>>97802085UPLAND TERCIO HOOO
>>97802225Bother, I think they're a bit overcooked . . .
>>97802085I don't mind 100 slopticas, as long as they are released every week or so. It takes more than a month to add a single unit (regular Whirlwind that we already had)?! Disgraceful!!
>>97802239We need more Orange legions, unironically let him cook
>>97802251>regular Whirlwind that we already hadThis is what baffles me most desu. How do we get 3 different whirlwinds, two of them as DLC content, in one edition. Who is the whirlwind fetishist at GW???
What do you think the best way to distinguish a maniple command titan is? I don't remember the AT rulebook having any heraldry autism like the HH books but I can't check rn. A symbol or a different painted head? Have any anons done anything like this? AT players in my experience care about these kind of SOVL details but I don't recall ever seeing any command markings.
>>97802276>GEEK FEET
>A regular tacmarine won silver sandwiched between 2 PrimarchsBased. Weird seeing a bright, clean Night Lord though.
>>97802261FW should've just made a version of the RT or 2e Whirlwinds instead some weird looking OC donut steel Scorpios. Just like GW did with their HH Whirlwind and Whirlwind Hyperios.>Who is the whirlwind fetishist at GW???We've always had a bunch of Whirlwinds. There was the plastic GW one, the FW one with the tiny box launcher (one used in DoW), the FW Hyperios one with the big box launchers, as well as the FW Exorcist, which was just a Whirlwind with cylindrical launchers.
>>97802312>MkII>phaeton pack>MkVI helmet>MkVI and III padsChoices were made.
>>97802276That a legit or a recast? Looks sexy as fuck, also awesome ket.
Why is it just basic marines and dreadnoughts that get upgrade kits for wargear when everything else gets released with multiple specific sets of options that could easily be upgrades?>Predator but with these four of eight turrets>Spartan but with noclipping quad bolter sponsons>Thanatar but with plasma mortarAnd so on. It doesn't seem as bothersome if you're going to grab the options you want anyway, but dreads are the only split kits that seemingly still get loose upgrade options for some reason. Also what the hell does the Fellblade kit have that makes it nearly twice as expensive as a Baneblade?
>>97802276All titans are pretty rife with heraldry and embellishment, it’s really up to you. Stripes, lots of transfers, banners from the crotch and weapons. Anything at all. It’s really just as ostentatious as you want to be.The legio color scheme is the blue print and then all you need to do is make it one of a kind. For something like the lead princeps of an entire maniple? None of these would be too much: Custom head, custom weapons, 3d printed, converted doesn’t matter. From as simple as painting the head an entirely different color, to doing a freehand mural on the shoulder. Battle honors in the form of kill marks you’ve painted or decal. Any and all of the above.(Not my titans)
>>97802342Don't worry, after a few years those kits will be combined and the price increased by 50%.
>>97802276If its a warlord as the commander, id add the devotional bell to him, even with the shoulder weapons, id still add it. I love the idea of a fucking legit belltower on top of a titan, its just pure warhammer gothic silliness.
>>97802359I'm a bit surprised that hasn't already happened.
>>978022613 whirlwinds? We already had them since 1.0. Hyperios whirlwinds were simply regular whirlwinds with anti air ammo
>>97802338Idk anon I just got that image off Google because my gf always says Warhound Titans are basically cats because the heroic scale ones (I don't actually have one just epic scale) are cat sized and cat shaped. The redditer who posted the titan didn't say if it was recast just that the cat is called Anubis>>97802350Ty anon but this doesn't help my dilemma. I guess I need to think of the maniple name and a symbol or piece of heraldry for it then I can add that to the command titan along with a different printed head and some other variation.I'd it helps it's actually a Warhound commanding either a Lupercal light maniple (with 5 engines 3 hounds, 2 wolves) or that Warhound only maniple idr the name
>>97802312A clean and bright Night Lord is a poorly disguised Alpha legionary.
>>97802256Please 3d print a Trump head on Dorn
>>97802545I think i have the maniple name: Battle Pack Agassian (a type of small, swift hunting dog that Grattius described as immensely brave and true scions of Mars)The name itself is just about perfect but it will be hard to come up with heraldry or a sigil based on what was essentially the Roman equivalent of a Jack Russell Terrier
>>97802225rann-sama going hard as fuck here ngl
>>97802261>Why does the Rhino, famous for being a versatile modular armoured chassis, have so many variations! You would have hated epic back in the day.
