>>97881573I can't comment on the BLADE comic thing, but barebones horny posting is something many people have expressed issues with over the months, and has been the subject of several larger arguments. We also have recently had multiple people complain about shit that only Nyanko does. It's literally been more than a year since Nyanko released a jump; unlike the others, he doesn't offer anything to make-up for his proclivities.
>>97881617>but barebones horny posting is something many people have expressed issues with over the months, and has been the subject of several larger arguments. You and the rest had the opportunity to indulge in a thread where that stuff was policed hard by 9anon and the other mods. Then you bitched that they were being too heavy handed. Then you bitched nobody was even USING the horny thread/it was just full of pure futa (because that's what fucking happens when you tell BLADE to take his obsession to somewhere else and let him post unchecked). And finally, when the mods relented and allowed the original state of posting it behind spoilers, you are here bitching again even though most people are chill with it by now. Or how he thinks that a badly translated post about how the blatant alien species is "from the universe" means they're some kind of reality warpers, when it was obvious that the post meant they're from space?Or about how he thinks R-Type Final 2's missions take place after R-Type Final's events, despite the framing device of R-Type Final 2 being you doing simulations of stuff that happened during R-Type Final? With the basis of this assumption being the fact that Granzella kept adding in new simulation missions and changing the numbering of the game with each mission pack?

>>97881707>Would you have preferred I brought up his assumption that the latex from Changed warps space, based on his belief that a few rooms stretch off near infinitely, despite them being specifically animated to demonstrate a level of depth that isn't infinite? You had it pointed out to you that the backgrounds are physically impossible to be contained in the building even if we assume that it's three buildings joined together. Which, as someone separate from the initial argument and who chose to look at the stuff on my own, they're apparently not. Like, there's a mini game showing that the main tower isn't situated in such a way that it would allow for those rooms to interconnect between buildings, and that was one of your main arguments. The lava room especially doesn't make sense without the latex modifying shit to allow for it, because Colin would burn to death otherwise. >Or how he thinks that a badly translated post about how the blatant alien species is "from the universe" means they're some kind of reality warpers, when it was obvious that the post meant they're from space?Nothing indicates that the Latex come from space outside of that sole room and one other minigame where you find dozens of floating crystals in a cave somewhere. And like, you realize that if they're capable of opening portals to show the vacuum of space that they ARE reality warpers, right? By definition?>Or about how he thinks R-Type Final 2's missions take place after R-Type Final's events, despite the framing device of R-Type Final 2 being you doing simulations of stuff that happened during R-Type Final? I don't have a ton of understanding of R-Type, but from what I've read here and on /m/, Final & Final 2 are in a weird place in the timeline because chronologically, Operation Bitter Chocolate is meant to take place post-Final in the official timeline and there's stuff in Final 2 showing events and things that only show up there.
>>97881707Argent's argument on them "coming from the universe" and them being reality warpers were separate things IIRC. And even if you're not being generous to Argent at all, we see that the portals the dark latex travels through are actual star-filled voids. Unless your argument is that they landed on Earth via meteor or some shit, they'd need to be altering reality in order to create portals to navigate through to begin with.
>>97881743My main argument was that they're not too big to fit in a building. The background's animated to demonstrate a finite amount of depth, and I'd put the crystals at being like, maybe house sized and across the street levels of distance, with how far they move in the background with every step>I don't have a ton of understanding of R-Type, but from what I've read here and on /m/, Final & Final 2 are in a weird place in the timeline because chronologically, Operation Bitter Chocolate is meant to take place post-Final in the official timeline and there's stuff in Final 2 showing events and things that only show up there.Nah, Final happens after the Tactics games, with the ending of the game being you literally killing off the Bydo race. This hasn't been retconned yet. The confusion is because Tactics 2 uses the prototype form of the R-99 Last Dancer, the R-Waltz. It actually failed HARD in Tactics 2 though, which is the canon reason the R-Project was mothballed prior to FinalHell, the Waltz failure is actually what caused the mothballing of the R-Program mentioned in the lore of Final>>97881780>are actual star-filled voids. We also see that the stars aren't stars. They're little floating balls of light that can just leave their puddles whenever you want. You have them happily leaving their puddles and flying around you while in the same room, and other latex things capturing them
>>97881741Who asked?
>>97881646>>97881707I have no stake in your fight against Argent, but I distinctly recall that when he posted about the latex beasts altering reality, your justification for them not doing so was that "the backgrounds are just the flat walls of the test chamber" or something like that, but then there are these screens of those same rooms which show not only a ray of sunlight shining down on the MC (where is it coming from?) but also that the room goes from a flat color gradient in the normal section to the watery and wavy one as though he's moving underwater. Any way you try and slice it, I'd call this a form of reality warping.
>>97871090>>97881741Is Neko Arc your new mascot? The character is reddit as fuck, you know?
>>97881826>Nah, Final happens after the Tactics games, with the ending of the game being you literally killing off the Bydo race. This hasn't been retconned yet.Well if the wiki is to be believed, then you're correct. But the stated reason for the events in Final 2 is to start training and preparing in case the Bydo ever return. It's also stated that the dates for the Tactics 1 & 2 Bydo stories are unknown.
>>97881843In that picture, the latex is visibly just, on the walls and floor. Like, you can literally see it covering the walls and piling up against them in the backThe light effect is exactly the same kind of effect you'd get by shining light through a liquid. Like, it's outright identical to the lighting in the basement under the fishtanks at my nearest Bass Pro Shop. The bright shafts of light are because of the liquid concentrating itPersonally I was just assuming that it was either the latex just covering the ceiling, where the lights were, or that that room was under the aquatic area. Sadly, I haven't been able to play the Special Edition of the game so I can't check
>>97881826>We also see that the stars aren't stars. They're little floating balls of light that can just leave their puddles whenever you want. You have them happily leaving their puddles and flying around you while in the same room, and other latex things capturing themThe floating balls of light and the stars in the portals are separate things though they use the same sprites. And it doesn't seem so much like the lights are being captured by the latex as they ARE the latex. One of the crystal phages latches on to Colin and as soon as the light inside it enters his body, the crystal shatters. Which could arguably make the latex energy beings in some sense who transport themselves using portals, which would still necessitate some kind of reality altering mechanism or something equally esoteric. You also have several crystals just...floating in the air with no mechanism for locomotion, which doesn't have to involve reality warping sure, but it is a good point in demonstrating that the latex isn't operating on earth rules.
>>97881842I asked. I cared.>>97881858Once I finish the Jump, I can max a different bit. For now, I'm in my Neco-Arc arc.
>>97881870>But the stated reason for the events in Final 2 is to start training and preparing in case the Bydo ever returnThe stated reason is to figure out what happened during the war, to compile military histories and to pass on knowledge of anti-bydo weapon development
>>97881920>R-Type Final 2: Some time after the end of Operation Last Dance and the destruction of the True Bydo Core, the Space Corps begin training pilots in anti-Bydo warfare via simulations in case they ever return. >>97881925Taken from the literal in-game manual. Also, the out of game manual on the official website>Humanity has developed many weapons over the course of the Bydo invasion.>The Force, a truly indestructible weapon, realized through a convergence of harvested Bydo. The Wave Cannon, a weapon with the destructive power of a battleship's primary weapon, yet capable of being installed onto small-sized crafts.>A variety of Missiles, each developed to compliment the special characteristics of individual crafts. And the Bit, an artificial Force created to assist craft with an offensive defense.>The previous military operation, Last Dance, was initiated with the goal of developing a craft able to utilized all of theses weapons-the Ultimate Interchangeable Fighter. And once realized, humanity successfully struck the source of the Bydo.>The objectives of the current mission, R-TYPE FINAL 2, are to compile the military history of the war between humanity and the Bydo, and to pass down the know-how for anti-Bydo weapon development.>Yet unpublished military records and war memories are required over the course of this compilation. As new war records are still being discovered, we foresee that mission will stretch over a long period of time.>And so, in recognition of their achievements, those who complete a certain amount of compilation work in relation to this mission will be given the right to change the provisional "R-TYPE FINAL 2" title.>Over and out.
