So you play em?
What units in your armies do you think won’t be making the jump in the reboot? What units do you want to be added to your armies in The Last World?
>>97828370 Empire, retard
>>97828345>TQ>What do you think about your preferred faction's centrepiece named model(s)?Lady of vines and Belthanos are extremely cool, both model and lore wise. I’m kinda iffy on arielle though, don’t get me wrong I love everything surrounding her, but as a character herself she could use another look at. Her model also is kinda just, well I get the idea they were going for, but both her and drycha feel like they belong in another army, the rest of the 2016 range, including the treelords, are all in symbiosis with each other. >do you play them Going to paint up the lady of vines to play her but beyond that, probably not unless the next ghb does a big shake up.
returning player hear needing pdf of the new generals handbook . Can any body shear it ?
>>97828407Have you heard that the setting is being squatted?
>>97828352I don't think any units are going to get squatted uniquely because of the rebooted setting. Maybe some character models, but it also seems like they're just going to have every mortal with a model just get put in stasis or timewarped 1000 years since that apparently happens to tahlia vedra.Feels like kind of a bad sign for your reboot if you're just dumping a bucket of mortal realms characters in it, detached from all their unresolved previous plotlines and the places that defined them.
>>97828407sorry but it'd be a total waste to shear my copy
>>97828412I think it will bee rebrand not squoted .... beside i hev nurgle deamons so i can start ToW >>97828414You are poore gold , may the hevens bless you and all you kids
>>97828434The setting is definitely being squatted, with surviving characters not even remembering the mortal realms. But I don’t think any models will be squatted
>>97828412Oh no, I'm very attached to it! I love the works of Josh Reynolds that GW ignores and retcons after he left
>>97828352i see the thing they were doing of TOW > TLW, but the idea of rehashing a bunch of whf shit and renaming your setting to something one letter off what you call the current whf line is such an insane idea lol. i would bet money the preview presenter guys will slip up and call it the wrong name at least once a stream
>>97828440so just rebrand / rename / restart . For me lore squoting isnt a thing and the only squoting is when a model/range become unplayable ass gout men in Aos ....
>>97828453You seem to have a really lovable form of brain damage. I hope the neurologists don't squot your tumor. <3
>>97828453>squotingstop that
>>97828440>>97828413The idea of the new anvilgard freeguild guy being teleported into a different world 1k years in the future, wandering around yelling about how he hates aelves because of a city he doesn't really remember and noone else has heard of is so stupid that i hope it's true. Turning anvilgard into agartha or something
>>97828475That’s honestly hilarious.
Is there a meaningful difference in the actual play experience between a highly optimised competitive list and a thematic narrative one at a casual club level, or does the gap only really show up in tournament contexts? Trying to calibrate expectations before committing to a build direction because I don't want to spend months painting an army I love only to get tabled every week and kill my enthusiasm entirely. I've seen people argue both sides. Some say casual clubs self-regulate naturally because nobody wants to be the person stomping newcomers, others say the gap between a min-maxed list and a thematic one is large enough to make games feel lopsided regardless of the social contract. When I was prepping my wife's bull the other day he seemed to think it depends entirely on the specific club culture and that you should lurk a few sessions before committing to a list direction.
>>97828484spear head
>>97828475if there's a character that's going to become a generic dude, that's him
>>97828493That'd be crazy, he'd exist as a character for less than six months, die, then you'd have another generic foot freeguild hero with a small companion model who'd lack any optional bits and be plastered with iconography from a city completely irrelevant to the new setting. Why would they even have made him in the first place?
Does anyone have the warclans book? If so, could you please upload and link it?
Reminder that Sigmar isn't confirmed dead. Leakers saw in universe chaos cult propaganda in the core book, and spread it like it was an internal GW document. Archaon is missing alongside Sigmar, and no one actually happened to either of them.
>>97828512>he'd exist as a character for less than six monthsThe Last World is still more than a year out.
>>97828475That sounds fantastic. I hope they do that .
fucking found it, I knew I wasn't crazyhere's the mention of walking steam towers in the empire of the old world
>>97828528>castles of bones to form from the mass graves of ancient battles>thousand cannons>miles long lines of infantry >hundred dragons>flocks of gryphons>magical flying galleons>a thousand times a thousand menThat doesn't read like warhammer fantasy, must be 8th edition.
