I'm going to be perfectly honest I currently only use firestorm because it's completely passive, enhancements are useless and the only stratagem I need to care about is overwatch. I read most detachments and I got not the faintest clue how to actually build around them. I asked for a drop pod assault detachment for years but when it finally arrived it looks more like it wants you to deepstrike land raiders than actually use drop pods. Everyone and their mother runs Gladius but I just see a lot of random bullshit with no rhyme or reason so who the fuck knows man.
>>
just woke up from a dream about 11th edition that orks were able to be allied to every faction to act as freebooter mercenaries, and that there was no equivalent rules for any other army.

My genuine hope/cope is that the Drukhari codex was written with the new pointed detachment system in mind and that all their shitty little subfaction Detachments are going to be 2-point or 1-point options so they can be combined with other ones to try making something like their 9th edition system where they had three subfactions again.

You can drop a link to a paste bin here or start your own thread about it. If it is yourdude's stuff, some people might be more interested if you have models attached to it. Otherwise it might be a little hit or miss whether you get any attention at all here.

Speaking of fanfic I remember a couple years ago someone was writing a story about a dude with irl 40k knowledge getting reincarnated as a minor random noble during the great crusade and warning the Emperor about the heresy. Does anyone have a link to that? Can't find it in 1d6chan and it might not even be archived since it was during those years where 1d4chan was offline more often than not.

How cancerous would it be to always have green tide in my detachment pool? Just regardless of what rules I have for the rest of my army there's always 120 5++ boyz messing up your objective play
>>
>>97846243
>Does that work for "serious" stuff?
Yes. I've written something pretty "normal" and not smutty or crossoverslop for a fairly niche title and a surprising amount of people read it.
>>
>>97846285
it would be dependent on the detachment cost to know how cancerous it is.

My guess is that it'll be 1 point because every rule in the detachment only applies to Boyz. Judging from what they said about the detachment points system the hyper focused detachments are 1.

When you pick your army, do you do it for theme or for the strength of the given detachment?

I've sometime tried other detachment with the wraith host but It always feels off. Even if Spirit Conclave is utter rubbish.
>>
>>97846454
theme and narrative above all. Theres really only 1 army thats truly unplayably bad and EVEN then you can make it okay (imperial agents) and watch as the needle shifts in 11th and they become really good because you can pay 1 point to bring an agents detachment with your 2 point whatever else.

The ratio of surface that is dark to surface that is bright defines what kind of material it reads as. Too high or too low and it looks unnatural. Assuming each God made a streamer, which one would be the most popular?
>Khorne
Streams fighting games, easily tilted, will accept challenges from anyone in chat, is actually pretty good at said fighting games so she constantly kicks viewers' asses. Doesn't acknowledge subs or donations unless they managed to beat her Best Of 3.
>Tzeentch
Streams RTS and grand strategy games. Never shuts up about her build orders and tactics. Will answer questions about strategies from chat, but won't always tell the truth. The detail and accuracy of her info depends on how long someone has been subscribed or how much they donated.
>Nurgle
Streams life-sim and home decor games. Talks about cooking a lot, but often brings up recipes that would be borderline inedible for normal people. Tends to ramble on a bit slowly, but personally thanks every subscriber and donation. Even her model is fat.
>Slaanesh
Streams VNs. Hyper personality, high pitched voice, will make at least half a dozen sex jokes every stream. Has donation notifications of herself making lewd moans. Always shows up to stream with a new outfit.

Remember when they did that Aeronautica game and it flopped so badly that its models only ever see existence in Not! Epic and Golden Demon awards?

Side games come from a different budget pool than the main studio projects. GW was always going to allocate some time to a project to try to break into a new tabletop niche market even if it wasn't aeronautica. I believe the failure of that game partially prompted them to start making more of their side games like Kill-Team all have direct tie-ins to their main games from the get go though where now they are essentially a little support budget to help patch up existing ranges outside of their normal codex phase rotation.

I’m sorry anon I just don’t agree here, even the experts on this know the limitations on NMM. The video you’ve posted is an example of how ridiculous it looks when you paint it all around a model and not as a photo piece. The lighting is coming from absolutely everywhere to the point the custodian looks like it has spotlights surrounding it. The gold reflecting on the armour makes no sense to the eye as soon as you rotate away from the front angle. The issue with NMM is the reflections only look good from the angle you’ve painted them from.

Look at the other parts of the armour where there are no reflections, it looks flat as fuck.

It'd be pretty funny.
Basically have a navigator who had gone rogue and didn't want to work with the Imperium, so Imperium then branded them an "alien" and killed them so no one asks questions.

Honestly surprised it doesn't happen more often. Only other one I can think of is the squats, and that is just the Imperial officials arguing.
And even then their argument stems from that they are abhumans, and since abhumans must be stupider and inferior to baseline humanity, there is no possible way for abhumans to create a space empire.

GW would've just made them all wear mk7 with no variation or other armor bits. And seeing what they did with HH, then made you pay extra to get other mks all using the same recycled 5 poses.
Also the legs ands chests aren't separate anyway so you can't mix and match the armors through that at all either.

There is no version of this where it was ever going to be good. Ever.

