Welcome to /2eg/, a thread dedicated to all things 2nd Edition D&D related - including settings, lore, modules, and derived systems (Alternity, Buck Rogers XXVc, For Gold and Glory, Hackmaster, Myth and Magic, and more).Since 2e draws heavily from earlier editions, older modules are welcome too. Other media derived from AD&D (such as Infinity Engine video games) also has a home here. It's what you play, not how you play it. RAW or homebrew, as long as your table is having fun, there's no wrong way to play. There's a surprisingly complete 2e fan wiki for rules stuff, it's excellent for quick reference:https://adnd2e.fandom.com/wiki/Advanced_Dungeons_%26_Dragons_2nd_Edition_WikiRemember to keep things civil.Thread Question - weapon speed factors, did anyone even use this rule correctly? How did your table interpret this rule?
What would you guys say is the strength of the second edition, is it the lore and worldbuilding side of things? I've heard it said that ADnD was an exercise in inward perfectionism over marketability
>trying to resurrect a thread that was just the trolls that ruined the /osrg/ generating chatter to bump up a thread to try and seperate out games that are not "pure" enough for their cult version of what the /osrg/ should be.Gross. Same thing happened with the /nsrg/, it just ended up being those trolls talking to themselves after they drove everyone else away.

We used weapon speeds back the last time I played 2e. Worked fine from what I recall.>>97789307Agreed. 2e had the best settings. The only thing that comes close post 2e is Eberron.