>>97803302Whirlwinds and Whirlwind Hyperios are basically the same vehicle shooting different ammo
>>97803302Gimme that Rhino variant that has a Predator's turret and a small transport capacity :^)
You know. I've always liked Lorgar...Not as a person, oh lord no. But as a character. You kinda feel bad for him but then he does something terrible and is such a smarmy little prick about it you can't help but want to punch him.
>>97803324Got the same with Erebus. He's such an unapologetic, scheming, power hungry asshole that you can't help but love to hate him. They don't make bad guys like him any more.
>>97803319What do you mean, they've always had different missile launcher systems.
>>97803115He looks tired
>>97802401please you can't even tell the difference between the Hyperios and the Helios
>>97803324I've come to realize that Lorgar is a Woody Allen type."I hate Woody Allen physically, I dislike that kind of man. I can hardly bear to talk to him. He has the Chaplin disease. That particular combination of arrogance and timidity sets my teeth on edge. He is arrogant. Like all people with timid personalities, his arrogance is unlimited. Anybody who speaks quietly and shrivels up in company is unbelievably arrogant. He acts shy, but he’s not. He’s scared. He hates himself, and he loves himself, a very tense situation. It’s people like me who have to carry on and pretend to be modest. To me, it’s the most embarrassing thing in the world—a man who presents himself at his worst to get laughs, in order to free himself from his hang-ups. Everything he does on the screen is therapeutic."You see this clear as day when he tries to talk with Ferrus. The closest they’d come to an accord was still a memory barely worthy of any family. Lorgar had come to find Ferrus in his forge, working at the construction of something molten, dangerous and undoubtedly destined to be a weapon of war. It seemed all the Iron Hands primarch was capable of. Knowing the spiteful thought was petty, Lorgar had sought to temper it.‘One wonders if you are capable of making anything that creates, rather than destroys.’ He tried to smile, hoping it would rob the accusation of any venom as he stood uncomfortably in the heat blaring from the open furnace.Ferrus had cast a glance over his dark-skinned shoulder and watched his fey brother for a moment, not returning the smile.‘One wonders if you are capable of creating anything worthwhile at all.’ Lorgar’s golden features had tightened, the smile now etched on rather than worn with any sincerity
>>97803470Not without opening the rulebook, no. They are both "the AA whirlwind"
>>97803534Must be hard to be legally blind.
>>97803554It is hard to have deleted the previous two editions from my phone, I can tell you that
>>97803533>We are so elevated above the common Man. I hope we are good for something besides hyperviolence? – asked Lorgar the golden>Not really, fool – retorted Gorgon Killerhands
>>97803648>Lorgar the golden then proceeded to doom mandkind to eternal war and extinctionWell Ferrus was wrong, Lorgar created the worst conflict in galactic history.
>>97803648Best way to explain it is to reverse it.Imagine you are the greatest blacksmith ever and also a devout Christian during a crusade to save all of christandom. You therefore make swords, armour and shields of superb quality and you know each one you forge saves the lives of those on your side. And then your reddit atheist brother comes in and says "eugh why do you always make weapons these days why dont you do something else?"
>>97802085>How many Slopticas should be dedicated solely to making Dark Angels as good as they should be?0. Theyre already as good as they should be.
>>97802327Yea, that choice is called "mkV"
>>97802321Some threads ago I was reminded that the scorpius is just the epic hunter tank so they didn't make it up.
>>97803929Hunter was an AA tank with one launchers (which didn't look like an enlarged RT missile launchers). In one obscure fluff piece did they imply some chapters mounted twin-launches. The Scorpius is a siege tank (because Marines don't have enough of those) and the Hyperios is the AA tank (concept which in the Hunter fluff was said to be sub-par for the task). Saying Scorpius is just the Hunter is like people who said the Votann exo-armour was Saturnine terminators. There can be a kernel of truth in it (and even GW hinted at it), but it's not exactly 1:1.
>>97804478>Scorpius was created to deal with heavily fortified opponentsBut that's already what happened with the vindicator. Fucking Bligh couldn't even come up with something original.

>>97804606thanks, I thought they were in one of the printed supplements for whatever reasonMust be mixing it with 2.0
>>97802276I kind of vaguely recall a mention of a symbol on a singular titan's honor banner indicating their senoris rank, but otherwise there aren't specific command markings unless you want to make some up for your guy in particular. Princeps had some leeway in their Titan's appereance so if some guy wanted a marking he could get one.

