Just took the 3 army set, Wanted the goliath too but maybe i'll wait for now when the Siege tank comes out. Can't wait to play it with my brother and even paint it. I use terran Dominion my Brother Golden Armada Protoss.

The Warhound I love the design, hope they make it for the second wave. I would love much more terran units but it's a start.

For terrans im going green contrast over metal base. There'll be a small amount of white trim but only on shoulder pads.

>>
>>97745312
I dunno, I like the in-game factions too much haha perhaps the closest to this is that I'm painting my dudes up in (what I'd guess is) an uncommon colour scheme since I'm painting my Terrans as Moebius Corps.
>>
>>97745312
i thinking about painting my terrans cerberus style
>>
>>97746092
Isn't that just UED with yellow stirpes?
>>
>>97746147
UED doesn't really have unique colors. in brood war it had pure white without the black accent and brown as colors ingame, but those have previously already been used for confederate squadrons (and later for Umoja) and the cutscene shows that outside of gameplay they are just using a mix of whatever they can get a hold of with no standard uniform at all (they did send the fleet with as little hardware as possible to avoid terrans stealing tech after all)

lorewise yes that was the idea. remnant merc company that keeps itself seperated from the filthy terrans when not on a job
>>
>>97746179
No, UED wear white lmfao don't know why you'd even try and say otherwise.

>>

>>97746197
>>97746179
So UED are not confirmed to wear white, despite cutscenes, gameplay etc, because other people in the universe also wear white? So Master Chief isn't ACTUALLY green. because other people in Halo also wear green?
>>
>>97746240
can you read? i never said they don't wear white
i said
>UED doesn't really have unique colors
because white and brown are also used for confederate troops

in general the ued in general lacks a unqiue design which they will also not get unique models in this unlike other subfactions
>https://www.youtube.com/live/Z21oYva4rLc?si=FtnOm1-P5jU2c5qo&t=1719

mind you i think this is a shame and something i would have liked them to fix because the ued is something that can carry expansion sets

>>97746450
you could also draw the reflection on it with silver
>>
Undecided on whether to go Nezarim or Tal'darim for my Protoss color scheme
>>
>>97746548
taldarim are getting their own models later. in fact they are right now the only confirmed protoss subfaction with their own models

not saying you should go nerazim because of it as taldarim in lore also klep stuff from the normal protoss and just paint it black, but i thought that info might help you to decide
>>
>>97746383
SC1 Ghost and Queen of Blades Kerrigans are separate characters to begin with, and WoL is still sensibly the former while HotS onward is a wonky intermediate third thing.

Additionally, Jim's "inconsistencies" have pretty solid explanations if you play the right mission order. The issue is that the reason for turning away from "trying to kill the Queen of Blades" is a single scene in the optional Zeratul cutscenes that doesn't actually SAY it, so it blind-sides people because the set-up is very easy to miss.
>>
>>97746548
Tal'darim are confirmed as getting basically a full faction release down the line, so if you want to prep for that paint up as Tal, if not do Dark Templar
>>
>>97746450
Option 1: masking tape and hit it with an airbrush

...Actually look at the "schemes" she got up to in Brood War and really think through what the way she rubbed peoples' faces in fucking them over implies for the shelf-life of getting to try that shit in the first place, let alone how often it'd work once people established it as a pattern of behavior.

As for the romantic subplot, do you really need it to be a beat-you-over-the-head subplot to acknowledge any possibility of interest? People were very much picking up on that long before SC2 shoved it in everyone's faces from the opening cutscenes.