>>97881894Anon, I know you're convinced Argent is in the wrong on this, but the way the lighting is shown makes it clear that it is not any of the ceiling lights, but instead similar to how you might see sunlight streaming down from up above (you can see the light shining down even further in the background to show that it's not even in the space directly in front of Colin like it would if it were just hanging ceiling lights either). In fact, it wouldn't make sense if this were just the latex covering the ceiling because 1) the light wouldn't be able to pass through properly if it was and 2) the ceiling probably isn't high enough to justify the angle of this lighting to begin with. The most likely explanation is that the dev is just bad at showing depth but still wanted to indicate that the latex have heavily altered this environment in ways that aren't natural.
>>97881894>>97881960Forgot image.

>>97881969First off, the artist is actually, genuinely, good at showing depth. He even goes out of his way to animate backgrounds differently to show different amounts of movement based on how far away the things in it are supposed to be!But that room specifically doesn't have any depth. You literally see the wall get covered and stuff piling up against it in the background, at literally every point in it apparently.Secondly, that room literally demonstrates clear latex that light shines through, which can hold water. Which is covering most of the room. That honestly makes it even more likely that the lighting is because of the balls of water that are everywhere in the room also covering the lights>>97881978Eh, fair enough. School uniforms make for such a good base for a jumper's practical adventuring outfit when you think about it.
>>97887191There's way to much variation in them to agree definitively. Especially if gender differences are taken into account. Military uniforms, your point would be harder to argue with, but even then there's been a lot of evolution over the years.

>>97893009An SSJ2 is only twice as strong as an SSJ, and the ORT cloud, at minimum, is five times Earth's mass.
>>97893468Blowing up planets is already way below SSJ. Muten Roshi and pre-Namek Piccolo blowed up the moon. Freeza even in his smallest form could do it, and in his perfect form he just beaten to death by SSJ Goku.
>>97893009Unironically based on FighterZ, no way. Saiyans are super weak to things like infection, and while a brute force fighter by Fate standards ORT is spreading that shit everywhere in the valley. It also learns about it’s opponents faster than Gohan does, and can start copying ki and shit while he’s still trying to figure out the threat he’s facing; during LB7 even the weakened ORT can disabled your Servants and eat them if they break it’s healthbar. Put that altogether and ORT can absolutely just render Gohan powerless and vore him like Buu assuming they’re standing about as far apart as the typical DBZ combatants. The Z-Warriors consistently have to charge to unleash actually planet-destroying or above attacks until Super where Beerus exists and Frieza just murks the Earth. Even Kid Buu spent a few seconds screaming a hole into the afterlife. Super Buu might’ve been able to handle ORT, though. Might.
>>97893444One, that would require Gohan to perform well under pressure in a straightforward fight and despite Gohanposter’s ravings he’s…not exactly wrong Gohan has a tendency to fumble the ball. A lot. Two, there’s the absurd possibility ORT legitimately can just pull a Cell and regenerate from particles. Remember everyone had to beat on Lostbelt ORT very, very, very, very hard and give it an actual concept of death before Chaldea’s computer could even calculate it being beatable with Excalibur turbocharged with the Storm Border’s magical energy supply.Three, I think everyone’s forgetting even Lostbelt ORT can deform space to parry actually dangerous attacks like said Rayproof. This matters because Excaliblasts (which don’t have the Storm Border’s support) are powerful enough to kill things Nasu says have the actual powerlevel of a star, implying unless Gohan hits ORT with at least something that can blow up a no-bullshit sun ORT can swipe left on it. At it’s weakest. You need Super powerlevels and even then he’d presumably be dealing with a healthy ORT
>>97893375So I am gay and cringe, what do I care? I was bored, now people are discussing Ort vs Gohan. I had fun. Say do we have a Ducktales jump? What about a Darkwing Duck jump I am feeling nostalgic.
what the FUCK is blue archive? perpetual student-teacher fantasy bait? post apocalyptic? robots, angels?
Is there no Full Metal Daemon Muramasa jumpchain? Is anyone working on one?Does anyone want one?I can make one but my jumps are pretty mediocre. I'm not worthy of the task.
>>97895984This looks like Fate. It isn't Fate. I shall continue to let you exist, but your one thin ice, bucko.
>>97895984Shard retired, no one's gonna play it
>>97895941>perpetual student-teacher fantasy bait?Pretty much this yeah. With a bibt of extra nonsense added in because Japanese waifu gacha.
>>97895984Well, you won't get better if you don't try. What Jumps have you made?
>>97895941You're not supposed to ask questions, you're supposed to look at the cute gun girl
>>97895941It's a story about lolis suffering from adult neglect while a completely useless adult does nothing while the students struggle and gets all the accolades from their work while shifting any blame for his own actions onto them
6 perks and 16 items left to do. Everything is named, and they're noted with what they're supposed to be. I feel like I would've been done with this Jump a few hours ago if not for this freak heatwave. It's legitimately been hotter than Phoenix, Arizona. I'm otherwise happy with how it's turning out. Turned more serious than I'd wish, but whatevs. Wanna finish this before the end of the week.
>>97893976>ORT legitimately can just pull a Cell and regenerate from particlesHe can regenerate from particles, but Vegito showed the ability to complete disintegrate pieces of Majin Buu.Also yes, Gohan can fumble, I was saying if they just fight with raw power and no other circumstances involved.>even Lostbelt ORT can deform space to parry actually dangerous attacks like said Rayproof.Yes the galactica supercell can do that but I doubt it's reliable enough to parry all of Gohan attacks (on the other hand it's also true that Gohan doesn't have beam spams I can think of).
>>97896949>completely disintegrateYeah but this is Vegito, not Gohan. It's also important to note that as absurd as it sounds, there is a non-zero chance ORT regenerates faster than Buu. See, the reason why they didn't just Excalibur-blast ORT until U-Olga accelerate time is that it literally regenerates too quickly in normal space-time to take meaningful damage. Keep in mind Excalibur cleanly disintegrated Sefar in timelines where it doesn't have a reason to duplicate itself and get stored on the moon. Chaldea's supercomputer said that WOULDN'T WORK on Lostbelt ORT until the army of Servants, 3 underworld guardians, Tepeu and Tlaloc all beat the shit out of it's outer shell first. And that you legitimately can just overpower ki blasts with enough power...like say, that of a celestial body.>all of Gohan attacksThe thing is Gohan can't spam attacks powerful enough to meaningfully do anything to ORT other than teach it ki control faster than Videl; if this was the case Vegeta's spam attack at Cell would've done more than kick up dust clouds. When people say DBZ characters can blow up the moon/Earth/whatever, other than the exceptional case of Broly they mean they can charge an attack big enough to do that-not ape Beerus and just will a planet to end in seconds. Look at it like this: Even by Super Hero Gohan needs to sit back and actually charge an attack which can take him out while Orange Piccolo actually holds down the big retarded Cell. In the time Gohan takes to make an attack that ORT even feels it might need the supercell for, ORT has already bounded over and sucked all the ki out of the atmosphere, hit Gohan with various anti-Gohan debuffs, ripped off and copied all of Gohan's buffs, and cleaved his ass harder than Yuji at the end of Modulo. All of which isn't even factoring in the possibility a healthy ORT could legitimately blow up a galaxy. Remember: Lostbelt Zeus isn't anywhere near the biggest threat in the LBs.

