH/LTR permanently ruined the format. People don't like investing in expensive cardboard with an expiration date. I'd say most players pick up a game to build and play some shitty petdeck so it's a real bitter pill for them to swallow being told their deck will be rendered invalid for the sake of the meta. Unfortunately WotC has demonstrated nothing short of profound mental retardation when it comes to card design so Modern has become a poisoned well for appealing to this demographic, which is likely why we have the abomination that is current "Standard" that never rotates.Playing shitty petdecks is also why so many people like Commander but that format is rapidly buckling under the rate at which WotC is printing ultrapushed slop into the format with a UB label so people will do mental gymnastics trying to justify including it, basically forcing Timmies and Johnnies to confront the exact play patterns they were trying to avoid by playing Commander (fucking 3-drops that win the game if not answered instantly).

One thing that's fascinating about MTG Goldfish's Standard tournament, is learning just how balanced the game had been for most of its history.Yes, some specific notorious moments are obvious powerhouses, but for the most part all the decks appear competitive against one another. Decades apart, regardless of era. Shit's crazy.

Thinking about making this guy as an infect deck.>include almost all infect creatures>other goodstuff in these colors, which is a lot>include tons of graveyard recursion to bring back things like time warp, triumph of the hordes, tainted strike etc>tutors, counterspells, ramp>proliferate cardsAnyone else do a deck like this in Sultai? It's going to be bullshit to play against, no matter what, but could suprise some groups.
