Anyone who knows Battlefleet Gothic really well, I saw this ship in Battlefleet Gothic Expanded Revised. It seems to be a kitbash of Karrad Vall's ship from the Rogue Trader RPG mixed with a chaos Carnage-class Cruiser, but I can't identify the piece they used for the prow. Which ship has that prow? Thank you kindly if you know.

Man, Necromunda just kicked my teeth in this last campaign. Out of 14 games played like 9 of them I had people die in, and 5 have been 66 rolls. I've lost 20 gangers. What should I even do at that point? Next part of the succession campaign is coming up and it just seems kind of pointless to show up
>>

>>
>>97820431
Excellent taste. I forget which specific path it was but if you want to go out in a blaze of glory there's the one suicide bomber power cawdor has.
Is there anything in particular you feel is getting your guys killed? Have you tried boating smoke grenades and/or blunder poles?
>>
>>97820459
Path of the Doomed is the one with the suicide bombers and yeah that's the one. The biggest reason I'm losing a lot of guys is that I fucked up at gang creation and only bought one champion. On the second week or so both of them got critically injured and neither of them could take eachother to the doctor, so I lost my entire leadership in one game. Honestly I just feel like I've been getting super unlucky with the lasting injury table results.
>>
>>97820474
And on downtime I bought two champions. The very next game, one got memdeath'd and the other got captured and I didn't want to fight the same guy again; let's just say I had 23 tactics cards for that game. Just recently I got an 11 for picking the missions and got to choose, so I just decided to run fucking Ghast Harvest with my opponent and voluntarily bottle when he got close. Spent the 260 creds on another champion who got memdeath'd this last game.

It's necromunda but with vehicle rule (forced too, game had to start with orks on vehicles), and modeling for advantage: Orks are on thin, oval bases like the one on green army men. So you can stack as many of them on a truck, but it they fell off they took damage.

>>97818179
They overproduced, there're lots of vehicles and accessories, even new boyz. Turn out ork didn't sell.
>>
>>97820399
If you guys are playing relatively RAW, it is pointless. The transitions in the succession campaign are very poorly balanced (what a shock!) and moving from Cinderak to Temenos you guys should all just reset gangs, or at the very least do something like rehiring gang members ar 1250+400c. Despite your outlier scenario Cinderak isn't deadly enough to warrant the 2000c starting lists, and any new gangs joining in Temenos start with 1000+400. The gang rating and even crew differences will be in the 1000s for just standard gangs, not even considering new joinees or your situation, or the characters randomly joining up. The move from Temenos to Jardlan is much smoother as those are both 1000+400, but even then if you play RAW any continuing gang will just be radically higher rating compared to a starting gang.
Why a continuing gang also gets 250c on top of everything else when joining into the next campaign is beyond comprehension.

I’ve consider straight up ripping off the plot of dark tide to have some kinda co op sessions in between. I’ve been toying with the idea of palanite enforcers being more of a dm force who breaks up scenarios or makes the gangs work together while still working against each other in some way.

Okay, my quest for a Xenomorph Praetorian gang-boss is going well. Here's what I have so far:

>Nerves of Steel as her skill, to fit in with her Malstrain Genestealer buddies.
>Two Chain Axes for relatively cheap blending.

I'm not sure what armour options to go with, though. So far, I'm stuck between:

>How does it and Dreadfleet play? Is it pretty much the same game? Have a hankering for some piracy
Oh nonono. There's a lot more cards and tokens involved, so much so that you need another table depending on the fleet size. But the games are so much more varied, even if you play with a small fleet. It is really an enjoyable game once it gets going though, with tons of terrain, monsters and land-based scenarios. I really wish that Man o' War got the fan revival treatment of some other games, it could really use some tinkering with.
>>

>>
>>97837884
>Dreadfleet
Dreadfleet sucks, the game is a narrative scenario by scenario reenactment of the story with fixed team. The ships are not equal : 1 main character ship for each side. 3/5 ships on the Dreadfleet side had no sails, which mean they ignored the wind mechanic. 1/5 ships on Grand Alliance teams had no sails.

Games are decided mostly by cards drawn more than strategic planning. There're 2 type of card draw : damage card and fate card. Ships have hull and crew, and having either of these reduced to 0 by damage card is game over, aside from the normal stat loss damage card, there're also a bunch of quirky damage cards like : your ship is on fire again and again every turn (fire : draw a bunch of damage card, can be removed in repair phase instead of restoring stat), your ship take damage again and again every turn, your ship take huge a mount of damage, your ship just died (capsized), and other quirky status damage card that are either minor inconvenient or extremely annoying.

