Age of Sigmar: Dead 40K: Spiraling TC: First big box Will you convert to the better game?
>>97769691TC's plastics are overpriced even by "cheaper than Warhammer" standards. It makes me wonder whether this is genuinely what miniature manufacturers have to do to stay afloat in this industry.
>>97769708Good quality plastic minis are pretty pricy to make if you don’t use super cheap Asian factories.
>>97769708I mean if you get the Prussians Warband you can immediately play and dont need anything else apart from dice and the rules. The Krieg only make up a part of an army.
>>97769691>TC >doing anything other than fleecing retards lmao
>>97769708Just scratch build your own army from a cheaper similar historical line. This isnt games workshop.
>>97769847The TC community already considers 3D printers to be parasites, the kitbashers will be next
GW stock is up 7.5% in the last week. Everything looks great for the company. Never heard of Carcass Front before.
>>97769985They came for the PrintersAnd I said nothingThen they came for the kitbashers and I said nothingAnd when they came for the fags there was no one else to stop them
>>97769985>TC community already considers 3D printers to be parasitesI need legitimate proof. I need pics, I need links. This is ridiculous considering that TC started with selling printed models and STLs.If what you say is true, then why and how?
>>97769756You can play Kill Team with a Krieg box.
>>97769691Why would I give my hard earned money to people who hate chuds?
>>97770029Its pretty simple anon>make stl file >only get initial payment>make plastic miniatures>have to buy the box again if you want more dudes or bitsThey have also been taking down fan creations albeit accidentally with some bullshit AI copyright bot. >But I need to be spoon fed with linksLook it up yourself loser.
>>97770029During the release of the plastic Prussians they discord completely turned on 3D printing scene calling them “cancerous” it was pretty funny to see them 180 instantly. It’s calmed down since then>Source: I was in there
>>97769691>It’s over for WarhammerCan it really be, this time?I'm sick of these false positives.
>>97769708The thing is. That squad of guardsmen is what, like 50-70 points of a 2000 point army. And trench crusade is a skirmish game isn’t it? How many squads do you need to play TC? 1-3?
The GWification of Trench Crusade has been a real sight to behold.Probably because it left the 28mag realm and moved firmly into the "youtubers will talk about this to GW drones who don't know anything better" camp, some of whom had political reasons for doing so.I mean, fair fucking play to Mike and Tuomas. Fair fucking play.Imagine if it was Tonks or something that had blown up like this lel
>>97770659you can't even really get mad at them for following the money when it became clear that if they could get even a small ammount of the success GW drones give GW they be retarded not to take it
>>97769691I think I'll just keep trucking along playing Mordheim, thanks.
>>97770692100%God knows what the community is actually like now the KS has been shipped(?) and they're making these moves with plastic kits and painting competitions 95% for official™ miniatures only.
>>97769708If price per miniature would be the only relevant thing in a wargame, you actually might have a point.
>>97770250>discord dramaWhy would anyone give a shit?
>>97769691>tranny game where muslims can do no wrongNo thanks faggot
I could only sell the shitty resin prints for a third of the price i paid for them. So no, i wont be playing there game.
>>97770607depends on the warband, and during campaigns you acquire more units, therefore... no, the starter box of Prussia forces you to buy another box.5-12
>>97770707Just play frostgrave instead. its better.
>AHHH NOOO THIS MODEL AGNOSTIC FREE GAME IS CHARGING MONEY FOR PLASTIC MODELS AND NOT CURRENTLY MAKING NEW STLS AHHHHH HELP ME GAMES WORKSHOP>AHHH MUSLIMS ARE THE GOOD GUYS (I haven't read anything about the game so don't understand they send conscripts to die and create soulless abominations) AHHHHWhy don't you just try the game and see what it's like. It's free.
>>97769691I dropped it.I bought the printer because I fell for their misleading advertising. They promised one thing, delivered another, and now they’re squeezing as much money out of it as possible.I doubt they’ll support it for long—they’ll just lure Games Workshop customers into buying their products and then abandon it once sales start to decline. The fandom is insufferable—you can’t even have a conversation with them without them immediately going off about how great it is, like a bunch of “s oy milk” fanatics.I even stopped to paint my TC and NA warbands. Yes I am dumb and started to paint MHI because they look cool, then switched.
