Make the Imperium Nihilus basically the "Chaos Wastes" in space with now a considerably large officially sanctioned "do whatever you want space" like Star Wars has an "unknown regions" area.
Some silly mcguffin would be why "lore important" planets and systems are still around repelling the warp stuff. Maybe DAOT stuff, or Cawl pulled something out of his ass again.
Something like that.
The zone would be the "lost primarchs" but as an entire region now.

I've thought about this before myself too and the "Dark City" really ought to just be a sprawl that slowly crawls out into other planets if the Drukhari are allowed to open Webway portals to it and create Realspace ports where the dark masters can't reside themselves because of the soul drain but their human and Xenos agents maintain and serve them in exchange for the weapons and backing of greater Commoragh.

Red Corsairs do no piracy. Same with Eldar Corsairs. They dont loot, they dont parley. They dont smuggle or hold ransom.
The real pirates in 40k are the Deldars who kidnap, raid and run away, and the orks who loot everything and sell themselves as mercs to others.
The Red Corsairs and Eldar Corsairs do nothing different than what other factions do.

I have very little interest in 40k books.
Yet I do want to know what "key takeaways" are of each BL book.
My biggest interest is "Genefather" does it fix Cawl's character?
Does it verify that he is technically a 'heretek' but not with chaos and leads a cult of tech priests that technically want to 'innovate' but they don't call it that?
And does it drop 'crumbs of potential' that will be forgotten like clone Fulgrim being potential that is now utterly forgotten save for secondaries?

What other examples of "forgotten potentials" are there in other BL books?
Just neat concepts that are now forgotten by GW execs for better or worse.
That kind of stuff.

It's Cael being the silliest yet smartest guy in the entire Mechanicus as he proposes something completely insane and when a Tech-Priesr points this out Cawl calls him a bog dumb stupidhead which immediately makes everyone else fall in line, all while Bile sneaks aboard Cawl's ship, fucks his Necron sex slave before taking off her leash, and stealing Primaris tech. Then Cawl comes back, has to re-collar the Necron, and calls Bile to tell him he's been a very rude and naughty boy and he should give back what he stole. Bile responds with 'Fuck you I'm an athiest' and runs away.
The end.

Kill one of the Chaos gods, it doesn't really matter which. Some hero does it or whatever, the specifics don't matter. Chaos is in disarray, and as soon as it's out of the picture, all of the 'good guy' factions break down and start killing each other more.

Keep the vague "time advancement/progress/hope" ideas that are inherent to Cawl and primaris through 11th and 12th.
When "primaris" aesthetics will be reduced to their boots, make the timeline revert to before the awakening of Ynniead.

Those tacticool jet flaps and big boy boosty boots look like dogshit. Hate this shit even on the chapters where tacticool doesn't look horribly out of place.

Reminder that you can destroy infinite Imperial worlds and the writers will keep creating new ones. Destroy as many as you want, the Imperium will always have more. So long as it's not an actual plot important place like Terra or Ultramar, the Imperium can suffer any number of losses because the worlds you destroyed literally didn't exist before the story that destroyed them.

The Imperium is unstoppable. The Emperor has already won.

I don't see many custom homebrew using red and black to be honest in the 40k fanbase. But then again I don't go looking too much.

I think it is more of a corporate mandate than someone fanboying over Cawl.
If I was forced to "fix" Cawl it would not be about his character but the consequences of his character with a huge Mechanicus schism because one side thinks he is a legitimate head of Mars and the other side thinks he is a heretek who got too far.
But I don't think that would happen.
Maybe that perspective was covered and waved away in one of the books.

Check Anvil Industry.
Then check their STLs.
Then get a printer.
Then dab on everyone including me who didn't get a 3D printer when starting out in this hobby.
The best part is that your custom guard regiment will be more unique beyond headswaps and colour choices.

In my defence I was unsure if 3D printing was good at the time of when I could first afford 40k minis which was around the end of 7th start of 8th edition at the earliest I think.