>>97898336>>97898420I would drop a 200CP or 400CP perk just so you have 6 and 6 and 6 and 4, instead or 6 and 6 or 7 and 6 or 7 and 4, but it's a WIP anyways so that might not be valid criticism. Same with items, I'd drop a 100CP item just so it's even. I don't otherwise know TOS enough to give deep criticism. I do know that the other Star Trek Jump sorely missed having a perk to be retroactively immune to Q bullshit when they inevitably revert it. I know "Q This" or whatever it's called existed, but I'm more referring to not Chail failing due to cosmic / time / reality bullshit. Like that time they do warp whatever and turn into lizards. That's gotta be a Chain fail. Just points to consider.

I have made 4 Jumps this year, one for every month. Corruption of Champions remake, Monster Musume remake, Going Over, and now Edge of the Sky.My modus operandi with Monster Musume and Going Over were looking for types of settings that we don't have Jumps for when disregarding Generic Jumps, and for which I have at least an adjacent fetish of to motivate me. I have now gone through literally hundreds of porn games, and the well feels dry due to waiting on them getting finished. I have exhausted four and a half websites. I will probably get around to remaking my Tenchi Jump at some point, but not a lot will change so it's not THAT interesting for me to do.
>Be Me>Be doing a side chain to take a small break from my main chain.>Rolled a jump I am going to use next in my main chain.>Have fuck all to write because I want to use my ideas for my main chain.I know I am being stupid but except for turning Issie from High School DxD in to a Magic Girl, I got nothing. >pick whichever kind of loser you think it would be funny to put on this kind of chain as the jumper>all jumps are randomized>origins, races, and regular purchases, from perks to companion import/exports/OC creations to items, are completely randomized until starting CP and all stipends are fully spent>flipping a coin to decide whether an invalid purchase, such as a free perk that is exclusive to an origin that wasn't randomly selected, can be given to the randomselect jumper anyway>purchases that extend past the CP limit must be compensated with random drawbacks, and as many are taken as necessary until there is enough CP to make the randomly generated build legal>excess CP after these drawbacks are chosen must be filled up with randomly chosen purchases of legal cost, except in the case of awkward CP values that cannot be filled with the remaining choices, like 50cp in some edge cases or 75cp in some even edgier-casier edge casesIt took me like three jumps to lose interest in this idea, but it was fun while it lasted

>>97922331
>>97922361Sorry if I said something wrong, it's my first time posting in this thread.
>>97919496Rance series gets you a level cap and the associated exp system, but I think the Rance jumps all make a point of giving it to you via fiat.
>>97922331None of our generic jumps allow to be used as supplements.Supplement mode isn't liked here though we do have one annoying jump maker who originated from reddit who insists on putting it in all his jumps.Anyway, my favourite Generic is probably Generic Paranormal Romance, followed by Generic Dungeon Invasion. I also like Dragon Sword and Sword & Sorcery but it's debatable if they are truly generics.
>>97919496you mean litrpgs where there's an in-universe explanation for the system existing?a budding scientist in a fantasy world is a story about an isekai'd girl fixing the local system after it started breaking down shortly after she was isekai'd, and it seems like that story is facing its conclusion literally right now on royalroadanother one i liked was arkendrithyst, it had a dominant system for the first parts of the story but once the mc got powerful enough to look past it it turned out to just be a mechanism created by the local gods and then he sort of makes his own system towards the end of the story
>>97921698>>97922215nta but the qq nigga's skyrim jump that you liked adds perks to bodymod
>>97923433They posted a Skyrim mod Gauntlet which is funny because I had just finished a Skyrim parody Jump, so I liked the initial post because it was funny. In the initial post they asked for feedback, and I responded with pic related. I literally didn't even read the document. I have said before, I don't concern myself with new Jumps unless I already know the setting, and I have never played any Skyrim quest mods. This is some of the most baby schoolyard shit I've ever seen in my life.
>>97923433MOREOVER, at LEAST two Jumps, Generic Virgin and Generic First, also add things to your Body Mod. I don't support this, I don't support Generic Jumps, but square that circle. Now tell me Generic Jumps aren't the lube used to fuck us with other things.
>>97923793>Generic FirstSB jump.>Generic VirginQQ jump. Irrelevant to /tg/.
>>97923799THEY'RE ALL FUCKING IRRELEVANT TO /tg/, WHICH IS ALL THE MORE A WONDER WHY IT WAS BROUGHT UP IN THE FIRST PLACE. Besides poking me in the side, that is.
>>97923818When you antagonize a whole community, multiple people can disagree with you. I don't care what you do on other sites, but you're bringing up off-site jumps as if they imply something about our own Generics, which /is/ relevant to /tg/.
>>97922576>Supplement mode isn't liked hereI'm fine with it were the mechanic kept for generic jumps or similar from before that was a recognized subset like gauntlets. It's just that thread gets assmad about anything even slightly off-key so the one specific instance of such a toggle got nuked, leaving the others in non-generic jumps already on the drive as an ironic counterpoint.>>97923799>QQ jump.>not "Also SB jump."You can't even use everything from Generic Virgin as a standalone because a few options only become available when you supplement it on and that level of built-in connectivity is stupid even before considering how it undermines posting it under a pseudonym.
>>97923835>about our own GenericsAnd therein lies the problem, this is all fundamentally your faults. That you justified them all. You the lube, and they the dildo. All of us, fucked. Yippee.
>>97923849This is you:>I don't support Generic Jumps, but square that circle. Now tell me Generic Jumps aren't the lube used to fuck us with other things. How is what retards on other sites do damning of our own Generics if our own Generics don't do the same thing? If our Generics did/start to do that thing, you'd have a point.
>>97923860Because Generics themselves are damning. Because what I did with putting 30 hours into an RPG Maker parody of Skyrim is harder to do than someone just sitting down and write a "Modded Skyrim" Jump. That the shortcut of a Generic itself is a measure and standard what quality you're willing to hold yourself to, and is why you have Generic arguing for putting Supplement Modes into all of his Jumps now. You're the bad guy, not me.
>>97923884>is why you have Generic arguing for putting Supplement Modes into all of his Jumps nowSpeedreader-kun... Generic is the one arguing against that. Spazz is the one who does that.
>>97923895>Speedreader-kunI don't engage with your retard thread. I was pulled between three places, and only saw that in relation to myself. They both make Generics, they're both annoying, and you tolerate both. It will inevitably get on because you people have ever-less standards.
>>97923895>Generic is the one arguing against that. Spazz is the one who does that.Never mind the fact that this does literally nothing to dissuade my point.>No X isn't killing us, X-Y isThanks? Fucking what.
>>97923919>>97923970nta, but that's still speedreading. The beef anon has with Spazz was that they're putting supplement mode in jumps that aren't generic jumps, but furthered that this wouldn't be an issue if those jumps hadn't introduced the idea to the collective format. Though it conveniently leaves out the part where most of the jumps that formalized that mechanic were made by our jumpmakers on holiday from Timmy while over on QQ.
>>97923998>most of the jumps that formalized that mechanic were made by our jumpmakersI rest my case.
>>97923998>spoiler BLADE wasn't a /tg/ jumpmaker yet when he codified supplement mode, actually. This framing of events also conveniently leaves out that the mechanic was almost unheard of in actual /tg/ jumps until introduced by redditors. Also, just because a /tg/ jumpmaker does something off-site doesn't mean we inherently have to approve of it, otherwise there would be no point in having the QQ drive at all since a /tg/ maker made lewd jumps so obviously we should all accept lewd jumps.
>>97923433Took me a bit to even find that jump, only to discover the perks it adds are being good at being tied up, making sex feel better, and being a particularly attractive woman.