>>97803830>Our Lord and Savior cleansed our sins with His blood already. Do we really have no greater call than to keep spilling blood in His name? – Lorgar the Meek asked>Not really, heathen – Ferrus said as he kept forging the death of His doesDon't misunderstand me, I'm team hyperviolence. Lorgar's attitude is not bad per se, but it's not meant to be the right time for that in the setting. Even Ferrus himself thought about a time for peace in some hopeful future that never arrived. But the current time just didn't allow for it.As for Ferrus, "Gorgon Killerhands" isn't a derogatory. That is close to what he calls himself:He grew up in the wild and never had a need for a name. To the creatures around him, he was Death, and he viewed his silvery hands as the mark of a vanquished evil that yet stained him.He would've been dismayed that the locals, his legion and the Imperium knew him for hands that weren't his own. If he cared about what any of them thought, of course. But he cared about Fulgrim's. Fulgrim named him "Gorgon", and he felt that was a fitting name. In his mind, that's what he calls himself.
>>97805135>>97805344Personally, I think Mechanicum in the House Atrax colours would be a better overall scheme for Cyclothrathe than the grey black they normally have. I've could have sworn I've seen official art/models of Cyclothrathe Mechanicum with the Black and Red scheme.

>>97805558>how many people get it wrong. What do they get wrong? (Praying I'm not one of them)
>>97805581Fulgrim called Ferrus a brute to his face and got a smile. Thing is, Ferrus already liked the guy after their bonding over forging killing works of art. "This guy gets me".But he doesn't know Lorgar. He could ask him what you said, and Ferrus would answer back the same way.>Do you think there will come a time when you create something that isn't for war?>I don't know. Do you think there will come a time when you act like the soldier you're supposed to be?Ferrus just doesn't like you until you show him you are as lethal as himself. Autek Mor killed a full Iron Father and took over his clan, and Ferrus' answer?>Skill issue. Don't bother with politicsBro it's your own legion's highest commandAnd those were the good times. It only got worse from there.

Is Escaton powerclaw a good enough weapon to be considered crozius arcanum for my Night Lords chaplain (which will be called Master of Murders)? The bit should be a lightning claw from the Raptors box.
Which TSS and HSS are worth taking? Particularly in a SoH army.
>>97812632Good enough perhaps, but a bit... un-crozier-like IMO. Night Lords? Maybe a big, edgy meathook on a stick instead.
>>97812369Cool dude!
>>97812652With SoH you kind of want to use veteran HSS who have Implacable Advance, then take weapons without the Heavy rule and abuse the fact you get two shooting phases each turn.
>>97812369Wrong thread faggot
>>97812632The escaton power claw is a fist/hammer equivalent, so its a tier above a crozius. But it just doesent look like a crozius and your "chaplain" will not look like a chaplain. I suggest you make a maul or scepter of some sort.
>>97812652Sure? Theyre both good units. SoH make better use of weapons like volkite chargers, but their trait doesent really change many units.
>>97811512Why no one like Abnett? I like him, in fact I got to meet him at games day, got him to sign several books, he even wrote "LET THE GALAXY BURN!!!!" in one of them for me, he was chill as fuck.
>>97812782Don't doubt he's a chill dude (heck, most BL writers probably aren't horrible people)But my personal gripe with Abnett's writing is that he always seems more preoccupied with doing his own thing, and trying to create literature that will impress other writers, rather than make a good story within the constraints of the Warhammer setting.

>>97814240Anon that's a battle cannon. I know they're an endangered species since they stopped being the marine flattener 5000 but it's literally the basic variant.
>>97814315Didnt know there were casemate battle cannons? I thought it was one of those Destroyer Tank Hunters with Proteus laser destroyer or something. Russ body with no turret? Check
>>97814371That's a destroyer (yes, very creatively named), same chassis as a destroyer. I assume using it as a leman russ proxy since I don't think destroyers and thunderers have rules anymore
>>97814371>Didnt know there were casemate battle cannons?I can think of two. The FW stormhammer has a pair of battle cannons on the hull and eons ago there was an alternative baneblade that replaced the demolisher and baneblade cannons with battle cannons. Pretty sure that's what the old IA book was referring to when it was talking about second line baneblades (ones that didn't have the STC for the Baneblade cannon). Later this was changed to refer to things like Macharius.
>>97814390Wasn't there some leaked images of a campaign book that looked like it had a new Leman Russ model with a hull mounted demolisher cannon in the background?