And then there're fate card : fate card made some wacky shits happen, but also determine wind strength and move it around, these affected ship with sails, pushing them and boost their movement, or stall it into a crawl. The force pushing can lead to your ship : run off the map (dead), run into monster/terrain/ships. Fate card also give upgrade! Upgrade that sometime you can't use, and sometimes you can, but it's an upgrade for the opponent. Sometime monsters appeared and attack you, and sometimes your entire team got damage.

Aside from the shitty rule everything is amazing though, from the sweet cloth mat, to the artworks, to the models. I had one unused copy of it.

Fuck rules legal.

>>
>>97819267
Played when I was a kid.
The rules are 2nd ed, necrumunda and some new stuff for boarding actions during chases, rolling tables for scenarios, shooting is less effective than h2h so its not just camping a truck with a big shoota and doing what it says. Campaign play was a lot of fun, kit bashing was encouraged, ramming and collision rules were obtuse but we were like 10-12 so that was likely us being retarded. We had a good time making ork noises and blowing things up, skidding off the map.
It would be fun to do now with the right group. Its easy to cheese like all specialist games so works better with a hobbyist narrative mindset.

Got a very specific Warmaster question.
I would like to build an undead army that can be used as either Tomb Kings or Vampire Counts depending on my mood. Thematically I would like it to resemble the Barrow Kings, perhaps an ancient tomb from Strygos. However I'm not sure which model ranges to use.

I would like it to look like a post-Nehekara, pre-Imperial society similar to Sigmar's people in terms of tech. I think that translates to roughly iron age.

Which of these model ranges do you think gives the best option for my skeletons? Forest Dragon are simpler and have better Vampiric options for Ghouls, ethereal etc. However Cromarty has options for Chariots and Bowmen.

TK and VC don't have much crossover in terms of models. Beyond the basic skeletons, cavalry and characters, the armies won't share any common units. Unless you are doing it for hobby reasons the simple answer is to just make 2 separate armies unfortunately.
Both TK and VC are cool but beyond being undead, they don't have much in common and will play totally differently with different units. VC have 5 different melee infantry profiles while TK only have 1, for example. On the other hand TK wants you to use 4+ units of Chariots in every game which have no equivalent VC profile to count as.

This fleet >>97845615 looks fine. Good mix of weapons. I dont know how grand cruisers play in a game, dont use them because i dislike their side firearcs. But he has massive weaponbatteries.
I would say it lacks escorts or light cruisers but those are just quicker down than cruisers. And is a personal thing of mine for quick hit&run attacks, but they often get easy killed.
I would say nice mix and regarding points easier to move than having escort squadrons with 4 minis.

From what I understand there's the old blue and armada books, which represent the original rules. And then the remastered book which is like the fan compilation of everything plus whatever erratas and FAQs GW put out when they still supported it, which I think is what most people tend to use these days.
IDK if it's just my copy of the remastered rules too, but the book seems kind of unfinished. Several of the admittadly more out there tau, minor xenos, and rogue trader fleet ships don't have art and several places it says refer to the rules on page ??. I looked at some Blood Bowl minis and that got me curious. Are the smaller games Blitz Bowl and Dungeon Bowl good points of entry? I won't play in a league or anything.

I also noticed there's footballs on the sprues, what do you use those for? Just base decoration or do they work as markers?
>>
>>97869687
Blitz Bowl play more like Warhammer Underworld with ball, players died and infinitely respawn while you can also score by follow the objectives on the cards.

The balls on the sprue are use to mark which player is holding the ball. There are rule for the special balls for each team, not sure if new season still had these rules, but very few people use the special ball rule anyway.
>>
>>97869687
>I won't play in a league or anything.
Then why even bother? BB is designed around the league experience. If you want pickup games, go play something else.

The balls are for base decoration. Nobody uses them to mark where the ball is, we use tokens for that. Starter box even comes with one now.

There's also the weird thing of Shadowing being moved out of Agility and into the new Devious skill, which means that several players that used to be decent with it in old rules have straight up lost access to it. But since it was nerfed by mistake in 2020, nobody really uses it anymore.
With the changes to it being a flat 50/50 chance of working it would be an interesting option on big guys... except big guys don't get access to devious skills in the main, with the exception of the Snotling Pump Wagon and I think the Deathroller.