>>97923433
>>97924380NTA, but it's always cringe to add to Bodymod, no matter what it is. At best, it's a gateway drug to worse shit. For example, the same guy made this jump. Webm-unrelated. >https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oUcgdaWRW3rvEfGue6kXZ1xQTSSuZ8g2/view?usp=drive_link

>>97924410>>97924423Honestly, I'm really tempted to just take the bodymod adding perks. They're neat and being an attractive and submissive bondage slut sounds fun
>>97924423The jump you're replying to by the same maker adds the full build, which includes standard WoW classes as freebies and other non-lewd powers as higher-tier perks. Which means at minimum that the jump lets you add endgame WoW power to your Bodymod.
>>97924438Having read that jump, and no it doesn't offer endgame WoW levels of power. It, at most, offers the potential of a WoW character. Probably a lot less, since most of us here aren't the kind of people who'd go out adventuring when we can actually get hurt
>>97924380>>97924423>being a particularly attractive woman.these are two full statlines in the quicksilver bodymod. yeah they're not impressive for jumps ut bodymod is supposed to be minimal state used for gauntlets. at minimum that's free cp for appearance you can spend on other shit.
>>97924467Meanwhile, they're a single free perk in NuBee's bodymod
>>97924461If you don't have a problem with a jump giving you even the potential to train into an endgame WoW character (which it then allows you to take into Gauntlets), there's no saving you. Even discounting that you can solve that with a cheap bravery perks in another jump, it still gives you a WoW class at usable levels to take into Gauntlets. Again, JUST as FREEBIES. You also get two ADDITIONAL freebies from your background.
>>97924524Listen, I honestly don't care about someone going into a Gauntlet, all of which can generally be cheesed by just having half-decent stats, with a WoW class.
>>97924557Three freebies, actually, btw. Including infinite spammable (save for a "brief" cooldown) healing and infinite unblock-able teleportation. >Hearthstone [100 CP] A small oval stone enchanted with a powerful but limited form of teleportation. After attuning it to the magic of a hearthplace you can return to that location at any time just by channeling the magic of the stone for ten seconds. This teleportation cannot be blocked or intercepted and works even across dimensions and at local multiverse ranges.>Gift of the Naaru [100 CP] A blessing bestowed by the Naaru upon you. When used it manifests in the form of an elegant signet of glowing blue or gold Light that floats above your forehead. You can tap into this gift to heal yourself or your allies, it requires no mana or other resources, but does have a brief recharge time between uses.
>>97924575... Those aren't even useful in most gauntlets
>>97924380link? I don't see it on the qq drive
>>97924599>it's not useful to be able to infinitely heal yourself or teleport when most gauntlets are about violence, survival, and attrition(You)
>>97924606>I don't see it on the QQ DriveThat's because it wasn't on the QQ drive. The author had closed it for a bithttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1tlbTWJZI2bz6gahYmMupcte0QWfngstj6QKZAUBV2wM/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.pt0nxgbrgm90
>>97924616>Most gauntlets are about violence, survival, and attritionWhat gauntlets have you been looking at? Because most of them absolutely aren't about those things
>>97924626>Kingdom Death, Light of Terra, Distant Sky, SOMA, Darkwood, Limbo, Oregon Trail, Noita, Pacific Drive, Binding of IsaacJust to name a few.
>>97924557>>97924599>>97924626Also, while Gauntlets are the iconic use-case for Bodymod, it also comes up with power-loss drawbacks. So not only does this allow you to cheat in Gauntlets, it also completely changes the dynamic for a lot of drawbacks in countless jumps.
>>97924642>Light of TerraCheesing that is pointless, since you quite literally CAN'T fail at that gauntlet, no matter what you do>SOMASOMA doesn't involve violence/survival/attrition. >DarkwoodThe healing isn't particularly useful considering your durability, and the teleportation would be actively detrimental>Oregon TrailSame here>Pacific DriveAlso here. >Binding of IsaacThe healing would be useful, but the teleportation wouldn't be.
>>97924674>SOMA doesn't involve violence/survival/attrition.Anon, half the game is about avoiding monsters. >>Darkwood>The healing isn't particularly useful considering your durability, and the teleportation would be actively detrimentalIt helps if anything gets through your durability. And part of the gameplay loop is preparing in your cabin. Being able to teleport back to it would be a godsend. >>Oregon Trail>Same hereHealing wouldn't be useful in a game about randomly dying in a dangerous historical expedition? Not to mention the same jump lets you get a WoW class that can heal disease and poison. >>Pacific Drive>Also here. Healing wouldn't help in a game about risking your life by venturing from your car to scavenge parts?
>>97924674>>97924626Oh, yes. Somehow I forgot about Dead Rising.
>>97924618Man the win condition on that gauntlet is insanely brutal. You've got to beat Alduin, Harkon & Miraak in order to win along with everything that those tasks implies. That's kind of fucking crazy for a Gauntlet and that's before taking drawbacks that make things even harder. Also as an aside the doc doesn't elaborate on who exactly the girl locked up in the Helgen keep is. Also not a terribly huge fan of being forced to be a female bondage slut since that kind of locks out male jumpers entirely.
>>97924557I actually went back to look at the jump, and this is one of the notes:>Inner Fire/First Step on the Path, “Class” Perks, and “Levels”. I don't believe that Stats and Levels as shown in the game are representative of the lore intent, but rather an abstraction for gameplay purposes. Taking any Perk in this Jump in no way locks you into a certain Class or Specialization. You can “multiclass” for lack of a better term, but the more you spread your focus the slower you'll probably progress in any specific field. As long as you have the two free Perks you can still learn and master any fields of knowledge found in Warcraft without the need for relevant Class or Profession Perks, but they can certainly help a lot.So you can enter every Gauntlet/power-loss scenario with not only "a WoW class" but potentially every ability in WoW simultaneously. JUST from FREEBIES, before even taking into account any perks or items you actually pay for.
>>97924703>part of the gameplay loop is preparing in your cabin. Being able to teleport back to it would be a godsend. The whole point of the game is to keep moving forward. Teleporting backward is detrimental>>97924703>Healing wouldn't be useful in a game about randomly dying in a dangerous historical expedition? Not particularly! The main concerns are starvation and keeping your wagon intact. >Healing wouldn't help in a game about risking your life by venturing from your car to scavenge parts?Yes! Pacific Drive's not particularly dangerous for a person. It's damage to the car that's the problem>Who the girl locked up isShe's a NPC added in by the mod that adds the quest the jump's built around. No clue what her deal is, I never managed to get that particular mod working. It IS a LAL mod and the jump says you're the dragonborn, so she'd probably just have a short quest through Helgen's tunnel system and maybe a bit further to make sure you're in the right place to start the rest of the game.
>>97924786>The whole point of the game is to keep moving forward. Teleporting backward is detrimentalIt's still better to have the OPTION when death/failure are the alternative. There are also multiple cottages/houses/buildings throughout the game. >Not particularly! The main concerns are starvation and keeping your wagon intact. Those are the MAIN concerns. Injury and disease are by no means insignificant. Also, having access to infinite healing would significantly expand your options for hunting/foraging/wagon maintenance/gathering supplies/etc. So you get to completely ignore one class of threat and potentially mitigate the others. Just with ONE of an entire SUITE of freebies, which themselves comprise only a PORTION of the full build the jumps allows you to add to your Bodymod. For example, mage classes which would make maintaining your wagon trivial, especially when you have access to not just one but ALL >>97924774 of them. And druid classes to make starvation a non-issue, which you can have access to in ADDITION to your mage classes, because the jump allows you to have literally EVERY WoW class for free. >Yes! Pacific Drive's not particularly dangerous for a person. It's damage to the car that's the problemSee above. You can trivialize all of those concerns with free mage classes. Even IF we are to grant this premise.
