I don't host.I bring soda or agreeable snacks.Everyone brings snacks or drinks for sharing. In the past I used to play at family gatherings to pass time for those who weren't into sportsball while we waited for dinner or after dinner. I don't like people in my house, so I never invite people over to play. As such it isn't a expectation that I am obligated to feed anyone. Bringing snacks is just because they are friends and that is what friends do.