But because they decided to give LineDwarfs basic access to devious skills, this does open up the possibility of an all Shadowing frontline which would be frustrating. Especially if paired with Taunt and/or Eye Gouge.

Short version
>Armada/2002
First big balance pass. Notably imposes launch caps to tame Chaos carrier fleets and Orks firehosing ordnance all over the table. Basically no-one plays the OG rules or this because 2007 has more fixes for 'crons and several other tweaks that make the game more fun. The version that formally separated out sub-factions/fleets from the main ones, which had already started with the Armageddon campaign. Also the most-ignored official rules change
>2007
The last "official" GW FAQ and rules review. Most notable change is fixing all torpedo waves at the width of the old three-strength counter. Some people use this because they object to a few of the 2010 revisions.
>2010
The old rule-writers went back over the game off the GW payroll and revised some things. Biggest changes are upping Escorts' resistance to Assault Boats, and revising ordnance rules to assume all players are using miniatures instead of counters. Rolled in the rest of the magazine stuff and tried to fix/reconcile some issues. Like Bakka.
>Remastered
A compilation of 2007, 2010, and the old forum/mailing list FAQs into one document. The fleet book in particular is still WiP.
In general if you run into a rando 2007 or Remastered are probably what they're running.

>Warp Rift
Very, very old fanzine with a bunch of content. Some good, some bad. Much like the GW rags, really

>Revised
Some of the more involved fans weren't happy that Remastered didn't touch point values or profile options, just compiled older stuff. Revised is the most conservative fan-branch of the rules

>XR
Deeper rules overhaul used by a few groups.

>heresy branches, more extreme revisions
This is mostly stuff that one or two groups are using and got put up on the fansite/Discord in case someone wants to fuck around with them

You already have greeblies and doodads aplenty, more ain't gonna help. The big fleur-de-lys n the other hand ain't really mechanicum. Making the entire prow a bit blockier probably wouldn't hurt. The scale of some of those guns relative to the width of the ship's rater silly as well (rear two weapon banks on the bottom ship), as is the single opening doors for the missile pods just in general. The main guns on the middle ship might also suggest these ships are more titan scale than the 8kkm or so of a "usual" 40k battleship. I'd probably cut off the crenelations too.

Recc: Don't metagame.
Pick 15 models based on "That's cool" THEN look into the rules.
>>
>>97875185
Recommend: 1box of normal gangers at minimum.
Avoid: as a new player do not make one model to expensive, avoid to many hanger ons brutes outof gang stuff.
>>
>>97875185
Just gang box (1-2 boxes) and upgrade. Optional Death maiden and Wyldrunner

You can substitute Death maiden and wyldrunner with normal Escher. Wyldrunners are a bit smaller than normal escher so using them with Escher arm the hand will be bigger, and the arm longer.

Escher's specialty is drug, gas, toxin, and very cheap lasgun. Lorewise they struck gold on production of lasgun, so they produced more lasgun than other houses.

Equipment wise they're good in both melee and range, having access to all the generally great weapons like : plasma gun/pistol, Boltgun, Grenade Launcher (had to use bit from other kit),chainaxe, chainsword, power sword.

They don't have the uber exclusive weapons like other house like phase sword, or paired weapon, but they got toxin stacking, which made their weapons just as deadly. It's one use per battle per fighter so it can get really expensive. Good thing is the weapons that used toxic ammo are fairly cheap, and you can pay a fairly hefty sum to hire the Apprentice Clan Chymist to reduce the cost. Just avoid taking maiming toxic ammo, it's ... too good and it made you a dick for using it.

They also had some fun trickery in melee with their finesse exclusive skill. The most notable one is Combat Virtuoso, which turn some weapons into range weapons, giving Escher a unique build.

And Escher can also play zoo with Wyldrunner and Phelynx. This is kind of a meme and not recommended for new players, the phelynx are expensive, which made them and their Wyldrunner owners nice targets for the enemies and liabilities for you. You also controlled more unit with more rule reference so it'll just make your game much longers.

That's pretty much almost all the options for Escher, you can pick 1, or multiple. If you went heavy in toxic (or zoo) get the Death Maiden box, so you get more needle pistols. Oh yeah there're gas weapon, it's toxin but aoe, and your opp can buy gears to counter, so it can be used to cripple other gang's economy.