>>97924730Honestly, I think the hardest part is at the start, when you have to loot a key off of the corpse of slavers while your arms are bound behind your back and tied up in mittens. The girl's Chloe, she's part of the questline the jump's about
>>97924831Having extra classes wouldn't trivialize pacific drive. Have you ever played it? The gameplay's mostly about exploring destabilized bits of reality
>>97924843Having access to multiple ways to alter reality and/or enhance your abilities in a game where the main character (and anyone who takes the gauntlet the intended way) is basically a normal dude with standard video-game character superhuman stats is a major advantage compared to not having those things.
>>97924843>>97924861And the point was that you have several options now to maintain and repair your car, so you don't even have to engage with half of the gameplay loop.
>>97924861They really aren't, no. Especially since, you know, actually learning the classes isn't particularly easy
>>97924876Being able to learn them and bring them into Gauntlets/power-loss scenarios AT ALL is still significantly more than intended and allowed by jumps from this community. Also, again >>97924669 , Gauntlets are only ONE aspect of the issue. There are plenty of DRAWBACKS from JUMPS where having access to these abilities is problematic.
>>97924876And yes, they are. Being able to use arcane magic or whatever to repair a broken car part instead of having to venture into the forest to find a new one extremely useful.
>>97924904No, it really isn't. The main gameplay loop is travelling into unstable pockets of reality to find information, then back to the garage. Car repairs aren't really all that important once you get good. Or get a quirk that lets you go forward quick by honking the horn
>>97924835iirc the doc states that as long as you attempt to follow along that fate will arrange things for you to be where you need to be in order to get to Helgen and such, so that part isn't so much an issue. I personally just don't like that there's only an option to be a woman in bondage and no option to be the person putting them in bondage.
>>97925081Well, yeah. It's a jump for a Skyrim quest about being a woman sold into sexual slavery who is escaping that.
>>97924774>So you can enter every Gauntlet/power-loss scenarioPoint of order. If this works:>I have a Perk that Makes me a WoW Druid.>I have a scenario reward that makes that Perk park of my bodymod>I'm a WoW Druid in gauntletsThen logically this also works:>I have a scenario reward that makes me a WoW Druid>I'm a WoW Druid in GauntletsCan't have it both ways. Either Scenario Rewards aren't blocked (in which case adding things to body mod is purely a negative) or Scenario Rewards are blocked (in which case whatever was added to Bodymod is no longer being added to Bodymod and the whole point is moot). Same thing with Notes that make things part of bodymod. That's why bodymod additions are bad: not because they're too strong but because they don't actually work.
>>97925492>That's why bodymod additions are bad: not because they're too strong but because they don't actually work.1) They shouldn't work, but people will treat them as if they do. 2) They'd be bad/too strong if they worked.3) The intent is corrosive to the hobby whether they work or not. Attempts to circumvent the rules of other jumps should not be tolerated. Hello, Generic.
>>97925492>>97925501>1) They shouldn't work, but people will treat them as if they do.To add to this, I know you're redpilled on the 1-up/immortality and jump order issues, but for the community as a whole they've effectively been defunct for years, regardless of Quicksilver's intent on the matter. For all intents and purposes, 1-ups work, and jumpers can decide jump order.
>>97925522So? I don't care about what people do in their own chains and neither of those have bearing on how jumps are written. It's not like people seriously try to balance all jumps against each other so that the "choice" of which jump to go to is balanced.
>>97925552Rules only exist so long as people are willing to enforce them. If no one in the community bothers to enforce the notion that Bodymod can't be added to, then it can be added to.
>>97925573and then what happens?
>>97925573Again, who cares? Allowing you to add things to bodymod is a bad thing a jumper wouldn't willingly do, that exposes your identity during your background and stops them from stacking with perks. If other people want to houserule in it giving some minor advantage, it doesn't matter. The only problem would be if people started forcing things onto your bodymod, but is that really any different than mandatory perks which people already do?
Gauntlets and power loss drawbacks were a mistake in the first place.
>>97925799>GauntletsI've especially never cared much for these, they're just standalone CYOAs trying to convince me that it's part of jumpchain
>Gets a perk that makes clothes give stat bonuses>Thigh-highs and miniskirts boost programing skill
>>97926596Does it make a difference if they're striped? (Important question.)
Jumpers who take the "goonchain" route and have harems and shit: Do you actually put thought into the girls you thoughtlessly take with you just because you want to keep the eye/genital-candy around, you know, give them actual roles and jobs within the context of your warehouse or personal realm or whatever the fuck else you have going? Or is it more common for our jumpers to be like "I want to do a sex with this creature, so I'm taking it"
>>97926789I usually start with keeping them around as eye candy before eventually giving them position and responsibilities as I pick up more infrastructure and ways to empower people.

>>97926926>>97929330Shapeshifting perks, at least one shapeshifting costume, at least one armor.

>>97929330Colossal. Different outfits for different types of worlds, different climates, etc. I kind of feel bad for jumpers on this front though. Imagine you have a favorite piece of clothing. After 10 years it's probably not going to do very well. Either they become a master tailor and make their own clothes or buy in bulk and when something wears out just toss it away or donate it. I know it's a super first world problem but it must suck for them to be constantly wearing out stuff. I suppose you can enchant stuff with protection but even that wears out eventually. Maybe the best answer is Shape shifting, go around secretly Naked all the time.

>>97929330jumper is typaclly naked or wearing whatever and just covers himself in an illusion(through a DnD hat of disguise) to look like however he wants.
>>97932834>vidI dunno if it's on brand or a goof on the localizers' part that some of her English voice clips are still the untranslated Japanese gibbering.
>>97932834I think we have another confirmed jumper here. Shows up even though she doesn't belong in the setting or plot. Gives no fucks. Just does what she wants anyways. Yeah that a jumper.
>>97933872maybe even a sweater
Necro.
>>97936742This place truly is dead, not even 300 posts and it's in danger of falling off.
>>97940749Fractured into a million individual communities that don't especially care what the original thing was, just like so many other Internet communities that once were. Oh well. DDridge Farms remembers. I've deliberately gotten myself banned from everywhere else involving Jumpchain because there is no value in how they handle the hobby. When 4+4chan inevitably goes down, I'll probably get banned permanently from here as well because I'll then be outnumbered tens-to-one, but it's nice to at least pretend like there aren't termites eating the collapsing walls. I hope you are having a good evening.
>>97924044This is a bit late to the argument because I'm not checking this thread every day anymore, but -I have actually had a crashout over supplement mode in the past and I don't really like the idea of it any more than I do the jumps as a whole these days. So ye, would go back in time and tell myself not to add those. Also captcha is still garbage.
>>97940979As would I remove scenarios from Mass Effect.
>>97940979>>97940987
>>97940912At the rate things are going I'll bet this site will die before infinitechan does.
>>97940979If you hate it so much, why push it here? Why not fix the things you don't like about it?
>>97940979>So ye, would go back in time and tell myself not to add those. If you feel that strongly about it, why not just...remove it now? Declare it invalid. Of course you can't physically stop people from using it now it's out but it would at least make your stance clearer than continuing to seem like one of the meme "I do what I want" jumpmakers since most folks seem to assume you do not in fact regret anything about it
>>97924380Ah yes, minmnaxing for the 9-5 jump.
>>97941112>>97941116I have tried.>>97940992You aint overcome nothing
>>97941123I have remade three Jumps. I have evidently overcome you. Try harder.
>>97941123>I have tried. No one can stop you. QQ has spent the last several years that having any standards or quality control whatsoever is hecking authoritarian, and no one should be able to stop any jump from going on the drive for any reason. If you want the jump a certain way, then it gets to be a certain way; that's the precedent they've set.