>>97771633What did they promise and didn't deliver?
>>97771641I don’t want to write an essay, so I’ll just mention the first thing that pissed me off:During the Kickstarter, they showed a perfectly printed miniature that could supposedly survive being thrown down a staircase. That’s complete BS. I didn’t know any better at the time—they claimed that was the quality of their prints. They also said they would fulfill all the shipments before expanding the game, but they didn’t. Instead, they went ahead and launched a plastic line. And I stop there or I keep ranting, but I don't care I already found another game I like.
>>97769691I won't change gay games for gayer game.
>Mantic exists >Warmachine exists>[your favorite awg game] exits >40kiddies ignore all of these and choose the absolute worst game from the pits of kickstarter hell to migrate towards
>>97769691Trench Crusade is speedrunning the GW plan but without the foundation of endless brand lifestyle consumers to allow it. Unless they hard pivot, they're just going to be yet another corpse in the mass grave of "Warhammer killers".
>>97769691I've never actually seen anyone play this game out in the wild.
>>97772393It seems more like an excuse to make dioramas to me. I think calling it a game eases the awkwardness people would feel about "just" setting up models as an art project, even though that's the only thing most of them do.
>>97771456No thanks, c*sters are gay and lame.
>>97769691And what do you believe to be the better game?
>>97769847>He doesn't know
>>97771497It's model agnostic and free CURRENTLY. Given that the creators of the game have walked back several of their promises already, and screwed over people working with them on the 3D print side, anything they say should be taken with a mine of salt at best and be treated as if they're actively planning at this moment to do the opposite at worst. They don't have any amount of goodwill or inertia to absorb these blows either, outside of their cultish following who will gladly lap up whatever they're given since they're sticking it to GW somehow.
>>97770692>You can't even get mad at them for shilling out the corpse of the blanchitsu 28 scene.Yes you can.
>>97771427But you can also print pieces and be just fine.

>>97771456Nta, I hate GW but Frostgrave is genuinely shit. I have played a hundred awg games and the ___grave family of games has the worst combat resolution I've ever experienced. Silver Bayonet is slightly improved, Frostgrave is hands down the worst as it was the first attempt
>>97769691>mfw those new Freeguild minisAoS has defeated me again.
When did the Trench Crusade aesthetics go from grimdark ww1 to ww2? when did assault rifles and smgs become the main infantry weapons?
>>97769691I'm sorry, Tranny Crusade marketer, AoS won.
>>97769729GW minis are made in the uk, only their terrain is produced in chyna
>>97773548No they haven't. Doompost like a faggot all you want. They delivered the STLs and are providing more for the backers. The only contentious issue is the community licence which has been confirmed to be being rewritten. The only people who keep calling TC a GW killer are mids like you. Maybe actually play the game and decide, don't deepthroat shit tier YouTube celebrities.
With the starcraft starter set coming out with triple, nearly quadruple the content and only being 1.5 more expensive i see no contest.
>>97769691>don't even show half of the box content>expect people to put up 120 euroshekels for what is essentially a mystery boxall that really does is make people worry that the mystery nigga minis will be ugly and that the included terrain will just be a bunch of cheap cardboard shit, or a couple tiny pieces of scatter. what were they thinking?
>>97778172What? But they have shown it, it's literally on the screen for the pre-order.
>>97778206No, that's only 10 of the 16 included models, also the item description clearly reads that there will be terrain included.
>>97769691No because this is a "vibes game" nobody plays you just see influencers post minis to shill directly for the cool kids club or a sponsored 3d printer from china not knowing they are filling their lungs with microplastics. Its a nice theme but its ultimately another "art project game" like MORK BORG. Its not to be played. Its to be purchased, looked at, appreciated. But played? no what do you think this is? a game?Like GW is pretty dogshit as it attempts to transform into UK Hasbro but Trench Crusade is another one of those "i invested 300 brexit bux, join me in the sadness prison" hustles lie Turnip28 or Zona Alfa. You might get some nice models -assuming they fix all the air bubble problems making models literally explode- but its not "the little guys showing it to the corpo" its "old corpo guy wants to bank on your nostalgia to flip some guys art project" and nothing more.Deep down i think you know this too. Its not exactly obfuscated.
