You get what you deserve. 4e was the only edition with actually interesting healers and everyone hated it.

Minion summoning was heavily restricted for the sake of meta-practicality. The "I'm behind 7000 skeletons" shtick works fine in a computer game where the machine automatically calculates and runs everything, but when you're sitting at a physical gaming table with people IRL then every one of your skellies is another entity whose stats you have to keep track of, that has to be added into the initiative order, that gets its own turn, that has to roll dice to hit, that has to compare that roll to ACs, that has to roll dice for damage, and so on.

So the shenanigans that 3.X necromancers could get up to, fun as they were in theory (and even in practice with the right DM), got removed.

Necromancy has some of the best spells in the game you redditfrog spamming retard.