>be ddanon>get publicly assraped by cliff of all people kek
>>97941230>Be Boomer-lite zogbot>try telling me that the majority of people won't conform when push comes to shove>site rules make it so nobody but me will just bitch slap the retard>literally going on about how they're Veteran meme disabled >supports drafting people, but think they're a good person >thinks people are inherently good>mods prove me right in the endI guarantee you if I kept that conversation going I could have gotten him to praise the Colt M1911. Terrible, terrible people.
>>97940749Well when PDF's got nuked it kind of caused a problem and there's nothing to suggest they're ever coming back. It doesn't help that the catchpa has become absolutely unbearable.
>>97941173>>97941230I like how anytime anyone brings up QQ, I feel more and more vindicated about never having anything to do with it. Just sounds like too much bullshit even if I got off on telling other unsexy people about my fetishes, even without DDanon sperging out with his desperation to find a social club that will accept him.
>>97941550Because I value the opinions of Gacha, Fate, and Exaltedfags so highly. You are all just variations of the same people with different bad ideas.
>>97941173The ideal outcome of the scenario would be people never mentioning the original generics ever again. I know this will not happen, because for some godforsaken reason there are people who actually like those jumps, which means that any change I make will be a downgrade and they will simply continue to use the originals. As such, I find no point in putting effort into something that won't work. And I did actually straight up delete them off the drive during my crashout, which is something I got massively bitched at for until I put them back.
>>97941609Removing supplement modes from your Generics would still serve a higher purpose because of all the people here who try to use those jumps as justification to argue for supplement modes in every jump being a good thing.
>>97941581Yeah, man.You do.You unironically do, because right now you could be doing literally anything else. You could even play this hobby by yourself, despite all your flaws as a human being you clearly have the capability and will to make the jumps you want as well as supreme confidence in your own work. You don't do that. You chase validation from the people who hate you, and then cry like a bitch about it when it's never given.
>>97941609>because for some godforsaken reason there are people who actually like those jumpsHere is a lesson I learned early in life: Fuck those niggers, and fuck their definition of fun. If you yourself agree you fucked up, then their whining is irrelevant.
>>97941611maybe.>>97941629The other half of the equation is that I'm 30k words into an exalted fanfic and that's way more interesting to me right now than actually making jumps, let alone fixing fuckups with old jumps.
>>97941618I care about the hobby, not you. A lot of you are liabilities. Some of you are even worse.
>>97941112>>97941116Oh, oh, I know this one teacher! It’s because if he tried, there’d be tons of spergouts about “DEY NERFIN OUR BUILDS!” or some shit.
>>97941874If you really felt that way you'd just practice the hobby in private. Instead, you make yourself a liability to every community and then tell yourself it means anything other than that you're alone and hated.
>>97942206>If you really felt that way you'd just practice the hobby in privateI AM NOT THE HOBBY, YOU STUPID FUCK. I swear on my life, if I ever have the displeasure to meet one of you low-IQ elementals in real life, I will maul you like a bear.
>>97942206He can't practice the hobby in private because he doesn't have the willpower or interest to do it. It's why he has made so few jumps despite being the oldest active namefag, and has written basically nothing when compared to the likes of Shard who he predated. Unlike actual private jumpmakers, he can't bring himself to make a jump without posting it for validation. If the community died for real, he wouldn't be able to continue it on his own.
>>97942304Limb from limb. That you fucking retards don't understand so many bad Jumps and types of Jumps existing, let alone on THE DRIVE, is bad for the hobby is beyond parody. You are literally some of the stupidest people I have ever talked to, consistently.>and has written basically nothingI owe you nothing. Period. You deserve to be beat in the street for your wanton foolishness.
>>97942320The hobby doesn't have enough people to matter, and you, despite your claims, have not made enough jumps to make any noticeable difference. You scream and bitch about how much you care, but you haven't done jack shit. You brag about killing homeless people irl and how you would love to find people here, dox them, and kill them, but you haven't done that either. Just do it already instead of constantly talking about it like your words have made a difference. You brag about how much money and power you have, and yet nothing has ever changed.
>>97942366>have not made enough jumps to make any noticeable differeBlow me, retard. Reverse psychology doesn't work on this schizo. You smug fucks destroy the hobby and then wonder why it's destroyed, and don't say you don't because you retards were talking about it just recently on 4+4. You're acting deliberately retarded, and I'm gonna keep calling you out on it. I will be a thorn in your side, forever.
>>97941611Supplement modes do nothing since there isn't any rule prohibiting you from taking multiple jumps as is.
>>97942739Isn't it more that such a rule didn't need to be written because that was the norm for other CYOAs which got carried over, further corroborated by the fact that supplement mode only showed up after a different jumpchain supplement introduced a similar idea in combining jumps (meaning it wasn't normal gameplay prior to having a bespoke option on offer)?
all i know is i started having way more fun making chains after i stopped worring about what drive a jump comes from"good for the hobby" my ass
>>97942739Yes there is. It's clearly set up from the very beginning that Jump-chan gives you one jump to make a build for, you do that jump, then she gives you a different one for another world. There's nothing that implies you can somehow force her to also let you make a build for some other setting or (other than through fanfic drawbacks) go to a crossover setting.Supplement Modes do nothing because when a jump lacks a Supplement Mode I can't combine jumps without houserules. When a jump has a Supplement Mode, I can't combine jumps without houserules because the author never ever explains how they intend it to work. All it does is force me to finish your jump for you by making up house rules for a thing I didn't want to do because if I had wanted it I would have made up those house rules without prompting.
>>97942981Just because you enjoy something doesn't mean that it's good or healthy for the hobby. The argument has always been good Jumps should be on the Drive, and all else should not.
>>97943035>a thing I didn't want to doWell that's your issue right there. Everything outside of that is essentially rendered a non-argument because you are unwilling to engage with it in good faith. Though as it stands, the three instances of supplement mode that were already on our drive prior to most recent schism were still enough to figure out the mechanics side of things. If you're bitching about having to do your own work for the lore side of things, than that's just dumb.
>>97943365I engage with stuff I think shouldn't be in jumps in good faith. I don't want to lose all my powers with each new jump, but Slice of Life says I lose all my old powers for that jump. Therefore, my jump gets depowered for 10 years, because that's what the rules say.And there's no way to "figure out" the mechanics side of things. I guarantee you that if you and anyone else were to sit down and go through the details of making simultaneous builds, you'd wind up making different assumptions on at least some details, details which would have been unambiguous according to vanilla rules.
>>97943191no, your argument is that tradition must be followed regardless of reason, claiming that you're talking about good jumps is a bald faced lie
>>97943590The DDAnon school of thought was that lewd Jumps were inevitably going to get made, so controlling the market controls more aspects of the hobby's quality. By abdicating them, you abdicate overall control which is fucking stupid. That, and mod-scared namefags railing against them in the first place. I have always supported remakes because Quicksilver should not have been allowed to corner one of the most popular settings. People and their criticism of that was usually >how dare you criticize the person who made the thing you enjoy...but unironically. To which I would respond with.>he isn't an island or infallible
wasn't there a blacksouls jump somewhere?
>>97943430Am I misunderstanding this, or are you asking for what amounts to author overreach/interjump balance in a situation best served by fanwank/user interpretation? As in, would you want there to be hard set rules for a supplement mode system even though you seem to be communicating that you dislike when jumpmakers attempt to add/enforce hard rulings regardless of whether they're optional (toggles, choose # from pool, etc.) or mandatory (non-drawback/scenario caveats applied on use/entry of a jump)?