>>97778242Dude, its plastic models these days
>>97778242>This free, model agnostic game is designed to be purchased you seeBeyond based high IQ take. Maybe try the game and see how you feel about it.
Over for warhammer? No one has done a better job boosting GW's sale and Warhammer than Trench Crusade.
>>97778402Doesn't Warhammer literally have tranny marines now?
Trench Crusade isn't a "GW killer" lmao do any of you even understand this industry. It's two guys in a trenchcoat
>>97769691Where is this better game? Can you point it out? Is it in the room with us right now?Seriously though, Trench Crusade is, with the benefit of hindsight, a corporate astroturfed product that laid the hook with Franchina's art and the promise of a community-first model agnostic approach and now that they've gone gangbusters the investors have decided to call in what they're owed and they're now betraying the principles upon which they founded the game. Nobody thought it was weird that they landed a fairly decent artist as the definitive aesthetic face of the game and also had above-average gameplay rules ready to go out of the gate? Much less all the effort put into the background of the world, lore, setting etc. They like to tout themselves as a pro-community, indie grassroots project made by guys that come from years of tolerating other tabletop games being shit in various ways when the truth is that they're an investor backed project that hooked a captive audience and now that they've baited them in it's time to start making big fucking dollars out of it. I'd find it less disgusting if not for the fact that they've presented themselves as one thing and then immediately cast it to one side under the claims that 'they have to defend their incomes'.
>>97778486You are aware that the devs speak to the community on a daily basis and answer questions right?
>>97769691I read the rules and they didn't seem interesting.
>>97778529Speaking to the community and answering questions does not absolve them of publishing their new community guidelines which 100% sabotages any and all current and future attempts to engage with the hobby, much less the hook-line-and-sinker approach of getting people in the door and then releasing new monetisation standards that fuck everyone over. Just because they talk to people and answer questions doesn't mean they give a fuck about their patronage.
>>97778913They are rewriting it after receiving feedback from the community.
The art direction died with the resin miniatures. The new plastic warbands look goofy af
>>97769691why is there a red space marine in that box art?
>>97779027>We're sorry we got caught, anyway we promise we'll not do anything you'll be able to complain about in a way we have to pretend to care about again so you're welcome.
>>97778155The StarCraft box selling better because it has Space Marines will be both funny and sad.
>>97778172I think this is the biggest blunder they've made and I'm amazed it's not what people are discussing rather than spamming the usual NPC dialogue lines we've seen for the past year. Why have factory fortress put it up for pre-order if they're not going to show the minis yet? The post even says they'll be "revealed over the following months up to release", which implies they'll probably wait until Essen? I'm going to buy it anyway but even I think it's a baffling move.
>>97769691I'm not going to play it but once my disability check comes in I'll buy it to own the chuds.
>>97779049This is a good point. Much like resin miniatures compared to injection moulded plastics, it feels like they've lost their sharp edge for making distinct stuff.
That red guy looks like a space marine.
>>97779541>Obviously deceitful company continues to be shitty >Seems sus... I'ma buy it anyway lol the system works I guess.
>>97778486This lol, it's so funny that it started as an inq28 type kitbashing art game like turnip, but the nano second they got enough public attention from youtubers content farming it they pivoted to worse than GW level ip faggotry. Hilarious rug pull.
>>97778120Nobody actually likes ww1 beyond the surface level of big trenches and big war. Its also harder to market john the farmer compared to not space marines
>>97779690This might be hard to believe anon but in between the positions you are aware of, the meatheaded chud retard hater and the brainless faggot shill, there exists something of a spectrum inbetween where one is able to disapprove of an aspect of a given subject while still supporting the overall concept.
>>97779755What you're describing is just a self away paypig that's smart enough to know hes' getting raped but paypigs anyway, which is kinda worse than just paypigging while retarded.

Don't make 1-1 copies of their sculpts and art and try to sell them and you'll be fine. People are literally selling proxy models for it as we speak.
>>97780037"you'll be fine...". Thanks for the legal advise. If you make anything that is too good, they can claim it, they can copy your designs freely. If you're too successful, they can C&D you. Their terms are utterly filthy. And they've already they will 'protect their incomes' at all costs.