What a shame that you don't have an LGS to play Warhammer 40k and you have to shop online.
Maybe try some ArmyPainter stuff to help you get started in this hobby if you don't want to be harmed.

>Jokes aside
I recommend you avoid Citadel paints as your first paints. Try looking at AK Interactive, and ArmyPainter. I generally use AK acrylic paints and ArmyPainter washes with their speedpaint medium mixed 1:1 and it produces a pretty cool effect of shading, but not too much and not staining all the colours of a base coated model too much.
>example of the mix:

AK interactive released their own washes and I'm unsure if their version of contrast paints' medium will produce a similar effect.
Also acrylic makeup racks from Amazon worked as nice holders for my acrylic paints in 18ml dropper bottles.
There's a lot of stuff from the makeup side that can be useful in the hobby. I don't know of much but I'd love to know more.
Vallejo had a bubble problem with their new formulas and while they may have fixed it I'm still booty blasted over it and I fear.

Then drama about the inquisition finding out about their true heritage.

If were talking about the Catachan paintjob then that isn't a high bar.
I haven't painted for a long time and with shaky hands from an American soda I could still paint better than that with just sloppy basecoats and a wash dumped over it and calling it done.

No, because it will just be ignored in the face of the Eldar's history of failures and defeats.
Someone might make a silly art piece of Eldar celebrating just to try and point out they won, and then it'll be ummediately forgotten by whatever GW announces the following week.

Codex space marine 4th ed only has a single entry for veterans.
The codex about the 5th edition marine release mentions very clearly that they separated them into two units: sternguard & vanguards

No, because sternguards also imply the special ammunition rule.
Additionally, to my knowledge sternguards couldn't trade their bolters for close combat weapons & bolt pistols (would need to check) and vets could take terminator honours which let them pick wargear from the armoury, meaning you could both mix range & melee in a squad, or simply run assault vets without jumppacks, the same way that assault marines could be run without jumppacks (and so you can run them in a transport)

As I was making my big 40k wargear compendium I compared weapon families, and I expected something for Helfrost weapons like slowing down enemies or a form of anti-flamer.

First of all the "retcon" didn't happen in 8th, it happened with the 6th editio Black Legion supplement, which was the first book to actually describe most Black Crusades. Some already existed in the fluff (like the 12th), but most of them simply had like one phrase of description at best. They were very vague, but most descriptions stil agreed on the following points
>They were devastating blows and Abaddon gained power from them
>They were eventually pushed back by the Imperium

Of course Chaos fan focused on the devastating blow part, while Imperium fans focused on the fact that they were eventually defeated.

there is a hesitation probably caused by 40ks insistence on fairly strict WYSIWYG culture. nobody wants to spend $800+ on a big conversion army just to take it to an event to show it off and get told ummm ahkshcually by some nerd about their base sizes or proxies and have some judge come over and tell them well technically the autist is right, pack it up.

and i know thats a hypothetical that would almost assuredly not happen in a real world full of regular functioning adults, but given the state of the 40k tournament crowd and the levels of autism it would reach, i think a lot of people that would have done a cool custom army make the calculus that its just not worth the risk given how expensive and especially time consuming a project like that is.

What about an electric gun that lowers enemy temperature, because metal conductors transmit current better at cold temperatures. Heat causes atoms/molecules to vibrate with thermal energy. When the charge carriers (electrons) move through a conductor, they will interact with the vibrating atoms and be impeded, essentially reducing current flow. This hobby is retard expensive and I recently feel like my liabilities vs. investment/asset ratio is unfavorable plus I've missed out on yet another lucrative stock trade because I was too hungover to be awake for the market open a week ago.

Also hard to source either parts or reprints since people are faggy about it or scammy.

I thought about making a meme Skaven/Hrud kill team like on this AI image but parts for Hrud stand ins like watchers in the dark are surprisingly expensive for a meme flavor unit that does nothing, and skaven themselves for a single box likewise are more expensive than they should be (though less than 40k).

Ideas like exodites sit at the back of my head for years, but a little cheeky meme unit of elves on dinosaurs doesn't do much for me.

