Prostitution is the oldest profession. It has always existed and it will always exist. The presence of prostitutes and brothels is crucial for making a game setting and world feel realistic and lived in. Otherwise, it will lack all verisimilitude. So, tell us, how have you incorporated prostitution into your game?
>>
Continuing from OP, in my current game (D&D 3.5) I've made prostitutes a common sight in all but the very smallest towns. Brothels are also found in medium-sized towns and up. The players were a little weirded out at first, but they soon learned to use the hookers as readily available sources of information, as they're always out and about. Now, whenever they run into an issue, they almost always first check out the local brothel or ask street girls for information.

I'd tell you, if I had reason to believe I'd get a discussion worth the time to type it out, or any coherent response at all.

I just finished a document that details the reproductive methods and procedures of every Species in the system. I'll eventually have descriptions for every half-breed option available. The document includes rules for reproduction as well as new options to prevent it or allow it depending on the species and item.

Is it legal to hire escorts

If you saved it off the board, you'd know exactly what it is.
>>
>>97812156
Without going into too much detail, there's a set of images that kept (keep) getting reposted so persistently that people started to notice and get actively annoyed by seeing them. You've managed to picke one of those.

>>97812198
I'm sure Gordon Byron would approve.

Frankly, "escort" is ambiguous, can be a hoe, can be someone with a gun.. can be hoe with a gun even.

Part of the backstory of my character. One of her closest companion NPC was being groomed into into it when they were teens until she was thrown to the street for catching smallpox and "ruining the investment".
>>
>>97812582
Huh, current half elf rogue has prostitution as part of her backstory too. She was basically fucking away her bounty with the captain of the guard in the city she would pickpocket in. She ended up fleeing when that captain was killed and a new guard captain had no interest in keeping up his predecessors agreement with her. Fleeing the city was how she ended up meeting the party.

>>
>>97812683
These threads are spam made by someone who only comes here to spam images he either commissions or finds on artstation. He doesn't play any TTRPGs. He doesn't care about them either. He will only occasionally glance at 5e for ideas on how he can hide his shameful spam under the guise of actually playing a TTRPG. He is a pest that feels entitled to shit up /tg/ and then pretend that he's just trying to talk about worldbuilding, and for reasons beyond our control, the mods have not permabanned him.

Completely incorrect. Hunting is not a profession, it's a method of basic subsistence.
>>

Cafes and Barber shops that exclusively have young boys as servers and shampooers of course.
>>
>>97811889
OP is a fag as always, but here's the answer:
No, because it would be awkward unless you're playing an Erpg, and nobody does that. It's hard enough to get a normal game going
>>
>>97813170
>Hunting is not a profession
>Having sex is
>>
>>97813245
follow up question:
Why would you do it?
Presumably it will be a building with 6-10 women and a fade-to-black if you hire them, is it really worth a mention if none of your players ask?
>>
>>97813254
Having sex for money is a profession, yes. Nothing is exchanged for monetary gain in hunting, making it not a profession. You'll understand how this all works once you're an adult.
>>
>>97813343
>is it really worth a mention
Yes, if you want your setting to have the slightest bit of credibility and realism.
>>
>>97813380

We have observe monkey doing sex work to get food. You don't need money to invent prostitution. Once the monkeys realized the tokens could buy grapes and marshmallows, researchers observed a male monkey trade a token to a female for sex. Immediately after the encounter, the female took the token and traded it with the researchers for food.

In the wild, specifically among chimpanzees, researchers have observed similar exchanges that aren't dependent on human-taught "money".

Pisaura Mirabilis, also known as "bridal gift spider", mating involves male brining food for the female to placate her for the ordeal... which means the concept of sex-for-food technically goes back millions of years.

It's either one guy that the staff doesn't care about, or a member of the staff themselves. It's the same shit for years, same files, same file hashes, same threads, same posts, same trite attempts at being tangentially on-topic, same weirdly identical writing styles in the replies where someone spins an elaborate story that never mentions system, other players, game masters, or anything else.

I really doubt there are prostitutes in a deadly monster and trapped filled mega-dungeon, which is were the current game I am playing is taking place.
Like 95% of places my games in the past 5 or so years take place it wouldn't make sense for whores to be around.

I think about stuff like this while at work but I don't think I have the courage to write it down or actually incorporate it meaningfully in a actual game or story I am writing (I use the same worldbuilding to both game and write shortish stories).

Like it's interesting but would be cringe if someone found it written down.

You can also hunt in exchange for things. Hunted surplus not used for subsistence was often traded.

Prostitutes are a good source of information and mental health. It is known that a significant of men who go to them don't even want sex. They just want to talk about their problems and they have to do the job of therapists.
>>
>>97815372
A meaningless distinction. It's skilled labor like any other. Building rapport, curating a list of reliable and trustworthy regular clients, negotiating sales, and putting on a good performance.

I saw a documentary once about male prostitutes who take female clients. It was fucking sad. Most of their clients were also prostitutes.

Player characters are also well poised to offer that kind of service for supplementary income.
>PCs are often race unusual for the region, that factor alone makes them in demand even with average looks
>PCs are usually powerful enough to deal with troublesome clients all by themselves.
>PCs usually don't linger in one place long enough to draw ire from people running local business on whose income their might trespass
>PCs should be already well equpipped to deal with minor injuries, disease, or any such negative consequence sustained in the process.
And general thrill-seeking nature of adventuring has implicit overlap with thrill-seeking nature of sleeping around. Might as well get paid for it.