>>97828528WHF had some crazy stuff, it's just that most people didn't look past the models on the tabletop. Storm of Magic had flying castles and shit too. The End Times novels has Empire researchers discovering electricity and using radio communication.
>>97828528AI crap
>>97828528Well, where does it come from?>>97828545Sovlfvl high fantasy
>>97828512>That'd be crazy, he'd exist as a character for less than six months, then you'd have another generic foot hero with a small companion model who'd lack any optional bits 'member grukk facerippa? The only anvilgard iconography is a small medallion, in a faction that already has lots of random animal heraldic devices. And who knows, maybe he will never become an independent release and will stay stuck in the spearhead boxset as an exclusive miniature until it's time to put that out of production.Anyway the existence of this character can make sense as long as we have any sort of development around the city of anvilgard during the campaigns at the end of the edition; and I wouldn't discard that.He could be a short lived character with a bittersweet victory to his short lived name.
>>97828512>>97828571Poor fella is getting belegar'd
Was thinking about making tassels for fusils, feels like it would clash though
>>97828561NOOOOO ITS SUPPOSED TO BE MUDSLOP
>>97828561one of the first pages of the 8th ed rulebook they were very much trying to make warhammer larger in scope at the time
>>97828603>flying galleons held aloft by sorcerous pacts >wooden beams
>>97828610That just tower there even gave a terrain example>>97828603What's with the Guy on the platform on Poles?
CAM ON ARCHIE KILL SOME FAKKEN GAWDShttps://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/hsxyww8f/warhammer-art-through-the-years-slaves-to-darkness/
It’s always when models go to legends that I get to see other peoples sovlul conversions of stuff like the cities mages back when allying existed, or in this case, steam tanks. (Not mine, shamelessly stolen off of Reddit)
>>97828603>>97828610I'm going to bet the ships were meant to be flying in the artwork but the idea got shut down so he just suspended them in place with pillars and ropes instead of removing them.
>>97828640>Warhammer community logoThe piece is ruined
>>97828640Is that piece actually for age of sigmar? Kinda surprised if it is. Also there’s so much better art of slaves but I think they’re not into the idea of showing them with more than 2 factions, or even more than themselves at all really. I hope blades of khorne at least gets that one art work of them fighting idoneth.
>>97828648Gallagher did do plenty of AoS 1e artwork, so I wouldn't be surprised if it just from a very early book
>>97828587>>97828603>this is the grounded setting I've been telling you about
>>97828571>grukk facerippaHe's the same as Druanti the Arch-Revenant, just a name attached to a generic model for the event and box he was introduced with. Jorvan has the kraken shit all over him and is being introduced as a new character from a newly revamped faction with very few of them, first available in that spearhead thing
The more I think about the idea of the last world and its 1000 years timeskip the more I come to the conclusion that many of changes we've seen over the course of these 10 years of aos should be retconned as happening mainly during the timeskip instead >mortal realms: jolly cooperation cities>last world: castelite reformation cities>mortal realms: small sized king brodd>last world: mega sized king brodd>mortal realms: fatcasts>last world: slimcasts>mortal realms: divided dwarf factions>last world: khazalid empire reunion >mortal realms: spirefall lumineth>last world: teclian reinvention lumineth
>>97828715>>mortal realms: jolly cooperation cities>>last world: castelite reformation cities>>mortal realms: fatcasts>>last world: slimcastsThese are the only ones that make sense.
Anyone got the new Grombrindal anthology?
Secondary here, wondering when it comes to playing the game if I wanted to start collecting is a good part of every faction's roster generally viable or do I need to build specific cookie cutter lists?Specifically, If I wanted to play as the witch elf faction could snakegirl spam work
>>97828731I completely forgot that had new stories in it ngl.
>>97828684>all over him
>>97828743I was surprised to see it did, WarCom did a very poor job of promoting it on that merit. When they announced it I'd assumed it was just a collection of e-shorts and the Trials of Albarak serial that ran in WD.
>>97828715I thought the optimism of AoS was a counterpoint to 40k's excessive pessimism but AoS just became a carbon copy of 40k somewhere along the way despite the fact no one wants to read about the same setting for a third time
>>97828754The publications always have one original story. A lot of the anthologies are sold with just one additional story, the rest of it being recycled novellas already released online or printed in previous anthologies. Every Grombrindal collection has one unique story.
https://gofile.io/d/qfZ2Fl
>>97828737We don't have secondaries where did you come from? And snake girl spam can work. Though it wouldn't hurt to bring along some priests and the flying ladies.