>>97943880Yes. Multiple things can be bad. The Personal Assistant from Nine to Five is bad, because she gets +200 CP in all future jumps. But options in one jump shouldn't be changing the mechanics of other jumps like that. Now imagine if it was instead written like this:>Personal Assitant (100 CP): This personal assistant is a Companion who gets specific amounts of extra CP to spend in each future jump, based of certain criteria.Fucking what? "Specific amounts" of CP? How much? What "certain criteria"? This is worse than the other one. Not only is it a meta-effect that edits other jumps' mechanics, it refuses to tell me what those changes are. I literally can't even use it as written, because it doesn't express a complete thought. "Fanwank"? "User interpretation"? Bullshit. At least the other guy was wiling to write his interjump cheating thing instead of writing half of an interjump cheating option and then pretend it's not the author's fault because I as the player had to fill in some of the details.
>>97944585>writing half of an interjump cheating option and then pretend it's not the author's fault because I as the player had to fill in some of the detailsThis is why I say you aren't engaging it in good faith. Yes, you can use it to cheese one jump. But there are so many ways to cheese any one jump up to and including just using at least one of these as a standalone jump before using the other jump you would've combined with it as another standalone jump so you had the resources gained from the former to trivialize the latter that you are bordering on inventing maledictions to justify your disdain for an optional method of play which can just as easily be used to make a singular combined jump more difficult rather than less (1 of them can make most settings much more dangerous at initial level, the others are losing out on an easy/safe jump later to soften up another one now). The options can't be any more specific because when it actually was, that line was removed from the option because of the same sort of mechanics overreach you are arguing against (#2 had a hard rule regarding how to handle companion option interactions; it no longer had that line initial update). What is present - especially in the more recent two - is enough to parse how to make use of the option so long as you aren't purposefully choosing the least charitable interpretations, and intentionally avoids addressing the more contentious interactions (item/companion imports) precisely because most players already handle those differently than whatever warped consensus tangential to any written rules was last considered in vogue. And while the earliest one likely assumes one is passingly familiar with the versions of the mode present on QQ, the others establish enough details one can form a loose rule set that is not in explicit/direct contradiction with any of the information stated in the other 2 toggles when using the one they've chosen.
>>97945012It's hard to even understand your arguments due to how you keep trying to hit the thesaurus on every other word. ("Maledictions"? Seriously? Are you posting from the 14th century?)>Yes, you can use it to cheese one jump. You can use it to cheese your entire chain, because it gives you control of your own jump order in character. Now I no longer become Yog-Sothoth when I reach DYN Freaks. I become Yog-Sothoth when I reach DYN Freaks or Rugrats, with the actual build for Rugrats being meaningless because the whole jump now only serves as a vehicle to give me permission to ignore the rule stating that I don't control where I jump. Or at least, that seems to be how people want it to work, whether what they write RAW achieves that notwithstanding.>The options can't be any more specificI have seen an outright Redditor write a mechanically functional supplement mode option at least once, without any prompting from me. It is not hard at all:>Crossover Mode(+0CP): Choose a crossover fanfic for (jump IP) and this world will be replaced by that fanfic instead of canon. Alternatively, choose any piece of fiction from your home world, and I will create a fanfic crossover of my own and send you to it.>Frontload Mode(+0CP): The duration of the current jump, (jump name here), falls to zero. You are guaranteed to be offered the option to continue the chain at the end of this jump, but are required to choose it instead of staying or going home. This Drawback isn't removed until after you've made your end choice for this jump.There. Completely unambiguous and doesn't fuck with any other document or jump ordering. The second one is still sort of against the spirit of jumpchain, but not by much more than an "you only spend one week in this setting" option.
trying to police what a chain maker can do is retarded, it's their chain and will suck or be good based on their decisions, not anyone else's
>>97945321This. We should stop policing chain makers by implying that drawbacks trump perks. Hell, just remove all discounts, origins, and CP costs. After all, it's their chain and will suck or be good based on their decisions.
>>97945340those all make sense in an individual jump because the chain maker chose a particular jump, but it's not anyone else's business what they do beyond that single jump, one jump interacting with another or behaving differently based on what other jumps you've taken or the number of jumps you've taken or similar is always retarded because you have absolutely no way to know what the actual state of the chain will be at the point that stuff happens, only the chain maker knows
>>97943696>I have always supported remakes because Quicksilver should not have been allowed to corner one of the most popular settings.Yeah, I'd care more about this if I cared at all about pokemon in any way. It was mildly more annoying when it came to the other settings quicksilver made jumps for, but I didn't really care enough about those to be seriously affected either. I can image that if I really wanted to have those settings as part of a chain and the only jumps available for it were barely more than shitposts and some drooling sperg was larping a political opposition against better ones being made it I'd want to strangle him.
>>97945125>the whole jump now only serves as a vehicle to give me permission to ignore the ruleCouldn't you just use the vague wording of the ones posted above to obscure details in a way that the jumper doesn't know what's going on in-setting without punishing the people who want to use it simply because the theoretical player who will minmax with it may in fact exist and is likely to already be ignoring one of a few depreciated mechanics that were never officially removed? As is, the three from above can be stripped down for these points of interest...>choose either another non-gauntlet jump (Dec, Oct, Mar), or a setting without a jump (Mar); when choosing another jump for this, select a setting with some themes or elements similar to this jumpdoc's setting (Dec)>make a build for this jumpdoc (Dec, Mar, Oct), and make a build for the other chosen jump (if applicable) (Dec, Mar)>points for those builds are kept separate (Dec, Mar), including points gained from drawbacks (Mar); drawbacks end at jump completion as normal (Oct)>the setting/other jump chosen becomes the base (Oct, Dec) for the jump; use the age/location from there as the default (if applicable) (Dec)>add/modify setting/story-related elements based on this jumpdoc as a supplement to the chosen setting/other jump (Oct, Dec, Mar); you may choose how these modifications are applied (Mar)Though the toggle that got smote which would go a long way to solving gameplay issues>please avoid choosing inherently contradictory optionsSince that could be applied to both the options in a jump and the choice of jump/setting itself. So, maybe like this?>Supplement Mode (+0): finish the build for this jumpdoc, then choose either a setting without a jumpdoc or another non-gauntlet jump. If you chose another jump, make a build for that jumpdoc. This world is a fusion/crossover of that setting/build and this jumpdoc's build; excluding age/location from this jumpdoc if you chose to make another build.
Every time I actually wanted to merge jumps, it wasn't the way everyone else talks about it. What I actually wanted was sequential merger, to just start one jump in star wars then have my next jump in star wars without changing settings.
>>97945420That's how I treated a few jumps in one chain where I had Yoshi's Island go into the general Mario series jump then Psycho Waluigi because the bookends had ways to set up the age to be exactly 20 years apart. It was a fun little arc with jumper just embracing the whimsy and going full glad dad for a while.
>>97945403>the vague wordingThere's nothing vague in the wording. You're just trying to make up rules because you don't like what they say RAW.As for the first set of greentexts:>1) You're giving me the ability to choose the strongest jump on the drive and jump it (even if I've jumped it before. RAW you don't specify.) That alone already makes this jump (Rugrats, say) the strongest jump on the drive for no reason other than that you arbitrarily wanted to add a meta-option that has nothing to do with the setting.>Because I'm using the age from the other jump and my race is unclear, I might die instantly from being a 3000 year old human. Or cheesing ages for things that grow with age.>This gives me freeform ability to rewrite the other setting, such as for example to make it significantly safer. It does not in any way answer where my items/Companions from this jump are (by default, back in the Rugrats universe where I can't access them), but "you're not allowed to take contradictory options" covers a lot, as long as a forced contradictory option (Elf race in WHF Dark Elves vs human in Rugrats) is covered by stopping you from picking that jump. The second one is also subject to instant death through having the wrong age, as well as having no way to handle contradictory races, sex changes, and can arguably cheese drawbacks which apply to beings/forces in the other universe rather than the new copies in this one.And none of that helps explain what makes the fucking Rugrats jump so special that it deserves to have this weird meta-option in it when Star Wars: Original Trilogy, Egyptian Mythology, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Warhammer 40K: Necrons, Spongebob Squarepants, Generic Parenting, Friday the 13th, Dungeons: the Dragonning, and Cyberpunk 2077 don't. What makes the Rugrats setting so special that it deserves to have this high-powered meta option that has nothing to Rugrats when none of those do?
