i need everyone to understand that i have been a fat black woman my entire life. every single day. and for years i have walked into my local GW and looked at those shelves and thought: not yet. not for us. the skinny elves. the chiselled space marines. where was i in all of this. where were MY people. at adepticon GW looked at the fat black woman demographic - the most underserved, the most invisible, the most quietly suffering community in miniature wargaming - and said: we see you. we see your curves and your melanin and we are going to put that in resin. i have not stopped shaking. i have been sitting here in the dark refreshing the GW store page just to look at it. just to know it exists. TOWbabies will never have this. they have their little game and their little community but they will never have THIS. they will never know what it feels like to finally, after all these years, be seen.thank you gw.