>>97828756The "optimism of aos" was an unintended illusion from having to cram into one corner everything that was already there and having to rebuild the rest from scratch.
>>97828773>where did you come fromVidya, like Dark Elves in Total War Warhammer, looked at their AoS faction and thought sneks look cool
>>97828715The timeskip is the worst part of the tlw rumours honestly, because it forces gw to awkwardly bend backwards to explain why models and characters are still there in exactly the same way as before even after a 1000 years + a setting blowing up, exactly the same shit they had to do when going from whfb to aos.Just have 5th edition take place maybe 50 or a 100 years after 4th man, it's that shrimple
>>97828756It’s a bit of an overcorrection of malign portents I suppose. I do like having hope in a setting just so that it makes it a bit more juicier when it’s crushed, which I think is still present in 4e, but who knows what the reboot will look like. Boole is still a bit of a retard who couldn’t even tell the cankerborn weren’t troggoths, same for the plot beats of morathis schism with krethusa.
>>97828765Thanks anon! Now to look forward to when the last of the elves get scanned.
>>97828765based
>>97828765Thank you anon
>>97828640Man if only darkoath looked half as cool as they do in their art...How do we fix them?
>>97828792No women.No body positivity.No retarded hair cuts.
>>97828776Okay then welcome to AoS. This board is a bit of mess right now cause of rumors but on the bright side Daughters of Khaine just got their book so someone will post the rules here eventually. And they are looking pretty good
>>97828779these are the only characters that don't have an easy access to an immortality gimmick >the manticore heroine>the new anvilgard guy>the new light wizard guy>the father-daughter witch hunters duo>callis & toll with gang>gunnar brand with gangand they can easily magic away the wizard and have the rest die, they're not important or that specific as characters
>>97828801>No retarded hair cutsEh. You can kinda give a pass to this one. If anything I think they aren’t retarded enough, although I don’t think gw has sculpted messy/crazy hair before besides on a model like krethusa.>>97828806The mage can very easily bypass it given he’s a potential deus ex machina.
>>97828765Emphatically based
>>97828801They are poeple barely scraping by in a setting where wilds are 100% more deadly I dont think they give a fuck if Bromhilda is built like a brick shithouse and is a girl if she can swing the axe at the thing that ate Freddrick last week she can join us.
>>97828807>You can kinda give a pass to this one.Absolutely, if you think of them as Sonic the Hedgehog larpers.
>>97828765King shit>>97828806Manticore lady is staying apparently
ARCANE CATACLYSM IS STILL GOING
>>97828817>Manticore lady is staying apparentlyand that sucks
>>97828815I don't care about any of your cope, if you want to fix the models (in other words make them appealing to a wider group of people) then follow my simple prescription.
I can't recall if this was in an earlier book, but this is some Looney Tunes shit
>>97828780He didn't say they were Troggoths just that they looked like them, as he said Rotswords looked like Nurgle Bloodreavers and so on
>>97828806The second they added named humans I knew the setting would have to slow down because of a normal humans lifespan. But now they are gonna try to leap 100 years in the future and of course the human will still use the caselite formation for a whole millennial and no other faction will have really changed in that time whatsoever
>>97828828That's 3rd edition or later
>>97828826Using my brain isn't cope retard.
>>97828780>Boole is still a bit of a retard who couldn’t even tell the cankerborn weren’t troggothscould you tell they weren't plague trolls just from the image?
>>97828802Thanks. How long will this be up btw, looks like it has the main stuff I want. Should I order it ASAP or will it stick aroun?
>>97828839>available while stocks lastdude
>>97828845Oh I've seen it, but I meant do these get sold out fast
>>97828835It's absolute cope. You know the world being more dangerous would mean it's less likely that women are allowed out of the cave, right? You know that if they're supposed to be a people barely scrapping by then it wouldn't make sense for them to have fat asses running around with them, right? If this is an example of you using your brain then please stop doing so.
>>97828839It is a limited time product so maybe a month at most for the online store but you might snag one at your LGS (Local Game Store). But if you want to start that a pretty good box. Are you totally brand new to minitures btw?
>>97828640Two of those pieces are from Fantasy.
>>97828765Thank you so much.