>>97780145Yeah yeah whatever faggot. You don't play wargames.
>>97769691Box art reminds me of this
>>97779882Paypigging is when you give money to someone that is openly disrespectful towards you even when you know they're abusing you.
>>97780037>Don't make 1-1 copies of their sculpts and art and try to sell them and you'll be fine. People are literally selling proxy models for it as we speak. At the very least they said they're "rewriting" the community license and are not being spastic about takedowns (anymore) so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt but still, considering the previous takedowns and the 180 they pulled on game direction since the kickstarter I am skeptical. For now I will settle with the recently-released raiders proxies and will wait to see if someone makes some good affliction proxies. Maybe when they showcase the other 40% of the box I'll change my mind>>97779541>Why have factory fortress put it up for pre-order if they're not going to show the minis yet?Agreed, the only thing dumber than that is pre-ordering the box now without showing everything in it lmao
I just don't get this box at all. I ended up placing a preorder earlier today when it went up on one of my go-to webstores at a ~20% dicount with free shipping, but even at 100€ I don't think it's a good deal at all for what you're getting, cause it somehow still ends up being a good bit pricier than just picking up 2 warbands by themselves, and you end up paying a premium for a thin book and some other random pieces of paper and cardboard.
>>97770102Barely. You get 10 figures in the Krieg box. The current Krieg KT is 14 operatives. You can technically play with 10, by exchanging 4 operatives for ploys instead, but you'd be playing at a major disadvantage.
>>97782022>I don't think it's a good deal at all for what you're getting>I ended up placing a preorder earlier todayWhy are you like this anon?
>>97782272Doesn't really matter, as I can always cancel back out if I end up hating the information they want to drip-feed me in the coming months leading up to release.
>>97782265Don't forget, they do not sell the Krieg kill team any more. What you can buy these days is the infantry sprues, so you can make 10 troopers, but you are missing the smaller extra sprue with most of the dedicated kill team options, like for the augmented arm, the preacher bits and some of the special weapons. You can still play with that team of 10, and maybe even convert and proxy the specialists, but it really is not optimal
>>97770002Stocks means shit when Blizzard literally taught everyopne that as long as you lie to your shareholders, they will dump money til someone pops up to buy itIn this case Hasbro, veeeeeeeeeery soon.
>>97769691>>97769708Neither one deserves the sales. Just 3d print.
>>97769691I lost interest in GW’s miniatures and games years ago because of their prices (still use their paints though). And frankly, trench crusade just… utterly failed to get my attention. Can’t say why…Maybe it felt too derivative, like it’s trying to be an “edgier” 40k.Maybe the fact that, for the longest time the minis were only available as STLs and I don’t own a 3D printer, nor am I interested in getting one.Or maybe it’s just another grim, cynical setting and frankly I’m getting tired of them. Maybe some less jaded settings, or outright satirical settings would be a nice change.Or… I don’t know, the game didn’t appeal to me then, and it still doesn’t.
>>97782975A 3D printer only seems good in theory. In reality, it would most likely just sit in my basement collecting dust inbetween me just wanting to paint a small batch of minis for play every quarter year.
>>97783304I'm pretty sure that even if you pay someone to print them for you, you're still better off than buying from these two.
>>97779027>>97780037They got caught masking off for the sake of greed; the fact that they published the community guidelines in the absolutely disgusting moneygrubbing state that it's in isn't acceptable even if they walk it back. "Oh, we'll do better" isn't an acceptable stance for a company that's stated intent since releasing those same guidelines is "we have to defend our livelihoods". None of what you've said addresses the fact they've hired third party enforcement companies to mass C&D anyone marketing anything Trench-adjacent regardless of whether it meets their community guidelines or not.>>97779814Trench Crusade published a document called their 'Community Guidelines'; you can find it with a quick google search for the particulars but the TL;DR is that they gave themselves overwhelming and exclusive financial rights to anything and everything Trench Crusade adjacent, including discretionary pursuit of legal action against anyone and everyone they perceive to be stepping on their toes. They published these guidelines with the assurance of "oh don't worry about the legally scary wording, we're not actually going to do any of this it's just to cover all our bases" and then subsequently hired on third party enforcement companies that have cluster bombed an insane amount of legitimate 3d sculptors, even those that still abided by their community guidelines, while ALSO ignoring outright 1:1 model rips of their officially distributed TC models. To anyone on the outside looking in this is a blatant case of an astroturfed corporate bait and switch campaign where investor money backed a project that tried to tick all of the boxes to get all of the chronically weary players in the market to pivot to their product, then mask off and go "HAHA YOU FUCKING MORONS".Anyone that supports TC at this point is a mental midget; pirate their models, redistribute them and inform anyone interested in it how they're even bigger cocksuckers than GW at this point.