>>97846267
Don't put counter reflections down at random, think about your original light source/direction, and what metallic parts in the vicinity would reflect light where. For instance if you're doing NMM on a Bolter, the bayonet lug would reflect light back onto the underside of the barrel, so you can add another band of reflection to the bottom of the barrel too.
You also need to think about what the environmental lighting is for your mini, even if it's not on your base, just settle on what lights you're going for. Are they surrounded by fires on a battlefield, space ship lighting, sunlight, etc.
Also cheat as much as you can, look up hundreds of photos of closeups of brass instruments in marching bands, and just use them as references. You could also practice painting NMM on sprues if you want.

Your Slavic Space Bear Marines have arrived.

"When they first rolled off Belisarius Cawl’s production lines, the Primaris Space Marines were all equipped with uniform suits of Mk X power armour. Over time, the attrition of unrelenting war has led to Tacticus armour needing to be supplemented with older parts."

>just a primaris body with a MK7 helm slapped on

>space wolf grey hunters and blood claws have mix of Primaris/Previous marks (some legs look like MK6 beaky legs)

Do you anons think GW are gonna give the same treatment to grav vehicles by giving them treads to milk the marine players harder?

Or will they just do what ForgeWorld did with the Macharius tanks and release 'discount variants' of existing vehicles and say it is an in-universe cut cost version of a better vehicle?

it literally has a tabard
>>
>>97846826
Marine players are going to buy this thing in record numbers
>>

In what way have the 4th edition core rules been better than 3rd? I see people recommending playing the 4th edition with 3rd edition codexes all the time but why not sticking with "pure" 3rd edition instead?
>>
>>97846298
Yeah green tide is at least a 2
>>
>>97846933
BA have always been there, where do you think Tycho's story took place?
>>
All you chuds are gonna cave when the apparent mk. 7 scourging kit is released huh
>>
>>97847101
It’s a strange thing to me because if you’re a marine player you should have more than enough of these extra bits already. GW literally drowns you in extra parts for your models. The better question I have is why do space marine players hate kitbashing
>>
>>97847061
the old bits are pulling so much weight on these
>>
Ork bros, have you run a deff dread with 3 skorchas and a klaw? Thinking of making one for my next project (a conversion), interested to see how well it does in game. Id be bringing it out from strategic reserves

Real life
>>
>>97847106
Are you a retard?
>>
>>97847123
What even makes someone a "chud" around here nowadays in the context of Warhammer 40k?
>>
>>97847106
I honestly think we need more discount vehicles in 40k. The galaxy should be in a post apocalyptic dark age. Cawl coming in with his new bullshit that's bigger batman isn't doing the setting any favors. As always, FW had style and integrity when they released their stuff.

Why are you lying? Old kit had both, in fact GW wasted whole third sprue on jump packs because by default they were without:
>>
>>97847108
>>97847114
Not him but
>Tabard is painted black just like the undersuit, insteas of tan like the Sternguard
>Both pictures barely show it anyways
That's some stupid shit on GW's part.
>>
I’m pretty sure this is a test if this doesn’t appeal to grogs they’ll drop the scourging update to here with the marine kit people want
>>
>>97847108
It's got a loincloth
>>
>>97846419
>>
>>97847139
>Are you a retard?
Maybe.
Is the retard who knows he is a retard smarter than the retard who thinks he is intelligent?

But am I retarded for thinking GW would do something like that even if it is beneficial to the marine side of the 40k following if what I said is a good idea?

The saddest truth Undead players in WHFB and AoS must endure: Pic is a better written skeleton than anything their factions will have.
>>
>>97847142
Like I said you genuinely mostly bought the jump packs because why wouldn’t you? I genuinely never saw assault squads on foot ever
>>
>>97847142
I meant the pervious kit. That one came out in 2014/15 and barely got any traction before primaris came out. Which pisses me off because the primaris version doesn't have flamers, meltas or even a eviscerator.
>>
>>97847151
Freeboota crew is too generalised to be a 1 imo. It would be too strong paired with taktikal
>>
Out of nowhere, I hope Skelator has the same voice.
>>
>>97847142
>>97847158
It’s interesting that for all the bragging old marinefags do they genuinely were using primaris tactics

>Devestators could use a mix of heavy weapons to deal with any situation
>all las cannons
>Are you sure? What about
>Okay all plasma cannons
>Erm what about adding at least one heavy bol-
>You’re right! All grav cannons
>>
>>97847106
They will 100% update the threaded vehicles, there's a demand for it. Marines reached the point where there's literally nothing fresh to add, so they will just finish reskinning the Firstborn units and then they will purge the original Primaris line
>>
>>97847018
These niggas literally bladeguard niggas with combi-weapons and regular ass helmets they absolutely fine 100% ya'll niggas be complaining bout anythang
>>
What do Space Marines do when out of ammo? Just knives and punching?
>>
>>97847154
He's a better-written Skeleton than 95% of all BL content
>>
>>97847171
I think only tactical squads had actual different builds. Everyone else? Devestators/assault were just what’s the better loadout
>>
>>97847171
>primarisfag, once again, confuses having one unit with all the weapon options with mixing weapons in a single squad
