So, now you need to decide. Do you close your eyes to what you've seen and go back to sleep? Or do you come with this psycho burnout and do the impossible against the unbelievable and keep the future at bay for another day? What's it going to be? In or out?

Yeah? You dumb shit.

>Thread Question:
What’s a moment where your players genuinely surprised you and "broke" your scenario?

I should run another DG game soon. I'm getting the itch. My players say they like it but are a bit turned off at the fact that there isnt a lot of character progression.

whereas other systems have a character progression system where they get more and more powers, imo Delta Green's progression is one where your agents (as players) get better and better at tradecraft and the game's mechanics, they get more resources (weapons caches, Friendlies, occult rituals), and they learn more and more about the "real" world and what goes on behind the scenes. You can progress your character by tempting them with greater occult power, but make it perfectly clear to agents that turning to the occult for power will eventually get them killed or worse.

I can't quite think of a moment where my players "broke" my scenario, as in, I had to stop running it or cancel it. I've had a few games where they outpaced me but those were games I wasn't really interested in running in the first place and just wanted to be over. The closest example I can think of was a scenario where the agents were in this town in Montana because they were doing an "intelligence exchange" with the rogue anti-accord faction within Majestic. One of the agents got curious what sort of work was going on in the nearby Majestic blacksite so he did a Remote Viewing ritual and looked inside. He got to see Majestic doing Project TELL experiments with the Tillinghast Resonator. It was more lore than I expected them to get in this one scenario and I sort of wanted to string it out, but that player was already very aware of the setting already so it was nbd.

pic unrelated.

Anyone have any war stories from running Tiger Transit you want to share? My current players are getting close to taking down the karotechia and I think once they're done with that, I want to pivot into doing some action with Tiger Transit next, starting with them investigating reverb users getting eaten by the Hound of Tindalos in Chicago and fanning out from there.

Have any of you run something like that? How did you pace it out? What were some cool scenarios you threw at the agents. I have a short list of some scenarios I want to put them through, some are original concepts I'll work out later, and some are some official scenarios I want to retool. But I'd like to know what you guys did.

There was supposed to be a campaign running through a century of Delta Green (and before) regarding increasingly easy to distribute depictions of Ghatanothoa and how technology makes the life of a DG agent a nightmare.

What ever happened to that? Did it get cancelled? Still in limbo? Or did it get get released without me noticing?
>>
>>97771279
This is the first I've ever heard of that. Was this supposed to be an official campaign, or third party?
>>
>>97771279
It's an Adam Scott Glancy joint, so who know if/when it will ever get published. I believe his focus is on his Greenland/climate change/hyperboria stuff right now, but Century was something he was play testing at one point.

It took like over a decade for Iconoclasts to get made, so who fucking knows. Hopefully the new targ-wrangler will help push stuff out a little faster.

Does anyone else only run pre-Program era (1994-2002) Delta Green? I don't think I have ever run a scenario not set during the Conspiracy era.

I'm on week 6 of Puppet Shows and Shadow plays with my characters and had them breeze through getting the bloodhounds to pick up the trail in about 5 minutes to try and push for us to pick back up on the campaign we had to sideline for a while with some new fervor, did I fuck up and push them too fast for pacing properly or do I need to focus on making my players go faster/focus less on setting tone and painting the picture?

6 sessions or more, no clue since we had to stop and do a different campaign since one of our players got a job that conflicted with our schedule and then threw a shitfit when I tried to continue the campaign without them and never made it clear that they had totally quit the campaign until we all had a dispute with them

NTA but I've heard actual plays of that scenario that went on for 6+ 1hr episodes. I'd imagine if you have fairly newish players to DG getting a feel for the gameplay, it could easily go longer.
>>
>>97780387
6 1 hr episodes sounds like 2 sessions chopped up. 6 sessions sounds like 18 to 30 hours of play, that seems crazy to me.

Running my first DG scenario tonight for some TTRPG newbies. Doing "Last Things Last", of course.

Any tips for a first time Handler, or things I can add to the scenario to zazz it up a bit? Especially with the Marlene encounter.

Right now, one idea I have is to have a random dead fox in the backyard (natural death), half decayed. If they don't burn her alive in the septic tank and engage in combat, when the "spirit" of Marlene jumps from her body (if killed), I'm gonna have it come alive and go bounding into the woods.

How open is this thread to tangentially related topics? Because I'm thinking of running a cryptid-hunting game based on the X-Files, Supernatural, and Hunter: the Reckoning.
>>
>>97796381
I'd just use the Horror General thread.

DG basically is the cryptid-hunting game desu. Its the go-to for X-Files tabletop.
Off the top of my head there's haunted houses, chupacabras/cattle-mutilating aliens, bigfoot, yetis, flukemen, alien-disease-zombie-hypnosis, MIC-backed mutation-experiments, witches in the woods, mountain-woodland-monsters, wendigos, etc. It's just that everything is, for the most part, given a mythos-backstory (the haunted house isn't actually regular ghosts, Nyarlathotep just trapped the negative memories and personalities of anybody that dies in the house within a curse upon the soil, bigfoot is actually ancient-Agarthan-subterranean Vril-Ya, the Yeti is actually fungal alien-wizards from Pluto). It's not hard to just scoop out the mythos-stuff if you want.
I (re)wrote a scenario into a mothman-mythos scenario with an actual appearance from the guy except it was just a Mi-Go that the players were meant to misinterpret the shadow of as mothman and an appearance of the Grinning Man as a protoplasmic-construct in a semi-flawed masquerade of just being a creepy and intimidating guy trying to get the players to hand over a brain-canister

My table's handler has MJ12 still around as the current shadow-government.
My own table is an /mlp/ crossover