>>97943852I do remember this. Weird. It had an image title card, right?
>>97945549>even if I've jumped it beforeGonna call that 14th Century bullshit right here.Jumpchain tends to have any exceptions to its rules in writing, and his would be such an exception. That said, this is not remotely present in any of the instances that actually exist here and could be argued, nor is there any text that could /reasonably/ be parsed as such. Why would a player who is otherwise following the rules presented/intuited suddenly decide to ignore rules that far beyond the allowances given?>You're just trying to make up rulesThis is (part of) why I specifically included post numbers with those pics - any anon can go look up those posts if they want, and what I've said can be gleaned from that text shown. The relevant portions are present and the timestamps show this is all five+ years accepted here.>You're giving me the ability to choose the strongest jump on the drive and jump it(You) as the player already had this ability because there are no tangible consequences and nobody meaningfully penalizes any such rule infractions. The only thing it would take to rectify this from the jumper's perspective and for players that are abiding by those rules is an extra line in the option or notes section that says something to the effect of the jumper not being aware the option is present/was selected. That way you get the mechanical function without having to acknowledge it as a choice the jumper was offered on their chain/in the story... but that's something you could just apply already when deciding the specifics of how the settings combine.>What makes [setting] so special that it deserves to have this high-powered meta option that has nothing to do with [setting] when none of those do?Nothing. Conversely, what made other jumps that already offer stuff that break other choice restrictions special enough to merit those options? Like say, Blue Feather in Harvest Moon. Hint: This criteria is arbitrary, same as most jumpchain mechanics.
>>97945798>Jumpchain tends to have any exceptions to its rules in writing, and his would be such an exception.None of them specify "select a jump you've never been to before." To be fair, none of these actually say you get a build for the other jump either. But it's clear based on the way they talk about it that they intended you to get a build. It's unwritten rules all the way down.>The relevant portions are presentIn individual jumps. But jumpmakers don't have automatic authority over other jumpmakers' jumps. When I write a Companion Import option, I'm not making a ruling on how all Companion Import options in all jumps work.>(You) as the player already had this abilityI have the ability to house rule anything I want. That doesn't mean that all jumps are immune to all criticism on the basis that I could have included an equally stupid house rule.>an extra line in the option or notes section that says something to the effect of the jumper not being awareIf the option isn't part of the build, what's the point? I don't need your permission to houserule how my Benefactor changes the written rules of a jump.>Like say, Blue Feather in Harvest MoonAnd those are all a little bullshit too. It's a matter of degrees. The ability to companion someone from another jump, while inside that jump, but only with their permission, doesn't throw off the power curve of my chain the way cutting straight to Isekai at Peace does.>Hint: This criteria is arbitrary, same as most jumpchain mechanics.Ackshually most things in most jumps have clear connections to the setting the jump document is for.
>>97942295You're such a fucking failure of a human being that you can't even get a community of terminally online autists to do what you want or accept your participation lmao, you'd fail at it like you've failed at everything else in life so hard you'd fist your own asshole bloody mid-fight. You'd job harder than Gohan.>>97942445>You smug fucks destroy the hobbyAnd you were powerless, some might say impotent, to do anything about it. You're not a thorn, you're the court jester. You're the new Bancho.
>>97942445>don't say you don't because you retards were talking about it just recently on 4+4.I don't frequent that community, nor do I bother using any of the public drives. You're just obsessed because you can't stand other people playing a single player game in a way that you dislike.
>>97946578>You smug fucks destroy the hobby>You: YesAlso, I was here before him. >>97946744>You're just obsessed because you can't stand other people Stop being retarded and you might be worth standing.>playing a single player game in a way that you dislike.Yes. Yes, no shit. You do things in such a way that it's destructive to the hobby. Yes, you fucking 'tard. I am surrounded by mental midgets. Congratulations on noticing that the sky is blue.
>>97946770You have no one to blame but yourself. You've let other people define and control your enjoyment of the hobby. Unlike you, if I have an issue with something, I actually do something about it. How is it that you are physically wealthier, have more free time than everyone else, and you claim to have more skills and motivation than anyone, but you can't do something as basic as making your own jumps for the franchises you like, or making your own drive so your hobby isn't affected by other people? How is it that no name jumpmakers succeeded where you failed so miserably? You really can't live without social validation can you?
>>97946999>You've let other people define and control your enjoyment of the hobby. The hobby is the hobby. You changed the rules of the hobby. This is not a debate. Function is not a debate. My hate will outlast you, too.
>>97947203This hobby is a single player game. You're the one insisting that it needs to involve other people. You failed the debate you wanted to start. Hate all you want, it won't make a difference. Unlike you, this hobby won't change for me regardless of whether the drives or everyone else is completely erased.
>>97947293>This hobby is a single player gameThe hobby is the hobby. By changing the hobby, you change the hobby. Therefore it isn't the same. Your ignoring that it has changed for the worse and will get worse as a result doesn't change. You are a midwit, and a fake fan. Go2R*ddit
>>97947342Reddit sounds like the perfect place for you.
>>97946419Actually... there's one funny way to read the toggles we have via RAW instead or RAI that your shitposting has made me consider... Since none of the ones we have say you get a starting budget in the other jump, there's nothing stopping a player from nerfing themselves by having the other build start with +0 instead of the usual +1000. But that only works in RAW since RAI seems to care that you're going to a non-gauntlet jump, otherwise it wouldn't care so much about things that tend not to be present in gauntlets like the ability to choose a background/location. Either way, that could be a fun way to mess with a jumper by using a base jump that has a rather low drawback cap/more difficult pool of drawbacks.
>>97884810What you MEAN this still the same thread from 13 days ago?! Jesus, times are hard for Jumpchain.I've actually been toying with the idea of making a Chapter Master Jump. Highly inspired by both Duke's game and the original Pretend Game from all the way back in 2011.While a portion of my rotten brain is pondering about the Chapter section, I'd like to ask you guys for opinions on name for the origins, which I'm stealing almost fully from Chapter Master (Duke's Game).-Born Leader is a good enough name.-Champion I find it to be a bit lacking and boring, but fits very well.-Psyker. Just... Psyker... :D! You can do magic tricks, yaaaay!!I'm thinking of going with Warpmaster for the Psyker origin. And instead of it being just a very good Psyker, I was thinking of throwing in some high-level perk powers that simulate what Astropaths and Navigators can do, albeit with the need of specialized equipment to have the same or higher quality as a great Astro and Navi. That, and of course, the whole dealing with artifacts and librarium skills.
>>97947850You have control of what the second jump is. If starting CP is somehow an issue, choose a jump that makes you something strong just for showing up (Exalted Solars) or via free perk (Dragonball Super)
I have been working for the writefag for this stupid jump for a week and as I try and write. Ideas don't want to come, words refuse to flow. It's a good jump and one I am interested in. This is supposed to be a side chain to get things flowing while I take a break from my main jump. I feel frustrated and annoyed with myself. Pic Unrelated but it's cute.
>>97948576Maybe if you swap a peri it'll clear your writing block
>>97949442>periperkfuck
Am I imagining it, or was someone working on a new craftworld eldar jump? Because I'm resisting the urge to start work on one.
>>97950869I can't recall anything of the sort, so I think if they were it must have been a long time ago and/or not brought up at all since then. So I say, go nuts, buddy.