>>97828850Ok thanks>Are you totally brand new to minitures btw?Yes, looked at painting and assembly vids, looks fun
>>97828851No, they aren't, they are from early aosthe dave gallagher is from the first rulebook
>>97828849Everywhere in the mortal realms in dangerous plus with a culture based on taking oaths and the dire consequences of not fulfilling them I see no reason not to get all the help you can doesn't matter if its you own daughter. I see big bitch as less fat than the strongman body type applied to woman just heft but can swing a weapon like its nothing.
>>97828823Why would they squat a perfectly fine model for the setting, if Yarrick can keep coming back I can't imagine any reason some other characters wouldn't push forward. Also in what universe would a 100+ dollar centerpiece unit be squatted like 1 edition later.
>>97828865>Also in what universe would a 100+ dollar centerpiece unit be squatted like 1 edition later.
>>97828873Shit was Aventis actually a 100+ dollar model? The weird horse thing looked neat but the wizard stands and sits like he shit his pants.

>>97828887>Because women are the prime limiting factor on human reproduction. If you care about your tribe surviving then women must be kept safe.Tell that to the Scythians
>>97828857They re-used Fantasy art a fair bit in the early AoS editions. The Chaos Knight art is 100% from the 8th ed Army Book.
>>97828792Darkoath isn't so bad but they try too hard to capture the savage barbarian but the foot soldier all look weak and malnourished like Savagers should be what the bulk of the army should look like
>>97828865I don't think people were expecting the model to be squatted but rather the character, so her model would become a freeguild marshal on manticore or something, like what happened to lots of fantasy characters. Gor-rok became a sunblood, kroq-gar an oldblood, etc. But it looks like that's not the case>also in what universe would a 100+ dollar centerpiece unit be squatted like 1 edition laterIsn't this what happened to the tomb kings sphinxes?
>>97828865The idea was keeping the model but as a generic character instead of a special one, not removing the kit from production.
>>97828892Rumour spread by the Greeks to make them seem more barbaric.
>>97828897the savagers are the champions and actual fighters of the tribes. the normal darkoath are just tribesmen given weapons.
>>97828817well no she got a mention in the timeline but they said she will die and that another Vedra will show up
>>97828512As if GW cares
>>97828865Didn't they squat the taurolan guy or aventis within a couple years?Eitherway the amount of hand waving over them squatting an entire's edition worth of stormcast is disgusting, as well as beastmen & savage orcs. The bar is set so low over model lifespan now that I have to warn people getting into the hobby that don't have it as an active lifestyle that their shit won't be playable in a few years.
It pains me that no matter how hard the reset GW plans for us is, we will never get the real points system anyway. I just want to pay points per model and actually build a list when choosing upgrades and war gear.
>>97828902>>97828899Is she just like, a particularly shitty character? I can never tell when it's someone going "SHE'S BLACK" vs actually disliking the character. (That pope lady is prime example, she's cool as shit) Side note anyone have her and the gryphon that can show me a size comparison?>>97828934I think he lasted about 7 years? Still does suck that 2e stormies died though admittedly I still am believing that they will be the next launch box alongside a death faction. (mostly because the leaks keep swapping on who is in this supposed launch box). I'm not particularly sad about bonesplitters dying, they had like... 5 kits total, and like 2 of those were foot heroes. Like i'm sad conceptually that they got removed from the game and that sucks but entire factions have had more models legends'd at once than Bonesplitters had total.
>>97828887This nigga overthinking a unit that has girl in it cause the designer wanted to put a girl in the unit
>>97828934>within a couple years?I think he lasted 2 editionsnot great, not terrible
>>97828897Savagers are just darkoath marauders but better. I get what they were going for with the whole path to glory theme but they made marauders far too wimpy. They look like high schoolers.
>>97828954Well fire that designer, because nobody wants his shit.
Dunno what cohort the little fella on the right is from but I like the look of him
>>97828963I think it’s the one where everything is permitted
>>97828952No like the pope lady cause her followers where drooling retards that forbade any wheels from being part of the twin tailed crusade. Actual grimderp shit that belongs in 40k.