>All the talk about BFG, is it easy to learn?
It's about the lightest a naval wargame ever gets. The basic rules covered 18 very sparse pages in the original book, with a dozen more pages of advanced rules for boarding and scenario-specific stuff. It's got a clear, simple escalation to teach you how to go from a simple two-ship Cruiser Clash all the way up to running ladder and map campaigns across an entire subsector. Even the Remastered rules' massive page count is mostly play examples and art. Some fleets *are* harder to learn than others, so you should probably start with Chaos or Imps to get basic principles, but anything is viable. Even Orks. If you play Necrons prepare to be punched in the face

>Rules
If you hit up horizon-bfg (dot) infinityfree (also dot) me there's links to starter kits with all the stuff you need to learn how to play. Including proxies.
>non-physical teaching aids
It's very easy to find the old VASSAL module or the newer Tabletop Simulator stuff if you poke around. You'll still need the rulebooks
>Minis and play aids
Look for "fleet" on basically any 3dp site. You can find asstons of STLs, including the Order Dice and counters. Likewise there are a bunch of Crimson Skies-style paper standees to use for proxies. BF:G doesn't actually use the miniature for anything other than target recognition, the center of the base is the "model" for rules purposes. Many of the custom lasercut/engraving places still have the markers for sale, and if not they're easy to print and cut on your own. There are German and British sites selling physical proxy minis as well; I added a bunch of them to the /awg/ miniatures list down in the Navals section, and Italianmoose keeps a list of all the 3DP stores that have stuff.
Notably: Ramshackle Games has a three-ship set of two Ork escorts and a Rok. Vanguard Minis has some excellent physical models, with Marines, two flavors of Imps, AdMech, and a few Chaos escorts.

I think the best way I can explain how balanced and solid the gameplay feels, is that whenever I run a demo with Imp and Chaos fleets both sides walk away feeling like they got away with something. Imps have torpedoes to funnel enemy movement, matching speeds, and heavy armor on the nose to get them into battle, plus heavier broadside firepower. Chaos are faster and can get more guns on any one side, but they can't afford to dive in and slug it out as easily, and Chaos ships tend to get strung out if you don't ride your movement carefully. So it sort of organically creates tactics (Imps want to dive into the middle and slug it out, Chaos wants to flank and pick off the wounded) so intuitive players often work it out by themselves as they're in their first couple games.

Toxin isn't one use per battle. You have the effect for the entire battle.

Clan Chymist is a fantastic investment as not only does she make your chems cheap, she also has the fixer skill so gets you d3*10 creds after every battle
>>
>>97875185
I haven't played Newcromunda for a while, and they were always patching it, but when I was playing Escher I found "Leap Up" to be the absolute gold standard skill; if it works the same way it should make you an absolute pain in the arse to fight at range.

The way it worked (and I presume still does) is that you make an Initiative test, and if you succeed, you get to stand up for free.

And of course, Eschers commonly had 2+ initiative.

If they haven't patched that out, it's very abuseable.

It was the only reason I could compete with my friend's overequipped Goliaths during our campaign that massively overextended, that nigga had a Boltgun on everybody.
>>
>>97880038
Getting outgunned by Boltgun Goliath had to be the most embarrassing thing to happen. All you had to do is hiding behind a cover. Gunliath can definitely slap, but with the grenade launcher, not botlgun.

Also Rapid fire weapon only roll 1 dice to hit. Maybe you and your friend were playing wrong the whole time.

What kind of campaign is it? Assuming 1k starting, indoors campaign, go for 8 starting fighters, 1 leader and 2 champions. Basic gangers with a lasgun are cheap and effective.

If I'm reading the necromunda gang creation rules right, I can have as many champions as I want as long as I have less of them than I do gangers and juves?

Equal to or less. But they're more expensive, and generally require more expensive equipment to make worthwhile than regular gangers, hence the usual calculus is 1 leader + 2 champs at gang creation.

3 champs is possible but you need to play really sweaty with less geared char, or less credit for medical escort. Now everyone in your gang is valueable because the margin to break the champ/non-champ balance is tight. The traditional 2 champs start is a lot more relaxing and you can afford to sacrifice more gangers to bad rolls.

WELCOME TO THE LUSTRIABOWL MOTHERFUCKER

Starting a new one-off tournament at my local club with Blood Bowl 7. Played the new High Elves against Lizardmen.

In the first half, six turns in BB7, the elves had the upper hand from the start. Event table ended up with a prayer to Nuffle that gave the High Elf White (Yellow) Lion the Pro skill. Unfortunately, he then spent practically the entire time getting beaten to shit by the Kroxigor, but he was never taken out of the pitch. A lot of tussling but no scoring, and in the last drive five elves got together to both beat and foul the Kroxigor after he got separated from his team. He was sent out in a stretcher, but came back immediately from being KO at the start of the second half!

