Well, what does /tg/ think? Just watched pic rel for the first time and thought “this guy would be just fine in the goofy overpowered madness of 40k”.

Huh? I have been looking for an excuse to mention M.D. Geist here

https://youtu.be/jef55fOdTEQ?si=37gvgsX6RQr8EzDe

The original translation for M.D. Geist was Thunder Warrior and was around 1986 one year before 40k came out. So when was Thunder Warrior as a concept introduced to Warhammer? Geist unironically fits the description of super soldier who were too violent

Geist, while awfully produced and written, is a ton of fun.

Samus Aran, not Samus the Khorne demon, would probably do alright being genetically modified and the whole metroid thing.

If by that you mean protagonists doing things that would make the average chaos marine ask said protagonists "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Then yes, I agree.

>overpowered madness of 40k
40k is mostly regular humans with weapons not much better than a Colt 1911 (stub gun) or M2 Browning (heavy stubber). Those are rubbish, but not so rubbish as to be useless.

Alright, theoretically then, how many imperial guardsmen could say, a modern Australian rifle platoon take on?

For reference, an average Aussie rifle platoon has access to:
16 men with rifles
6 men with light machine guns
and 6 men when rifles and mounted grenade launchers

I would say, given proper cover and concealment, they could take on at least a squad or two, considering your average guardsman has armor that is probably impervious to standard small arms fire, but their heads and stomachs are exposed, but they also have a massive advantage in firepower with their lasguns

Post your models first.

>>97845655
All of them, because Imperial Guard's role is to die in million gazillions to make the threat look dangerous before Space Marines kill it.

Neither of these is remotely true. Again, a lasgun is functionally equivalent to a 1911, and their body armour protects them from 1 in 6 such shots. Granted there's a lot of abstraction going on there, but guard kit is not drastically more effective than what we have today.