>Chaos Eldar Craftworld
>Pleasure Cult leader and her inner circle boarded a Craftworld as the Fall of the Eldar came to a head
>During the Birth of Slaanesh, they began preaching of 'salvation' through worship of their new god
>Successfully took over the ship and steered it back to the Eye Of Terror
>Infidels were rounded up and sacrificed to Slaanesh as they crossed over into the Warp, with the Cult offering to serve for eternity
>Cult leader attained Apotheosis and was granted dominion over the Daemon Craftworld
>Society forms as crazed mix of ancient, esoteric, and technologically advanced attempts to chase sensations collide. Temples and Gladiator Pits and Nightclubs all combine in cities of silver and ivory amidst an eternal dusk within the vessel as the people relive and expand upon the final days of the Eldar Empire at its hedonistic heights
>The vessel becomes a borderline prison for the Prince, who despite being abhorrently powerful is barred from leaving the Warp
>Thousands of years pass before a CSM warband encounters the Daemon Craftworld. Its Lord meets and brokers a deal with the Daemon Prince; in exchange for her and her servants' aid, he would enact special rituals upon Imperial worlds to draw them into the Warp, and directly into the clutches of the Chaos Eldar.

That's because he doesn't actually understand them. Voidscarred showed this with the main character being a whiny cunt over Farseers telling him not to attack a Chaos Cult, when that would never be his call to begin with, it would be an Autarch's, and an Autarch wouldn't potentially waste Eldar lives just to squash some random cult that wasn't a threat to the Craftworld.
He wrote the Baron as an impulsive, rash, and short-sighted glory hound who didn't care about the people beneath him beyond how much power he felt ordering them around, and then tried to make that character sound better than regular Eldar to the point of the proper CWE lead literally being gay for him.

>>97849587
very snowflakey because it hinges on two changes, that are not obviously following from one another, and without a real explanation or drawback that feels natural to the setting

say for example instead of a warp aura it was a peculiar piece of alien technology they snatched and incorporated, now you have a reason why others don't have it, and you can look for what alien race this thing could have been from or invent it yourself, also in a way that could explain getting around the fearlessness of others

or say, as another example, if the warp aura wasn't a random power they just happened to develop, but it was a very purposeful deal they made with a demonic patron because they were locked into a specific situation that warranted such faustian pact in exchange of something drastic, a significant loss, or a continuous malus of some kind

these two could even be linked, hear me out
>night lords raid imperial world
>the world turns out to be a necron tomb world
>night lords are caught off guard by the robot legions, unprepared to deal with them and unable to retreat
>they make a deal with a demon (fear themed step-daddy belakor?), they'll pledge allegiance to him, give him access for possession or direct control to a number of legionaries at all times, and in exchange the demon helps them strike into the bowels of the tomb world
>there they crack open the vault of the large shard of the nightbringer the tomb world was keeping sealed, they use fell rituals to flay the necrodermis off it and shard it further
>they fashion capes, relics and armour pieces of the still writhing necrodermis, barely contained by the chaos runes
>with these they weaponize the nightbringer's terror over everything in reality, including necrons, including most demons who are repelled by the anti-warp properties of the realspace-god fragments, and including the tyranids, harmed because partially severed from their hive mind, letting them fall into panicking bestial instincts
>>
>>97849694

>>
>>97849778
I'm not using them as Eldar, I'm using them as allies and proxies for my CSM.
>>
>>97849780
it stays snowflakey, but it all emerges out of one asspull: the heist and use of a ctan shard
but you've got a good reason, a good price and a good mean (a powerful demon), and the nightbringer's nature already justifies the extents of the fear you want your dudes to bring
furthermore, the above give you a foundation for connecting your models to your fluff: you can paint some weapons in your dudes arsenal as being made of a weirder metal to represent the ctan shard integrated into the weapon, you can use the flayed skin on the models and paint it silver, even just on one side, to make it look like the living metal necrodermis of the ctan, and you can also show the pact with the demon from the various demonic visages on the average chaos model's armor, and paint the mutant bits in a way that can instantly remind of the demon (keeping with the idea of belakor, the demonic faces can glow with its colours and the mutations can have the color of his skin)

