Hot off the fan--translation presses, we have arguably one of the first few (I know this isn't the very first) Japanese original TTRPGs, the Record of Lodoss War Companion. Not only does it serve as a setting book, but it also serves as it's own game. Using a ruleset based off of a PC-88 adaption of The Grey Witch campaign. It was later used for the 3rd Lodoss Campaign (Spark's Party), and then later reduxes of the first two campaigns. As only the first volume of the companions have been translated, most of the rules are introductory and cap out at 7th level. The game uses a primarily d100 system, but using other dice for various other actions. Also while this is set in the world of Forcelia, there is no playable Grassrunners. (Even though there is a Grassrunner in the lore)'Side from that. In other JTRPG news, the crowdfunding campaign for the EN release of Sword World 2.5 is drawing closer, and Yen Press recently announced they are translating the Supplement for the Konosuba TRPG. Other notable translations that have happened as of recently have been a large section of the Dragon RPG Magazine articles about Sword World RPG's "Chaosland" setting, the translation of the supplement for Touhou Narratograph, and also the likelyhood of Dark Blaze to be done within the next couple of months.

As a few say, the Lodoss Companion RPG kindof feels like a Mix of BECMI D&D and Runequest... ...which is pretty apt as the first two Lodoss Compains were with BECMI, and most of the players happened to like Runequest.
>>97761281Weird, but Runequest did have a faithful Japanese following back in the day
