I'm so sick of standardI like the people I play with but the format is always so dry, its not fun to play the same deck for months straight but thats usually the only way that makes financial sense, but the good decks go away so quickly too and are replaced by a totally different $600 deck. To keep up with set releases and the metagame requires constant attention, if I slack for 2 weeks and am not constantly playing arena I slip behind everybody else at fnm. And then i can just go and lose every die roll and get mana screwed and go 0-4 anyway.How do I into EDH? I rebuilt a deck I've had for a while. If i go to an LGS do people just play with their usual pods or do they randomize it?

Put stuff in graveyard and pull it out make tokens! Make tokens then put counters on them!) none of which are new, done in a fun or interesting way, or are powerful enough (looking at current spoilers) to warrant more than a casual glance. If you're running specific commanders like Dina or Eriette or are an Izzet spellslinger troon there's a couple of things to catch interests but overall a very boring set mechanically (so far).And of course, like every other contemporary Magic set - UW or UB - the art is almost universally generic and mobile game tier, so there's nothing to talk about on that front either. Coomers rarely get to eat good when it comes to Magic but this set feels especially sexless and prudish considering it's supposed to be about a magical college allegedly full of young people, meanwhile everyone looks like a middle aged millennial showing about as much skin as a Mormon does.It's gonna release to mild praise, it'll sell decently enough, and in a week or two everyone will be moved onto Marvel because there's no such thing as a Magic fandom, there's just a horde of paypiggies waiting to consoom product.