Know how people call certain things "safe horny" as a way to describe pieces of media that are sexual without being really transgressive or all that tantalizing?
Space Wolves are safe masculine
>>
>>97849785
Then why have it be a Craftworld specifically? There are chaos Eldar on the Croneworlds, which is in the Eye of Terror, which is where CSM warbands hangout. Provides an easy and more isolated domain/lair for the Daemon Prince. In essence it has just become another Daemon World floating through the Warp, while retaining a more Eldar-centric theme than the typical ruins and possessed of Croneworlds. Rather than just being a shadow of the Eldar Empire's glory, it's a 'new direction' taken by a Pleasure Cult on a grand scale.
It also provides the catalyst for the DP's apotheosis, as those trying to escape were massacred and sacrificed.

too closed off. most anons don’t own eldar, so they’ll be forced to buy them just for the collage. its part of the reason why for april there’s a secondary option for “crucible character” if you don’t have any space wolf bits for “space wolf annihilation”.
you could probably get away with a “dark skin” voting option though especially because it would be fun to paint black skin onto armies that normally don’t have dark skinned people in them.

I feel like your first post did you an injustice because you wrote “while not being all that tantalizing”. The whole safe horny thing is about the opposite, it’s about being as tantalizing as possible whilst riding that line and just barely not crossing it so you (corporate) can market from the sex appeal but maintain just enough plausible deniability / naivety / innocence. The whole term safe horny is a criticism of that behavior.

nta but I think the point of the term is to be overtly sexual but in ways that doesn't offend the Modern Audience (TM) which just ends up not really appealing to anyone but degenerates. Feet is the best example. Or the scene from wolfenstien (I think) where it's a fucking 40 year old muttoid woman with a dyke haircut covered in blood with her tits out.
As opposed to something that is just horny while also having mass male appeal and not caring about corporate America's schizophrenic puritan standards (gacha games, vtubers, and most anime-adjacent stuff is usually the best example)

So, with that in mind, Space Wolves are masculine in the lamest way possible while not showing toxic traits that are offensive to the flimsy $0¥facing male or twitter addict females that think the "wrong" kinds of aggression and hatred are heckin' problematic. They're also obvious Viking stand-ins so they're basically a magnet for >>97850133

Bad image, but what do you think of gold chains on my wardog? I'm kind of liking it
>>
>>97850938
It... looks like gold?
>>
>>97850910
This is a lie
>>
It insists upon itself
>>
>>97850938

How can I politely tell you a way that you should do this that will look better, but requires you to paint over it all and start again, WITHOUT killing your enthusiasm, which I do love to see?
>>
Remember that only by failing and doing poorly do you get better
>>
>>97850938
I can also tell you an in between method, where you don't have to restart, though it won't look quite as good.

If true I would be the most skilled human alive in every domain at this point.

Holy autism, Bambam. Instead of all those words that amount to nothing you could've just given your advice and anon could make up his own mind whether to follow it or not
>>
>>97850934

>>
>>97850981
He didn't ask for advice. It's rude to just assume everybody wants you to tell them what to do.
>>
>>97850993
He asked what people thought, I'm sure he's a big boy and can take it. In all the three posts you've made about this you could've just given the damn advice

I'm a big guy and can take it, I want to improve
What I'm having trouble with most is correct thinning
>>
>>97850938
I was hoping to see a wolf helm on those chains desu

depends on the color of the overall wardog, but if its meant to be purple or pink, then I’d say its pimpin’.

>in order to avoid falling to khorne the blood drinkers made a pact with tzeentch
200 IQ move right there
>>
>>97851162
He got the Soul Drinkers too.
Its Tzeentch's 4D chess cry for help about his alcoholism.
>>
>>97851140
Because your mind is less developed than a Rhesus monkey brain.
>>
>>97851162
I know they all will eventually fuck you over in some way, but I think tzeentch is the better pick for worship overall compared to khorne.
