Had several years of a story build up with this group, talking like 7-8 yeafs. But it all went to square one with some shit pulled by another player even though it was galaxies away. It felt like a deus ex machina that was approved by the gm

do I just give up with this character? does my gm suck?

honestly considering it is a dark heresy game it fits pretty well with 40k on "getting fucked over constantly" but man

You arnt getting it anon. The shit that the other player did to your character is now part of your character's story. When interacting with others, you don't get to decide everything that happens to your character - shit will happen that you didnt expect and you have to adapt - THAT'S what your character's story is, the way they adapt to changes, threats and opportunities, interwoven into the stories of others, not just what YOU want to happen. Accept the shit, adapt and make the next chapter, while preparing for the next shit that might happen from the DM or other players.
