Are new editions finally well designed, or you still need to homebrew 80% of "roll checks" out just for people to enjoy playing it?
Reminder that AKS got banned from several websites during its kickstarter because its discord tried to organize brigading on those websites while its designer threatened to sue a website if any mods allowed people to say mean things about him (so the website owner just banned any mention of the game altogether). It's also just a bad bx clone so it wasn't really hard to figure out something was up.
What?
>>97808440>"roll checks"fascinating turn of phrase. where did you hear this?>>97808473good, rpgnet and reddit are for nogames faggots like yourself.
>>97808473cool, no one cares>>97808440ACKS2 is definitely an improvement over ACKS.I like a lot of what the game does, but id rather strip mine it than run it totally raw (im not a huge fan of economic crunch). That said, it does what it does well. The Monster Manual (naming conventions aside) is one of my favorites (it includes % in lair, harvestable parts, costs to train/sell, etc).Overall, its a lot closer to what I wish 2e D&D had become instead.
I wonder where the acks discord went after it got banned from those sites. Think they evaporated?
>>97808567>That said, it does what it does well. The Monster Manual I remember lairs book being kinda let down mechanics wise for first one, especially compared to something fun and simple, but with hundred of uses, like whfbGood to know that it was improvement, there still no digital ways to buy it?
>>97808612lol lmao why the fuck would not being on rpgnet or r/osr affect that in any way? retard>>97808622>lairs book being kinda let down mechanics wisei dont think L&E was meant to showcase mechanics, just a smorgasbord of monster lairs
>>97808440ACKS II is much than ACKS I, but I preferred the previous edition's art and B&W layout.>>97808473>>97808612Hi fishfag, nice to see you here too.The ACKS discord never went anywhere, and you know that...
>>97808902nowhere but up!
>>97808440>you still need to homebrew 80% of "roll checks" out just for people to enjoy playing it?Sounds a lot like D&D.
People who talk about the fandom drama around a game are the same kind of people who talk about the fandom drama around a movie. They don't care if the game/movie itself is good or not, shit they're not even talking about production drama, and therefore their opinions can be safely discarded.>B-but the gooner discordDon't care, won't care, you can't make me give a shit about what the cunts on twitter/reddit/discord say.
>>97808440I've only added an occasional roll under int to know something about low level monsters that would be common in the area. I know naturalism exists but a priestess or bladedancer would hear something at their church.
>>97808440>finally well designed>finally>well designedNah, it's a half-assed B/X clone that repeats the exact same mistakes and errors 1e (of ACKS) had, right down to wrong placement of commas in rules.
>>97813857People are talking about fandom drama, because there is nothing else to talk about. There is virtually no difference from 1e, and 1e was talked to death. So the drama is the highlight of what can be even said about 2e. Think about it.