Lizardmen got dangerously close to scoring, one Skink managing to do several dodges on a row with the scoring zone in sight and range. Unfortunately, his last dodge failed and he ate grass. Elves went for a deep penetration with the Dragon Princes, but the Lizardmen managed to hold the ball securely on one edge of the pitch without Elves being able to do much about it.

Game ended on a 0-0, with two skinks on KO and one Saurus dead. Elves only had one Dragon Prince that was mauled by the fans, but only suffered a KO.

I am going to get myself some boots of Kroxigor leather if it's the last thing I do.

He ran 1 Krox, 3 Saurians, 3 Skinks. I think if he only had one Skink he'd have a pretty damn hard getting hold of the ball with their AG of 5. They can't even secure it.

Amazons are definitely a pain, tho.

I Am not really going for anything but what looks neat, but I am really looking at the Corsairs player and thinking, what is the point of the Shadowhunter compared with the corsair escorts?
Is there something I Am missing? Having a normal lance is neat but when you look at torps + pulsar destroyers on the other team you get a bit jealous.
>>
Overseer is the leader trait to get right? I'm having some trouble deciding on what to give my gang champions. It's cawdor, Firebrand #1 has a blunderpole and is melee oriented, not sure if I should go with rain of blows or maybe step aside. #2 has the crossbow and ideally he'll hang back with the long rifle specialist so I'm not sure what to do for him since their skills are close combat oriented
>>

>>
>>97892958
Vehicles are fun.
>>
>>97892693
Overseer, commanding presense and mentor are the 3 common skills for leader.

Polebuss is a pretty terrible close combat weapon, you bought it for the torches, they're close range fighter but you never wanted them in close combat, if you want cawdor melee either buy the greatsword or go to TP and bought chainsword or chainaxe, which conveniently also available to Redemptionist champs (but not the greatsword)

For long range the Deacon with Grenade Launcher is the better option, being able to provide support with smoke. Problem with crossbow is that it's too expensive, unwieldy, and-1, and you still need someone on smoke duty.

>Wait a minute, so Redemptionists are just better at everything?

Not everything, but they got lots of good shits, like chainaxe on everyone, a cheap flamer, and primary access to Cawdor exclusive skills. Redemptionist-heavy gang still want cawdor for devout masses rule. Being law abiding gang (by having more cawdors) is more beneficial. Cawdors are still king of the torch (flamer), and king of the conversion due to their raggedy and orky aesthetic. There're way too many ideas for making your own custom polebuss and greatsword cawdor.

It's fine to just use cawdor or redemptionist exclusively, but unlike other gangs, cawdor got redemptionist as their expansions instead of the normal extra champs. So why not utilize all your assets? It's more fun, and flavorful.

>Is there something I Am missing?
5cm extra speed upwind, their gun escorts match that speed, and they're virtually immune to bombers and A-boats. But also part of a different fleet entirely. The Craftworld list is meant to be tougher and more cruiser-focused than the Corsairs, the Shadowhunters complement that by giving the Eldar a tool for intercepting attack craft, Tyranid swarms, and torpedo waves that isn't wasting Eagles. It's kinda the same reason the Falchion is the worst Imperial frigate. GE wanted a light Eldar destroyer, the main roles (lance and battery horse) were frigates and the other destroyer was packing 2 torps and a battery. One pulsar lance = 5 shifty-batteries on a frigate, one regular lance roughly = 3 batteries on the DD. Makes sense from the game designer side even if it's frustrating from the admiral's side of things.
>>
>>97890249
They can't really ruin it, as everyone's usually completely fine with the arb house ruling things. The thing that would "kill" necromunda is a limitation of costumization to what's in the box. No TP etc.

It's a meme list, pretty much all wrecker list, meme and whatnot, bring grease monkey. Smoke grenades are nice to have but almost redundant if you simply zoom into some corner out of sight, then pop out next turn for the blind charge. Yeah and you'll need the extra grease monkey movement for that.

Have a catchup mechanic between phases (or at least free bounty hunters) since dominion tends to snowball
Have a house rule where a model can only sustain one lasting injury roll per battle (no meltas instagibbing left and right)

>>97894726
My plan is to give them better gear during the campaign. Chainsword + fighting knife is good enough for starting gear from the earlier campaigns i've been in.