>>97814390He ran this event as solar and they can take the old destroyer and demolisher hull mounted tanks like the absolute chads SA are in 3.0
>>97814390>I don't think destroyers and thunderers have rules anymoreI literally opened the legacies pdf when anon was gaslighting me. They are named as Destroyer Tank Hunter (ugh I know right?) for 130 pts, and Thunderer Siege Tank for 155.>Legacies I think attitudes to non-core stuff will be more accepting than before, considering all the marine HQ loadouts found in there. I don't think it's any demeaning to use stuff from there
>>97814411>StormhammerOh in that case then I guess the Malcador counts, as it's "Hull (Front)" instead of Turret. Casemates are more solid, and yet Malcadors are AV13 to Russes AV14. Eh. I wish we had more World of Tanks autists lol>Stormhammer's top turret is single cannonI should stop paying so much attention to conversions, no matter how cool they are. I recall some superheavies also have two double sponsons? With like one Lascannon on top and twin heavy bolters at the base, and they have two such bastion-sponsons on each side!
>>97814467I'd call the laser version "Venator Thunderer". Seems to me that dedicated laser tank hunters are called Venator (hunter), like Venator Sicarans. I think laser Venators are also called Venator Vindicators?
I'm thinking about starting a 30k Space Wolves army, any tips?
>>97814555Welcome fellow wolf bro, you’re welcome here anytime! Just don’t post primaris shit.
>>97814489There's plenty examples of casemates with wide arcs of fire (like pic related). And there's turrets with limited traverses (such as on many multi-turreted tanks). The simplest difference is that on a turret the gun is mounted to the turret and is turned with the turret. In a casemate the gun is mounted to the emplacement or hull, and turns itself (and any armour plating attached to the gun). This can range from a bunker with a wide firing port to fixed gun like on the s-tank.
>>97814561Didn't say they are. I'm just saying the Malcador's top gun technically is casemate, right?I do believe they are more resilient than turrets because no turret ring. But irdk
>>97814645In IA books it's described as a "limited-traverse turret" and most places defined as a turret mounted weapon.>no turret ringIt's within the housing.
I should really learn brush calligraphy, it would be infinitely useful for mini painting than pens (restricted to banners unless I do something really complex like a jelli stamp). Despite spending 1000s of hours practicing calligraphy with fountain pens and dip pens when I was an annoying little art twink I never bothered with brush calligraphy despite using paint brushes all the time to add colour and even for mini painting at the time. I've played myself lads.
>>97814092what did he mean by this?
>>97814992just look at the dead. even with glasses on from 1m away, even half a meter away, who will in modern times see the difference between a helmet part (size less then half a cm) being at 45 degree and 90 degree.Or if there is, isn't or what size the ball at the side of the models "shoe" is. People obsesse over how models look, what HH version they are from, their size or if they are from w40k, when in the real world an avarge 45+ year old only kind of sees how the models look like from across the table. and you don't see your own side of the table, because your own kałdun blocks the view. And that is when you are 100% unmedicated and without beer/vodka. Some of you younger 30+years old guys spend too much time painting, you look at the models for 40+ hours from 5cm away from your face and you get the wrong idea about life. It is like if you work in a barn, you think the whole world is just shit, mice and dust. truth is, as long as it is painted any model looks like a work of art.
>>97815168
>>97815168Just because you are a legally blind diabetic inbred troglodyte retard from eastern europe with foetal alcohol syndrome doesn't mean everybody else is. Most people are in fact functional human beings that can and will notice even smaller details than the differences between Mk IV and pr*marshit garbage, and will buy separate HH appropriate models for their 30k army without being told or peer pressured into it.
>>97815168That's nice grandpa let's get you to bed
>>97815194And I say that if I put a grey painted primaris and a mkIV grey dude in the same set of terrain, a regular dude will not only not see much of a difference, but often you will not even notice that there are dudes in that terrain pice. You young people are worried about all those strange things, that don't really matter. D size, hight and even crazier stuff when you are really young in your 20s. And mind you I am not above that. I too painted the red cape on my SM Captin with Bionic leg in layer after layer. But in the end those things don't matter. Primaris parts, not primaris parts, it matters as much as that hight or looks. Because what really matters is colour coded bases for ease of identification (green for troops, blue for elites, red trims for characters). Same as in real life no woman cares about your hight in the end, she will out live you anyway. She cares about if you have or don't have 5 flats to rent out at 45+. and if you will get more as your life progresses.>>97815197It is 8:00 here , and as much as I would love to stay in bed or go out to avoid the whole pre Easter cleaning up bonanzna, I have classes ("Chosen Problems in the 20th-Century History of the Catholic Church") and as much as I hate students, I have to be there. Looking at it, it seems like gravis autocannons are really good on miltia russes. 3-4 RS8 breaching shots makes it a good flex pick.
