I have collected slowly a Night Lords army over 15 years because they are my favourite legion. Started to actually write my own characters and lore to the small warband 5 years ago too. But I always liked some other legions units too but no way I could make another full chaos army. How can the balance of power fists vs thunder hammers be fixed? In 30k it's very easy because the S/T table is additive, not multiplicative, so every single point is a new bracket. That isn't true in 10th and 11th. The difference between S7 and S8 makes their roles completely opposite. In 30k hammers are S7 means they wound marines and terminators on 2s so they are a fantastic upgrade for anti infantry units. Power fists are S8 which means they can actually threaten vehicles, but they have an initiative penalty making them worse against infantry despite also wounding everything on 2s. In 10th a hammer is straight up a better fist in every single situation which is the complete opposite.