NTA, currently, sure, they're just for list building in a manner similar to HH3.0 but much more intuitive.
That said, I don't think we'll see any buildings beyond things like bunkers/pylons/turrets unless people create 3D print STLs. And even then, things like a Command Center would be way too big to fit on the table.
Though a game mode similar to 40k's Boarding Action rules would be a fun way to be inside buildings/ships with your infantry.

recently after buying the basic box I restarted to play SC1 and SC2 and I noticed in some segments of SC1 the retarded parts are infact more the "Change of Idea during writing" like the famous SC1 intro that no one see's seems so out of place because it was for another game, SC2 seems a natural development of SC1 but they forgot the "basic" stuff even in the past when I was 16 and played the Campaign of WoL like every fucking person who played SC1 when we end up in Haven we all said
>Wait... Isn't raynor friends with the protoss?
or the ending of WoL
>Wait we did everything to "kill her" and James how for all the game was troubloed by killing her or saving her now she decide to save her only because Thycus want to kill the Zerg Pussy.
I mean IDK why I feel like Starcraft sometimes i written in a really "blizzard way" (that you can recognize subtetly or they done their homework) and sometimes pull out story ass cliches or something "dumb" but at least not a fucking facepalm dumb.
>>
>>97762911
I think a central issue to it is that SC1 has much grittier and 'earthly' feel to it, especially with the cut content like the prologue campaign. The Terran content in 1 got cut short, likely for the sake of time, and what was removed tried to make the Confederacy and Dominion both into more villainous groups.
Something to keep in mind is that in both (or technically all three) Terran campaigns in SC1, you're technically playing the bad guys. There's parts in base SC1 where you aren't, namely early on and in the final mission, but the Sons of Korhal definitely aren't good guys.
Same goes for the Zerg in both SC1 and Brood War. You're outright the bad guys of the story.
Both WoL and HotS turned this around to have you play as the Good Guys. Raynor's Raiders are wholly justified in pretty much every mission as opposed to the dubious morals of the SoK and UED. Kerrigan is constantly shown as balancing out her zerg vindictiveness with her remaining humanity, as opposed to her monstrously inhumane attitude in SC1.
Only the Protoss manage to carry over the spirit of their SC1/BW campaigns to 2, given their more heroic and upstanding nature.
SC2 is still dark at times, but it's far less ambiguous or ambient as SC1.
>>
>>97762911
>>97762985
SC2 writing isn't as bad as a lot of people pretend, it's lesser than the first game sure but I've experienced far worse characters and plots. There's a good chunk of SC2 I love, the only part I'd call truly fucking terrible is final act which involves going into another realm to make Kerrigan into a god to beat an ancient evil god while the Protoss and Terrans watch.
>>
>>97763143
I think it like you, I mean in the past and even today that I replayed SC1 and SC2 mine was more a critic than beign butthurt, I think SC2 plot and story is not bad but it seems like something in the writing was forgot or not even considered but in the end it has a really nice gameplay and the story it has both 10/10 moments and low points but IG is a great game and story
>>
>>97762911
>when we end up in Haven we all said
>Wait... Isn't raynor friends with the protoss?
But glassing colonies is bad, and Hot Doctor Lady said she was working on a fix. Something Raynor had personal experience with being possible given his involvement with Stukov's case of it, before HotS retconned him into some weird mix of remission and getting re-conscripted by Narud's programs about it. Could use a proof-of-concept like Morik to establish she was making clear progress BEFORE the decision-point or had its spread clearly tied to the Raiders not getting in the way in favor of joining the glassing, but the fact remains that Raynor's in the business of stopping "Cruel Necessities" that aren't actually necessary and has cause to believe in Haven being a case of such.

>Wait we did everything to "kill her" and James how for all the game was troubloed by killing her or saving her now she decide to save her only because Thycus want to kill the Zerg Pussy.
I repeat, Zeratul's cutscenes around the Protoss missions explain it, but because it's FUCKING OPTIONAL and not SAID CLEARLY the midwit consensus misses it.

Same as the people who think the Hybrid existing at all was a complete ass-pull. Dark Origin was quite explicit about Duran having uncanny knowledge of Protoss technology working on Zerg/Protoss Hybrid for the interests of something they reflect. The moment that the Zerg and Protoss were explained to be an intentional "pair" for making new Xel'naga (which, again, seems to be from 2009 Dark Templar Saga novels), the Amon plot was pretty damned clear.