Grease monkey is on the list of hangers-on to hire once the campaign gets going, though from earlier campaigns he isn't a top priority. I find that the extra 3" of safe movement increase is enough for most situations before the downtime break.

In modern Necromunda, is there any way to make Chaos Helot gangs be on par with "House Of X" gangs without going "Ooops, All Familiars" or running a Old-cromunda style campaign and taking away everyone else's fun toys?
>>
>>97899286
The best way to play Chaos Helots is to play HoF Cawdor and fall to chaos after the first game.
Chaos Helot and Genestealers cults are so severely underpowered when compared to House of gangs that it's not even funny.

Current book is Tribes of the Wastelands. They're not a meme gang. Their main playstyle is ambush with their hide abilities, can be combo with gunshroud and their exclusive skill, making them pretty annoying and a counter to shooting gang. They got Warrior spirits, which give them various buffs and trickery in battle. And lastly, they got cheap pets, making a zoo/beastmaster gang possible.

Downside is that they had pretty meh weapons and they had to used their nomad trading post which had really limited things to sell compared to the normal TP, and the pets for their zoo playstyles are very expensive, 3d print if you want to play zoo.

>>97899286
>"Ooops, All Familiars"
Nope, this is ancient and was faq'ed a long time ago, Familiars are hard once per ROUND now, making it mostly useless thanks to chaos cult overall terrible willpower stat, and you can't stack em anymore, other than finding a really big miniature and use it as meat shield. The funny things is chaos corrupted gang is better than chaos helot cult because they got the "immune to insanity" to everyone, while chaos helot didn't have it on gangers.

Also, Chaos Cawdor lose article of faiths, making a fun gang into a bland one.
>>
Is there any reason anyone would play Van Saar with the new trading post rules? Everyone is just gonna insta-speedrun Reflec Shroud+Armored Undersuit+Ablative Overlay and have a 2+ decreasing to permanent 4+ vs every ranged weapon Van Saar bring to the table.

use mundamanager

They don't have much choice in weapons : blast carbine, and long rifle for ganger, long rifle is basic weapon for ganger (and not champ/leader), so they can use gun shroud on it. High tier range weapon are web gun and charge caster. For melee they got mono-hook and long blade. Most shadar hunter weapons suck except for the trident, so you end up waiting a game to get the long blade or mono hook from trading post. Chain lance is usable but way too expensive for early game, but it's Nomad strongest close combat weapon in late game when you had spare cred for suspensor.

Question. I've bought the necromunda Hivewar box, Orlock gang, and Weapons kit, and I'm going to start learning to play with my mates in a few days. If we decide to stick with it, what should I get to expand off those boxes? What other terrain, rulebooks, and kits should we look into?

>>97901267
To be the guy: That is the good and bad part about Necromunda. Terrain get whatever (selfmade is usually the best). Right now for you something with elevation would be good for game mechanics, for fitting looks it would be the Marketplace. Regarding models, you have a good core (second box gangers can't hurt) from here on out just go with what you would like to test out, gangers, hanger ons, specialists with pets/jetpacks/bikes or other weapons. Just what tickles you the most. Rule, Core rulebook first (better NOW BEFOR learning the rules in the hivewar box) and the book house of iron (orlock basic rules) afterwards is way to complicated for my pea brain.

Terrain : DIY or if you really want to buy from GW, the only affordable one is kill team kill zone.

Orlock + weapons is pretty much everything you need at starter, because Orlock had the best weapon kits. Once you get the hang of the game get the Wrecker box, these are the best Orlock unit, but they are a bit chaotic for learning games.

Rules : necroraw.com.ru. The gang list from Hive War book unfortunately do not match the rest of the game, it existed in its own Hive War dimension.

>What else

Since you got Hive war, get Delaque weapon, and then Natch-ghul. Delaque base kit (the one you get from Hive war) mostly come with pistols, so you'll get a meme gang without extra bits. Escher should be fine with there base kit, but Weapon upgrade is recommended, Deathmaiden is Escher gang expansion but they're not as crucial as Natch-ghul for delaque.
>>
>>97902288
Death Maidens are super fun and I highly recommend them for all Escher players
>>
>>97900917
>another thing that you probably didn't notice is I'm starting to get the boomer eye. I don't need glasses but I made the text on my computer boomer huge so I can read the screen from father away so I don't get eye strain because the beginning of boomer eye and the mcmaster-carr website auto scales perfectly and isn't weird at all even with retarded user settings
I didn't notice because I've upped scaling on my small laptop as well, for similar reasons. And since it went unnoticed, it probably works as intended.