>>97815257>a regular dudeRegular dudes don't play Horus Heresy. Also, shartmaris are HUGE even compared to nu-Heresy.
Did a little more work on the Praetor lastnight. Wondering whether he just looks like he's got a massive head now? I feel like the addition of this head makes him look more like a bog standard CSM than a Sons of Horus praetor
>>97815386Anon this weekend I missed my wife being already in the car. if you think that people see a 45degree flip on an ear flap on a 35mm part of a model, then you either have eagle eyes or obsesses over shapes and sizes too much.
>>97811695>defending BL slop because of 4 booksWhich ones are those?

How many Centurions are you guys using? i am trying to make a 3k list with a praetor, delegatus and a champion but every time i think about adding something cool like some dreads or veteran squads i always need an extra detachment, i know that with logistical benefit it can be fixed but i want to try the other primes benefits.
the Signum Nobilis thing is kind of brainmelting since you can see ones on every single titan banner in official GW titan illustrations and once you grasp the concept its immediately readable with GW always having the rank insignia be correct for the titan it is mounted on but I can't find a single person who has noticed or pointed this out before. I asked, I cared random GW artist who designs banners for AT.
>>97815833>Primes other than LogisticalLogistical's the glue that ties my lists together...and keeps me from bringing multiple Centurions. I don't like that. It's like a Company having two Captains.Likewise, I don't like bringing both a Chapter Master and a Captain.
>>97815833One or none at all. Haven't really felt like I wasn't able to take enough detachments yet, even when fielding four castraferrum dreadnoughts.
I don't get it.
>>97816091That charnodon is way too large, the real one is slightly smaller than a Rhino/Predator. Seen the resin ones personally several times, they look tiny next to a leman russ. This is the main issue that keeps me from pr00nting, the scale is almost always completely wrong.

I'm still so confused by the lack of plastic carnodons.
>>97816209I'm not. GW couldn't even get Steel Legion guardsmen beyond the concept art stage for the Armageddon themed new edition launch of 40k, their flagship game. Their development and production is years behind schedule, and it doesn't look like that is gonna change any time soon.
>>97816236Yeah but look at all the SA shit they did make plastics for. Everything except their iconic unique tank/notrhino
>>97816239Wouldn't be surprised if both got axed.
>>97816239They probably focussed on new toys more in an attempt to get more sales. And I would argue that the leman russ and malcador are more iconic for SA, and those did get plastic models. The aurox and charnodon have been SA knock-offs of marine tanks from the very start. >>97816252Nah dude this isn't 40k. If even fucking tarantula sentry guns got pulled out of legacies with plastic models, there is no way SA tanks are gonna disappear.
Are all of these Void shield gubbins about the same size?
>>97816312the leftmost one seems like it's bigger, judging by the sprue gates, and coarseness of the sand. other two look similar in size, I think?

>>97816236I love that GW is so much of a mess that they made a campaign set in Armageddon, gave the steel legion the squat treatment (except that this time it wasn't nids but the same enemy they've been fighting all this time), essentially reanimated yarrick with a "well we never said he died, just that he disappeared" because no one seems to like the new IG characters in years and then had to scramble to reanimate the steel legion too. All of this was avoidable if they just set the campaign in another place until the new steel legion models were ready.
>>97816820>just that he disappeared" because no one seems to like the new IG characters in yearsMore like they initially had like a 100 year timeskip after Rowboat returned then quickly retconned it to like 10 because it was way too much of a headache and they forgot that people don't have space marine lifespans.
>>97816902That's even funnier then, in a setting where long range communication is difficult and takes time everyone assumed he straight up died just because he didn't answer his messages for a while. He was even given a state funeral on Terra with the great bell being rung, his name getting written in the hall of heroes and all. Also there are rejuvenation treatments in 40k for important people mentioned in the fluff so it's not like him being 2/300 years old would not be too out there which I'm guessing is also something that got squatted then.
Are Contemptor and Leviathan hand sockets the same size, like for mounting Melee weapons?
I'm having trouble deciding which head to pick for my WE dread. Left or middle seem like obvious picks, but the middle one seems to tilt a bit lower on the head socket? Just a weird angle?
>>97817211Could be, I wouldn't take the promos that serious, they're probably held together with blutack.
>>97817211Middle one looks a lot like Red Butcher helmet, so that has my vote.