>>97828934Squatting Aventis was crazy, yeah. Still the main difference between squatting SC special characters and CoS ones is that SC have way more character models to start with. CoS only had one Tahlia-esque model/character, and she was the designated faction leader. I'm not really surprised they contrived a way to keep her in. Out of the others, I think Callis and Toll are probably also safe, they don't work as generics and they are headline characters with a lot of BL books and animations. Zenestra is immortal already. Eramus is a wizard so inherently bullshit, which just leaves the Kraken guy and the Van Densts. Kraken guy is probably gone, but who knows. The Witchhunter Duo...one one hand, they have a series of BL books/shorts, otoh the old guy was basically on the edge of dying from old age already. I wouldn't be surprised to see them replaced, or only the daughter survives and gets a new model.
jfc Cado wear a hat or something
>>97828912No they didn’t, they said the timeline explicitly mentions a woman no one in the last world had ever heard of named Tahlia Vedra suddenly being made (or reinstated, as the official documentation said) first marshal of hammerhal. It’s obviously saying it’s the same woman who just showed up randomly and someone somehow recognized her to give her the job back, even though it’s been a thousand years. I guess they’re still using her castellite tactics and all the same equipment though, so lucky she doesn’t have to do anything different than before.
>>97828966Wait actually? That's funny as fuck. Also not too far off from stupid shit in Fantasy, I remember there being a bit about hammers being banned in the empire for actual construction since it was a symbol of the church.>>97828971Kraken guy not even out and already we're considering him dead, though did he have pointy ears? Over under on him being like, half elf or some shit.
GW have to be the stupidest bunch of inbred bongniggers to think people will buy into their new setting when they just proved they'll squat anything that doesn't make enough money for them. Ah but who am I kidding, reddit faggots are the new whales that just consume the latest product without thinking one second about it existing in the future. Justifying it with even more retarded shit like "IF U RIKE MODEL PAYING 200 DOLLARYDOO IS WORF IT"
>>97828989>Justifying it with even more retarded shit like "IF U RIKE MODEL PAYING 200 DOLLARYDOO IS WORF IT"Is it retarded though? If you like a model enough to pay $200 for it then what's the problem?
>>97828819
>>97829000Anon no one here actually plays the game or buys models, that's nerd shit. Now sit around and complain about the last world fucking up the setting and squatting more models probably maybe.
>>97828952Tahlia is cool, they fucked it by having her be introduced in 3e and then revealing her entire backstory and her getting the position the battletome talks about her having all actually takes place during the Dawnbringers end of edition shit, but she has two pretty good novels that make her fun. She’s a rowdy mercenary basically forced into a leadership role and they tow a good line about her actually having to learn to do politics and care about more than just her own personal interests, without stripping her of being the kind of person who just really wants to beat the shit out of people for fun. Even her whole “I’m pro-reclaimed, parchers for life” thing gets examined, and they go into her being that way because she was an orphan and latches onto that identity because she has no idea what particular culture she actually comes from
>>97828984>Wait actually? That's funny as fuck.Zenestra has all kinds of wild shit going on. She's the head of the Cult of the Wheel, who are crazy luddites who consider wheels to be sacred objects so they will like steal wheels and cogs from war machines in order to keep them holy. She's also some kinda fucking lich, there's a skeleton on the back of her little cart that has the same face scar as the old lady riding in the front, and the lore makes it obvious that the skeleton is the real her, the woman is just an illusion. She's also got some kind of connections to Ancient Death Gods/Magic, during Dawnbringers she basically derails the crusades so that they set up camp in a place that happens to be the secret lost home base of her cult or whatever. (the region is saturated with death magic) I didn't like her much at first but the End of Edition campaign made her somehow the most interesting CoS character by far.
>>97829010Sounds like a typical STRONG WOMYN character. Just replace her with another interchangeable one.
>>97828989>GW have to be the stupidest bunch of inbred bongniggers to think people will buy into their new setting when they just proved they'll squat anything that doesn't make enough money for themKill Team is the most predatory and FOMO-driven game GW ever released. I don't think I can name a supported wargame with a more scummy market model. Yet, normies love it to the point of Kill Team subplebbit being as popular as the AoS one. That should be enough to sum up the general state of the GW's customer base and show how unlikely it is for GW to ever make a decision stupid enough to actually cause them any significant harm.