>>97763209

>Blizzard forgetting how to write anything but Overt Protagonist point-of-view does seem to be a consistent trend in their storytelling decline.
SC1 was almost entirely driven by the actions of the protagonists though? Like, it's no real different from SC2 if you think about it.
>>
>>97764235
"Protagonist" may not be quite the right word, but an example that sticks in mind is that one troll faction cutscene that comes across as introducing heroes rather than the patch enemies they are. That is, their capacity to SHOW a "viewpoint" character being wrong kept degrading to something of an inversion of protagonist-centered morality, where regardless of still recognizing moral stakes said character will be portrayed as "the hero of their own story" so long as the focus is on it.

Well Roachers, are you on team Corpser or team Vile… or team Vanilla? It’s actually quite interesting to me that they made Corpsers more melee focused and Viles more ranged focused. Vanilla roaches are middle of the road with the “bonus” of being cheaper.
>>
>>97765674
Roaches sure seem interesting, but I do have to wonder how much they'll be able to do with only 3 per squad.
>>

With 4 hp per roach, a 3+ armor save and a heal 2 health while underground ability, they are real tough nuts to crack without armor surge. Add a Queen nearby to reduce incoming hits and those stinkers are going to stay on the point for a long time
>>

Been doing a shitton of laddering to hype myself up for the game, and I gotta say people talk about 3 factions as being an issue, but honestly I think it'll be one of the best things this game has going for it.

Running into the 3 races over and over again reminded me of how balanced and fair the gameplay feels as a result of there being ONLY 3 races- they each can do shit that's strong as fuck that feels busted, but upon reviewing my own games I relearn more and more the flaws with each strategy and the easy countermeasures.

I think that'll carry over well to a ttg- with only 3 factions to worry about balancing will be easy and make for a fun and healthy game, and I'm looking forward to that more than anything.
>>
>>97767891
Not only it's healthy for the game balance but also you are not stuck with an army that has to wait another 10 years for a refresh or even a single new model like in bloated 40k. Just like Jarek said in the interview, they have enough models for almost 10 years of releases every 3 months. Even if they won't be able to keep this pace, it's still nice to know we have a lot to look forward to.
>>
>>97767891
>>97768666
Also even though there's only 3 factions if they're going the coop commander route of heroes changing how your army plays then there's potential for so much variety.

Like just from this thread and last thread so many people are excited, me included, for stukov zerg which is fundamentally a completely different type of zerg army if its going to be infested base.
Speaking of stukov, I hope they keep his hots iteration as a support hero who can slap a bitch.

Oh hey, (You)'re back! I though (You) were leaving 97724836? :)

I want Firebats and I want them to have flame templates and I want them to be able to place two of those templates anywhere on their base per shot because they've 2 flamethrowers.

I figure it’s so that you can have the opportunity to be all “fly my pretties!” before your roaches get blasted apart by marauders and immortals

It still ain't right.

Well, we also gotta take into the logistics of how it works when it comes to on-death effects for units. Would it be spawning 3 roachlings when you wipe out a whole squad? That probably would be rather unreliable considering that while they’re competent fighters, they aren’t as killy as Goliaths or Hydralisks. Would it be on a supply removed basis or an individual model basis? There can only be so many roachlings per box of roaches and converting a whole squad of enemy zerglings into roachlings would be a daunting task if one is unwilling to use proxies. Being able to make a marine squad immediately in combat thanks to a marine being blasted into a roachling and thus be unable to shoot at anything except that little shit would also be super annoying.

Continuing on this, by all means, you could try homebrewing it. Perhaps it would make sense to spawn the roachlings at the end of the turn to reduce the sheer interrupt potential of immediate on death spawning

I dunno how it would work, but lucky I'm not making the game so I don't have to. They got the rule wrong.

It wouldn't be too hard, but would definitely be more complicated than what the designer probably wants for the game.

I guess. I can see your point. Just so many of the other units are accurate to the games/lore so it's a shame the Corpser is wrong, purely because Corpsers are my favourite unit in SC2's campaign.

I love Roaches, but Hydralisks will always be my favourite Zerg unit (basic bitch choice I know lol).