>>97783862>pirate their modelsAren't they notoriously faulty, though?
>>97783887Oh yeah, that's a very valid point that I'd forgotten. They're charging premium prices for models that have all sorts of nasty issues for resin printing. IIRC some guy on YT did a comprehensive video where he went through a bunch of lists he'd compiled of each model on sale and what's wrong with it; some of them were alleged to have been fixed and a new version uploaded and that was also disproven so they're on the hook for lying to their customers on that score, too.Still, pirate their models and redistribute them under the supposed truth that one pirated model = one stolen sale. If we all pitch in we can bankrupt them, according to anti-piracy pundits.
>>97783862Didn't the copyright bots they hired strike an artist that had literally worked with them on the project before?
>>97783946One among many, yes. IIRC within the first month of the community guidelines coming out and subsequently being enforced by takedown bots, something like 50+ legitimate creators got smashed while dozens of illegitimate resellers of the official model .stls were ignored.
>every single primaris model looks like shit compared to the firstborn oneshow do they do it
>>97784103The helmets are not nearly as iconic as the MK6 - MK7 worn by firstborn and the weapons are goofy in a bad way
>>97781056Same artist that's why.
>>97779882>>97779755>gets called out for doubling down >TRIPPLES DOWN lmao even If you know its a bad deal, don't like what the company has done but keep buying yes you are a paypig. Don't like being called a paypig? Stop fucking doing it.
Will they ever shad the title of Scam Crusade?
>>97780037>but there is no reason to assume bad faith from FFI at all.>Every issue that has been raised they've apologized for and resolved. This is totally normal for good businesses.nvm this is even funnier.
>>97769691>No Mark IV tank with a demon living in it Dropped in favour of The Last War
>>97786985Last War will soon be DMCAed by TC’s AI. Dead game
>>97769708That's because Trench Crusade is made using outsourced manufacturing, so the Chink takes a cut. Trench Crusade isn't a complete manufacturing business the same way games workshop is, there's no investment in manufacturing infrastructure that will make it sustainable and cheap in the long term and they can't make it inexpensive even if they want to because they have to pay someone else to make it.
>>97769691GWdrones have had decades to convert into better games. Why'd they do it now?
>>97787596Sunk cost fallacy is a big player. But really I think the lore and universe of 40k is what keeps them (including me) in 40k.In my defence I have been looking for systems to still use 40k models that aren't GW. OPR is apparently alright. My problem with Trench Crusade is more so that the fandom has adopted common antics the worst of 40k fans have alongside the hipster-like superiority autism that those in this hobby get when they are outside the GW plantation.
>>97787596Most old school drones still have a breaking point. The game and the lore keep getting worse and worse, so more and more of them are saying "that's enough". Keep in mind they'll still come back like battered wives the moment GW even pretends that it will change.
>>97778424no it has tranny custodes
>>97790254That's kind of the point. Every few years they SAY they quit, but still crawl back the second when GW digs up another moldy chestnut of nostalgia from its coffers.
>>97769691I already converted to a better game, Konflikt 47. I also like Conquest minis better also, though nobody plays the game.
>>97791300>I already converted to a better game>Konflikt 47
>>97791309Still better than modern 40k, though so is taking turns kicking each others balls.
>>97787596GWDrones didn't. Trench Warfare is an investor backed project that hired on a middle-range notable artist and hammered out not just a bunch of new art but also retroactively said a lot of his prior art pieces were kosher for TC. Add to that they came out with mostly developed setting lore and geopolitics as well as a functioning ruleset and it pretty obviously points to this being a case of investors noticing a market opportunity and putting the money into making a new competitor to take other companies' lunch money.
>>97769847That's banned now, dingdong