>>97828952Tahlia's alright, though I think she's indian not black. Also zenestra has really cool lore I agree, it's just that her model is kinda shit looking. And I don't mean that in a chuddy way either, shoulda made her look like calypso or something.>>97828980Such is the power of Norwood
>>97828989Kinda like another poison pill, I imagine anyone who is really upset will either quit playing/buying gw or switch to TOW/40k since those settings have a more stable future. Doesn't help the rules team is fuck awful compared to 2e/3e, that alone is sealing the deal for my 5e hopes. I don't believe there's a lot of internal love for AoS so any hopes of a specialist game or whatever is a no-go.Remember their end goal is to expand to a new audience without compromising on price. That means they'll simplify the game more, inject whatever the latest fad is or reach out to unreachable audiences to do this, even at the cost of player retention. They decided it's worth the gamble to do this, they're not trying to appease current players but ensure the marketing success of 5e.
>>97828952>Is she just like, a particularly shitty character? she's hardly a character, and is doomed to be unlikeable because she's not allowed to be flawed or wrong, ever; she's a stereotypical mary sue with the world revolving around herhave the quick rundown>born from reclaimed parents, so she felt prejudiced against, and she sees the azyrite old white men at the leadership of the city as lazy, corrupt and incompetent>steps up through the military ranks because she's that good and becomes a realms-renown general for *checks notes* inventing shield formations >said shield formations get adopted by all armies of all cities for their effectiveness, but when it turns out they were only good in the specific instance she first used them, she's not to blame because it was the out of touch old white men who mandated the military reformation and she actually protested against the idea>despite being one of the highest ranking generals she's unwilling to partake in politics and paperwork and prefers the company of the common soldiers who all love her>she's the only one who got to tame one of the extremely aggressive manticores because only she is that good>hammerhal aqsha abandoned the blue and gold iconography of the azyrite founders and defenders of the realmgate wars for the orange-red colours of native aqshyans because she wanted so>she personally and hastily executes the previous leadership of the city for being lazy, corrupt and incompetent without due process, but it's all ok because god's angel zapped into the room immediately afterwards to give the thumbs up>she also steals the weapons and symbols of office of the leaders she killed
>>97828952Practical analogues.
>>97829029>she's unwilling to partake in politics and paperwork and prefers the company of the common soldiers who all love herSounds like a barrack bunny to me or one of those girls that always had male friends only.
>>97829046No, she's actually lesbian and everyone respects her.She even has a side gal with an identical backstory and character to hers.
>>97829053>she's actually lesbianA girl with male friends only then, like a clockwork.
>>97829045Well shit thank you, that's actually pretty useful. I've been going back and fourth on cities as my next army and I have the old karl franz sitting on sprue from an old trade I did. Though I don't think we have anyone playing cities local so the main thing holding me back is I have no fucking clue how the army plays.
>>97829026>They decided it's worth the gamble to do thisBy all accounts, it seems it is worth it.
>>97828984Yeah it was the side of the crusade she was in. After Tahlia had to head back to Hammerhal her cult started preaching and taking over eventually tearing all the wheels off and going full zealot. Although strangely she herself seemed very reasonable and detached from it all.I am glad her city fell because I didnt want the 40k esque blind devotion faction to prevail over the more pragmatic hopeful and nice city.

>>97829026I think as long as the factions and models stay we won't see much of an exodus. All of the people I know are attached to their faction(s), not so much the details of the setting itself. As it stands only stormcast and CoS are undergoing some core changes, and honestly it both cases it seems to be mostly a further development of earlier changes.
>>97829019Now you’ve learned about archetypes for the first time, I’m about to blow your mind with the heroes journey >>97829013It’s sort of implied she’s either the weakened remnants of the Cinder God, an underworld god nagash defeated who was worshipped by whatever culture used to live where Embargard now is, or the last of its original faithful who hold whatever’s left of its power. Either way she’s basically taken the cinder god’s old religious philosophy about life being a turning wheel and just kind of slotted Sigmar in there as like a patron who makes it possible to keep the wheel turning, I guess because he stopped the age of chaos and let civilization return to the realms. She did apparently fight in the realmgate wars, especially during the founding wars of hammerhal, so I guess she had personal stakes in it too.I think establishing that she genuinely does worship Sigmar and hold him in high regard goes a long way to making her interesting, because she is a figure who’s got her own mysterious agenda and views lives as expendable if it leads to more lives being improved in the future and is basically ambivalent (doesn’t actively encourage it, but also doesn’t tell them to stop or dissuade them) about how her cult is full of freaks that take it all too literally. It’s just because you know she’s being genuine about everything that the mysteries around her are actually cooler to think about, like whatever she planned for embergard before the vermindoom hit (or maybe she just planned for it to be there, since it’s a staging ground for order to fight off the Skaven?)

