Ever tried to teach your players anything through games?

No.

What fucking for? Other than being an insufferable cunt, of course?
>>

Most people here can't even teach the rules of the games they're trying to play.
>>
>>97729873
Nah, the closest I get is actively trying to get them to cry at the climax of the campaign to prove they felt something real.

I've turned all my players into misogynists by making every female NPC a scheming, evil witch

I taught them about the power of friendship. And gangrape.
>>

You mean besides teaching them the game?
Because I have had games with total noobs who had to be taught while playing. It's mildly annoying but not terrible in the games I have hosted that allowed noobs.
Really would prefer if they read the basics and how their character works before the session though.

I rip off and mash together historical events a lot so I tend to talk about whatever the inspiration was after the game when we're eating and hanging out a bit. So they probably learn bits and pieces of history.
I've taught some of them wargames over the years if that counts, and a few of them how to paint via wargames to the point they're significantly better at it than I will ever be and they really like that part.

I started running a modern setting game (using SWADE) and the campaign started with my friends thinking Assault Weapons were a real class of gun, didn't know the difference between an SMG, an Assault Rifle, and a Battle Rifle, and didn't even know what a PDW was at all.
They now know.
And they really like the cute anime girl gunsmith that sperged out on them in game about it.

Have a plan to kill everyone you meet

I was a big x-phile a while back; never seriously, just for entertainment, but I did 'lore dump' via scenarios and handouts for same. Cryptids, aliens, toe-dipping into the occult, anything really. It was a conspiracy themed campaign naturally, so all in all it was some of the easiest game prep I've ever had.

Common sense, but I failed.