You can make your death maiden and Wyldrunner models from the normal escher, and normal escher models look better than Death Maiden anyway. The kits still give you the Phelyns, pairs of needle pistols. But would i recommend new player to pay 50 buck for meme cats and right arm needle pistols? probably not. The escher upgrade already gave you Left arm needle pistol, so the alchemy toxic ammo build works just fine, if they like Escher and want more pistol? then yeah buy the kits. If they don't? Well that's 50 buck saved there.

You legit run them like a basic bitch gang because they're actually good at being normal.

5 credit lasguns means a ganger with a lasgun is extremely good value and upgradable with a hotshot pack. Leaders and champions are mixed melee/ranged fighters in the classic fashion. Rugby is too complex and dynamic. Gridiron is such a simplistic turn based sport as it is that it's simple.

Also how would you balance scrums/line outs? They would be auto wins for ogres.

Do you have any blood bowl stuff? if you play NAF style Amazons usually can't take a starplayer and even if they could they banned the GOAT build with Roxanne Darknail at least 6 years ago. you want the team box, probably at least 3 more line women which is annoying cause I don't think they sell miniboxes but most zon builds are
2 blockers
2 blitzers
1 thrower
7-9 line girls, though there is an argument for going 2 blockers, 1 blitzer and 9 line girls since you can start with 3 rerolls and an apo that way.
you generally want a coach mini, a team mascot mini and then possibly a cheer leader or 2 and an assistant coach or 2 and there are only so many star players out right now like the zoat. I'd say the star player thing depends on league vs res but for tabletop specifically you want minis for the coach, mascot and any other sideline staff you are carrying because people generally like the sideline minis for the hobby stuff

Very nice collection. I like the design of the manual. But i dislike that their rules are differently collected/written. And i would like their xtra rules and weapon datas before the ships.
Interesting races, i am not so sure if most of them are more like Imperials with slight extra rules. And Votann and Demiurg are the same race. Votann is just a different fleet configeration than their own race.
And i am not so sure if you need those various Xenos ships.
>>
It's weird, but I guess not weird due to the whole
>all the positionals need to come in the box
mandate how a lot of teams are being forced into similar niche's/playstyles
Like Amazons, Undead and Orcs (and to a lesser extent necro) all revolve around the two ST4/5 players with the Orcs and undead having mb on the 2 strong guys. And then you have humans, rats and all 4 elves basically running with 2 blitzer 2 catcher style rosters with the only real difference being the Dark Elves have the shittiest thrower out of all 6 rosters and they are the only ones with an extra nonbig guy positional
Like the current rules really homogenize teams both in terms of making it so different races are/play super similar and the skill up system makes it so in progression every one is just going to take the same skills since you can't get random stats/doubles and because doubles are so much worse now outside of block

Is Wrestle that optimal on the Blitzer in Zon's? I just started a team in my local league, and so far all I've managed to do is give one of them block.
>>
>>97916458
you can go either way. the amazon blitzers have jump up, like witch elves, so they can still do their entire movement from the ground so being put on the ground isn't that big of a deal. but I'm sure the main motivation for wrestle in that context is the lack of tackle and the way those rules packs work block is more expensive since it's an elite skill so you can't fit as many block skills on the team
In that rules pack you get 140k for skills and 20k for flowing funds so he spent

>30k block
>20k on break tackle
>+10k to stack it
>30k on guard
>30k on block
so that's 120 on 4 skills, if he took a 3rd block he wouldn't be able to afford leader. Plus wrestle is as good vs blodge as block tackle.
here are the current top black box Amazon teams, some of them have wrestle blitzers
https://fumbbl.com/t/1268127
https://fumbbl.com/t/1269182
https://fumbbl.com/t/1268374
https://fumbbl.com/t/1267407
https://fumbbl.com/t/1270260
and then here are the Amazon teams from the top 2 (6?) divisions on super league
https://fumbbl.com/t/1262983
https://fumbbl.com/t/1262984
https://fumbbl.com/t/1261902
https://fumbbl.com/t/1263551
So wrestle on the blitzer is somewhat common in progression but it's super common in res because it's hard to get the skills to fit otherwise due to the 10k premium block has
I wouldn't make them both wrestle, btw. I'd make one block and then go stat fishing and grab mighty blow if I got something really bad like + pass or something and then make the other wrestle tackle
I'd do
block, break tackle, mighty blow, tackle on one big girl
block, guard, stand firm, mighty blow on the second
block, stat fish on one blitzer
wrestle, tackle on the other blitzer
leader, block, sure hands on the thrower
and for the line women I'd grab block if it was super early in the league and I'd grab wrestle if it was mid season or later
>>
it's kind of funny how teams need to take max troll slayers and put guard on them because OWA and dorfs need the guard caddies when historically you took 1 or 0 troll slayers and put like MB/juggs on them since troll slayers are just really antisynergistic with guard