>>97829824Its rule is that if you can draw a straight line from the shooting unit to its target and at any point that line goes over the palisade the entire unit cant fire. Even if 39 other models have a clear los if the other 1 doesn't the whole unit cant shoot it.
>>97829861Oh shit, so I could effectively just slap that in the middle and if I weirdly position my guys or even a giant monster they can't shoot it.So it's more of a detriment to like, big blocks as opposed to single model shooters. >>97829881Isn't the base to base shit explicitly part of the game now? So modeling for advantage or disadvantage is no longer a thing?

>>97830039>>97830051nippon doesn't exist in TOW though so that would have to be a totally new army.

>>97830129cities of sigmar is just empire with cogforts and black women though.
>>97830051But ...why? Seems to go against the direction gw is mandating for their systems, and what benefit would the aos team get from it?
>>97830149The same reason why 40k enables it to allow Hh models in 40k.
>>97830138Cities of Sigmar is different enough and doing it's own shit, if we get a faction that's just humans with... Let's think here: Peasant spear levy, samurai with swords, firework rockets, big samurai bows, and like a big dragon and shinto priest or some shit I'd hate it.At least add like 1 layer of seperation, Lumineth almost fall into that exactly fucking slot but at least are weird bull/rock based elves. If we were gonna do a "Japan" faction I'd rather see it be an offshoot of bonereapers or something else. Besides the best faction they could do next would be fleshcrafted undead monstrosities and non-nagash "necromancers" like the underworlds guy.
>>97830149What benefit would the AoS team get from investing in an entire army range of "Kislev but slightly different with a shittier name" models?Just dropping a bit of lore and rules PDF on the other hand would cost them almost nothing as an investment and potentially lure TOW players into playing AoS, plenty of benefit to that. It's also literally what TOW does right now with AoS armies they don't have access to, so I don't see why people assume that sort of action is only permitted in one direction. The whole GW mandate thing is headcanon, people are trying to use it to make sense of GW's recent decisions, but that doesn't make it real, or unchangeable.

Further as a result of his experiments and of Nagash's spite, the guy is now grafted to one of his own giant creation made of dead flesh. It would make a nice centerpiece model for the army and serve as a meta-joke about the fact that irl in normie's discourse Dr Frankenstein (the obvious inspiration) is constantly confused with his creature
>>97830455Ba dum tss!
How many here are TGA posters? And TLW s aq good thing, nobody gave a shit about the setting. The "aos has the best models" line is used so much specifically because the background lore is so shit it turns everyone away. Maybe TLW will be better, certainly more than aos 1.0
>>97830458The rules are basically the same with small additions (extra things all heroes can do). List building has changed a lot in this edition. It used to be that you had more generic and larger lists with more options. Now you have around 120 different armies, that are based on specific moments/things in the books and movies. These armies have different bonuses and army rules depending on what they are. For example, if you play The Road to Rivendell, you get access to all the hobbits that were in the story of The Fellowship up to Rivendell, Strider and the wood elves they encountered in the books but not really in the movies. The road to Rivendell is a very specific army. You can also just play generic Kingdom of Rohan, with a wider roster but weaker rules, or you can play something like “ Ride Out “ to represent the all mounted force that charged out of helms deep into the Uruks with stronger special rules, or “ Riders of Eomer “ to represent the relief force at helms deep with Gandalf and Eomer. There’s around 120 total different armies in the current edition leading to a huge amount of variety.

>97830535Not even worth the pity (You) are looking for, faggot.
>>97830506I doubt the guy wanting to get into the game because he liked the dark elves in twwh and thinks the snakes are cool gives a shit about the exact state of the setting lolHis mistake is jumping headfirst into painting and modelling with a big ass battleforce including a centrepiece like morathi, with a hard to paint army like DoK no less. I'd start with the spearhead if I werw him.
>>97830511Thanks for the source. If it’s just Rob I’m going to assume Pluckee is right. I’m familiar with Robs let’s say “ mediocre “ record.
>>97830572The spearhead isn’t much better. It’d just start with a kit of the snakes. Speaking of is that snake spam aor any good?
>>97830583Does this pluckee guy have any credibility? Never heard of him.