So in BFG, a marine strike cruiser can swap out its 30cm firepower 3 bombardment cannon for a 30cm strength 1 lance for 20 points. But the lance is worse. It's objectively worse than the bombardment cannon, the bombardment cannon does the exact same thing (always hits on a 4+) except it gets crits way more often and can add more dice to its pool depending on the target on the gunnery table. What the fuck is this? Why would anyone take this? Is there something in the rules for lances I'm missing?
>>
>>97919958
I never understood that either. There's a small number of weird things like that in the remastered book that otherwise does a fantastic job
>>
>>97919958
Lances ignore blast markers, but I don't remember how many gunnery table right shifts it takes to drop a strength-3 bombardment cannon shot to 0. It really shouldn't cost extra to switch them for a lance.
>>
>>97916844
You mean something already textured and/or painted? None that I know of. If you just want 12"x12" tiles to work on top of there are a number of options for that (ceramic tile, wooden cradle canvasses, expanded PVC sheet, plasticard sheet, etc.)

A word of warning, though -- I find modular tiled boards kind of shitty for Mordheim and Necromunda because it means every player has a bunch of 12" rulers everywhere on the board to consult at any time.

I prefer pre-measuring systems, but Mordheim and Necromunda come from the non-premeasuring days (and their rules are built around guessing ranges, like missing ranged shots or charges declared outside of max range etc.).

Marine players kept screeching for lances despite BCs being better in most cases and lances being against the fluff. So the head of the rules committee said "fine, here's your lance option, fuck off" in proper Bryan Nystul monkey paw style. As far as advantages go? It's LFR and ignores blast markers on the target, so it mathematically adds around two or three extra guns to the bombardment turret cluster. But it's still strictly worse than the torps or bays, and intended to be so.
>>
>>97921674
the lance ignores blast markers and doesn't add shit to the firepower, it's less dice than the prow bombardment cannon it's replacing, is less likely to do critical damage, and is mathematically identical to the lance seen on the nova frigate. You are paying 20 extra points for an escort lance. It's pure shit by design.

World cup rules, won't someone think of the poor dorf players?
you can also downgrade the block on the thrower to leader and drop the mascot and get a 13th long beard and an extra nonelite single.
or you can drop the mascot, upgrade one of 2 guard long beards to a guard troll slayer and you get 8spp which you can spend on either putting block on the second runner or a second nonelite skill like stand firm on one of the blitzers since they can have one stack.
It's so fucking weird how much people were crying about teams getting nerfed when I think Undead and Skaven were the only 2 teams to actually get nerfed, maybe dark elves too but the assassins got buffed. The fucking dorfs are just like they always were and orcs and humans got buffed

first week of our new Necromunda league tonight. Had about 10 tables going with me at a 4 players one. Mission was the one with a random fighter starting in the middle and every gang having an icon to not let be defiled. I'm playing squats and my poor mining laser got stuck in the middle with an enforcer champ, an escher juve, and a spire monster. Was a fun game. Myself and the enforcer player came out with the "win". Made off with a little over 200 credits and I'm not sure what to get next. Another ironhead autogun guy seems like a good idea if boring.

>the lance ignores blast markers
Said that.
>doesn't add shit to the firepower, it's less dice than the prow bombardment cannon it's replacing
That's why I said "effectively", retard. One guaranteed extra die from the lance is the equivalent of between one and five dice rolling on the battery table, depending on the firing aspect. Guess what the bombardment cannon do.
>is mathematically identical to the lance seen on the nova frigate.
>It's an escort lance
It's on a 2 shield, 6 HP, 6+ armor cruiser that doesn't pop on a 4+ when an A-boat hits it or eat two rounds on a 5+ and go boom. So no, it's not. The Nova's lance is also absurdly good for an escort. It and the Warden (which started as an unofficial Forge World/power creep ship) are the only escorts in the game with an L/F/R lance despite the Idolator literally having a turret, and it was widely assumed to be a mistake when the list was printed. Not least because the model doesn't have a flexible mount.

>[the Strike Cruiser lance] is pure shit by design.
